An amazing euro summer
September 11, 2026by: Ali Eslich - United StatesMy summer in Spain with SageCorps was truly a dream come true. Getting to live in Europe for a summer (my dream) and gain valuable professional experience with a local travel company, I never imagined it would be possible. I got the opportunity to work for a travel company in their partner experience and brand design department while soaking up summer in Barcelona. Throughout the entire summer, the SageCorps team made sure we felt supported and got the most out of our time abroad. They planned several group activities that allowed our cohort to explore Barcelona and experience all the excitement the city has to offer. My favorite was our day trip to Sitges, a beautiful beach town just outside the city. I will forever be grateful for this experience!

Finding My Future in Neurosurgery
September 11, 2026by: Michael Paley - CanadaProgram: Medical Shadowing in Greece
Hi, my name is Michael and I am a Canadian student coming from the University of British Columbia. I chose to do this internship because my goal is to become a doctor. When I first came I wanted to be a cardiologist, but after spending some time here I realized I am more interested in Neurosurgery. Athens is a beautiful place and I have had a lot of travelling and experiences and I got to do and see so many things. The food here is like none other. I got to see a lot of Greek islands and it has been absolutely beautiful. I would recommend this program to anyone. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for sure. The people from Cerca were awesome; they would take care of everything including the housing and transport. They were very easy to work with and made me feel safe and comfortable the whole time. I will be forever grateful.

Business Graduate from Rotterdam
September 10, 2026by: Pieter Jansen - NetherlandsI joined the program as a recent business graduate from Rotterdam, hoping to gain international exposure before starting my career. GAC placed me with a consulting firm in Shanghai, where I worked on market research and helped prepare client presentations for companies expanding into Asia. My mentor was supportive and always made time to explain how business is done in China — from relationship-building to negotiation styles. The team arranged my visa, accommodation, and even helped me settle into the city during my first week. I came home with practical experience, a wider perspective, and a job offer within two months.

My 10 weeks in Bangkok were truly unforgettable. I loved the work environment, gained valuable experience and exposure, and met so many amazing people. I’m leaving with great memories and a new perspective on other cultures.

I would fully recommend studying abroad!

Exploring Dentistry Around the World
September 10, 2026by: Rylee-Grace Burgis - United StatesProgram: Dental Shadowing in Greece
Hi, my name is Rylee, I am from North Carolina and I came here as a rising junior. I chose to study in Athens, Greece, because it’s beautiful and I love immersing myself in new cultures. Greece has a wonderful culture and I love learning about new dental fields and the different paths around the world. During my internship here—a three-week one—I got to watch a lot of extractions, crowns, and placing crowns—I just loved it. The doctors have been very informative and I’ve learned a lot of new anatomy terms, as well as learning about the instruments. I’ve had some hands-on experience on stone teeth. I got to prep them for a root canal; I really loved watching root canals as well. It has been a really cool experience. Cerca Abroad has been really informative. Throughout the whole process we’ve had 24/7 contact with them. When we really needed them, we could text and it’s been really great. Thank you.

Wildlife Conservation Work
September 10, 2026by: Devin-Danielle Webb - United StatesProgram: Wildlife Research in Greece
Hello, my name is Devin-Danielle and I am a rising junior at the illustrious North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, in North Carolina, in the United States. I chose this internship because I am particularly passionate about wildlife conservation and biology and this opportunity provided me with the perfect experience for hands-on learning. So, one thing that I’ve found interesting was using these cameras to check the population density of wolves, bears, and other native species in the area. Apart from this, we track the paths of these animals and we also collect DNA of bears by going to their scratching posts and collecting hairs. Overall, I am pretty pleased with the coordination of my experience and I really enjoyed my time here. Thanks.

Discovering My Favorite Medical Specialty
September 10, 2026by: Sophia Lee - United StatesProgram: Medical Shadowing in Greece
Hi. My name is Sophia and I am from Arizona. I chose a medical internship to explore different possibilities in the medical field and to kind of shadow and gain experience in a hospital. Something very exciting here was looking at different specialties. My favourite was Orthopedics, which was the highlight of this trip. The coordination was really good. It was very easy getting around. It was all very simple. Athens was gorgeous, it’s a very interesting place, so I would come back.

My Path Toward Becoming a Physician
September 09, 2026by: Taylor Cloud - United StatesProgram: Medical Shadowing in Greece
Hi, my name is Taylor, I am from Connecticut, I go to Colgate University in upstate New York. I chose to do this program to become a physician in the future. My experience with Athens so far has been wonderful. The people are incredibly friendly and even help you explore the city. My experience with Cerca has also been wonderful. They were even super helpful throughout the city, the hospital, and with the doctors here.

