The Marketing & Communications internship in Sydney gave me the real life experience which I can tie closely to my studies, and this has helped me understand different topics more easily. The internship also gave me the practical experience I needed to help boost my CV (resume) for my later career, and better prepare me for my future. I enjoyed meeting many people from different cultures a lot. My host family accommodation was amazing; I couldn’t have asked for better.

This internship was a valuable experience that gave me practical exposure to the finance and operations side of the villa management industry. I enjoyed being able to work on real tasks, including financial reporting, data analysis, and learning how business decisions are made in a growing company. It was rewarding to see how the work I completed contributed to the team's daily operations. Beyond developing my technical skills, the internship also helped me grow professionally. I became more confident working in a business environment, improved my communication skills, and gained experience collaborating with colleagues from different backgrounds. Living and working in Bali also broadened my perspective and strengthened my adaptability. Overall, this internship gave me practical experience that supports my university studies and has better prepared me for my future career in finance.

Meeting the people in my flat really changed my experiences. They were so kind. I was lucky with my internship with having people supporting me and also wanting to get to know me. I highly recommend this to someone.

I had the most incredible and life altering experience of my life with the Forensics - Wildlife & Conservation internship in South Africa. I have so many favorite moments I can’t even keep track. To someone that is undecided about whether or not to do this, I say DO IT. I have never met such an incredible group of people (both as friends and mentors). I feel like in two weeks I lived a lifetime and have never learned so much in such little time. Out of all the lessons I learned, I have to say the one that has been the most pronounced is that learning about a world so different from your own opens your eyes to the beauties and flaws in your own life. What I enjoyed most about the Public Health internship in Cape Town was being able to work closely and connect with such qualified, educated, and passionate professionals in my field. The thing that I enjoyed the most in the Reserve Management & Research internship was being able to see all of the wildlife that is unique to the area in Kruger National Park, while also being surrounded by nature and actually contributing to something as a visitor to the area; rather than just being a spectator on the sidelines. Personally, this internship gave me the unique opportunity to see animals (that I have only seen in a zoo) in the wild and in their natural habitat. The internship has also given me more confidence in different areas like communication and being social, while also making me more knowledgeable about how people are from different countries, alongside with making friends from all over the world. Professionally, this internship contributed to my development by providing me experience in an area that will be relevant along with completing a project associated in the field. This will help me stand out from others when it comes to job applications and it has given me the edge.

It is hard to pick one thing that I enjoyed the most. The entire experience in itself was amazing, and I could not be more grateful that I put myself out there. I was able to gain hands-on experience in the healthcare setting, which will better prepare me for my future.

I really enjoyed my experience. This internship was an amazing opportunity to learn more about my field from professionals with far more experience. It allowed me to develop my skills, gain valuable knowledge, and build confidence in a real-world setting. I believe that this internship was beneficial for me in many ways, in and outside of the medical field. I enjoyed being able to see things in the hospital that I may have never gotten to see if I were not in this internship. Seeing so many types of surgery truly opened my mind to so many other career possibilities. I now have the confidence I was lacking to pursue what I truly want in the medical field.

My opportunity to intern was one of the best things I've been blessed enough to be a part of. It taught me so much about the world, the field of International Policy, culture, and working with people from other cultures. It contributed so much to how I developed as a person, how I travel, and how I live life, and the whole experience was incredibly eye-opening, both professionally and personally. I am incredibly glad that I decided to take part in this internship, it was one of the most amazing things I've gotten to be a part of.

I think Intern Abroad HQ was a great program because it provided and coordinated all that I needed. It was encouraging to not have to have every bit of my internship figured out and to know everything that was included would be reliable.

I really appreciated and enjoyed how the internship was flexible in a way that I could try out different areas of the hotel, working with different departments instead of staying with one the entire time. I made some really good friends while working there, so this allowed me to connect with people from different parts of the world, and they are people with the same or similar career goals.

I enjoyed the entire experience as I learned a lot about cybersecurity, mainly in encryption and the use of drones, which was really exciting. The culmination of new knowledge and hands on experience in programming DES, ciphers and drones has significantly aided in my professional development as I now have a whole new knowledge base in this field. Personally, this internship also helped me understand how these algorithms can be adapted to cater to international interests and a range of languages.

The Reserve Management & Research internship at the Kruger National Park made my future possible. My stay in South Africa exceeded my expectations as I learned so much while I was there, and I couldn't imagine a better experience for me. I stayed for 12 weeks, and each week brought new experiences, excitement, and people. I’ve learned so much about South Africa, reserve management, wildlife, poaching, ecology, and plant life. Before going to South Africa, I was unsure about which direction I wanted to go for my future. It is now crystal clear that I want to work in conservation in Africa.

I most definitely enjoyed the work I did in my internship the most. It was something that was really important and impactful for my career and interest as an immigration lawyer. I was able to learn how to properly communicate with clients and I got to learn the process of getting the necessary documents so that they can remain in Spain legally. It was truly a privilege and fantastic experience and opportunity for me. Additionally, this experience helped me develop and get an idea for what it means to communicate, work, write, and interact professionally with clients and colleagues alike. My internship opened my eyes to a new and efficient way to connect and work in immigration law. As well as opening my eyes to the limitless possibility of connecting to new people. My internship also helped me meet and work with new amazing people within the same interests as me. It’s something I will take with me for my future work to deepen my personal and professional development. I just want to say thank you so much for the help I received such as answering my questions and doubts that I had before and during my application process. They were answered very quickly and with a lot of information.

What I enjoyed the most during my Coral Restoration internship in Costa Rica was the people I met. It allowed me to make many friends from different walks of life and it helped develop my social skills.

This experience gave me a greater understanding of how organisations can work across borders to support communities. One of the most meaningful parts of my internship was learning about healthcare initiatives supporting refugee communities and international partnerships providing medical care to people affected by conflict and displacement. Seeing how resources can be used to improve the lives of both citizens and non-citizens showed me the impact that advocacy, collaboration, and compassion can have. I left Valencia feeling more motivated to pursue a career where I can contribute to positive change.

I want to thank you and your team for helping me get to my GIS & Reserve Management internship in South Africa and fulfill a lifelong dream. I loved every second of my time in the Gondwana Game Reserve and it applied directly to my career goals.Everything exceeded my expectations. I am incredibly grateful for my time in Valencia. Both my time with my host family and the staff at my placement allowed me to immerse myself in the Spanish language and culture while teaching me life and career skills that cannot be learned in a classroom. Rotating between nursing and the OR enabled observation of patient processing and medical decision-making from start to finish, pre-op to post-op.

