Time in Firenze
March 18, 2026by: Bethany Schweers - United StatesI am so very grateful for my experience through AIFS. Although my internship placements were off to a rocky start, my studies abroad truly made up for it. From weekly activities, cooking classes, and local restaurants, AIFS has curated such a unique broad brush stroke into dipping your toe into long-term living in the heart of Florence. I could not be happier with my roomates and all of my friends made through the program and credit this opportunity for all of the locals and other fellow study abroad students through various programs to AIFS.

My Internship Abroad in Florence with AIFS – A Life-Changing Experience
October 03, 2025by: Carlos Castro - United StatesI did an internship in Florence, Italy in the summer of 2025 through AIFS Abroad, and it was truly one of the best experiences I’ve had. I chose AIFS because of their strong reputation and the support they provide, and they really delivered. From the application process to my time in Italy, the staff was always there to answer questions, give guidance, and make sure I felt prepared and supported throughout the program. The housing was safe and well located, which made it easy to enjoy daily life in Florence. I also appreciated the excursions and cultural activities that were included, since they gave me the chance to explore more of Italy and learn about its history and culture in a hands-on way. These experiences helped me connect with other students in the program, and I built friendships that made my time abroad even more meaningful. This internship not only allowed me to live and work in another culture but also helped me grow in confidence, adaptability, and intercultural communication skills. It has had a lasting impact on me personally and professionally, and I feel more prepared for future opportunities because of it. I would highly recommend AIFS Abroad to anyone who wants a supportive, well-rounded, and unforgettable study abroad or internship experience.
Loved this program
August 30, 2024by: Lauren Coyne - United StatesCassidy was awesome, smart trip was awesome and it was a great experience overall def recommend! I made the best friends and am so glad I did this experience. The summer program was super fun and the perfect amount of time!
The best summer ever!
August 12, 2024by: Isabella Gamba - United StatesMy experience interning abroad in Florence was absolutely amazing! AIFS paired me with the perfect internship for my aspiring career. I had the opportunity to immerse myself in a new culture and learn in a foreign work environment. It was the best internship I could have asked for immediately following my undergraduate graduation and made me feel more prepared when returning home to start my career. It was truly an unforgettable summer!
Unforgettable Experience
August 08, 2024by: Vincent Zaccherio - United StatesEverything from the beginning steps of applying to landing back home 2 months later for me was as smooth and straightforward as one could ask for. All the coordinators work with you to ensure your safety. This program changed my life and opened the door for endless possibilities for the future in my profession. I was able to live another life and travel so easily, if any issues arose there was always someone I could talk to 24/7 no matter where I was. Made so many friends not only within the program but also from where I was living. I now because of this am lucky enough to say I’m returning to Florence, Italy due to a job offer I received while interning thanks to the wonderful placement from AIFS.
A Summer I'll Never Forget
July 16, 2024by: Matthew Galligan - United StatesI had a truly amazing experience from start to finish while being involved in this program and working at my internship. The living accommodation I was given was very nice and I was placed with great roommates who made the experience even better. The AIFS staff were very helpful and there for support if needed and were easy to communicate with. My internship placement exceeded my expectations and the people I worked with were amazing and I was able to build relationships and friendships with them even outside of work. Overall I am truly grateful and happy that I chose to take part in this summer abroad program and for the experiences and memories this has given me that I will never forget.
Best summer
July 15, 2024by: Mary Valentine - United StatesI spent the summer in Florence, Italy with AIFS working as a communications intern for a local company. The internship was a really valuable experience as I got to experience what it's like to work full-time in addition to having the opportunity to do a multitude of tasks for the company I interned with. The staff at AIFS were constantly available if we needed help or support and I am really thankful to have had this opportunity.
I learned so much by coming to Florence for the summer!!
July 15, 2024by: Cannon Hughes - United StatesI got to meet so many amazing people from around the world, and connect with so many employers and people on a business level as well!! Best semester abroad!
April 05, 2024by: Laurel Lane - United StatesI had the best time interning abroad in Florence. I had a good internship and I made great friends. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Cassidy Fickes was our AIFS contact in Florence, and she was always so helpful and made the process so smooth.
Best program ever!
April 05, 2024by: Chanel Sud - United StatesEmbarking on the AIFS Florence Study Abroad Program was one of the most transformative experiences of my academic journey. From the breathtaking landscapes to the rich cultural heritage, Florence served as an unparalleled backdrop for an unforgettable adventure. One of the most commendable aspects of the program was its seamless integration of academics and cultural immersion. The curriculum, designed offered a diverse range of courses taught by knowledgeable professors who were passionate about their subjects. My personal favorite course was Marketing of Italian luxury fashion. Whether delving into Italian fashion or mastering the nuances of the Italian language, each class was an opportunity for intellectual growth and exploration. Beyond the classroom, AIFS provided a plethora of experiential learning opportunities that allowed students to engage directly with Italian culture. From guided tours of renowned museums to cooking classes led by local chefs, every activity was thoughtfully curated to deepen our understanding of Italian traditions and customs. Living in Florence for a semester provided a unique opportunity for personal growth and self-discovery. Immersing myself in the vibrant local community allowed me to develop many intercultural skills and forge lifelong friendships with fellow students from around the world. Overall, AIFS provides students with an amazing program, idea housing situation, and engaging courses and excursions that will contribute to lifelong memories.
Museum Conservation at NYU Florence
March 28, 2024by: Aleah P - United StatesI couldn’t have asked for a better experience in Florence. AIFS did an amazing job at placing me with an internship that not only fit my interests, but gave me incredible connections in my field of work. The 3 girls I was roomed with quickly became my closest friends, and we got to travel and experience living abroad together. In all transparency, working abroad is a lot different than studying. It is very demanding, however so insightful and worthwhile. I highly recommend AIFS if you are looking for an opportunity to work abroad. I even got a job offer after my internship!
Intern Abroad in Florence
March 27, 2024by: Brittany Bodnar - United StatesHi! I was apart of the Spring 2024 intern abroad program in Florence. I had the best time ever! I will be honest though, the experience is not easy. As an intern abroad you have to balance time very well with social life and work life. I worked 40 hours weeks most weeks and traveled on the weekends. It is exhausting. Luckily I had a great group of girls I was living with and we really bonded over our experience in the program and helped each other vent and get through the hard parts. The placement I had was the perfect type of internship, which is great because I needed the experience. Although, working in a different countries does have some hardships. I am a pretty personable person and the language barrier made it very hard for me to make connections with the people in the office with me, a lot of the time they would speak in Italian and I knew very little. It felt a little lonely and I have never been in a work environment where I wasn’t friends with those who I was working with. It definitely became a really tiresome feeling and I dreaded going to the internship towards the end. I also did not need credit and was doing this for experience so working as much as I did burnt me out kind of fast. I had hoped there was a part time position or option but that was not possible. But in all I had a really great time, the experience was once in a lifetime and I would definitely recommend!
My Time As An Intern In Florence, Intern
January 25, 2024by: florenceintern1234In Fall of 2023, I had the opportunity to live in Florence and work as an intern for a local company. As part of the program, AIFS Abroad provided me housing and a cohort with whom to live and spend time around the city. They matched us well with roommates and housemates of program participants with similar living habits and preferences. I enjoyed the time I spent with this group, and we still keep in touch. The beginning of the program included three weeks of language classes at a local language school for foreign students. This immersion class is one of my favorite experiences, as I got to learn Italian language from an authentic Italian teacher, and I got to be in class with students from all over the world. I made new friends and learned language skills that I still practice to this day. Outside of language classes and internships, AIFS provided group activities and excursions like dinners, cooking classes, and day trips to nearby cities. I greatly enjoyed these trips, and if anything, wish we could have had more activities like this. One thing that I do wish there was more of is connection to local groups and communities within the city. I found myself wanting to get involved in certain hobbies or groups that I did not know how to find. I think that if I had been connected to a college campus this may have been easier. AIFS does provide a great deal of resources to acclimate you to life in a foreign city, such as mental health resources, but I think it would be beneficial to provide participants with connections to local clubs, groups, and other activities.
Best decision of my life!
December 30, 2023by: Maryana Kopyt - United StatesThis program gave me a life changing opportunity to work and live in the heart of Florence, Italy. Words cannot describe how amazing my time was because of the coordination of the program and the advisors who were always eager to help from the beginning to end. I was placed in an internship that helped me grow professionally and personally where I had real responsibilities, unlike some of the girls that barely had to come to work and had poor communication with their bosses. My housing situation only had some issues with the oven not working a few times, besides that the apartment was amazing. We had a balcony with a great view unlike the others, it was very spacious and in a nice quiet neighborhood close to the center. I truly made lifelong friendships with the people in the program, especially the girls I lived with and traveled. The program gave a lot of freedom to the students which forced us to be independent and made it possible for me to travel somewhere every weekend. This experience opened my eyes to the world and if you have the chance, 100% I suggest this program!
So worth it!
August 14, 2023by: Ashley Warren - United StatesGoing abroad with AIFS was one of the best choices I’ve ever made! The company I was placed with was so incredible, the friends I made are life long, and I would happily do it all over again! AIFS took care of everything from the housing to job placements which allowed me to actually enjoy my internship and living in Florence. They also hosted several event through out the summer which only enhanced the experience.
Wish I never left
August 09, 2023by: Peyton Schuchart - United StatesDuring my unforgettable time in Florence, my experience at C-YourCulture was nothing short of incredible. Under the guidance of the best boss I could have asked for, I embarked on a journey of unparalleled learning and personal growth. The team's warm welcome made me feel right at home, and the camaraderie fostered a supportive environment where I thrived. The AIFS team added another layer of excellence to my adventure. Their rapid responses and warm reception created a seamless transition to life in a new city. The meticulously planned events they orchestrated were nothing short of spectacular. The wine tours stand out in my memory, with their picturesque settings, delectable cuisine, and exquisite wines. I was even surprised with a complimentary bottle of fine white sparkling wine from one of the wineries – a gesture that epitomized the generosity of the Florentine spirit. A boat ride along the serene river of Florence, accompanied by champagne, showcased the city's enchanting beauty at its finest. The people I met during this journey were not just acquaintances but became lifelong friends. We embarked on trips together, prepared delicious dinners, indulged in wine nights, and savored the vibrant nightlife at bars and clubs. If you're contemplating an opportunity to study abroad, I wholeheartedly urge you to seize it. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that not only broadened my horizons academically but also enriched my life with a wealth of cultural experiences and cherished memories. Florence became more than a city – it became a part of me, and the connections I forged will forever hold a special place in my heart.
Once in a lifetime experience!
July 26, 2023by: Alexandria Majors - United StatesI had the most amazing time as an intern in Florence, Italy! AIFS was extremely supportive in making sure that I had a great experience and was there to help every step of the way! The on the ground staff were so welcoming and helpful, and they made everyone feel so comfortable being in a new city.
Once in a lifetime experience!
July 26, 2023by: Rimyal Awfe - United StatesI had a great experience interning in Florence! I had an amazing internship placement with a company in my preferred field and learned a lot. On the weekends, we did a couple excursions where we got to know more about Tuscany/Florence and got to meet the other interns. I learned how to be more responsible and had a good work-life balance so I was able to improve professionally while also have fun socially. All in all, I recommend Global Experiences for whoever wants to get out of their comfort zone and explore a new culture!
Unforgettable experience
July 22, 2023by: Rachel Jordan - United StatesLiterally a dream! As someone who has always wanted to travel to Italy, getting the opportunity to live and work here was surreal. This program really took my outside my comfort zone both personally and professionally. I made so many great friends in my program as well as in my internship. It was incredible getting to learn so much about Italian culture firsthand.
A great learning experience
July 22, 2023by: Guy Mogge - United StatesWhile interning abroad I had a great learning experience in the workforce and had a an awesome experience socially. Working definitely made me more mature in my everyday life especially when I was working remote. I had to remember to stay on task and stay focused to get my work done first before anything. I learned a lot about time management and communication while interning which are two key skills to have in your future careers. Communicating with your team and bosses is a major part in being successful in the workplace, you can never go wrong asking too many questions. On the other hand, I had an amazing experience outside of interning when I comes to traveling and exploring the culture of Florence, Italy. There are so many amazing places to visit and learn about while abroad. It’s amazing to see the cultural differences and learn about the everyday life around you wherever you are abroad, opening you up to wanting to learn. Lastly, I’ve met so many great people in this program and also from other intern abroad and study abroad programs. They set you up with roommates, who I now have become great lifelong friends with. I will never forget this summer and how great it has been, and I recommend it to anyone especially anyone who is second guessing themselves about going abroad. Just do it! It’s a once in a lifetime experience.
A life changing experience
July 21, 2023by: Paige Collins - United StatesThe people I’ve met and the things i’ve done and experienced have really changed my life and my perspective. I really liked getting to work here and also doing fun things with my friends, it was a really good balance. The gals in charge were so nice and good at what they do! You get so many resources to help you with whatever challenge you may face. I loved every second!
New adventures
July 21, 2023by: Miriam Ruvalcaba - United StatesComing into this program I was really nervous because I’ve never had roommates or lived abroad before. After meeting all the students living in the same building and meeting my coworkers everything went well and didn’t feel homesick. I’ve met many great people in this program and my internship experience was the best, I worked Monday- Friday 10-7 as a fashion design assistant and really got to practice my skills as a designer and that was my #1 goal in this program. I learned a lot about myself and learning kinda how to do things all over in a new country where I don’t know the language.

