Affordable Remote Marketing Internships | Intern Abroad HQ

My remote internship allowed me to gain valuable experience and learn how to collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds. Teamwork was essential, and through working closely with others, I was able to deepen my knowledge and explore different perspectives offered by my team members.

Through this Remote Marketing & Communications (hosted out of Japan), I was able to learn many new things that I couldn't have even imagined I would have, to start with. The sign-up process was smooth and flawless, and I was able to start my remote internship as soon as I wanted. I was then able to apply my skills to learn more and gain expertise in the area that interested me. This real-world experience gave me insight into what I would be doing in the future, so it helped me a lot.

This placement with Intern Abroad HQ has contributed towards my university placement year and has also prepared me for my following placement in Greece where I will completing similar work and activities.

During my remote Communications & Digital Marketing internship, I was tasked with creating blog posts about Italian travel tips, tours, history, culture and more for a touring company. My experience allowed me to really utilise my blog making skills and enhance my knowledge of Italian culture, including all the cool things you can see and do when you visit. I feel so much more confident in my writing skills, and my ability to be creative and passionate about a topic. The marketing skills I have picked up will go a long way when applying for jobs in future.

The first week of my internship was very positive. I was expecting to be intimidated at first, but found myself in a very open, friendly and welcoming environment. After a few days, I was already feeling comfortable in my new position. My long-term goal is to work in Digital Marketing as an entrepreneur, so working for a company that already has an established online presence was very helpful for my professional progress. Some of my tasks involved creating SEO-friendly product descriptions and blog articles and reviewing old product descriptions to improve SEO. This helped benefit the organization by streamlining tasks for current employees, and in the long term by improving the website’s visibility on search engines. I learned a lot of new skills during my internship, including how to perform SEO and Digital Marketing in an online store context. I also spent time learning how to create SEO-friendly product descriptions and how to set up an Amazon store. All these skills will be very useful in my future Digital Marketing entrepreneurial activities.

My remote internship role was related to looking for and identifying appropriate funding opportunities, in order to support NGO organizations that are focused on gender inequalities in Guatemala. The NGO that I interned with is focused on fostering the ability of girls to discover their truest selves. The organization therefore works to develop skills, knowledge, confidence and courage, so that girls have the resources to make informed life choices. My remote internship role contributed to the goals of the organization, by enhancing it's exposure and platform. During the remote internship, I learned about how girls are impacted by gender discrimination. I also learned how boys can be taught to recognize and overcome negative gender stereotypes as well, with the aim of producing more equitable communities. I feel more empowered in my field (of International Business Development) because I have learnt that society functions better as a whole and tasks are not set in stone for a particular gender to tackle but anyone can do them equally well. My most significant learning points were overcoming gender roles where expected behaviours for men and women are dictated by the media and society. I learned about how youth are taught to become positive agents of change. I also enhanced my understanding of human rights.

I would love to pursue a career in broadcast journalism, whether that be in radio or television, and this internship has helped develop skills critical to this field such as interviewing, audio recording and editing, story writing, background research and fact gathering. I feel so much more empowered in the field of journalism, both in the development of new skills, but also in having my work published and aired by a well-established radio station. This station recognized my work ethic and potential, and allowed me to bring my visions to life. I am extremely thankful for this opportunity and the ways it has helped me feel more motivated, established and confident in my abilities. For future interns, I think it is really important to keep up the communication with your intern supervisor and the company or organisation you are interning with. Being dependent on your own time management skills is a big component of any internship you do, and being communicative is very helpful on both ends. I also think that asking for help and feedback when needed is crucial for your own success, and truly getting the most out of the program!

My internship experience has been engaging. I thought there would be problems communicating, but everyone I worked with was clear and well spoken. The quality of my work and how I went about completing my projects was entirely up to me. I had a high degree of freedom when it came to the quality of my work. During my 5 weeks I was involved in researching marketing techniques, creating marketing strategies, and identifying ways to market to different countries. All of these duties helped my organization expand their brand and penetrate international markets. Through this internship I have learned many skills. I have improved my ability to research and answer questions. I have improved my ability to organize content. I have improved my ability to give presentations. I have also learned how to be self-motivated and manage my time in a way that ensures I get all of my tasks completed. My favorite memory from the internship has been feeling like a part of a team. I have enjoyed learning about my organisation's history and working with their international marketing department. It has been a very enjoyable and a rewarding experience.

My experience on the remote internship this first week has been extremely busy! While I took a “part-time” internship, I found myself working much more than what I had originally thought. I am really loving working in this industry and find it extremely insightful. This first week has been dedicated to researching all about the club I am working for, Villarreal CF, and about the professional football industry as a whole. I think I learned more this week about football than I have in my entire life. I am proud of what I have been able to accomplish so far, since I put in much more work than my part-time hours. Since I am working remotely, the “memorable moments” of this internship will be quite different than a typical placement. For me, getting to research “Premier League” and write about it was a “pinch-me” moment. It is my favourite league and to get to learn and write about it was quite incredible.

I chose to intern with Intern Abroad HQ because from the beginning, they were very honest, responsive and flexible. After I applied for the internship, I was contacted by Dallas from Intern Abroad HQ and she helped me along with the enrolment process. My first choice was a Marketing & Communications internship with the professional soccer team known as Villarreal CF in Spain. After I was guaranteed placement in the program, it was a no brainer for me because I have always had a passion for soccer. I have a bachelor’s degree in Communications and this internship has allowed me to get exposure in the sports industry for the first time ever, at a global level. I am very happy with Intern Abroad HQ’s ability to work with me and allowing me to gain this once in a lifetime opportunity. One of the benefits of interning remotely is the easy accessibility to your manager. They are more likely to view and respond to your questions instantly. Easy accessibility leads towards more productive and meaningful discussions. Being able to work from a place of comfort allows for a greater level of concentration and flexibility which in return affects your overall work. My goal coming into this internship was to gain a foundation of international marketing and communications and this internship has allowed me to do that. To anyone considering doing a remote internship with Intern Abroad HQ, I would say “what are you waiting for!” I would not only look at it as an internship placement but also as an investment opportunity.