My internship was incredibly rewarding, both personally and professionally. What I enjoyed most was learning in a small, close-knit environment, which gave me a very real perspective on what running a design business looks like. I had the chance to strengthen my AutoCAD skills, improve my efficiency and learn to embrace feedback and iteration without over-attaching to early versions. I also grew personally, building relationships and gaining confidence working in Italian. This experience confirmed my passion for interior design and architecture. If I could give one piece of advice to someone, it would be: trust the process, don't give up and enjoy every chance to learn. I'm incredibly grateful to my placement and everyone who supported me throughout this journey. Sarah was my Program Manager throughout the internship preparation. She was always available and answered my calls and emails very quickly, with clear and helpful feedback and advice.

The highlight for me was meeting so many new people, being immersed in a different culture, and gaining a first-hand insight into how another legal system operates. Personally it has helped me step outside my comfort zone and be more flexible, and professionally it has strengthened my understanding of international legal practice, developed useful skills, and been a strong addition to my cv.

My four weeks gave me real exposure to commercial and civil law practice in a Spanish firm. I worked on a range of matters, including drafting informes jurídicos, conducting jurisprudence research, and translating legal documents from Spanish to English. This hands-on experience sharpened my legal research and drafting skills and gave me valuable insight into how a boutique law firm operates day to day. It's confirmed my interest in commercial law and given me a much clearer sense of what a legal career could look like in practice. The pre-departure guidance from Intern Abroad HQ was clear, thorough and easy to follow. I felt genuinely well prepared before arriving in Barcelona, with all the practical information I needed about the placement, the city and what to expect. Communication in the lead-up was responsive, and I always knew who to contact if a question came up. Overall, the planning support gave me real confidence going into the internship.

My GIS & Reserve Management internship at the Gondwana Game Reserve in South Africa exceeded my expectations in both the knowledge I gained and the amazing views & animals I was fortunate enough to see. It was extremely an rewarding experience as I learned lots and my supervisors taught me so much about GIS and the wildlife here.

I have learnt how to do work online, draft appeals for clients whose cases have been denied, speak some Spanish, update clients about their cases, update the Spanish Bar Association database. Above that, I have learnt that time management, open mindedness, curiosity, confidence and asking questions are key to success. I want to extend my deeper appreciation for your help and guidance through this process. I have got immeasurable knowledge, understanding, work ethic, and experience through this internship. I am all over anew with the internship experience I received.

The internship absolutely met and exceeded my expectations. The experience itself was once in a lifetime and the people, food and general vibe of the camp was always amazing. Everything about this program felt so rewarding! I’ve made so many new friends from different countries around the world and gotten to experience little bits of their cultures. Being able to stay on a game reserve has been a spectacular experience, every day is different but seeing the wildlife everyday never gets boring. Being able to contribute to the research here and learn how different types of fieldwork and observations are done is really cool.

An amazing opportunity to experience the marine world and form new relationships. Everyone was incredible and I saw and learned a lot about marine animals in Sodwana Bay. On my first ever ocean dive, I got to see a manta ray & it was unforgettable!

What I enjoyed the most in my internship is getting to catalogue art pieces in the gallery, and learning how to make my own prints. I also enjoyed spending time with my host family, they were all very nice and accommodating. I got to practice my Spanish thoroughly during these 5 weeks. It was also fun to explore other cities in Spain over the weekends. I was always busy, learning, working and exploring. This is an experience that I will carry with me personally and professionally. Traveling on my own and navigating my way through a foreign country taught me several skills in culture, etiquette, and general street skills.

I definitely enjoyed meeting new people the most. Getting to talk to people about their life perspective/experiences and how things are similar or different based on my own experiences was really interesting to hear about. Having the opportunity to do an international internship has greatly contributed to my personal and professional development because not only am I more educated on a different cultural view, but I can take this and apply it elsewhere. All of the work I completed has helped me become a better person for future work purposes. My Program Manager Sarah was very patient and kind with me and answered all my questions.

My internship exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed the work far more than I thought I would and found myself invested in the project and its future. I was surprised by the amazing location of the camp and the incredible sightings. Mostly my experience was exceeded due to the people and the staff making it some of the most fun I’ve ever had! I really enjoyed meeting all the people involved in my Psychology internship and other internships. This experience has helped me to develop my independence and confidence as well as communication skills.

I truly enjoyed immersing myself in the local culture through the food, meaningful conversations with my homestay family, and exploring Cusco on my own. Amazing internship! Seeing the wildlife is incredible but the things you learn really make the experience. The more you understand the ecological processes you are witnessing the more you can appreciate how special it all is. I learned a great deal too!

I felt very supported when applying and leading up to the program. Any questions I had were answered within 24 hours. My Program Manager was amazing and she was able to help me with any questions or concerns I had. I enjoyed being able to create long-lasting friendships with people from all over the world and share the experience of coral restoration. Being able to scuba dive every day with my fellow interns and learn more about marine conservation felt surreal as I get to apply my knowledge and skills to my future career in the ocean conservation field. I will forever remember this experience and will continue to keep the friendships I have made during this amazing opportunity! Being exposed to new cultures will allow me to continue to be open-minded about future countries I visit, as this trip to Costa Rica allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and grow more independent as a person.

The team was responsive and answered all my questions promptly, which made me feel well prepared and confident before I left home. My host accommodation was welcoming and centrally located, making it easy to explore Seville during my free time. I most enjoyed the hands-on responsibilities I was given from day one, which pushed me to grow professionally and adapt quickly. Living and working in Seville also broadened my perspective, improved my Spanish, and gave me practical skills and confidence I'll carry into my career.

I enjoyed working with a diverse group of interns and supervisors through this experience. Everyone had been immersed in a different culture than me and so it was a great experience being able to learn from everyone. The work that we did was also very rewarding to me as an international business student. I enjoyed being able to work on different briefings for the government and helping out with major events like the Space Economy Congress in Barcelona. This internship will definitely be a core memory and a solid foundation to build upon as my undergraduate career comes to an end.

I believe this internship provided me with a much more unique experience than what I was expecting. Working in a holistic psychology practice, where themes of psychoneuroimmunology, family systems, and transpersonal psychology are all intertwined, opened my eyes to a side of therapy that isn’t taught in textbooks, and I’m sure this experience will influence how I practice in the future. Outside of work, living alone abroad taught me a lot about myself, the people I want to surround myself with, and what kind of experiences I value. I made connections with people from all over the world and traveled to 5 countries and countless cities. And along the way, I also improved my Spanish and picked up another language.

One thing that I found interesting in this internship is how warm and supportive the team is. Right from the beginning, despite the language barrier, the members made me feel a part of the team and they were always ready to answer any question and involve me in different processes within the patient treatment process. Finally, at the end of the internship, I felt as a valuable member of the team. From a professional point of view, this internship helped me develop my clinical skills in terms of observing and participating in the treatment of patients suffering from musculoskeletal injuries and sports injuries. Also, this internship gave me an opportunity to practice rehabilitation technologies, including Diamagnetic Pump Therapy, Compex, TENS, pressure boots, hot and cold compression boots. Additionally, during this period, I developed my clinical reasoning through discussion of the patient assessment with the help of my supervisor and prescribing rehabilitation exercises taking into account the right progression, regression, repetition, and sets. From a personal point of view, it helped me become more confident, adaptable and culturally competent. Working and living in another country, I learned how to overcome language barriers, effectively communicate with people of different nationalities and adjust to a new healthcare setting. Finally, the internship impacted my career plans by changing my perception of them. Initially, I did not think of becoming a sports physiotherapist at all and certainly did not expect to work abroad after I finish my studies. However, this experience made me interested in exploring opportunities related to sports physiotherapy and motivated me to think about the option of working in Europe after finishing my education.