Amazing experience!
July 20, 2023by: Natalie Medrano - United StatesThis is an amazing program! They truly help you through each step of the process and ensure you have the best time in your destination of choice. They work with you to guarantee that you are prepared for your internship and all the aspects of living abroad as well.
The most memorable 2 months of my life!
July 20, 2023by: Haley Rucker - United StatesThis experience opened me up to so many new people, ideas, and experiences. I learned so much about not only the world but myself as well. I learned so many valuable skills to use in my future careers, and grew as a person more than I ever thought I could in just 2 months.

The perfect experience for professional enrichment and travel
July 20, 2023by: Remy Smith - United StatesMy experience as an intern with Romeing Magazine through Global Experiences was wonderful for many reasons. The staff worked diligently to partner students with internships that fit their personal and professional interests and remained in close contact throughout the entire process — from pre-departure interviews right up to our very last week with our respective companies. I felt supported throughout the entirety of the two months I interned in Florence, Italy and I learned so much not only about how navigate working in a new country, but about myself and the career I’d like to pursue going forward.
Amazing experience!
July 19, 2023by: Greta Fleer - United StatesI had the best time abroad in Florence, Italy through my internship program. I went into it not knowing anyone and met some of my closest friends now. My internship placement was great, and I ended up learning a lot from it. I also had time to travel on the weekends to many different places. Overall, it was truly one of the best experiences of my life!
Great summer in Florence
July 19, 2023by: Ruth Moniz - United StatesI really enjoyed my time in Florence this summer! While my internship didn’t quite match up with what I am studying in University/College, I still learned a lot and had a great time living in this beautiful city.
A fruitful and Enriching Experience
July 19, 2023by: Sebastian Gonzalez - United StatesGoing abroad to Italy to me meant a lot in terms of what I thought I was going to experience. To my surprise and amazement it completely blew my expectations out of the water in the best way possible. I expected my lessons and experiences to solely come from my job but the true experiences came from the people, culture, and trying to assimilate into the environment. Leaving my comfort zone and moving to Florence is possibly the best thing I could’ve done for myself at this point in time. From the program advisors to my fellow peers the experience has been one that will shape me for the rest of my life and provide me with priceless knowledge and perspective.
It was a life changing experience!
July 19, 2023by: Joseph Cipriano - CanadaLiving in the heart of Florence while working just outside the city offered me a genuine taste of authentic Italian life. However, I still had lots of time to explore Italy over the weekends and experience the exciting Florence nightlife with my roommates. Overall, this is a summer I will never forget and if you have the opportunity to partake in this experience you shouldn't hesitate.
Amazing
July 19, 2023by: Samantha Cianciolo - United StatesThis is by far the best thing I have ever done and I will never forget this experience. I don’t want to go home! Honestly I can’t even describe how amazing this was, I can’t put it into words. I would 100% do it again!
An unforgettable experience!
May 20, 2023by: Alexa H - United StatesMy trip to Florence with Global Experiences is something I will never forget. I met so many new people from all over the country and learned so many new things about myself. I grew personally as well as professionally through my internships and would 100% recommend this program!
The best time!
April 18, 2023by: Lauren Barry - United StatesInterning in Florence was the best three months of my life! I met the best people and got to continue exploring my future career path. Our advisors were always there for us and so helpful whenever we needed anything!

