Stepping outside my comfort zone
January 17, 2026by: Aidan PetersonWhat I enjoyed most about this internship was the opportunity to step outside my comfort zone and engage in a professional environment that challenged my assumptions and routines. Being exposed to a new workplace culture and real responsibilities early on pushed me to adapt quickly, communicate more intentionally, and take greater ownership of my work. I found the learning curve motivating rather than intimidating, especially as I became more confident navigating expectations and contributing to day-to-day tasks.
This internship played a significant role in my personal and professional development.
November 25, 2025by: Mohammed Saeed WadiwalaMy accountant internship has been an incredibly rewarding experience that exceeded my expectations both personally and professionally. What I enjoyed most was the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real world situations. Being able to work hands on with financial statements. This internship played a significant role in my personal and professional development. I learned how to manage my time effectively, communicate clearly in a professional setting, and stay organized while handling multiple responsibilities. Most importantly, it gave me clarity about my career path and reaffirmed my passion for accounting.
I found good opportunity to grow
January 09, 2025by: Naga Jyothi Sameera Giri - IndiaIt was a great experience searching online for internships and got one way easily, and I am very exited to work along. Feels like this is a good website to gain insights and improve skills with this internship
Enhanced my understanding of other culture
August 26, 2024by: Ryan BialoruckiI enjoyed meeting people of different backgrounds as well as putting myself in a difficult position due to the language barrier for my internship. The internship has helped with my communication skills and enhanced my understanding of other cultures. I now feel much more confident applying to jobs I wouldn't have before as well as achieving tasks I couldn't in the workplace before.
The internship has contributed towards my presentation and communication skills.
July 07, 2024by: Sen KuoI enjoyed doing presentations the most as I got to share my perspective and opinions of certain topics. The internship with Intern Abroad HQ has contributed towards my presentation and communication skills.
This internship helped me gain valuable skills
July 04, 2024by: Samuel Chen ChenThe guidance that I received from my Program Manager was helpful for me to navigate the process of the internship. During the internship, I enjoyed discussions with my internship mentor on the various topics related to Microfinance. This internship helped me gain valuable skills such as crafting business plans and effective communication, which have contributed to my personal and professional development.
A truly rewarding experience.
July 04, 2024by: Griffin SchultzEverything was very organized and structured, yet I was still given a considerable amount of freedom in how I wanted to go about tasks and get things accomplished. Everyone in my host organization treated me as an equal and not simply an intern, and I was free to contribute my own ideas and dive into topics that really interested me. My remote Microfinance internship through Intern Abroad was a truly rewarding experience. I gained valuable knowledge and skills while contributing to a meaningful organization. I really appreciated the supportive and collaborative work environment at the organization and I felt encouraged to ask questions and take on new challenges. I would definitely recommend this internship to anyone interested in microfinance or community banking projects in the development space. The support from Intern Abroad was exceptionally and I would highly recommend them.

Incredible experience
August 13, 2023by: Honour BudimanI would highly recommend doing an accounting internship in New York for anyone who is looking to experience living and working in a fast-paced city. It is a great way to network with like-minded professionals and get a better understanding of the day-to-day life of an accountant, so you can be sure that you are pursuing the right career. It has also allowed me to apply the basic accounting principles I have been taught in University and use them when bookkeeping in QuickBooks for different clients. Overall, it has been an incredible experience that has improved my competency in the accounting field, as well as my independence; the internship has strengthened my CV and will come in handy when applying for a chartership this September.
The internship is an opportunity to rise and shine,
August 11, 2023by: Juan Pablo Jaime MatasThe internship is an opportunity to rise and shine, the best version of yourself! In my case, the internship allowed me to show a professional version of myself, motivated to learn and perform as effectively as possible. My goal of choosing this program was to gain valuable experience in seeing firsthand how a business is run in financial services, before graduating from college. The overall experience led me to strengthen my resume and my graduate school application, besides learning from my strengths and weaknesses. I was delighted with the whole process.
This internship has given me more confidence
December 17, 2022by: Andy RutledgeThis internship has given me more confidence and I think that this alone will serve me very well in the future, in whatever profession I decide to go into. If anyone else is given this opportunity I would highly encourage them to do it, as it has really opened my eyes to the power each individual person can have. This role furthered my understanding of the subject of microfinance and helped me develop skills such as communicating and working effectively with people of all different backgrounds. My most significant learning points were related to skills learnt in the areas of time management, communication and presentation skills, which will be very useful in the future. My favorite part of this internship was meeting new people and learning about new cultures.