I loved how my internship integrated me in the community and culture. It showed me the ins and outs of Tanzania, the local life and gave me the opportunity to learn a new language to better communicate and engage with the kids. My supervisor did an amazing job showing me what life in Tanzania is really like besides the tourist perspective and we worked as a great team. It helped me to find a real love for teaching sport where it’s valued most, where it isn’t accessible. I appreciated making a real difference and not just going for my own benefit but making a long lasting difference in the lives of those I met, and I’ll remember it and them forever.

Through my internship, I was able to gain a global perspective on healthcare by amercing myself in a local system. I now feel much better equipped to enter the healthcare field with a new passion for my future career. Being in Greece, I was able to travel easily to many destinations, giving me a new perspective on human interactions, an important aspect in healthcare. I feel even more comfortable interacting with physicians and medical professionals after completing my program with Intern Abroad! Overall, I had an amazing experience being able to get a glimpse into what my future in healthcare may look like.

This internship has helped me to grow on both a personal and professional level. Getting to be in a veterinary clinic and shadow and assist for 10 weeks has helped my understanding and confidence in the industry so much. Being able to stay abroad for a long amount of time was a personal dream of mine and it allowed me to travel and see more of the world in an affordable and enjoyable way. The way the internship is set up it lets you meet local people which helps you to gain understanding of the culture and day to day life of people in your study abroad location. You meet so many amazing people and get to dive into other communities. If I could, I would do this internship again in a heartbeat and can't wait to visit Poland again in the future.

What I enjoyed most about this internship was the fact that it was abroad (albeit online). Having internships where you're from is fun, but having an internship that's remote, in a country you're not used too, learning different techniques, and immersing yourself in a different culture is very interesting. I also enjoyed the flexibility that came with the remote internship because you could do it on your own time and created your own schedule. I also thinking that learning about photo identification and writing proposals was beneficially and gave me insight into what I want to do when I'm older.

Studying abroad in Greece was an unforgettable experience that challenged me to grow both personally and professionally. Living in a new country, navigating a different healthcare system, and connecting with people from diverse backgrounds strengthened my adaptability, cultural competence, and confidence. Beyond the clinical experience, some of my favorite memories came from exploring Greece, building lasting friendships, and immersing myself in the local culture. This experience broadened my perspective on healthcare and reinforced my passion for becoming a physician who provides compassionate, culturally informed care.

My Marketing & Communications internship in Tokyo (Japan) was one of my most rewarding experiences for my professional and academic journey. What I enjoyed the most was the opportunity to fully immerse myself in a new culture that I became deeply fond of while working alongside professionals who supported me in my career aspirations by giving me the independence and challenge to develop and lead work initiatives. This experience also allowed me to observe Japanese culture and develop an appreciation and understanding for their work ethic and respect that I will continue to implement in my future projects and in my personal life. Most importantly, this internship helped me confirm my love for traveling and my future career in international marketing.

The thing I enjoyed the most is that I got to meet so many people from various parts of the world who I deeply connected with, and shared some life changing experiences with. As for my professional development, I was able to gain more confidence and become more comfortable while talking with people. I would 100% do this again and I would advise anyone who wants to do this internship to do it.

I'm a current intern placed in Cusco, Peru through IVHQ, doing marketing and communications with a local organization. The process from application to arrival was clear and well organized, and the support has been genuinely responsive. What I enjoyed most about the Human Rights & NGO Support internship in South Africa was the people and the overall experience of being in a new environment. My host mom was great! She was very welcoming and took an interest in what I was doing and how I was feeling! She made it easier to be away from home for so long. The part I enjoyed most about this internship was the opportunity to work alongside the staff at the school farm and experience how animal care and agricultural education are approached in another country. I enjoyed building relationships with my coworkers, host family, and classmates, and learning how to communicate despite the language barrier. It pushed me outside of my comfort zone and helped me become more confident, independent, and adaptable. Professionally, the internship gave me valuable hands-on experience in an international setting and reinforced my passion for pursuing a career in Animal Science. Personally, it taught me to be more open-minded, appreciate different cultures and ways of life, and trust my ability to handle new challenges. This experience has given me skills and confidence that I will carry with me throughout my education and future career.

While deciding whether this was something I wanted to do or not I felt like I recieved a lot of advice and very timely responses to my emails. One of the things I enjoyed the most was seeing what is was like to work in this field. You really get the experience of showing up at 8 am everyday and that gave me a really good sense of what this career is like and helped me decide if this is something I want to pursue in the future.

This internship has truly given me the necessary tools to become more competent in my field. I feel as though I have developed both personally and professionally through the experience gained during my time in Spain. Stepping out of my comfort zone and interacting with experts on a daily basis or simply meeting new people and creating bonds were some key takeaways I will carry with me.

I truly wish I had spent the full 12 weeks in Ireland rather than only four. However, within that short time, I tried to fully immerse myself into the experience as much as possible. One of the things I appreciated most was that my internship was genuinely hands-on rather than simply shadowing someone the entire time. I was trusted with real responsibilities, projects, and problem-solving opportunities that allowed me to grow professionally and personally in ways I honestly did not expect. Before arriving, I had fears and uncertainties about whether I would be capable enough, experienced enough, or even if my age would affect how I fit into the program. Those fears quickly faded once I became immersed in the experience itself. This internship challenged me to adapt to unfamiliar environments, problem-solve independently, communicate within a new culture, and gain confidence in my own abilities. I was able to work on projects involving social media, marketing strategy, Google Ads troubleshooting, tourism promotion, and organizational systems while also learning more about Irish culture, history, and daily life. Personally, the experience had an even greater impact on me than I expected. Living abroad helped me become more independent, adaptable, confident, and willing to step outside of my comfort zone. It also deeply inspired me creatively as a writer and future author by exposing me to new places, stories, perspectives, and experiences. I am incredibly grateful that I took the leap and participated in the program despite my initial fears and uncertainties. It became one of the most impactful experiences of my life so far. If I were to offer one area of constructive feedback, it would be encouraging more visible student testimonials, experiences, and promotional content surrounding the program itself. Before applying, it was sometimes difficult to find detailed firsthand experiences or examples from previous participants, which initially made the program feel harder to fully research and trust from the outside looking in. Because of that, I think encouraging more students to share their internship experiences publicly through testimonials, videos, social media content, or alumni stories could greatly help future participants feel more confident and reassured during the decision-making process. Now having completed the program myself, I absolutely would recommend it to others and plan to share my own experience as well. I am genuinely grateful that I took the leap despite my initial hesitation, because it became one of the most impactful and transformative experiences of my life so far.