An experience that I will not forget
April 11, 2023by: Abigail Wilson - United StatesInterning abroad is one of the best decisions I have ever made! Global Experience's Florence program was the perfect opportunity for me to leave home and fully immerse myself in a new culture, as well as make me go outside of my comfort zone. I not only grew personally, but I also grew professionally. As my degree is in hospitality, I was very fortunate to be placed working on a rooftop bar and restaurant learning from such passionate employees who are very good at what they do. I learned so much from my boss and she learned from me as well; these types of internships are extremely eye opening as you are going in with an outsider perspective. I was able to present different ideas I had, assist in writing business emails and event proposals myself, as well as create menus, seating charts and brochures for different events being hosted. They gave me these tasks and believed in me even in times that I did not feel very confident. However, because of this, I had little to no edits by the time I left. My boss's goals of having me do things on my own was only accomplished because she pushed me to do everything, even when I didn't think I could. I know that I will benefit from this internship through out my whole career. On the weekends, GE set up excursions for all of us interns to get together again and do something fun. We had a cooking and fresca painting class and were taken on a wine tours bike ride, and several day trips! These were great for everyone to bond and get to know each other even more, which created a sense of community between us all. Overall I would recommend this program to anyone who wants to test themselves. You will be faced with challenges and difficulties, but it is worth it. While you are supported along the way, this program will teach you to be independent and strong for yourself. Even though this whole thing may seem scary at first, it truly is the best thing you can do! The people I have met and the places I have seen made sure of that. I have made lifelong friends and have gained a sense of confidence when it comes to travel that I never had before. I cannot stress this enough...if you are even considering doing this program, do it!! You will not regret it.
Great experience!
April 11, 2023by: Lexy Silverstein - United StatesGlobal Experiences gave me the opportunity to get experience in the work force I want to continue in while also allowing me to explore a new country. I was placed in a sustainable fashion company which is exactly what I want to do in. The internship was as a social media intern and I had such a great experience that I actually got hired afterwards! I will be continuing at this company as a social media manager now. While I had some experience beforehand in this job force, I was able to get a new experience. I saw some more behind the scenes of this industry and learned a lot. I would just be sure to ask questions about your internship beforehand like commute, what exactly you'd be doing, how often you'd be working, and more beforehand so you know what to expect from all aspects. We were able to travel to other countries in this time as well which was really exciting. Global Experiences sets up different activities so that we could have different experiences like wine tours, cooking classes, painting classes, and dinners. This experience in general was a great learning experience. It teaches you how to be independent and figure things out in the moment. There can be problems that occur that could occur anywhere, big and small, but you figure out how to fix it or advocate for yourself so you can resolve these issues. It was a great growing and adulting experience.
I would do it all over again
April 10, 2023by: Valerie Ryan - United StatesI participated in the Spring 2023 Global Experiences program in Florence, Italy. Overall, Global Experiences offered me an experience like no other and I'm glad I chose an internship program rather than a study abroad. In our day and age you cannot receive almost any job without experience and that's exactly what I was offered. I feel very fortunate for the placement I received as a journalism major because I was able to create an extensive portfolio of writing and media material. Additionally, within the tuition paid the program organizes various activities such as wine tours, bike tours, day trips to different cities, and much more. It created a sense of community and a group of people from all over the United States to share this wonderful experience with. An important notion to remember about interning abroad is every experience is what you make of it. There of course were things that didn't turn out accordingly to plan, but there was always a solution. Similarly, being abroad you are supported by program directors and location coordinators, but you are an adult and must advocate for yourself when you disagree or are in need of help. Global Experiences was there to listen and help, which was extremely comforting. I would recommend this program to anyone because its an opportunity to work, make great friends, and completely immerse yourself in a different lifestyle.
A chance to learn a lot about myself and the world
April 02, 2023by: Katin Cedarholm - United StatesI am a graduate from university and had the following year free to explore my options. Nowadays, companies want you to stand out and after being told about this internship opportunity, it felt like the perfect fit. The chance to go abroad and gain work experience was the perfect option for me and 3 months was the perfect time. I have never been away from home, as I went to school in my local area and stayed home for 3 out of the 4 years, but this program came equipped with a lot of the resources you need like advisors contact info, who responded with sufficient timing and the welcome orientations. Lots of questions were answered for others, I didn’t have many but before the welcome process, in the application, I was explained the chance to receive discount on the fee. That information was super useful. This program offered a lot of location options and career options, they had placed me in a new placement and I was skeptical but you are allowed the chance to interview. They prepare you well for interviews because of the cover letter/resume you need to upload and the strengths assessment which was really insightful and allowed me to learn more about myself and what type of work environment I thrive in. Upon departure, we received our travel insurance and I did not need to rely on it but many others who needed it, had the access. The housing was in a good location, I did enjoy my spot, you do have to understand you are abroad, living will look differently than it does in the US, this shows how to adapt but come in with an open mind and you will catch on. The internship itself was newly created for me, working with a self-established business for tourism/culinary, doing pasta making classes and Airb&b experiences. I got the chance to arrange social media content, edit articles, assist in collaboration and even writing my own articles for the website of my supervisor. it showed me a new side to what I can do with my degree and I had a great dynamic with my supervisor, who I remain in contact with and has connections for me here in the states if needed for a job. The advisors in the program were very attentive and personable. if you have a fear of homesickness or any tough moments or concerns, they are here at your disposal for advice or time to spend with them. They understand what process you are undergoing and do their best to provide the best assistance. Anna and Erica felt like friends to me, people I could trust and enjoy being around too. They explained their beginnings abroad in Florence and it felt nice to have people who were once in your shoes. The events held with Global Experiences like weekend trips to neighboring cities were fun and organized well. It gave a chance to bond with other program members and make friendships. I got to do some extra traveling on my own to other places in my budget and y these trips helped knock out places from my travel checklist without major expense. Overall, this experience is what you make of it and I was financially supporting myself majority of this term so it was another reason to fully immerse myself in what I invested in. It came out giving me a great relationship with myself and having so much appreciation for the culture of being abroad. It tests your adaptability, your balance in making decisions for yourself and also a lot of chance for reflection. If you’re considering this for either reason, job experience or chance to live abroad, please do it! Put your skills to the test and see how well you perform in an unfamiliar place and get to see the beauty of another spot in the world. You have a lot of support through the program.
An amazing traveling experience, but I was not set up for success
December 09, 2022by: Paglia Gruber - United StatesOverall, my time abroad was an amazing experience! I made a lot of new friends and experienced an entirely new work culture I had never been exposed to. The only criticism I have was the communication and organization between my employer and the program prior to the start of my internship. Since I was doing an architecture internship, I was working with a lot of software and computer programs on my private computer. One specific program was not on my resume and was not mentioned in the interview. My employer and I struggled to share drawings because of this, and not having it risked ending my internship early. Luckily I was able to solve the problem and find an educational license for the software. The use of my private computer also prevented me from finishing the project we were working on. The softwares I had to download made it shut down permanently near the end of my internship. My advisors did what they could to help me, but in the end, I did not feel like I was set up for success. For internships that require a significant amount of software (and *very* expensive software at that), there needs to be better communication as to what the employer is providing the intern (computer, software, etc.) and what the intern needs to come prepared with. There was a lot of potential for me to walk away with more experience than I did, but due to the above circumstances, that was not the case. This program is not cheap, so if you are thinking about enrolling, ask more questions and make it clear with your early advisor what your capabilities and expectations are. Aside from my internship, the program did a great job of immersing us into Italian culture. By the end of my time there, I was very comfortable with Florence and traveling to other cities/countries in Europe. I will always be influenced by my time there and can’t wait to return in the future!
Interning in Florence!
December 03, 2022by: Katie Jepson - United StatesI am so grateful for my experience in Florence with Global Experiences!! The internship I was placed in aligned very well with what I was interested in and my supervisor was the kindest woman to work with. I keep reflecting on how lucky I am for all the wonderful people involved in my journey including the other interns I was able to connect with and enjoy social events with that GE provided for us. The coordinators were awesome and super friendly as well. I want to highlight how incredible our coordinator Anna Gomez was with the efforts she made to help me out when I really needed support. She never failed to be there for me for guidance/help and I appreciate it more than anything. I’ll never forget this amazing trip!
A great internship opportunity
November 30, 2022by: Chloe R - United StatesBeing a part of Global Experience's Florence program was a great opportunity to be fully immersed in the culture and lifestyle of another country, while also working in an environment where you gain valuable work skills and knowledge. Global Experiences placed me in an internship that was a great fit for my career and life goals, and I enjoyed it so much. I had an amazing experience working for a travel company in Florence, and now it is a unique asset that I can add to a resume. Apart from my internship, Global Experience's cultural events also helped to immerse interns in life abroad. With Global Experiences, we had traditional Italian meals, took day trips to surrounding Tuscan cities, and partook in activities like cooking and wine-tasting. Overall, I would recommend this program to prospective interns because it allows you to not only grow professionally, but personally as well.
Growth
November 16, 2022by: Cora Schrankler - United StatesOverall i think the program is wonderful. I would say communication before the program starts could be better due to finding out all the information only a few weeks before leaving is very stressful. We didn’t find out our roommates or housing until a little over a week to arriving and interviewing for our internships was fairly last minute as well. However, once arriving, it was smooth sailing for myself. I felt right at home in Florence and also felt like I had support. I arrived to Florence late due to travel issues, and Erica was so great with communicating with me and making sure I was okay with my travels. My internship overall was a lot of fun and I enjoyed the type of work Italy utilizes. Lots of work but also appreciating a break in the day. I also was able to really dive into the culture of Italy and meet many locals around my age that I will be staying in touch with.
The best 3 months!
November 10, 2022by: Kate Gardner - United StatesHaving the opportunity to go abroad for work experience has made me a more confident and competent individual. Through Global Experiences, I was able to work with a Psychotherapist in Florence, Italy. The ability to work in the psychological field allowed me to simultaneously get an individualistic approach of psychotherapy, while also encouraging me to broaden my horizons as a young adult. Through my 3 months in Florence, I was able to successfully adjust to Italian culture while also creating some of the best work experiences and memories I have ever had!
I had an amazing experience!
November 09, 2022by: Giuseppina Frigolino - United StatesI am so grateful I did this internship! It was truly an amazing experience. I’ve learned a lot about myself & about what my next steps for my career will be from here. I loved everything I did in my role here and the atmosphere around me has helped me grow as a person in both my personal life and in my career.
This experience was like none other
November 09, 2022by: Sorelys Bedoya - United StatesThis experience was like none other, I really enjoyed getting a feel for the workforce abroad. This program helped me not only learn more about myself as a person, but also learn more about what I want to do with my career moving forward. I am very grateful for having experienced this and I am excited for the future.
A great experience in Florence
November 04, 2022by: Sarah Delaney - United StatesI'm so happy I chose to go abroad after college. I always wanted to study abroad in college, but wasn't able to due to Covid. I knew when I found Global Experiences that it was going to be a perfect option for me. The company seemed so professional and had great reviews. Once getting here, I got to meet my location coordinators, Anna and Erica, who were nothing but helpful and supportive through out the whole experience. I'm so happy I chose Florence. It's not as huge as Rome and Milan, and I thought it was a perfect size city for me. It truly became my home away from home. I was also very lucky with my internship placement. The 22 couldn't have been a better fit for me. Everyone I worked with was so welcoming and I really felt apart of the team. I felt that the projects I worked on really helped the company. I highly recommend living abroad, whether in college or post-college. It helps you learn more about yourself, what you want out of a career, and grow your overall confidence.
I have learned so much from my placement
November 04, 2022by: Nicole Dominguez - United StatesThis opportunity to work abroad and go to a new city has been amazing. I have learned so much from my placement and it has definitely helped me narrow down what sector I would like to work with within my industry. GE has also allowed me to not only make professional connections but personal ones that I will be in contact with even when I am back home. I loved being so close to the city center in Florence and the activities that were planned such as wine tasting in Siena and bike rides in Luca. Anna Gomez has also been great at helping me with recommendations and other bookings. She has always been consistent and so efficient and I really appreciated that. Overall I am so happy that I go to experience this at a point in my life where I was not sure what I wanted to do career wise, and I have made memories that will last me a lifetime!!
The best 3 months of my life, spent with 12 friends for life
April 29, 2022by: Xavi Krauss - United StatesPre-departure to the program, my body was filled with fear and excitement. I questioned, who will I be living with? Will we get along? How will adjust to this new country alone? As I stepped into my new apartment, I was greeted with immense warmth and welcome by my 10 sisters. Located just a couple of feet away from the famous Ponte Vecchio, surrounded by local boutiques, and a market just downstairs, this had all felt like a dream. Overwhelming love and joy rushed through my body, especially shocked by how big, beautiful, and modern our living space was. By the end of just the first month of the program, my roommates and fellow interns grew so close together and have traveled to 1 country and 3 cities already. GE's events were thoroughly enjoyable, full of aperetivos, wine tasting, and even bike tours in Luca! Location Coordinator, Anna, made the experience even more enjoyable and was so helpful in anything we needed. Medical attention was easily accessible, with the help of our coordinator. By the end of the program, Florence felt like home, and my roommates are family. My internship placement far exceeded all of my expectations, located just a 20-minute scenic walk. The work environment was relaxed, yet productive. I shared close relationships with my boss and collegues, while learning so much about the fashion industry. The highlight of this internship was being given tasks such as writing newsletters and uploading new collections to the site. In particular, my opinions were heard, and work was praised, rather than getting put on the sidelines to do random tasks, I felt important and worked collaboratively with my team. Overall, my experience was a 10/10, and I couldn't have asked for it to be any other way.
Best 3 months ever!
April 29, 2022by: Katie Lesha - United StatesMy internship placement was a 10 out of 10. I felt supported, learned so much, and had such great relationships with my boss and coworkers. I felt like a valued member of the company and loved my day to day work life. GE really sets everyone up with such amazing employers. I formed long term relationships and will always hold this experience close to my heart.
Insane experience!
April 14, 2022by: Mark Montgomery - United StatesThis trip/internship really was something I will never forget. All of the other interns were super great and fun people and the companies that were paired with all of us had our best interests. They could not have been selected better. Thank you to Global Experiences for the amazing opportunity. Anna Gomez was our coordinator and I cannot express enough about how much she helped all of us. She was super fast with responding to emergencies and helpful when needed.
Best experience!
March 29, 2022by: Jordan DeLuce - United StatesGlobal Experiences in Florence, Italy is an absolutely amazing program. You get set up with amazing housing with the best group in the best city. Our location coordinator was there every step of the way and the sweetest person I’ve ever met. The group was incredible and all like minded people. Florence is beautiful and we got to experience it in amazing way. The housing was in a great walkable location close to so many local places. The events we had on the weekends were SO fun and the highlight of our time here.
The experience of a life time!
March 29, 2022by: Sean Harris - United StatesGlobal Experience's provided me with an experience of a life time. It was incredibly enriching to be able to work in a different culture while simultaneously learning more about my field of work. While interning abroad is the main component to GE’s program, they provided me with other culturally enriching experiences. The language classes my fellow interns and I took our first three weeks abroad was one of my favorite parts of my time abroad. We had language classes in the morning and the entire afternoon free to explore our host city. What truly made the whole experience worth it were the friends you meet along the way. My fellow interns and I became amazing friends during our time abroad. GE is a great program that allows you the freedom to travel and live a life abroad. Highly recommended!
Best abroad experience ever!!!
March 29, 2022by: Madeline Sy - United StatesI truly enjoyed every moment of my abroad experience. My internship match was a perfect fit and I learned more skills in this program than in any other internship experience I ever had back in the states. My location coordinator anna was such a help in getting me through the culture shock and concerns I had with working abroad!
Such a growing experience!
March 28, 2022by: Abigail Ferenz - United StatesI had an amazing time exploring Italy and Europe with the other interns. I didn’t expect to leave the program with 12 new best friends from across the US. The program outings were a blast, getting to have new experiences that I otherwise would not have had. For the internship, I got to develop a great relationship with the Psychotherapist I worked with. He gave me the opportunity to sit in on therapy sessions, allowing me to develop a greater understanding of the therapeutic field.