I am glad I did it!
September 20, 2022by: Joshua HatteryLooking back on the internship, I was expecting the people I worked with to be more authoritative. However, they were always willing to listen to me and willing to change things if I wanted the program to be adapted in any way. They ensured that the internship program was focused on assisting me to learn. One overarching topic that I focused on was learning about the issues/aspects affecting international business. I think this can be very useful for my future long-term goals. With the world becoming more globalized, having this knowledge will be important no matter where I end up. I learned about international trade concepts and gained an understanding of how current events affect business. And of course, I assisted in projects whenever needed. I am really glad I got to take-away more knowledge about international trade/transactions. Overall, the outcome of the internship went well and I am glad I did it!
I have learned a lot in the week
September 10, 2022by: Cassandra CarbonDuring my remote internship, I have learned more about different financial approaches used between the US and Spain. I have learned a lot in the week and the topics that are required for me to educate myself on are topics that I’ve never had experience in having. I have taken a lot of college courses and I have yet to learn about double taxation in my classes. I love the supervisors that I am working with that are not only willing to teach me but are eager to answer questions I may have. In the short term, these activities have been helpful in learning about the international business that is happening behind the scenes of businesses that conduct business from places other than the US. In the long term, this has really opened my eyes on the differences between Spain and the US, financially.
I learnt that with enough knowledge and experience
August 23, 2021by: Mu Patrick HoAt the beginning of my internship, I was a bit nervous about how well I would perform, however I soon realized that it’s all about focusing on the experience, so I shouldn't be afraid of making mistakes. My tasks were mostly business consulting from a different perspective. I assessed how other companies or organizations succeeded and thrived, in order to come up with ideas to improve my host organization. I also worked to find ways to help women in Tanzania with starting their own businesses, by focusing on training and education. I learnt that with enough knowledge and experience, one can have tremendous success, even when facing hardship and prejudice. Going forward in my career, I want to use my skills to help others. This internship has educated me on how to make a dramatic impact with limited funding and money. There was a lot of effort from my supervisors to properly help me understand how to run a non-profit organization and build up a business for people struggling with money. Microfinance is a skill that I believe I can use to help people in the future.
Self-learning ability
May 06, 2021by: Yuhan ZhouMy remote internship role was as a finance intern, which is related to the field I want to work in, in the future. Through this internship, I gained analytical skills and experience in international trade, which can be directly applied to the career path I would like to pursue. When I was assigned tasks for the internship, I realized there was a lot of new knowledge that wasn't taught in school, which I needed to develop. I gradually began to familiarize myself with my role and taught myself a lot about foreign trade. The advice I would give to future interns is to never overestimate your knowledge base and to always keep a learning mindset. This internship experience made me more sure of my self-learning ability, and I believe that in the future if I encounter a problem I have never seen before, I will use logic to analyze it.
Greater understanding
May 04, 2021by: Merline KpadeaBefore COVID-19 started, I knew that I had to do an internship in order for me to graduate on time. I applied to more than 30 companies for internships and then began to receive rejected emails. Some companies called to inform me that the internship will be postponed until further notice because of COVID-19. Half of the companies couldn't move forward with me because of the COVID-19! I was so worried because I really wanted to graduate on time, so I started doing research and found Intern Abroad HQ. I made the decision to use them for my internship, as I refused to allow COVID-19 to affect me from graduating on time. That was the best decision I ever made - my internship experience with Intern Abroad HQ was great! My internship role was related to my major, which is finance. I had a wonderful supervisor, with excellent teaching skills, who made sure that I practiced what I was taught. The internship gave me a greater understanding of how an organization operates as a whole and it helped me to understand the importance of finance in every company and how to manage it. The cultural differences were also great to experience and I learned so much. One piece of advice I would share with a future intern is to be yourself and give yourself time to adapt.
My internship was such a valuable experience
May 04, 2021by: Hailey ShahMy internship was such a valuable experience and I learned so much! The experience gave me the unique opportunity to be involved in literature analysis, research proposal design, data analysis and presentation of findings. I am very grateful for the opportunity to take my first attempt at all of those aspects of an animal-related research project and I learned a tremendous amount about bottlenose dolphins that I would not have the opportunity to, as I am a Companion Animal Biology major. This experience will assist me in my future work in the animal science/veterinary medicine field and diversify my experience. Most importantly, it has deepened my commitment to conservation and protection of all animals based on gaining a deeper understanding of their behaviors and needs.