The GIS & Reserve Management internship at the Gondwana Game Reserve was great! I saw everything I wanted to see and learned a lot about QGIS. Learning all of the plants was unexpectedly my favorite part. It was an amazing way to experience the unique mix of flora and fauna in one of the most diverse and rare ecosystems in the world.

I absolutely adored my host family! Super kind and very welcoming, I am leaving with so many amazing memories with them! They made the stay that much better and easier. Being welcomed into a family with open arms was not what I was expecting, yet I will cherish it forever!! My internship was a great experience and I am leaving with a new mindset and understanding of mental healthcare!

I really enjoyed being able to explore and learn more about the healthcare system in a foreign country, it was a very eye-opening experience. The opportunity to shadow doctors and nurses was an amazing experience and taught me that compassion is seen in healthcare in every country. Overall great experience. The local team was friendly and I had a good experience at my work placement, too. I appreciated the perspective from living in another culture. I feel that I received the necessary support throughout the internship. Whenever doubts arose or we had questions regarding the assigned tasks, they were always available to answer our questions clearly and in a timely manner. What I enjoyed the most about this internship was the working dynamic with my partner; the challenge of receiving 'raw' projects from the company and having to research, debate, and solve real-world problems from scratch on our own. I feel very grateful for this experience and how lucky I was to be placed with such an amazing host family and in such a wonderful work environment at the physical therapy clinic. I feel as though InternHQ was extremely helpful throughout the whole process and offered a lot of helpful information to get me started in my new life. This internship was a lifechanging trip that truly helped me grow and mature as an individual. They spoke no English which was difficult at times but useful to help me practice, especially with other students. I enjoyed meeting new people and trying new things ultimately. I felt fully supported throughout and feels as thought I have improved many skills in this time, including the language. The internship will contribute towards my professional development because it helps to bring ‘sustainability’ to life for me in a real-life, different context. I enjoyed the level of responsibility in the internship too, for example presenting in meetings and in workshops. What I enjoyed most about this internship was the unexpected teaching experience and the variety of work I got to do. I went into the program not expecting to teach, but I was first asked to cover one class for a week while a teacher was away. I had mentioned that I am studying to become a teacher, so they gave me the opportunity, and I am really grateful for that. After that, they asked me to cover more classes, and I ended up teaching for about two weeks in total. This was a big learning experience for me, and it helped me build confidence, improve my communication skills, and gain real classroom experience that I didn’t expect to get. Alongside this, I also did administration work for one week at the beginning and again later in the program. This gave me a better understanding of how things are organized behind the scenes in an education setting. Overall, the mix of admin work and teaching made the internship very valuable, and I learned a lot more than I expected when I first started. This really helped me develop personally and professionally. I am so grateful for the opportunity.

I enjoyed meeting new friends and getting to know people who were also interested in my career and had the same goals as me. My three-week internship in Arusha, Tanzania contributed to my personal development by challenging me in ways I had never anticipated. From the moment I arrived, I was placed in unfamiliar situations that required me to adapt and remain open-minded. Although some situations was initially stressful and unfamiliar, it showed me the strength of the Tanzanian community and the willingness of people to help one another. It helped me develop emotional resilience and a deeper appreciation for life, family, and the responsibility nurses have to remain compassionate and professional during challenging circumstances. Professionally, this experience significantly broadened my understanding of what it means to be a nurse. Seeing the effects of preventable illnesses such as sepsis and HIV/AIDS, as well as working in an environment with limited resources, showed me that nursing is not only about having the best equipment or following an ideal set of circumstances. It requires critical thinking, adaptability, resourcefulness, teamwork, and the ability to provide the best care possible with what is available. Watching the nurses continue to care for their patients despite difficult circumstances taught me a great deal about dedication and resilience. I also learned that nursing involves caring for the whole person and their family, including providing compassion and support when the outcome cannot be changed. Overall, my time in Tanzania pushed me outside of my comfort zone, strengthened my confidence and adaptability, and gave me a greater appreciation for the privilege and responsibility of being a nurse. I will carry these experiences with me as I continue developing both personally and professionally.

I Had an amazing experience with InternAbroad HQ during my internship in Bali. I enjoyed every single moment of the journey. When I first applied to intern through intern abroad HQ, the description I was given said that I would mainly be shadowing therapists, which is great experience as a clinical psychology student. However, once I got to Madrid and began my internship I was blown away by the fact that I received my own clients. I was absolutely thrilled to be able to practice my communication and therapy skills on real people in addition to watching licensed therapists conduct their own sessions. Overall I could not have asked for a better experience and would absolutely intern through this company again.

My experience with InternHQ and my local team in Spain was great. I am a medical student and was looking for an internship that matches my profile and requests. I got assigned into a clinic and hospital for OB&GYN and I had a great time, learned a lot and felt very comfortable. In my internship, I gained surgical and research experience and was able to work and learn from surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses and residents. I also learned time management, collaboration and problem solving and how to work under pressure. Throughout my internship, I made not only professional connections, but also long lasting friendships and the best memories I will always cherish.

All the questions I had were answered quickly and thoroughly. Costa Rica was a truly amazing experience, I felt pretty nervous in the beginning when I just arrived because you don't know if you click with everyone. Then all these amazing people arrived and we all clicked, we planned multiple weekend trips with our group, which was amazing. All the people from the local team were truly amazing, the sweetest people, if you have a problem they are 100% ready to help you. They are interested in all their interns, I got some information for coral restoration people on Curacao, they helped with my research and complimented me on it. I can't imagine my live without having met these people, and the best part is that a lot want to come dive with me in Curacao. I mean that's just amazing!! Love all of them.

I just like the fact that the Youth Development & Education internship in Japan directly correlates to my professional and personal development. It not only combines my personal love of Japan and Japanese culture but also my professional goals of getting experience educating. The internship also relates to my major as my major is East Asian studies and being able to travel to East Asia benefits that study.

The thing I enjoyed the most is that I met some amazing people, even though it was virtual. I made new friends, gained connections, was able to connect and work with real clients, and work under supervision. This will contribute to my future as a psychotherapist, and help me with my skills when working with clients in person.