Joyful
March 28, 2022by: Cierra Brown - United StatesFrienze is an amazing city to live in the culture alone is something to behold and being in Italy is great because there are so many city you can visit. On the left side of ponte vecchio there are so many “in the wall” shops that you can find amazing little souvenirs at. On near the domo you can find nice restaurants to eat at while looki mg at the grand church. But my favorite part of living here is the carousel it makes for amazing photo shoots!
The best decision I've ever made
March 28, 2022by: Angela Chan - United StatesInterning abroad in Florence, Italy with Global Experiences this semester, Spring 2022, was the best decision I've ever made. I feel so lucky to have met my fellow interns in the program, traveled to so many places within Italy and throughout Europe, and to have had such an amazing internship experience. There's nothing I recommend more than interning abroad with GE for students that are looking for an experience like this during college or post-grad. (Especially in Florence!)
Amazing experience!
March 28, 2022by: Ashlyn G - United StatesI had the best time with this program! I loved all the people in the program, and I know I have lifelong friends in them! The city of Florence is amazing and the best city to intern in. Everything is walkable and easy to get to, which makes a huge difference when you dont have a car. This will forever be my favorite city! The on-site staff were helpful and very responsive. Housing was very nice with an amazing location. I will forever recommend this program.
Pretty as a postcard
March 28, 2022by: Amber Ritschel - United StatesGetting to work my dream job in such a picturesque place has been an experience I will always hold near and dear to my heart. It has reinforced my passion for photography and reminded me how far I’ve come both personally and professionally. I can’t wait to come back one day!