An unforgettable summer in Barcelona
September 09, 2026by: Lilliana Miranda - United StatesMy Sage Corps experience in Barcelona was one of the most meaningful experiences of my college career. The program gave me the opportunity to live and work abroad while gaining hands-on experience at a startup, where I worked on sales, business development, outreach, research, content creation, and marketing projects. I appreciated that I was given real responsibilities and the opportunity to explore different areas of the company, which helped me better understand my professional strengths and interests. Sage Corps also did a great job creating opportunities for us to experience Barcelona beyond our internships. Our City Managers, Pamela and Mikel, were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout the program. They gave us great recommendations, made the scheduled events fun, and most importantly made me feel safe while living abroad. They organized a variety of activities and excursions for our cohort throughout the program, including visits to Mirador Torre Glòries, Park Güell, and a day trip to Sitges, just to name a few. These experiences gave us the chance to explore more of Barcelona, learn about the culture, and make memories together outside of work. Living abroad challenged me to become more independent, adaptable, and confident. I returned home with new professional skills, meaningful friendships, unforgettable memories, and a clearer sense of what I want from my future career. I would absolutely recommend Sage Corps to students who want international work experience while also immersing themselves in a new culture.

The BEST decision ever!
September 09, 2026by: Giselle Sanchez - United StatesThis program changed my life for the better! I was so sad to leave but will be eternally grateful to this program for the experiences and connections I made. Whether you are looking to build your resume, meet new people, or just explore a new country, Intern Colombia is the program to go with. The internship placement process is incredibly easy, every person I interacted with as part of the program was incredibly kind, and there are so many activities planned out for the cohorts. I got to see and experience so much of Colombia and it is all thanks to this program. I made friendships that will last a lifetime and every single moment was filled with joy. Take the leap and join!

The Best Intern Abroad Experience
September 09, 2026by: Melia Piloske - United StatesMy experience with Sage Corps was one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had in college. I interned in Madrid, Spain, as a Business Development and Sales Intern, where I worked on customer outreach, sales, market research, social media, and client relationships. One of the biggest things I gained was learning how to adapt to a new culture. At first, I struggled with the different communication styles in Spain, but over time I became more comfortable and learned how important it is to be open-minded and adaptable. I also loved the experiences outside of my internship, especially the Toledo trip, group dinners, and Bernabeu Tour. Getting to explore Spain while meeting other students made the experience even more memorable. I would highly recommend Sage Corps because it gives you the chance to gain real professional experience while immersing yourself in another culture. It pushed me outside of my comfort zone and helped me grow both personally and professionally.

For the second time had the time of my life!!!
September 08, 2026by: Susan Hoekstra - NetherlandsProgram: Frontline Medical Volunteering | Emergency & Trauma
I have been with meditrip to Tanzania now twice and both of the times have been amazing! I had a good time talking to Pearl for the preparations and expectations. Pearl also was a great help with discussing a topic I could use to write my thesis. When I arrived the second time it really felt like coming home. I love the home feeling in the hostel. I also met the most amazing people in the hostel who are now some of my closes friends. In the hospital I had great guidance in Kaloleni Hospital. Overall I had the most amazing experience and I can't wait to go back!!
The Best Decision!
September 07, 2026by: Nora * - CanadaProgram: Au Pair - Demi Pair in Seoul, Korea
My experience with Korea GapYear was truly amazing. Honestly, if it wasn’t for my school schedule, I would have loved to stay much longer in Korea. I have always dreamed of building a family in the future, and I have always loved spending time with children. I also had a strong desire to live abroad and experience life in a different country, so this was something very special for me. From the beginning, Korea GapYear helped me so much and match me with a host family that was a perfect for me. I was really lucky to meet such a wonderful family. They cared about me, supported me, and made me feel comfortable and welcomed. My parents were initially worried about me traveling alone to another country, but after seeing how happy and safe I was with my host family, they felt much more relieved. I truly found another family far away from home. Living in Seoul was such a fun and unforgettable experience. I enjoyed exploring the city, experiencing Korean culture, and studying Korean in my free time. I loved having a balance between time with my host family and children, learning about daily life in Korea, and having time to enjoy the city at my own pace. This experience gave me so many beautiful memories and helped me grow as a person. I never felt alone because i had my family and Korea GapYear supporting throughout the process and helped me feel safe in a completely new environment. I would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone who loves children, wants to experience living abroad, and hopes to explore a new country in a safe and meaningful way. Korea GapYear made my first experience in Korea comfortable, exciting, and unforgettable. This was my family, and I already know that I will definitely come back to Korea again someday. Thank you Korea GapYear for giving me such a wonderful chapter of my life! Read More What was your funniest moment? The most unfamiliar Korean food I tried was probably Dak-ball 닭발 (chicken feet)! 😄 I know the name “chicken feet” might not sound very appealing, but it is honestly SO delicious! I highly recommend trying it, especially the boneless type. There are also different versions like rosé ! Another interesting thing is that are known to be rich in collagen, so many people say they are good for your skin. Maybe this is one of the hidden beauty secrets of Koreans? 😉