I really enjoyed exploring a new city whilst being able to gain valuable experience. My favourite part was learning about so many different cultures, through the friends I made there. My Program Manager was always quick to reply to my questions and very clear in her answers. I thoroughly enjoyed my internship, but the working culture was very different and way more relaxed than I was anticipating. Once I got the hang of it though, I really enjoyed having the flexibility. Overall I'm glad I did it, the homestay was nice, food and family were good, I met some wonderful people and became close with a lot of them and was able to explore Costa Rica with them. I definitely incorporated the Pura Vida lifestyle into my personal growth, in the sense I am more go with the flow now and that helps me be more open to opportunities and fun adventures. I think as I want to go into international aid and development having done this internship will look good on my CV, and I was able to gain new skills and have a nicely written reference letter from them. The biggest thing I would pass onto anyone else wanting to do this, is that you get out what you put in. Because of that you need to be able to work independently. But if you're looking for an experience where you get be immersed in another culture, meet people from around the world, spend a lot of time at the beach, get some work down and contribute to the local community through beach cleans, this is for you.

I had been researching internship programs for students when, fortunately, I came across Intern Abroad HQ. Through this internship, my supervisor and I worked together very effectively. I was able to focus on refining my skills in identifying marine organisms based on their physical characteristics, as well as learning about various habitats. Furthermore, I gained practical experience in calculating the biodiversity of a community through hands-on application. Although we encountered some minor issues regarding scheduling conflicts during the process, everything proceeded smoothly thanks to effective communication. Consequently, this internship not only helped me enhance desired skills, such as species identification and data analysis, but also taught me how to communicate effectively when working with a partner. One thing that Intern Abroad HQ does exceptionally well, in my experience, is allowing interns to engage in a thorough process of self-reflection following their internship. The reflection questions are rigorous and meaningful, prompting interns to think critically and reflect deeply on both themselves and the organization with which they collaborated.

I very much enjoyed the opportunity to engage in substantive legal work such as legal research and drafting. I learned to engage in real legal work, work under a supervisor (law firm partner), manage tasks in a timely and efficient manner, while at the same time studying Spanish law and the Spanish language. Honestly, I greatly enjoyed having the opportunity and independence to push myself out of my comfort zone to travel internationally on my own as a young woman trying to prepare for a career! I absolutely loved the GIS & Reserve Management internship and the memories I have gained from it will remain with me for life! Gaining proficiency in another software for GIS will greatly help me in my potential future field of work and has boosted my confidence in GIS. The Reserve Management & Research internship at the Kruger National Park in South Africa was awesome! It definitely exceeded my expectations and was very good! Seeing the wildlife is incredible but the things you learn really make the experience. The more you understand the ecological processes you are witnessing the more you can appreciate how special it all is.

One of the aspects I enjoyed most about my internship in Tanzania was the opportunity to immerse myself in a different culture while working closely with local community members and professionals. My Program Manager was very quick to respond to emails and would even call me to provide support. I loved seeing all the amazing animals not in small cages. They were free to go wherever they wanted which was so beautiful to see. I made such good friends here who i already miss and hope to see again! Doing my GIS & Reserve Management internship gave me more real life experience which will be so useful when finding a job.

I found it incredibly insightful to see how certain things in my field are carried out in a different country and culture. It was so eye-opening. I also loved meeting new people and integrating myself into the culture; the people who had been living in the same apartment building as me were so lovely and warm and welcoming and even invited me to their dinner. It was very memorable, and I enjoyed every second of it!! The internship alongside the doctor was also very informative; I got to do a lot of hands-on work and meet lots of new people. The island of Crete was so beautiful and felt very neighborly, and I really enjoyed looking at the views and taking walks in the central market.

This was the greatest experience of my life! I felt very lucky to be placed in such a great internship where my team took such good care of me. Additionally, my accommodation was amazing and I met some life-long friends through my shared apartment. It was nice to have everything set up for me even better than I could have expected. I honestly wish my internship was a bit longer.

The Media & Film Production internship was an excellent experience from start to finish. Through the tasks I have performed and the effort I have put forth, I feel more empowered to succeed in my chosen career field. My homestay family was awesome. My coworkers were engaging and interested in learning more about me, and in teaching me more about Australian culture as well as their own. I really enjoyed the city of Arusha, and I found it very interesting. I went on a safari in the Ngorogoro crater, and it was awesome. It was interesting to learn about new cultures.

I really enjoyed my remote internship in marine mammal research. I conducted a research project into Bottlenose and common dolphins. I did the 17 week part-time program so I had plenty of time to learn QGIS and start to get to grips with R. The skills I learned will be really valuable when I go on to study a PGCERT or Masters next.

I really enjoyed my time in Athens. On a professional level, I gained so much additional knowledge and feel confident knowing new material, terms, and information! It makes me feel more confident and excited for my future career. Personally, I feel like i've grown into a more mature person now being able to navigate a new country, alone, alongside new peers! I made so many new friends and memories. It was fantastic! The team were very communicative, helpful, and kind with any comment or concern I had.

My Marketing & Communications internship in Japan was a valuable experience that allowed me to develop my skills in marketing, communication, and teamwork. I enjoyed how this internship gave me insight into the cultural differences between Valencia and the UK, but also the rest of Spain. I loved meeting new people and understanding their culture while in Tanzania. I as enjoyed learning new methodologies and skills that can be contributed toward my professional development goals in future.

The cardiology team was incredible in constantly teaching me about cardiac conditions and explaining more complex concepts to me. They were very friendly and made sure that I felt welcome. There were also ample of opportunities for me to practice hands on skills, such as venepuncture, ECG and echocardiographies.

It was valuable to learn various methods and perspectives of sustainable farming via the remote Sustainable Farming internship (hosted out of Tanzania). I learned so many new techniques in the past 5 weeks that will be used daily in my life as a student and in my future career in international agriculture.

I’ve really enjoyed my internship experience. It was very hands-on. I got to work with marble carving, clay, and painting. It was a great opportunity, and I’m excited to include it in my portfolio and on my résumé. Athens is a beautiful city, and my local team was incredibly supportive. All of the coordinators were kind, helpful, and always available when I needed them.

I had a great time and learnt a lot. It is such a great initiative gathering people from all walks of life to share culture and diversity, while still bringing hope to people - especially through healthcare. I had great support from my Program Manager Ms Sarah, especially with coordination and guidance. My accommodation was great and comfortable.

I learnt how to complete tasks I had never done before and really enjoyed working in a different cultural environment. I loved the help I received from my Program Manager Sarah. In the GIS & Reserve Management internship at the Gondwana Game Reserve in South Africa, I got to learn a lot of new things; from all the plants to the animals. It was an experience of a lifetime and I got to spend quality time with people from all over the world. The camp managers were super helpful and taught me so much. I can definitely thank them for fueling my love for wildlife. It was an amazing experience!

I was glad to have Karen as my Internship Program Manager. Not only does she have a strong ethic but she was also familiar with the region and type of tasks I was doing. I enjoyed the Wildlife, Ecology & Anthropological Research internship in South Africa with the exotic environment and interesting natured animals around the camp. Social aspect wise, being with many other similarly aged good natured Europeans and friendly managers definitely made it easy to settle in quickly.

Working alongside such a passionate and experienced group of professionals has helped me grow in various aspects, both personally and professionally. This experience has taught me about the power of empathy, active listening, and mostly the importance of collaborative working.