Never want to leave
December 10, 2021by: Madison Sparks - United StatesGE made it really easy to adjust and the activities planned were amazing! Anna was the best location coordinator I could’ve asked for and she made it the trip unforgettable. My internship was an incredible experience and I learned so much and had the most amazing boss.
I had the time of my life
December 06, 2021by: Charlotte Goudail - United StatesIt was wonderful and I would tell everyone to do it too. I was amazing and unforgettable. I loved Italy it was so amazing. Cannot believe how awesome this is. Everyone should do it. Anna is the best and this city is beautiful.
Florence changed me
December 06, 2021by: Daniella Gilyana - United StatesI have studied abroad in Florence before, so I already knew what to expect upon arriving, but I would say this time was entirely different. I was no longer a tourist; I became a resident. Throughout these three months, I have worked full-time, I have interacted with Italians and adjusted to their lifestyle and language, bought my own groceries, cooked my own meals, and I can’t even tell you how many loads of laundry in between all those tasks… The most exciting thing for me, above all, was being introduced to wonderful, lifelong friends within the program, and to have had the opportunity to travel with them to different cities where we immersed ourselves within Italian life and culture. My only wish is that the program could have been six months, or at least a year. I would have loved to have taken a full course Italian class, and in terms of the events that were planned, I wish that we had been scheduled to go to every major city in Italy and have overnight stays so we could truly experience in it’s fullest. I lived on my own during the course, but I have to say to anyone looking to do a Global Experiences Internship program to definitely consider having roommates. You will always have someone there for you, and every day just feels richer with those people in it. You will make the most outstanding friends, and have no doubt that your stay will be filled with endless laughter and memories… Personally, I have grown very much here. I have endured tragic news from home, I have endured making close relationships with the locals here and then losing them, and I have endured the simple, yet never easy responsibility of living on my own. I’ve lived on my own before, but in a new country, where you don’t know anyone, it’s really taking a big risk. Be social, involve yourself in every event that you can, and remember that you can sleep when you get back home. Don’t waste a single second, because those three months fly by like a dream. Florence, I will miss you very much.
It was truly a dream to be able to live in Florence!
December 04, 2021by: Alysse Armstrong - United StatesWhen I decided to go abroad, I was very thankful for the opportunity to intern abroad. This gave me the opportunity to go abroad & build my resume by working with an international company! I had a great time working at my company and made some of my best friends there. The program activities were always wonderful & our location coordinator, Anna was simply the best!!
Great experiences!
December 04, 2021by: Isabel Donnini - CanadaReflecting on my time in Florence, IT, it has been one of the greatest experiences. The internship i was placed with came along with wonderful coworkers to make it a amazing time. We did various excursions as a group that were things I would not have done alone, and am thankful to have shared them with a wonderful group of people. The most notable person in this experience was our wonderful location coordinator, Anna. Anna was the best resource for things to do in Florence, help with our jobs and providing advice in any manner necessary. She was a person that made the spaces feel safe and welcoming, and it was comforting knowing that she was supporting us the whole way through. I will forever be grateful for everything Anna has done for me, and everything she has taught me.

I had the time of my life !
November 15, 2021by: Elijah Thielk - United StatesThis experience was amazing and I was extremely thankful that Anna was there to help me along the way! I would definitely recommend this to my friends. GE was also extremely helpful in getting me an amazing job that I won’t ever forget.
Best experience and internship!
November 19, 2019by: Prasanna Patel - United StatesI would highly recommend this program to anyone looking to experience a new culture and city. I interned in Florence, Italy as a tour guide for the Florence Duomo and had the opportunity to learn so much about art history and the Italian Renaissance through my job. I also met people from all over the world every day, which was so fun and rewarding. Global Experiences does a great job with career coaching and preparing you to work in a new culture and environment. GE also provides social activities that help you get to know the city and your fellow interns a lot better. Thanks to GE, I was able to both work in a field that I love and explore a new city and culture that I will forever cherish.
The best decision I ever made
November 19, 2019by: Maxine de la Houssaye - United StatesChoosing Global Experiences turned out to be the perfect program to achieve what I wanted. I was paired with the best internship I could have asked for and lucky enough for my roommates at the apartment we were placed in to become some of my best friends. Florence itself is an amazing city and I loved living there, but the security and placement of the internship you are paired with was the best part. I wanted an internship abroad that would be legitimate and look good on my resume, and that's exactly what I got. For three months I did something I was passionate about and worked with an employer who cares about her intern and wants to help them learn.
Best decision of my 22 year old life
November 17, 2019by: Emily Hecht - United StatesI cannot recommend this program highly enough - the past three months have been easily the best of my life so far thanks to the friends I made in the program, the company I worked for in Florence, and the adventures we had both with GE but also on our own. I chose to go through GE because I just graduated college and I wanted to combine my degree with a new field, and my fashion business internship gave me the skills and experience I needed to become more employable. We were always in contact with our Location Coordinator so if we ever had issues with housing or anything else, they were solved quickly. We had a number of excursions that were included with GE which were awesome but we also travelled by ourselves and saw so much of Italy during our weekends there. It's difficult to pinpoint what exactly made this such an unforgettable journey but I'd say it was the joy of immersing in a new culture (becoming a true local, even speaking Italian in an office setting), being both challenged and rewarded in working for a foreign company, and becoming such close friends with the other girls in the program. Choosing Global Experiences, and specifically Florence as my host city, was undoubtedly the best decision I made and I would recommend it again and again!

Culinary internship
November 15, 2019by: Ivy Foley - United StatesI completed the fall internship program for culinary in Florence Italy and it had been far better than I had ever imagined. The restaurant that I worked at had been so kind and professional. They taught me so many things that I had not even learned in Culinary school. They were also so patient as I worked around the language barriers and cultural differences from Italy and the USA. I created some friends here that I know will last a life time and I honestly wouldn't trade this experience that I had received for the world. My program coordinator, Anna had been extremely helpful through this entire journey. She had been here to answer my questions day and night. She was always someone I could turn to when problems would arise with the housing or other miscellaneous things to advice to better prepare myself in the future. GE was very hands on and quick to aid us with any questions that I had. They adapted with my request for school forms and various other things and the program cost was well worth the experience that you receive from this placement. Doing the 12 week program here taught me so much both in the industry and about myself along the way. I will always be grateful for this opportunity that Global Experience provided me with.
The time of my life in Florence
November 13, 2019by: Jillian Augusta - United StatesInterning abroad in Florence was one of the best decision I've made in my life thus far. Global Experience was absolutely wonderful in guiding me through the process, and placing me with an internship that was well suited for my future career plans. In addition to the wonderful staff and experience abroad, the cultural events hosted by GE were some of the best memories I had while living in Florence. They're a great way to bond with your fellow interns and explore pieces in or around the city from an insider perspective. One of the best experiences we did was the Siena wine tour in the Chianti region of Tuscany. We got to explore a region of Tuscany famously known for its infamous Chianti Classico wines. It was wonderful to go outside the city for a day and explore the pristine Tuscan countryside. Plus, the winery was absolutely gorgeous. The staff were kind and welcoming when we arrived, gave us a full tour and tasting/lunch for the afternoon. An truly wonderful experience! I highly recommend Global Experiences to anyone wishing to work abroad. They're a reputable and well run company focused on providing the best experiences for their interns. I highly recommend this abroad experience to anyone- I had the time of my life!

Walked away with more than I could have imagined
July 23, 2019by: Cheyanne Andaya - United StatesI am so happy I chose to intern in Florence. I had the opportunity to work with the Bravo Savings Network, an affiliate marketing company. I learned so much and may even come back for a job after graduation. The location coordinator Anna was awesome, she planned excursions that were super fun and memorable like Fresco painting at the Piazzale Michelangelo. Just make sure to double check everything in your flat is working so you avoid any unnecessary fees when you move out! I learned a lot about myself and the beautiful Italian culture, and made some really good friends along the way. I definitely recommend Global Experiences' Florence Internship program for anyone looking to gain a competitive edge while getting a taste of the more relaxed Florence environment!
Perfect fit
July 19, 2019by: Arielle Erickson - United StatesI have had an amazing time in Florence with Global Experience. I was placed at the restaurant, La Menagere, which turned out to be the perfect fit for me! I learned new skills and techniques, got to experience the restaurant environment, and made connections in the food industry. My coworkers embraced me with open arms and became like family to me. I loved our location coordinator, Anna Pascarella, she was incredibly helpful and caring. She went above and beyond to make sure things turned out well. My only complaint would be the cost of the program itself and how limited scholarships are. Despite the cost, I don't regret doing this program with Global Experience and am so happy that it happened. Thank you
Must do experience!
July 19, 2019by: Amanda Padron - United StatesLiving and being able to spend my summer in Florence was a dream. Not only did I grow personally but I grew professionally. My internship was an amazing experience and I got to partake in major industry events which will look amazing on my resume. The social events planned by GE and Anna were so much fun and unique. Anna was the best location coordinator ever! She was always available to help you in literally any way you needed. She really helped make this experience not only better but easier. Whatever industry you may want to intern in, you won’t regret doing it in Florence!
Huge cultural exposure and involvement
July 19, 2019by: Stanley Taylor - United StatesGlobal Experiences has done an exceptional job at providing the best aboard experience that I could've ever asked for. The multiple group activities around the city and beyond have truly helped me be more informed on Italian culture plus I've identified independence and a sense of adventure within my self. Visiting historical monuments and seeing paintings that are otherworldly has opened my eyes and has pushed me to seek more information about the history that surrounds me. Global Experiences has given me the best experience of my life and a time that I will never forget. My internship was perfect for what I wanted to do, I've gained so much knowledge about my field of work and my co-workers were some of the best people I've ever meet. I've gained a connection with my internship company and will continue to keep in contact with them in the future. Anna, Rachel, and others have been nothing but outstanding at communicating and helping with the entire process of living and working aboard. I'm grateful for this unforgettable experience in Florence, I want to thank everyone at Global Experiences for this life-changing opportunity.
Amazing!!
July 19, 2019by: Ethan Reiss - United StatesEverything was amazing and well organized where Anna and GE made my internship and placement run smoothly. I interned with a travel company called Bus2Alps and my bosses and fellow co workers made the working environment fun to be in, especially with Pino and Sunny who are dogs. Everyday I would experience something new in Florence as there are so many cultural events and activities. Living in Florence for a second time is even more life changing and I will forever remember the friends I made and the memories I created with them. If it wasn't for Anna and GE I wouldn't have been able to create these memories on my own that have helped me gain a better perspective on the kind of person I want to be for the rest of my life.

