Tokyo Internships with Beyond Academy

From the moment I applied to after my internship ended, Beyond Academy was nothing short of professional and supportive. I had the best time at my internship and had many opportunities to explore Tokyo and other parts of Japan during my time there. I loved the social events and made many new friends that I hope to stay in contact with for years to come. My internship was also the perfect fit for me, and I did meaningful work and gained a lot from it. I definitely feel more confident going into my future career. I will cherish my time in Tokyo with Beyond for a lifetime.

This was an absolutely amazing experience! Outside from working hard at my internship and gaining new skills in what I’m passionate in, I was also able to make great relationships with like minded people during my stay. I never had to worry about anything except whether I had enough time to do everything I had planned for a day! But I’ve made connections with others that I will come to cherish forever, and will keep me coming back someday.

This program was amazing! The interview process was smooth, and the support beyond academy offers was great! The coordinators in Tokyo were perfect and always kept things fun and stress free. I would definitely recommend this experience to students and those wanting an amazing experience in another country!

I loved my time with Beyond! I got to meet so many amazing people, and absolutely loved all of the community events they hosted. I worked as a graphic designer/ marketer for a fashion technology company which is not what I’d usually choose but I ended loving it. I had a few issues with housing and the company that hosts it but the community coordinators were very helpful when it came to that. If you have the funds I would highly recommend this program!

I worked as a graphic design intern, for two months. Really enjoyed my time, the Tokyo coordinators really supported me and made me feel welcomed. My internship company were wonderful and I got to work on designing some characters for them. Would definitely recommend doing an internship with beyond academy.

I had such a good experience in Tokyo, beyond academy answered all my questions with speed and ease. Some people didn't have a great experience with their placement but I did. I loved it ! The events they coordinated were really helpful as we could explore more of the city.

Living and working in Tokyo was something I’ve been wanting to do for a while and it definitely exceeded my expectations. Thanks to Beyond Academy my transition was very smooth. They arranged comfortable accommodations, offered cultural guidance, and hosted events that allowed me to meet my now very close friends and explore the city together. The friends I’ve met here have become very important people in my life and I never felt lost or alone, as there was always someone available to help. My host company trusted me with real responsibilities, and encouraged me to contribute my ideas, while also not putting too much pressure on me. Through this internship, I gained practical experience and improved my professional skills. It’s an experience that has broadened my perspective and made me more confident as a young professional. Beyond Academy also organized fun activities and cultural excursions for every week that made the overall program feel well-rounded and thoughtfully designed. Other than the set activities, the events always vary, making every week different and exciting. Some of my favorite memories were the Tea Ceremony in Kimonos, TeamLabs and an all you can eat cafe! I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity and would highly recommend Beyond Academy to anyone looking to gain international work experience, grow personally and professionally, and explore one of the most fascinating cities in the world.

I completed a 2 month internship at a tech company in Tokyo through Beyond Academy. At work, I created digital assets that will be used in an app currently and in the future! This has definitely provided me with a great boost to my resume which will help me stand out for future jobs. The weekly events all around Tokyo and outside of Tokyo were so fun and left me with so many new friends. The coordinators were also so kind and supportive of all of us as well. I would genuinely recommend Beyond Academy for anyone looking to experience daily life and work in another country!

I completed an internship with Beyond Academy this month in Tokyo. I was there for 6 weeks. While my host company maybe wasn’t the best fit for me, I am grateful for the overall experience, and the community team in Tokyo did everything they could to make the experience good for everyone. The only thing I will say is that you will not be guaranteed accommodation with other Beyond Academy interns - so it might be harder to make friends if so. Overall good experience.

Beyond Academy was the best decision I made post-graduation. Japan has always been a place I wanted to visit (as my grandad used to work there) and now having worked, lived and travelled around Japan, it has become a pinnacle moment of my youth and is helping me navigate my future goals. The support from friends and community coordinators made it that much more enjoyable and easy, everyone was there to welcome and support one another. Take that nervous next step, because I promise you it will be worth it, fortune always favours the brave.

I did 3 months in Tokyo basically building robots, going to events, eating good food and chilling with good people. Was a great experience loved meeting loads of different people along the way it was very fun plus my internship was fantastic, if you doing tech, it’s a very good place to get full job experience. Overall 100% recommend this to anyone seeking something adventure, culture and fun !!

I did a two-month internship in IT in Tokyo with Beyond Academy this summer. The team gave me really helpful coaching and advice before the interviews, which made securing a placement a lot smoother. What I enjoyed the most was the social side of the program — the coordinators were super friendly and always there to help. The social events were fun and a great way to meet new people and enjoy the experience outside of work.

I had a great experience with them. I learned so much from both the internship and the culture. The coordinators were very welcoming and helped me settle into the city. I met many kind people and made lasting friendships. I am very grateful for this opportunity and will always remember it.

Tokyo is an amazing location for an internship - many opportunities, dynamic social live and full of new experiences - it is a challenge not to enjoy your time here. My workplace was full with enthusiastic young people, which inspired me. Through Beyond Academy I've met many new people, who I'd proudly call lifetime friends now. Overall, the experience gives you the opportunity to explore Japan in ways one couldn't do as a tourist and it's totally worth it.

You will never going to have this kind of experience in the future ever! Securing an international internship is extremely challenging given the internship duration, language, and policies that are case by case. Hence I would recommend this program to help you save all those hassles. This is the only time you have in your life you can make this big investment without necessarily sacrificing others

I really enjoyed my time during my internship in Tokyo through Beyond Academy. Despite the company I interned at being less than stellar, to say the least, I had a wonderful time. I highly recommend the community events and activities. I will say, I wouldn't recommend interning at a startup if you can help it.

I’d always wanted to visit Japan, and when I started looking for a summer internship, Beyond Academy stood out as the perfect fit and I’m really glad I went with them. It was my first internship and my first time traveling alone, so going halfway across the world felt intimidating at first. But having a built-in community through Beyond Academy made a huge difference. The Tokyo community team was incredibly kind and welcoming, and it was great to have people to explore Japan with. Some of my favorite events were the day trip to Enoshima Island and the visit to TeamLab Planets. I’m more of a “tag-along” than a planner, so I really appreciated the weekly events that helped me experience Tokyo without needing to research and organize everything myself. At the same time, there was enough flexibility to explore independently. I stayed in the accommodation provided by Beyond: a sharehouse which was clean and comfortable for an 8-week stay. The rooms were small but sufficient for the 2 months I was there. I also had a great experience with my host company. My coworkers were friendly and supportive, and the tasks I was assigned were manageable. I had signed up for a Software Development internship but ended up working more with AI and query tuning than hands-on coding. Still, as my first internship, it was a good learning experience and gave me insight into a professional work environment. One thing I was nervous about before arriving was the transportation system—I had never even taken a subway before. But I quickly got the hang of it, and Tokyo’s public transit is incredibly efficient. I did have to figure out routes to events on my own, but it became easier with time. One thing to keep in mind is the summer weather. I was there from June to July, and the heat and humidity were intense, especially if you're not used to subtropical weather. I absolutely loved my time here and definitely plan to return someday, but next time I think I’ll visit during a cooler season.