When I first started co-op back in June 2022, my goal was clear: I wanted an international placement - whether in Canada or anywhere else in the world. After having little luck in the Canadian job market, I applied for an internship with Intern Abroad HQ in Bali, and it turned out to be another one of those best decisions I’ve ever made. Intern Abroad HQ arranged my housing, where I lived in a quiet neighbourhood among the locals, and I interned in Denpasar at a high-end Design Studio, as a Sales, Brand Partnerships, and Marketing Intern. During my time there, I gained hands-on experience with inventory tracking, barcoding systems, and cold outreach for brand partnerships across Bermuda, the US, and the UK. I also visited their retail store in Nusa Dua, where I shot, edited, and created Instagram reels to promote their products. Needless to say, I stayed busy! A huge thank-you to Intern Abroad HQ for making this experience so meaningful. I can’t wait to visit again soon.

I chose to intern abroad because I wanted professional experience not only in the arts, but also in working with people from different cultures. I wanted to learn from them, interact in a professional setting, and broaden my perspective. During my internship, I had the chance to learn from many different artists. I enjoyed this internship more than I expected. The GIS & Reserve Management internship at the Gondwana Game Reserve in South Africa has given me valuable experience with GIS software as it relates to wildlife conservation. I enjoyed working on a real-world project and getting to feel immersed in the reserve with all of the field work and being based within the reserve. I feel much more empowered in my field after gaining hands-on experience applying GIS to real conservation challenges, such as assessing the suitability of the reserve for black rhino reintroduction. Using GIS to analyse habitat conditions, map vegetation, and evaluate environmental threats gave me practical skills directly relevant to modern wildlife management. Beyond GIS, learning various field data collection techniques broadened my understanding of how spatial data is gathered and validated, which will be invaluable in future projects. Equally important was the opportunity to work alongside people from diverse backgrounds, which sharpened my communication and teamwork skills within an international conservation context.

What I enjoyed the most during this internship were the people I met and the personal connections that formed outside of the work itself. Those moments made my time abroad feel meaningful on a human level, not just a professional one. In terms of personal and professional development, the internship helped me in a more subtle way. The remote Introduction to Counseling Skills internship (hosted out of India) was much more comfortable than I thought as I can start my day whenever I'd like - this helps it feel less school-like with attendance. It's all about getting your tasks in, which I prefer to have my own schedule every week. I love seeing the different counseling techniques and alternative therapies used within counseling to help clients. Another thing I will highlight is the research requirement through all my case reports, I find it rewarding to find myself a topic to research on and write about in my case reports. I am proud to say that I will enter my Master's program this coming spring readily and more eager to deep dive into counseling better than before. The remote internship really helped to motivate me to improve my personal and professional development as a person and as an aspiring counsellor. I really enjoyed doing my own research through the case reports; personally finding something to research through each case report has helped me learn about the subject and the techniques involved.

My accountant internship has been an incredibly rewarding experience that exceeded my expectations both personally and professionally. What I enjoyed most was the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real world situations. Being able to work hands on with financial statements. The remote Legal Support for Human Rights Advocacy internship (hosted out of Tanzania) has empowered to be successful in my field as I learned a lot from my supervisor and I enjoyed that the most. I conducted relevant legal research in a foreign country to the standards of my peers. I have the confidence to tackle any challenge within the legal field. The internship also strengthened my passion for law and justice. It allowed me to see firsthand how legal systems operate in a different cultural and economic context, and it challenged me to think critically about fairness, access to justice, and professional ethics from that foreign environment.

I received great support and guidance all through the Marine Biology internship in Spain. My supervisors were absolutely amazing! They were the most knowledgeable instructors I could have asked for. I have nothing but positive things to say about them! We spent a lot of time diving and learning important things in the classroom. It was a well-built internship and a great overview of what marine biology looks like in the field. I also loved the hostel—its owners are super sweet, and I made friendships and connections in Los Cristianos that will last forever. I’m actually going back there for Christmas :)) I definitely recommend this internship to anyone!

I enjoyed my internship program very much! The farm where I worked was a very lovely place, with a peaceful atmosphere, full of vegetables, fruits, vineyards, olive groves, and animals. I learned many new methods and technologies from my teacher, Pedro. The head of the farm, Sara, is a very friendly and modern person whose hard work and strong discipline in inspiring people and young children to love organic approaches and the environment is truly inspiring to me.

I loved being in New Jersey and in Manhattan. In New Jersey I spent a lot of time with the family and the roommates, in Manhattan I was working in an immigration law firm, where I got to see the behind-the-scenes aspects of how law is practiced. I learned how cases are prepared, how to scan the mail, how to organise the petitions. Overall, this internship not only helped me grow in my professional journey but it also enriched my personal life in a memorable way. The relationships I had brought a sense of belonging that made the busy days in Manhattan even more rewarding. It showed me that I could be on another continent and everything will still be okay, that they are good people out there, and you can rely on them. I have a lot of tenderness when I think about this summer.

During my internship and cultural experience in Valencia, I have grown a lot professionally and personally. I have acquired clinical skills and enhanced my communication, improved my teamwork contribution and my approach with clients. I personally think that I have improved my social skills, as I have made friends from all over the world and interacted with social activities which was out of my comfort zone that I am used to. I received all the necessary information beforehand, which was really helpful when I arrived in Valencia. I received information about how to contact my host family, so they could know the time I would be arriving. Also, I got informed about my clinic placement and Spanish classes. I had an amazing experience with my host family. I felt like I was home and so welcomed while staying with them. The meals were delicious and I could easily talk with my host family too. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and I would definitely do another next internship abroad.

My Sustainable Business & Tourism internship in Costa Rica gave me so many opportunities to meet new people, get out into nature, and learn about sustainability! It was so beautiful and I'd do it again for sure!

I had a great experience with my remote Social Work & NGO Support (hosted out of Tanzania) as I was able to learn a lot about the type of work the host organization does as a human rights organization, from the big picture, to how they complete smaller tasks. I appreciated the most how I was able to gain cultural knowledge and exposure, as I saw how they viewed and dealt with various issues differently from a different international perspective, which was really interesting to me. I definitely have gained skills in communication, as well as working with people from different backgrounds, so thank you for the opportunity!

I really enjoyed the opportunity to socialize and take part in activities with other interns, which created a strong sense of community and made the experience even more enriching. This internship also gave me the chance to travel and see the world through a new lens—experiencing life from the perspective of Spanish culture, which broadened my outlook both personally and professionally. Intern abroad found me an internship I really enjoyed doing! All my conditions that I wanted were met and the company that I did my internship with were also very good. The support I received from intern abroad was also great- I could always reach out via email and even had support during my interview. Although it may seem expensive I definitely thought the experience was worth it.