The best experience!
July 16, 2019by: Claire Harman - United StatesThis experience was an opportunity I could not miss. I was able to do an internship in Florence and gain more knowledge in a different culture as well as the industry I plan to make my career. While in Florence Anna, Rachel, and everyone else made it easy to meet the other interns and showed us what and where to go. They did an amazing job on providing excursions outside the city of Florence. This summer has been impeccable and all thanks to global experiences providing me with an internship, friends, and a great staff of people.
Great overall experience
July 16, 2019by: Andrew Gagliostro - United StatesI was very happy with my summer experience in Florence. On the end of Global Experiences, they made the entire process very easy and ensured that everything went smoothly. Anna was very helpful and went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable and satisfied with our experience throughout our time here. My internship placement was great, and my supervisors and coworkers at Appstyx were great to work with and allowed me to learn and grow throughout my time here.
Going beyond studying abroad
July 16, 2019by: Mya Grace Bevis - United StatesGlobal Experiences provided an experience that has not only assisted me in my studies and professional career, but is one that I will forever cherish for leaving such a large impact on my life. My internship placement turned out being more than I could have asked for-- it pushed me as a learner, challenged me as a designer, and helped me grow as a person. As a student studying many aspects of art, Florence lived up to every bit of my expectations and is certainly the city of every art major's dreams. Full of passion, creativity, and inspiration, this city and program have both pushed me towards new highs in my creative career that will now assist me through many aspects of life as I bring my newly acquired skills back home with me. If you are considering this program at all, I would simply suggest taking a chance on a new culture and Global Experiences and going for it because you will find positive outcomes that stretch beyond your just studies.
Great experience!
July 16, 2019by: Johan Ketkar - United StatesGlobal Experiences (GE) did a great job of designing a program that allowed me to have both a typical study abroad experience as well as a unique internship experience in the same summer. I was able to travel around Europe from the centrally located city of Florence, Italy while also learning a great deal at my internship. Throughout the experience multiple employees from GE proved to be not only invaluable resources to guide us through the summer but also incredible people that I was never hesitant to reach out or even just talk to. I definitely recommend this program to anyone who is looking to find a balance of fun and work abroad for a summer!
Florence + GE = most unforgettable experience ever!
July 16, 2019by: Deja Cook- Reynolds - United StatesMy time here in Florence has been nothing but eye-opening and Global Experiences has helped me from start to finish in cultivating my aboard experience! The location coordinator Anna was the best in helping us get comfortable with the city, building relationships with the other inters, through the amazing social events she planned and the great roommate placement, and just being there when we needed some help. The other GE professional staff was also always encouraging when it came to becoming acclimated to the environment, as they know that the time difference, cultural differences, and new experiences that we were about to have and are having can sometimes be overwhelming. I never felt alone or like I couldn't ask for help. Global Experiences really made this an easy transition from America to Florence, and I never doubted that this was a great experience!
Greatest summer of my life!
July 16, 2019by: David Powers - United StatesI am an economics major and I interned at a coworking company with a branch in Florence. They are working on expanding their company so I was doing cashflow spreadsheets for them. I picked up a lot of really useful skills for life and my major on the way. Global Experiences was very accommodating and put together many fun trips for our whole group. These trips included biking around Lucca, doing a sunset river cruise in Florence, going wine tasting in Tuscany, and more! My location coordinator was amazing and so helpful! Everything about this summer was so incredible, and I'm so glad Global Experiences gave me this opportunity!
Great experience!

July 11, 2019by: Francesca Sena - United StatesBeing able to live and work in Florence is an experience I will never forget. Global Experiences did an amazing job placing me with the perfect match for my internship. I interned with a travel and tour company where I wrote blogs for their website and managed their social media. I was able to go on tours and fun excursions around Florence and learned so much about my host city along the way. My internship pushed me outside of my comfort zone in the best way and has made me a stronger writer and given me the confidence and skills needed to . I am so thankful for my time in Florence and the connections and friendships I have made here and I couldn't have done it without the help of everyone at GE!
An experience I’ll never forget!

GE made everything so easy and as stress-free as possible and made me feel so welcome. We had many social events orchestrated by the staff and it was a great way to meet and bond with all of the other interns from the program. I feel very accomplished after doing this program and feel that it will set me apart from others on my resume. I’m so grateful to GE for this once in a lifetime experience and all of the people I’ve met along the way!
Fun in Florence!
April 16, 2019by: Emily Brown - United StatesI loved my time in Florence, Italy! Something that was really important to me when looking for internships abroad was flexibility and the ability to travel. Global experiences was so good at placing me in my internship. I interned for a wedding planned and in the process I got to learn a lot about that world. Not only was I challenged in the workplace and given ample opportunities to throw in my own creative flares but I was also able to travel each weekend. Over the span of 3 months I traveled to 9 countries and countless cities within each. I absolutely loved the ability to travel and the times that I got to explore the beautiful world. I also got to live with 4 other girls that were interning with Global Experiences and little did I know that they would grow so dear to my heart! I am so thankful for the time that I had in Italy and the amazing things that I got to learn through new cultures, new friends and work experience! I would do it all over again!
Interning in Florence, Italy
April 05, 2019by: Jessica Thompson - CanadaGlobal Experiences was one of the best decisions I have ever made! Not only was the work placement perfect, allowing me to use my university education daily, but I gained so much knowledge about the Italian culture and lifestyle. Global Experiences provided so much to further enhance my experience in Italy - Day trips to surrounding Tuscan regions, including wine tours, were fun and informative, while cultural events, including gelato making and a fresco/painting workshop, were tasty and creative. The Florence location coordinator, provided by GE, was incredibly kind and helpful, supportive and compassionate, with great advice on things to do in the city. Interning with Global Experiences is so much more than just a work experience. It is an experience that allows you to live your life like a true Italian - a real cultural work experience!
Wonderful, enriching experience!
April 04, 2019by: Lindsay Goodenough - United StatesMy time interning in Florence was such a wonderful experience and opportunity! I found global experience to be organized and very helpful when I first began looking into doing an internship abroad. They were there for me every step of the way. I was also very comfortable upon arriving in Florence and felt prepared for what I was in for since we had a webinar before departure with details on everything we needed to know. My location coordinator was amazing and took us all on some great day trips throughout my time there! She was there for us when we had a question or needed advice. My fellows interns were also incredible and I am thankful to now call them friends. Overall, I enjoyed my experience interning in Florence!
Amazing experience working in Florence!
November 26, 2018by: Anna Hyman - United StatesBefore I graduated I knew I wanted to go abroad, but also use my degree so this sounded like the perfect option. GE found my an awesome internship that I challenged me and had a lot to do with my major in college. The system is set up very nicely with the housing in a perfect location, and always someone to contact when you had any questions or concerns. Everything was really organized and I loved how they offered us day trips and other activities to do together as a group so you really feel included and immersed. We did a cooking class and a bike tour in Lucca! I would recommend this to anyone. It will challenge you and push you out of your comfort zone and by the end you will be amazed at what you can accomplish. I would love to do it over and over again.
Best working abroad experience!
November 26, 2018by: Anna Hyman - United StatesGE was the perfect option for me after I graduated. I knew I wanted to live abroad but I wanted to use my degree in some way as well, so GE helped me do that by finding me a great internship that interested me and strengthened my skills. The housing was in the perfect location and was very clean and all around great!
Experience of a lifetime!
November 20, 2018by: Grace Cooper - United StatesInterning abroad was the best decision I've ever made! GE helped me to find the perfect placement, making my experience the best it could possibly be. They put me in an environment where I thrived work wise and a place where it helped me to meet other people.
I am so happy I did this!
November 16, 2018by: Christy Smith - United StatesI graduated college in May and wanted a way to travel while building my resume. I found Global Experiences online and decided to apply. I am so happy I did! I had the best time. Interning abroad working with a completely different culture is so different and interesting. You learn so much about yourself and other cultures through this experience. I would definitely recommend!

