I just like the fact that the Youth Development & Education internship in Japan directly correlates to my professional and personal development. I was generally very pleased with the guidance and support I received from InternHQ - every staff involved was very helpful and accommodating to answer my questions and queries. What I enjoyed the most from the Business Development internship was the experience of life in Tokyo, and the friends I've made there. This internship provided me with real-world experience, and helped me gain some insights into what I want to do professionally in the future. I really wished that it could've lasted a bit longer.

The Business Development internship in Japan gave me practical exposure to working in an international business environment. I acquired transferable skills (such as cross-cultural communication, adaptability, and reading both verbal and non-verbal workplace cues) and also learned to navigate unfamiliar systems with confidence, which will be invaluable in any global-facing role. The internship has empowered me in my field because I have proven that I can operate in a new system, bridge operations with digital outreach, and communicate across language and style differences. The Marketing & Communications internship in Japan has refined my communication and organization skills. It has also helped me to develop in becoming more precise and more accurate with the quality of my work.

The Information Technology internship in Japan served as a critical stepping stone toward my long-term goal of becoming a skilled AI back-end developer capable of working in global tech environments. It has provided me not only with hands-on technical experience but also with crucial multicultural fluency. I enjoyed working on real-world AI projects and collaborating with a skilled, multicultural team. The internship enhance my personal development as I grew in adaptability, cross-cultural communication, and resilience under pressure. In terms of my professional development, I gained hands-on experience in AI backend development, system integration, and agile workflow within a global tech environment. The Youth Development & Education internship in Tokyo was a great experience to intern in Japan. I improved my Japanese language skills and enjoyed the opportunity a lot. It was very valuable to gain first hand experience in a Japanese education setting

I choose to intern in Japan because I was really interested in learning a lot about the culture. The culture is very unique and very different to where I’m from, so I really wanted a chance to involve myself in that and experience what it’s like to live in Japan, and to also see the really beautiful sights that they have here. My internship was at a daycare centre. This program helped me in my personal and professional development, mainly with my communication skills. Because the children speak Japanese and I don’t, and at first, that was a big challenge to overcome, but I learned that facial expressions and gestures go a long way when talking to children and I was able to make good friendships even with people who did not speak the same language as, so it definitely helped with my communication skills. My advice for future interns is to come here confident and to be prepared to adjust to new situations.

I gained a lot from the Marketing & Communications internship in Japan. learned how to create attractive promotional videos and posters and got to know the popular trends in the marketing aspect of IG. This will be very helpful for the marketing work I want in the future. I received good interview guidance and pre-departure support which helped me with the online interview and to adapt to life in Tokyo.

Everyone at Intern Abroad HQ was super nice and helpful from the start! The instructions were clear (and strict in a good way), so I always knew what to do. Anytime I had questions, they answered really fast and made sure I actually understood everything — even double-checking sometimes. It made the whole process way less stressful!

I chose to do an internship in a field that is different from what I'm pursuing, and I got to visit a new country on my own. I enjoyed learning about the culture and being around like-minded people in the Sea Turtle Conservation internship in Okinawa, Japan. I also got invaluable hands-on experience in the field which helped me to understand the practical skills needed for a future career in conservation.

The Marketing & Communications in Japan internship contributed to my personal development in time management skills. It also enhanced my knowledge in my field of study in marketing and design and the Japanese language. These skills can be applied to my future career that I plan to pursue. I also enjoyed the networks I built and traveling!

What I enjoyed most during my Business Development internship in Japan was interning in an international environment and discovering a new culture. This experience helped me grow both personally and professionally by improving my adaptability, communication skills, and understanding of global business practices.

My favorite thing about Japan and my internship was navigating the city by myself, getting really good ramen and really good sushi! During the internship, I learned how to manage my time. I think time management is a very good skill to have before coming to Japan but you can also evolve that skill while you're experiencing the internship in Tokyo too. Also, learning from children in an entirely different culture allowed me to learn more about how to care for children, which is something I hope to do in the future, through my professional work. To future interns - you need to know that Japan is very fast paced but you should know that the team are here to help you and they are super nice people. Even though you might not feel like you belong here, you truly do, because you are respecting and learning about the culture that is different from your own.

My favorite experience from my internship was getting to interact with the children by using both English and Japanese, we play fun games together, play outside and do DIY crafts. I learned a lot about interacting with younger elementary school students which I previously hadn’t spent much time doing. I also learned about education in Tokyo which I was really curious about. The internship is as good as the effort you put into it. So, if you work hard and try to make connections, it will go great. It’s good to ask when you have questions (if you have any), but you’re also expected to make decisions on your own.

I would say that my favorite part of my internship (because I did marketing for a tourism company) was getting to do a lot of research into what places people should go in Japan and then for me to take the opportunity to explore in Japan too. Just doing that research and to know more about Japanese culture - within an environment where my internship colleagues are supportive - was a highlight. Just learning more about Japan, going to visit the places I researched, and seeing that Japan is a beautiful, beautiful country!

My favorite part of the internship was meeting new people from all around the world and making new friends. My favorite part in Japan was learning how to use the transportation because it’s been fun! The most important thing I learned during my time would be time management skills, how to manage and balance a variety of things (like working from home, working in an office, and everything else in between!) During my free time, I visited temples, went biking around, went shopping, visited museums, art galleries, and lots of sightseeing!

My favorite part of the internship was getting to meet all the new people and making friends from around the world and I think that my time in Japan gave me to see things that I’ve never seen in the US before. I’ve learned how to think outside of the box in both my work and even in just walking around Tokyo.
