I definitely enjoyed meeting new people the most. Getting to talk to people about their life perspective/experiences and how things are similar or different based on my own experiences was really interesting to hear about. Having the opportunity to do an international internship has greatly contributed to my personal and professional development because not only am I more educated on a different cultural view, but I can take this and apply it elsewhere. All of the work I completed has helped me become a better person for future work purposes. My Program Manager Sarah was very patient and kind with me and answered all my questions.

Everything was perfect, I felt so welcomed by everyone from the program, the accommodation, the internship and those at Intern Abroad HQ. I had an amazing experience, I will totally recommend it, or do it again myself.

I joined the Social Work & Education internship in Zanzibar, Tanzania, through the Intern Abroad HQ x Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University Study Abroad Youth Education & NGO Support Program. This summer has been saturated with personal and professional growth. I am forever grateful for the lessons learned and the communities(local and global) that have shaped me along the way.

I enjoyed learning about the local culture. Even though it was a big culture shock, I managed to embrace new things which left me feeling humble. This internship has contributed towards my personal development by introducing me to new things. and example of this would be the food. It was very different to the food I would have back home but I was grateful to try new Zanzibar cuisine. This internship helped me professionally because I was able to gain new skills and attributes and it showed me how I can be confident about helping out with others in different countries. My accommodation was kept organized and clean at all times. I was very much impressed. Everyone in intern HQ was very helpful and answered all of my questions.

As a result of this internship in Zanzibar, I feel more equipped with practical skills, such as cultural competence, active listening, and emotional resilience, which are critical for building trust and supporting vulnerable populations. The experience has shown me the importance of humility, patience, and adaptability - qualities that will help me navigate diverse social contexts and advocate sensitively and effectively.

I truly enjoyed my experience as a whole. I am so grateful for this opportunity as it has allowed me to grow as a person as well as gain more experience within nursing abroad. I have been able to work alongside doctors and nurses in a hospital setting while also enjoying my personal time. I would recommend to anyone who is thinking of doing an internship abroad!

I enjoyed the balance between work and free time as it allowed me to explore the diverse culture of the country. My host mother was so welcoming, she made with pride all the meals that we ate and if I said that something was delicious she was always so keen to make it again. Due to the care that I received from her and her family I did not feel homesick at all!

I enjoyed learning about the culture and expanding my knowledge, and having the experience to learn new things. This has contributed to-wards my personal and professional development as it has gave me the ability to learn and develop new knowledge, try new food and experience new culture. All of the staff were amazing and very helpful. My homestay was very clean and beautiful and had all the facilities.

I loved the whole experience's and have defiantly learnt a lot! At the beginning of the process I sent multiple emails asking for clarity. I always received a quick response from my Program Manager. I think when placing interns its important to consider individuals health needs, which was definitely done in my case.