Interning in Florence
July 12, 2018by: Corrine Helman - United StatesMy time in Florence is coming to a close and I could not be more happy about what I have accomplished here. I felt like I was already pretty independent to begin with but now I have really pushed myself out of my comfort zone in ways that have made me grow as a person. I would tell anyone who is thinking about interning abroad is to just do it. There is no comparison to this kind of experience. GE has prepared their interns so well but also gives them space to make the internship what they want. I'm so grateful GE gave me this experience.
Intern in Florence
July 12, 2018by: Maggie - United StatesInterning in Florence has been amazing! Florence is a city unlike any other and being able to experience Florence during the summer has been incredible. Florence has so much to see and offer. The ability to live and work in Florence has allowed me to learn more about the culture and enjoy the city more. This has been one of the best experiences I've had.
Real world experience in old world Florence
July 10, 2018by: Alexandria H. - United StatesI only have a few days left with my internship here in Florence, Italy, and I could not be more proud and surprised at what I have been able to accomplish in just 8 weeks. I have been working as an Interior Design intern for a local architecture firm, and from day one, they had me working on practical tasks, similar to what I would do on a daily basis in school. I have used everything from AutoCAD, Rhino, Sketchup, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop...if it's a skill I've learned, my job has required me to use it. Even better still, I have learned new ways of working that are completely different to how design is taught in the United States. This internship has really pushed me past my comfort zone in the best way possible, and I am going into my Fall Semester more excited about my future than I ever thought possible. Between the office skills, people skills, and friends I've made here, I landed in Florence a nervous/excited student and I am leaving Florence as a more independent, resilient, and confident future designer! I now know, without a doubt, that architecture and interior design are what I want to do with my life, and I know more about how I work best to make sure that the future I want is the one I will have! Thank you, so much, to everyone at Global Experiences! And if you are thinking about interning abroad, do it! Just try! It has been one of my best decisions I've made ever!
Went with the Flo
March 29, 2018by: Victoria - United StatesI absolutely loved my Global Experience! Not only did I feel at home in Florence, I wish I didn't have to leave. I think the best experiences in life are the one's in which you just go for something and go with the flow. The city is so dense with culture and I have met people from all over the world and I genuinely feel like this experienced has opened my mind and enriched my professional and personal growth. Interning in another country is will not only show you that you can achieve challenges, but also the experience is rewarding and prepares you for the adversity in the professional world that will forever change your life.

Wedding planning internship in Florence
March 29, 2018by: Emily Shakesby - United KingdomI came to Florence with very little expectations, I have always loved Italy so I was never unsure that I made the wrong decision but I didn't know how much I would fall in love with this city. Best experience I could have asked for!
Amazing experience
November 16, 2017by: Donald N Thibodeaux - United StatesChoosing to study abroad with global experiences is hands down one of the best decisions I've ever made. Florence has forever plastered itself to my heart, the art, the life style and of course the food. Everyday in this great city was an opportunity for a life changing adventure. Throughout my internship I made great friends and great connections for my career and had an immense amount of fun doing it. It was a once in a life time opportunity and I am so glad I took advantage of it.

Florence
November 16, 2017by: Paola Pérez - MexicoMy experience in Florence was the best! I met so many people that I now they are very important in my life!!. There were social events provided by GE that helped us get to know each and the chance to know Florence and Italy in different way! I have the opportunity to travel a lot in Italy and I´m in love for this country!!!

Going beyond your average study abroad experience
November 15, 2017by: Cheyenne - ItalyWhen I first arrived in Florence I felt like I was in a Medieval Disney World. As I walked along the cobblestones in the city center I was greeted by breathtaking architecture, world-famous statues, and a violin's serenade. This city is truly special as it has all the attractions of a large city while being completely walkable and safe. Like the city of Florence itself, Global Experiences is also unique. Most of the Americans in Florence are studying aboard with other people from their University and, as a result, the vast majority only hang out with other Americans. However, because Global Experiences partners with a language school that has people from all over the world and places you in real Italian work environments you will inevitably meet and talk with people who are not American. I believe that this is extremely important because the whole point of going abroad is to go outside of your comfort zone. The internship that Global Experiences placed me with was perfect. I wanted an internship within the field of Journalism. I was paired up with Florence News, a publication for American students and tourists in Florence. While I thought I would just help edit, I actually got to write articles! I learned about what makes a good lead, how to write hard news stories, and the ins and outs of AP Style. While I was not enrolled in a University class while here, I believe that the experience I gained from my internship has taught me more than any journalism class would. All in all, because of this program I have become friends with people from completely different cultures, tasted wine properly, eaten my weight in gelato, overcome language barriers, and developed into a more self-sufficient and globally aware person. If you are considering this program, I would suggest that you stop thinking and apply for the program today.
The opportunity of a lifetime
November 15, 2017by: Nikkie Stutts - ItalyThroughout my time here in Florence, Italy, as a Global Experiences intern I have not only changed immensely as a person but seen my fellow friends and interns change as well. The experience that I have gained from this internship truly is once in a life time. I have grown and experienced so much as a young adult entering my career path through this extraordinary program. This internship has truly given me the confidence to continue with my passion into forthcoming jobs. I am excited for what the future may hold for me, Global Experiences has opened many doors along my career path.
Great opportunity to grow personally & professionally
November 15, 2017by: Ashley Kotar - CanadaMy internship in Florence was incredible because it taught me a lot about myself in terms of flexibility, self-confidence, communication and it was a great chance to travel! I was able to learn a lot in my field, but also about myself, I've changed for the better from this experience. Also, because Florence is so close to many great cities, I was able to explore all the popular and really cool little-known towns and cities within Italy, and the rest of Europe as well.
Best time of my life
November 13, 2017by: Cecelia - United StatesThis was the best experience I’ve ever had. I have learned so much in not only my field of work, but the culture of other nations. 10/10 all across the board. I made life long friends and memories. I wouldn’t change a thing.
Florence study abroad
November 13, 2017by: Cheyanne - United StatesWhen í was first preparing for this opportunity í was a little nervous because í had never traveled out of the country by Myself. Upon arrival í was greeted by my landlord who was very nice and accommodating. My apartment here was so beautiful and spacious. The location was better than í could ever dream, ít was so perfect. Ï met my roommates shortly after ï arrived and they have easily become some of my very best friends. My internship here with a film company was all í could ever dream of and more, because of global experiences í am certain what í want to do with my future and í feel as though ít has shaped me into a better person. The best summer job is one in Italy
July 27, 2017by: EEH - St LouisMy summer in Florence was my second experience with GE, and I cannot recommend them enough. From my first contact with the team in the US, to the on-location support from Rachel in Florence, they are so friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic about helping people live and intern abroad. I studied in Florence my junior year, and came back for my internship after graduating from university. Interning here has been such a great experience, and I feel like it gave me an even more authentic Italian experience than when I studied here. The social events here (including wine tastings and cooking classes) were a great way to meet other likeminded people, and it was so much fun getting to explore Italy together in our free time. I cannot think of anywhere back in the US where I would've had these kinds of opportunities (professional or personal), which is why if you're thinking of interning in Florence--DO IT.
Florence
July 27, 2017by: alm2010My time in Florence was amazing! I met so many people that I immediately connected with because we were all in it together. There were social events provided by GE that helped us get to know each other and a chance to travel. This was exactly what I was looking for!
A summer to discover
July 27, 2017by: Giio - Florencethis summer have been amazing in so many ways, from the beginning to the end... I had the opportunity of getting to know new people with the same interest as me, as well as living the great experience of working in a company with international recognition, in which I had the possibility To watch my career from a new perspective, that will allow me be a better designer now that I start my professional career coming home. This program allowed me to fall in love all over again with a city and a culture that fascinated me since the first time I studied them in college, also I take with me new friendships and work relationships, since the company offered me a long distance job to keep working with them from my country. Im so glad I did this program and I highly recommend it.
Go global with Global Experiences
July 29, 2016by: Janissa Portincaso - United StatesThrough my internship with Global Experiences I found lifelong friendships and countless networking opportunities. Not only did I receive valuable career coaching that will better me for the fashion industry, but the coordinators truly care about each intern and are willing to do whatever necessary to provide the best experience. I traveled to Milan and Paris to work in showrooms for my internship company. I would not have been afforded these opportunities had I interned in the states. If you are looking for a killer internship to put on your resume, look no further than letting Global Experiences place you in the prettiest city in the world. I was able to visit Florence, Zurich, Rome, Milan, Venice, Ravello, Maiori, Positano, Sorrento, Naples, Pompeii, Mt. Vesuvius, Montreal and Paris in my two shorts months with this incredible program.