My favorite part of the internship was going on boat trips and doing real marine mammal research, but I also loved meeting interns from all over the world and learning from their different backgrounds. This internship has allowed me to gain incredible insight into the inner workings of NGO's as well as the relationships and collaborative efforts between organisations with the same goals. It has given me confidence both in my ability to acclimate and contribute to different work environments and has also made me more confident in traveling independently and exploring countries with vast cultural and linguistic differences from that which i am used to.

Being able to have the flexibility working both in office and more hands on in warehouse fully understanding what processes and considerations you need to think of in a start up, which you would not necessarily think of for a company who has been established for a while. This contributed to my development both professionally and personally as I had to adapt, lead, and be more open to take on more challenges which would be beneficial to the future as I have experienced it before and so I wouldn't be as unsure with myself but instead have confidence to get involved.

I enjoyed doing my placement at my lab as it helped me gain further insight into different lab tests performed. I’ve definitely gained more confidence adapting to unfamiliar environments and I am happy I decided to step out of my comfort zone. I believe it helped me grow as a person.

Thanks to the open communication Intern Abroad HQ provided, it was easy to plan my travels in advance and explore the country, which helped me better understand the culture. What I enjoyed the most about the Journalism & Publishing Media internship in South Korea was the opportunity to meet and intern with such a diverse group of people. The mix of cultures, ideas and experiences made every day exciting and inspiring. Personally, it helped me grow more confident in expressing myself and stepping into new situations without hesitation. Professionally, I developed practical skills, learned how to adapt quickly and gained a clearer sense of direction for my future path. Overall, the program gave me both valuable experience and lasting memories that I’ll carry forward.

My internship placement in Barcelona, Spain was so welcoming and I couldn't have had a better internship experience. I never felt excluded or isolated because of the language barrier. This internship contributed enormously to both my personal and professional development. Personally, it pushed me outside my comfort zone and strengthened my adaptability, cultural awareness, and resilience in new environments. Professionally, I gained hands-on experience in diverse mental health services, from conducting assessments and follow-ups to assisting in the methadone clinic and supporting patients in recovery. I am very satisfied with my experience with Intern Abroad HQ. It was everything I was looking for in an international internship program. I also loved my in-country local team. This past summer I had the amazing opportunity to intern in Athens, Greece. During my internship, I worked with patients in a gym/clinic setting, shadowed surgeries, and worked one on one in an inpatient setting. I worked alongside the head Physical Therapist to help assist patients in their bed to increase strength and better their range of motion. Whether it was recovering from a knee replacement surgery or a cancer patient learning how to walk again, each case was very unique in its own ways. This was a very eye opening experience for me working with these patients and making sure they get to where they need to be. During my time in the hospital, my understanding and knowledge of the importance of inpatient physical therapists grew exponentially. I also had the honor of scrubbing in for a surgery and assisting the doctor in successfully operating an ulnar nerve decompression. I am extremely thankful for the opportunity given to me by Intern Abroad HQ and I look forward to applying what I learned in future settings.

One of the things I enjoyed most about the remote Legal Support for Human Rights Advocacy internship (hosted out of Tanzania) was the opportunity to engage directly with local communities and witness the real-world impact of what we discussed and learned about. I thoroughly enjoyed my placement, as it provided valuable opportunities for both personal and professional development. For me, getting my dive certification was the most important aspect, but to also obtain academic credits along the way topped it all. The people were amazing and always waved as I walked everyday to the marina and back. Cleaning the beach, my zipline excursions, and to look down as a turtle swims next to me was amazing. My international nursing placement in Morocco has been one of the most transformative experiences of my training so far. Nancy and Jaime were wonderful hosts and encouraged me to explore Belize while also being focused on the animals. The meals that we got on weekdays were always very good and filling. Being taken around San Ignacio on the morning of my second day helped me to learn more about the area and feel more comfortable and better adjust. I immediately felt welcomed by the whole family and the other interns, and I could not have asked for a better experience!

Everything was perfect, I felt so welcomed by everyone from the program, the accommodation, the internship and those at Intern Abroad HQ. I had an amazing experience, I will totally recommend it, or do it again myself.

I also feel that this can only be accomplished by working abroad. From working in the U.S., you get used to working with American employees, so there isn't much of a cultural difference. However, from adapting and working with Indonesian employees, it helps me get a better understanding of how to work with different cultures better.

I enjoyed exploring the culture in Spain the most. I choose to intern in Japan because I was really interested in learning a lot about the culture. The culture is very unique and very different to where I’m from, so I really wanted a chance to involve myself in that and experience what it’s like to live in Japan, and to also see the really beautiful sights that they have here. My internship was at a daycare centre. This program helped me in my personal and professional development, mainly with my communication skills. Because the children speak Japanese and I don’t, and at first, that was a big challenge to overcome, but I learned that facial expressions and gestures go a long way when talking to children and I was able to make good friendships even with people who did not speak the same language as, so it definitely helped with my communication skills. My advice for future interns is to come here confident and to be prepared to adjust to new situations.

It was a fantastic experience overall, and a great opportunity to try something new outside my comfort zone. Being able to work in a hospital with children was a great way to test my knowledge of Spanish - and also a fantastic opportunity to meet new people and interact in an unfamiliar environment. Also having the chance to volunteer at a refugee centre was something I wish I could have done for longer. I really felt that being there was meaningful and made a genuine difference, and it was incredibly eye-opening to hear some of the experiences of those there. I will definitely seek out similar experiences in my home city; it gave me a sense that helping others is possible in ways I couldn't perhaps have imagined prior to my internship. It gives you hope - you know there are good people doing good things for no personal gain.

What I enjoyed the most about my internship in Costa Rica were the trails and sightseeings. This experience definitely helped improve my English skills and made me want to work more for an environmental purpose.

I gained a lot from the Marketing & Communications internship in Japan. learned how to create attractive promotional videos and posters and got to know the popular trends in the marketing aspect of IG. This will be very helpful for the marketing work I want in the future. I’m proud to share that I’ve reached the end of my 4-week Medical internship in Thessaloniki, Greece. I never expected an internship to change me this much. My first two weeks started in the Department of Nuclear Medicine, where I had the opportunity to be involved in PET/CT and SPECT/CT scans used to diagnose Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and other forms of dementia. I developed a foundational understanding of how imaging techniques such as myocardial perfusion, bone scans, and infection imaging contribute to diagnosing both neurological and systemic conditions. My background in cognitive and behavioral sciences helped me appreciate the significance of these radiological findings in neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders, deepening my understanding of brain–behavior relationships in clinical settings. In the final two weeks, I had the privilege of shadowing in the Department of Neurology, where I observed a wide range of conditions including stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, myopathies, and Alzheimer’s disease. I joined ward rounds, attended patient consultations, and took part in team discussions, learning how neurologists conduct differential diagnoses and perform neurological exams to localize damage in the brain and spinal cord. I also encountered complex cases involving aphasia, cognitive decline, and neuroimaging analysis. This internship wasn’t just academically stimulating — it was emotionally challenging. Going from studying neurological disorders in a university classroom, to seeing the human side of these diagnoses was deeply impactful. There were moments I wasn’t sure I had it in me, to walk into rooms that felt heavy, to witness pain I couldn’t fix, or to stay grounded when the reality of medicine felt overwhelming. But it also solidified my love for neuroscience and strengthened my drive to use that knowledge to help others — even in the smallest, most meaningful ways. All this wouldn’t be possible without my fellow interns, thank you for making this internship so special. Getting the opportunity to travel to a new place, meet new people, and learn how to further my skills in my chosen field was extremely beneficial for me. As I said, I got to really learn the graphic design programs super well, which was very important. Also, the program was the perfect thing for the point in my life because I am about to head off to college, and I now have experience with living with a roommate, being conscious of my spending, and using my graphic design skills to complete projects.