An Amazing Experience I Will Not Forget
September 06, 2026by: Justeen Jackson - United StatesThis was my first experience volunteering and interning abroad. I am so grateful for this program giving me the opportunity to explore a new place while I learned even more about my field. They helped take care of everything from start to finish and even checked that I arrived home safely. Genuinely, this was an amazing experience and I can’t wait to visit Ghana again.
The best summer in Madrid
September 06, 2026by: Monica Corte Inclan - MexicoProgram: International Internships in Madrid
It was an incredible experience that helped me meet people from different countries and backgrounds, allowing me to learn from their cultures, perspectives, and personal stories. Living and sharing experiences with people who had grown up in completely different environments challenged me to step outside my comfort zone and become more open-minded. It also taught me the importance of communication, empathy, and understanding, especially when interacting with people whose customs and ways of thinking were different from mine. Beyond the cultural experience, this opportunity helped me grow personally. Being in a new environment encouraged me to become more independent, adaptable, and confident in myself. I learned how to handle unexpected situations, make decisions on my own, and embrace challenges instead of being afraid of them. I also discovered new aspects of my personality and realized that I am capable of adapting and thriving in unfamiliar situations. Overall, this experience was much more than simply meeting new people or visiting a different place. It was an opportunity to learn, challenge myself, and create meaningful connections. I will always value the memories, friendships, and lessons I gained, as they have contributed significantly to my personal growth and continue to influence the way I approach new experiences.
What a time to be alive!
September 05, 2026by: Meleah Eickhoff - United StatesThis internship experience was truly incredible! Even though it got off to a rocky start, the Beyond Academy team and I managed to navigate it quickly and adjust. The internship itself allowed me to put practical skills I learned in college to use and my team pushed me to learn more! Aside from the internship, the community was incredible! I made so many friends and went to almost all of the community events to experience the culture and get to know the other interns. Overall, I am so glad that I chose to do Beyond Academy and it is truly an experience I will never forget!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience, Meleah! While we’re sorry that your internship got off to a rocky start, we’re glad our team could support you in navigating those initial challenges and making the necessary adjustments. It’s wonderful to hear that you were able to put your college skills into practice, continue learning from your host company, and make the most of the Seoul community and cultural events. We also loved the vlog you created about your first week! We loved having you on the program and are so happy it became an experience you’ll never forget!
A First Look Into Medical Life Abroad
September 05, 2026by: Tayyibah Latif - United KingdomProgram: Medical Shadowing in Greece
Hello, my name is Tayyibah and I am from the University of Bradford, I am twenty years old. I chose the medical program for the experience because I wanted to take a look at something different overall and the medical placement was a good experience for me. The people and the doctors were nice and helpful. Overall, I believe that I’ve had a great experience. The staff are helpful, nice and kind. So, during my medical placement I’ve seen a lot of different surgeries. Medically, it was a different experience for me overall. Athens itself is a beautiful city. The people are nice and helpful and there are a lot of tourist attractions as well.

Taking a chance on Seoul was the best decision of my life!
September 04, 2026by: rose Meers - EnglandApplying for this program was completely spontaneous. I randomly submitted my application without thinking too much of it, and I was genuinely surprised when I got accepted. Choosing between Seoul and Japan was a tricky decision, but Korea snuck up on me—and taking the risk to travel halfway across the world turned out to be worth every single cent. I feel like doing an internship abroad is something every freshman and student should try to do. Gaining real-world experience is incredibly powerful. I loved learning hands-on within my host company, picking up practical tools, and mastering skills that will directly shape my future career. While internships can be challenging and step out of your comfort zone, pushing through taught me to be bold, brave, and just give things a go. Beyond the work, surrounding myself with so many different people from around the world was deeply enriching. I fell in love with Korean culture even more than I expected—from quiet, peaceful moments in traditional tea rooms to wearing hanboks, walking around taking photos, and trying not to trip or slip while exploring the city! I feel incredibly privileged and deeply thankful to the program for accepting me to study, work, and learn what’s across the world. It’s a transformative experience that I will cherish forever!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience, Rose! We’re thrilled that taking that leap of faith led to such a meaningful experience in Seoul and gave you the opportunity to immerse yourself in Korean culture, connect with people from around the world, and build memories you’ll always cherish. We also really appreciate your honesty about the internship being challenging at times. While international work experiences can come with difficult moments, we’re glad our team was there to support you through those challenges and that you came away feeling more confident, courageous, and equipped with practical skills for your future. It was wonderful having you on the program, and we wish you all the best with everything that comes next!
Great experience!
September 04, 2026by: Serena Tam Letizia - ItalyI spent eight weeks in Seoul, South Korea on an internship arranged for me by Beyond Academy. The Beyond staff on site welcomed me and other fellow “Beyonders” starting their internships within the same week as me with open arms. They were very supportive, friendly, and always available to help us. Thanks to the weekly events scheduled regularly every Thursday and Sunday, I was able to meet and get to know the other Beyonders better, and make memories for a lifetime. I interned for a company and in a field I was quite unfamiliar with, which represented the biggest hurdle I had to overcome during my time in Seoul. Everyone at my host company was incredibly nice, kind, and helpful, though—as a previous Beyonder has already said in their review—I would recommend starting the Beyond Academy placement process months in advance so as to avoid last minute mishaps (to make sure you’re assigned a role in the field that best fits you), and looking into multiple options before saying yes to anything. Overall, it was a great experience that I would definitely highly recommend. I would once again like to thank everyone at Beyond Academy who made it possible!