An Experience of a Lifetime
March 02, 2016by: Jacqueline Morgan - Arlington, TexasThis past summer was one I could never forget! My internship taught me so much about my major and even gave me the opportunity to come back and work for them. It was so amazing being able to work in another country because I learned so much beyond the office! The Global Experiences staff was incredibly helpful and supportive along the way. :) I would recommend this experience to anybody looking for growth in their major and personally. I'm incredibly grateful that I was given this opportunity!

Great Experience!
December 16, 2015by: Vanessa DiPardoMy 3 months in Florence was a dream true! I would recommend anyone fresh out of college to intern abroad (especially Florence). I've lived at home my whole life and living in Europe has definitely enhanced my level of independence and has made me more worldly overall. The first month was great because I brushed up on some of my italian and had a lot of free time to explore the beautiful city of Florence. The last eight weeks were equally as great because I was working at a contemporary art gallery and learned so much. My employers were very kind and made me feel that I was at home. My favourite part about this program was that every week we had scheduled events with GE interns and our internship advisor Rachel. She set up the best weekend excursions in cities all over Tuscany and organized amazing activities in Florence. She made me feel very comfortable as she was always there whenever I needed her. Overall, the food, culture, beautiful scenery and amazing relationships I created along the way made this experience all the more wonderful!
Marketing Intern- Florence
August 24, 2015by: Laura Parsons - Lexington, KentuckyI absolutely loved my time in Florence. I couldn't ask for a better experience. I learned so much from interning abroad. I was given freedom to use what I already knew all the while being encouraged to ask for help. Not only was my internship a great learning experience, but I had the best social experience as well. I loved how Global experiences set you up and help you immerse yourself with new people from all over the world. I would encourage GE to adapt more in depth roommate surveys and try and place you only with GE interns as that was one of the only downfalls. I had a great experience and was so thankful for it. My program advisor in Florence helped make my experience so great and everything run smoothly. I felt safe knowing she would be there in any time of need.
Fun in Florence
August 15, 2015by: Alyssa Gregory - StillwaterI had a great time in Florence with Global Experience. My internship was perfect preparation for my future and I had many amazing opportunities and made lots of memories. My housing was an adorable flat in the middle of Florence and helped me feel submersed in Florence. I was sad to have to leave but will keep the memories forever.
Summer internship in Florence, Italy
August 13, 2015by: Kailey - St. LouisOverall this was a great experience. Rachel and Anna, who both live in Florence, really did a great job getting us set up and comfortable. The social and cultural events were so fun and really helped me immerse myself in the culture. I was also able to make some great friends through the program. My main complaint would be in regards to the internship placement- there seemed to be a lack of communication between the acceptance people (based in the US) and the people actually helping us find jobs, so some of my friends and I struggled finding what we were looking for.
I will return a different person due to studying abroad in Florence
November 18, 2014by: Kelly - MarylandBefore I came to Florence I was an individual who did not step out of their comfort zone. I would eat the same foods, hang out with the same people, participate in the same activities, and never truly challenge myself or my mind. When I stepped off the plane in Florence, that all changed. Studying abroad in a foreign country and immersing myself in a foreign culture allowed me to grow and mature extraordinarily as a human being. I now will try all different kinds of foods, hang out with people from all around the world, participate in activities I never even heard of before coming abroad, and constantly challenge myself with the practices of different cultures all around Europe. I have become a culturally rounded, spontaneous, more intelligent individual due to my time abroad with Global Experiences. I recommend this program to anyone willing to take a step out of their comfort zone and indulge themselves in a different culture; I promise you will not be disappointed in how you grow and learn about the person that you TRULY are.
Best experience of my life
November 18, 2014by: Onelegover - HanoverThe best perks of this experience was the cultural immersion. Definitely very enriching. I enjoyed the language school a lot, and wished that I had more time to continue studying there to improve my Italian. Never had any trouble in the living situation other than a few small, minor conflicts that could easily be solved. The Global Experience team also picked an excellent program coordinator. Rachel was extremely helpful, very easy to get along with, knows the city like the back of her hand, and did not feel like a cheesy tour guide who was babysitting us. I had a little rough start with my actual internship, but Rachel and Anna were more than able to help me resolve this, and it turned out fine in the end. The only thing I would consider improving would be the weekend excursions. I loved going out to travel, but I didn't care much for the fact that we were dragged along on bus trips with other people. I would've been just as happy to go to our destinations by train with the other interns. With downfalls aside, I would definitely relive this experience again if given the opportunity.
Provides You With More Cultural Immersion
August 13, 2014by: l'aereoGE placed me with an English-speaking newspaper in Florence. I wrote all of their advertisements and translated articles to be published. I lived in an apartment in a very residential district, and often took public transportation. After a couple of weeks I had completely adapted to my new lifestyle and was very comfortable meeting new friends, going to the grocery store, and getting around the city. My employers as well as friends we met during our time in Florence would gladly practice Italian with me, and by the end of the trip I could speak comfortably with most Italians (from the north at least!). I felt like an Italian, I ate like an Italian, and I even began dressing like one (to the best of my limited budget!) My GE experience further convinced me of my love for experiencing new cultures, and reinforced my love for the Italian lifestyle. The on-site administration was wonderful. Whitney and Anna were both very helpful and supportive, serving not only as program coordinators, but as friends who knew the city and could give advice on the best places to go and the best things to do and see. The administration back in the States was non-responsive to many emails and was often unclear about very important details. I didn't receive my living address until one day before my flight departure, and the name of the street was spelled incorrectly. When I had a question about something, it would take weeks to get in touch with my administrator. However, I think this is more of a problem of staff shortage than lack of employee competence. When they did have time to answer my questions, they did so effectively. I was speaking Italian for at least a couple of hours every day. My employers as well as friends we met during our time in Florence would gladly practice with us. By the end of the trip I could speak comfortably with most Italians (from the north at least!). I felt like an Italian, I ate like an Italian, and I even began dressing like one (to the best of my limited budget!) I lived very far from the city center, but they must have known that my roommate and I would love it anyway. We reveled in taking the city bus, climbing the long flight of stairs to our fourth floor walk-up, and cooking more than going out. Because we were living solely among residents (all of the students lived closer to the center) it seemed like we legitimately lived there. We were totally immersed, and loved it.
Introduced Me To A New Culture And An Invaluable Opportunity
August 13, 2014by: DanniRosnerIt was my senior year of college and I couldn't let another year pass without trying out Virginia Tech's study abroad program. I was getting dual degrees in English and Music and I wanted to do something different before I graduated because I knew it would be the last chance I had before stepping in the "real world." I searched online for different programs and came across GE- and the study/internship immediately grabbed me. I called the office, set up an in person appointment and was immediately sold with the opportunity to travel to Florence, Italy- study the language for two months and then intern with a business in my field of study. Here's what it all turned into- 6 months that were some of the most incredible and invaluable opportunities that I'll never forget. I lived with a girl in an adorable flat in town that became one of my close friends to this day (she lives in Brazil!), interned at the tourist television station in town and met my first boss, Lorenzo Galanti, and co-worker, Chiara Valentini, my mentors that pushed me to give my best (and I ended up on-air reporting a few stories in Italian and English!), and toured with a jazz/blues band every Wednesday evening singing, hanging out, speaking Italian, and just plain living. If you want to know more, you'll have to find me on instagram @dannirosner! Anyway- the point is, if you're on the fence about doing this program, don't be. This was my first step in becoming who I am today- a giant leap toward independence and taking on the world, that is, I know I was and always will be up for the challenge.
Life Changing Experience! Global Makes Living Abroad A Fun, Stress Free Experience!
August 13, 2014by: CassieIf you are thinking about it, just do it! Being a part of Global's programs will give you a chance that only many people dream of! There is opportunity for growth with the companies in their network and also time for a fantastic and fun social/cultural experience.

Amazing
September 22, 2013by: A. PutmanI had an amazing and challenging experience in Florence!
You pay way too much money
September 22, 2013by: Yes SpartansYou pay way too much money for what you get. Out of the 16 interns here, I'm one of the three that are happy with their internship placement. I paid $8000 and my rent each month can't be more than 600 Euros. With that, the few day trips organized and the few dinners, the flights should definitely be included in the price but aren't. You don't get your money's worth. Living Situation: We were all paying the same amount but there's a big difference between the apartments. Only one is really nice.
