The internship helped me grow a lot personally. I developed confidence in using the English language and got to know many wonderful people. The professional insights were admittedly different from what I had expected, but I still gained an understanding of how marine biologists work. I would choose to do such an internship again anytime.

What I enjoyed the most during my internship was conducting marine surveys, where I had the opportunity to examine fish in the field. This hands-on research experience was both engaging and rewarding. Beyond this, the internship allowed me to meet and collaborate with people from diverse countries, which greatly enhanced my communication skills and confidence. Overall, the experience contributed significantly to my personal growth and has prepared me with valuable skills for my future career.

My favorite part of the internship was going on boat trips and doing real marine mammal research, but I also loved meeting interns from all over the world and learning from their different backgrounds. The experience gave me more confidence in myself and confirmed that I want to keep working in environmental conservation.

I just finished 2 months and I could not be more proud to have been apart of an institute. I loved being a part of an institute that values conservation and sustainability as greatly. From the desk work to the boat surveys that I was privileged enough to participate on, everything felt immensely rewarding and exciting. Everyone is super supportive and encouraging and foster such an amazing environment to learn and grow as a scientists and advocates. Thanks to this internship, I have developed countless new skills and have met so many incredible people. I would absolutely recommend this internship to anyone who wants to be involved in conservation and environmental research.