What I enjoyed most about this remote Solar Energy internship (hosted out of Tanzania) was seeing one of the project sites and realizing how the tasks I was doing was being applied in the real world. It made everything feel more meaningful and impactful. Professionally, I gained a deeper understanding of how solar energy systems are designed and how each component plays a role. Personally, I became more confident in asking questions, communicating remotely, and staying engaged. This experience helped me grow both technically and as a future engineer.

I had an incredible experience in Cordoba, Argentina. My internship taught me about the political impact I can personally have in these contexts and my ability to adapt quickly. I worked on a project that educates local government bodies on Migration management and had the chance to meet with the ambassador of Costa Rica. I learnt about a whole new way of expressing and receiving love on a grand scale and will forever be grateful for my Program Manager and Local Team for making this possible. Thank you!

The internship placement was perfectly aligned with my career goals, I am very grateful for the opportunity to have work with such an amazing placement and develop both my educational design skills and my Spanish language. The placement pushed me both professionally and in terms of communication, with all conversation (at work and at home) being in Spanish - I am very grateful for this and feel that my language level has greatly increased as a result. Whilst of course there were challenging moments, in terms of communication and comfort zones, overall the experience of living abroad and immersing myself in the culture has been invaluable - I look forward to utilising all of the skills I have learned in future employment. It was my first time interacting with a company professionally in a work setting, and I feel like I learnt a lot from this experience in terms of remote work life. My remote internship was incredibly valuable, as it allowed me to contribute to the early stages of developing an image analysis model—specifically, the pre-training phase. I gained insight into the data cleaning process and became familiar with the pre-processing pipeline, which is a critical step in preparing data for machine learning. This experience has given me practical knowledge that I know will be useful in my future career.

I loved getting to shadow, learn from, and help such an amazing doctor! My host family was fantastic and even helped me travel around Costa Rica. I learned so much about medicine and being a physician and grew so much as a person, as well as grew significantly in my Spanish skills!

I was grateful that I was able to observe real client-counsellor interactions and sessions, this gave me knowledge on the structure and communication style of counseling sessions and helped me learn to observe behavior. Learning about autism and women's empowerment in particular, will help me with my future career as well as all of the relevant skills I developed along the way. I found the Intern Abroad HQ portal very useful as it contained all of the information I needed to know about the internship in one place. It prepared me well and gave me insight into what I should expect. When I started my internship, any queries that I had, I was able to contact my supervisor and these were resolved almost immediately.

My internship hosted a summer camp for kids during the second week I was there, so I was able to get hands on experiences and see their projects in action. I traveled to Benicassim where Danish and Spanish kids attended a week long camp full of fun activities. My company's goal was to see if changing the environment of these kids who are heading towards the criminal justice system. I enjoyed spending time with these kids who are in need of a loving environment and seeing them blossom as the week progressed.

What I enjoyed most about this internship was meeting new people and building meaningful friendships. I also loved exploring Spain and experiencing its culture firsthand. I’m grateful to have had this internship opportunity within my major, as it not only taught me new skills but also contributed significantly to both my personal growth and professional development.

I enjoyed learning about the local culture. Even though it was a big culture shock, I managed to embrace new things which left me feeling humble. This internship has contributed towards my personal development by introducing me to new things. and example of this would be the food. It was very different to the food I would have back home but I was grateful to try new Zanzibar cuisine. This internship helped me professionally because I was able to gain new skills and attributes and it showed me how I can be confident about helping out with others in different countries. My accommodation was kept organized and clean at all times. I was very much impressed. Everyone in intern HQ was very helpful and answered all of my questions.

Through this Remote Marketing & Communications (hosted out of Japan), I was able to learn many new things that I couldn't have even imagined I would have, to start with. The sign-up process was smooth and flawless, and I was able to start my remote internship as soon as I wanted. I was then able to apply my skills to learn more and gain expertise in the area that interested me. This real-world experience gave me insight into what I would be doing in the future, so it helped me a lot.

I loved all the different aspects that I got to experience from this internship. Being in a new country and meeting several new people who are involved in various aspects of people's mental health and well-being was an incredibly rewarding experience. I filled a notebook with many new insights on helpful tactics that can help to improve people's overall mental wellbeing. The ability to immerse myself in Argentine culture was highly educational and enjoyable. I interned with IAHQ after having just earned my degree in international relations and was eagerly looking for my first role post-college. Having several study abroad experiences already, I set my sights on positions outside the US. That's where IAHQ came in. It was through my work as an intern that I found a full-time job to stay in Cusco! I became a coordinator for a tourism agency there and stayed for about two more years. This internship was a fantastic experience! My internship placement was great, and what I learned will be applicable to future education and a future career. I also learned about traumatology, rheumatology, rehabilitation, plastic surgery, neurophysiology, and tendon graft surgeries. This newfound knowledge allowed me to compare and contrast the American and Spanish healthcare systems as well. Another aspect of this internship that I enjoyed was the time off on the weekends. I was able to travel to Madrid, Barcelona, and Alicante for the festival of San Juan. These experiences were amazing, and I was able to learn about Spanish culture while I traveled on the weekends. Finally, I was able to learn more Spanish while I was in Spain. I learned medical Spanish while I interned at a hospital and more common Spanish when I was at home with my host family. I can confidently say that my time in Spain changed me both personally and professionally, and I would highly recommend this experience!

I have so many amazing memories from my internship but what stands out most were the people. I loved spending time with everyone I met! I was treated like family, and I feel like I have a home in Tanzania. I enjoyed the balance between work and free time as it allowed me to explore the diverse culture of the country. I enjoyed the structure of the program immensely. I felt like they provided a perfect combination of work-related experience, cultural activites, Spanish lessons, and free time so we were able to explore on our own. Generally, I felt very well taken care of by the program coordinators, and I felt like they were always there to help me whenever I needed anything! This program helped me develop my personal and professional goals by providing me the study abroad experience I had always wanted, while still helping me learn about my career of interest. I loved the whole set up of the program. Getting to meet new people each week, while growing relationships with those who id already met there, was amazing. The work itself was great as well and I am definitely prone to coming back!
