I had an lovely and efficient experience with the intern group, no matter who I interacted with they were kind and helpful, the whole experience was very rewarding and they are always available for any questions along the way! I was really unsure on how it would all go, but I was very impressed and I have nothing but positive things to say. From the start they made the process of finding an internship that would suit my needs so easy and every step of the way they are encouraging you. I absolutely loved my time with them and have zero regrets. I got matched with a company very quickly and I absolutely adored my experience and time with the company I got to work for. Even though it was remote I was still made to feel like I was part of the process and I throughly enjoyed experiencing being part of real work for real people. Even if you are a university student looking to gain experience one summer or a recent graduate there is no doubt in my mind you will gain something valuable from doing an internship with a company that aligns with your career goals.

My experience in Thailand has been so fun! I got to see a lot of the major temples and sites that are a must visit. I made many friends with the other interns here. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. They helped me with any questions I had or anything in general. Overall my experience was amazing, 10/10 would recommend to anyone on the fence about it! I would even come back if I could!

Under the Artbound Initiative Programme, I was assigned as a remote Communications/Writing intern for Vilpa Films, a production company. Before my internship, I was provided with some courses on how to prepare my resume, interview tips, as well as actual meetings with industry experts in fields I was interested in (eg the film industry). During my actual internship, I was given a variety of article types to write about concerning various projects that Vilpa Films was embarking on, such as their original animated series. I managed to learn many skills such as communication with my supervisor who was overseas, while being supported by the ABI team through regular check-ins and informational posts.

I have learnt how to do work online, draft appeals for clients whose cases have been denied, speak some Spanish, update clients about their cases, update the Spanish Bar Association database. Above that, I have learnt that time management, open mindedness, curiosity, confidence and asking questions are key to success. I want to extend my deeper appreciation for your help and guidance through this process. I have got immeasurable knowledge, understanding, work ethic, and experience through this internship. I am all over anew with the internship experience I received.

What I enjoyed most about this internship was the fact that it was abroad (albeit online). Having internships where you're from is fun, but having an internship that's remote, in a country you're not used too, learning different techniques, and immersing yourself in a different culture is very interesting. I also enjoyed the flexibility that came with the remote internship because you could do it on your own time and created your own schedule. I also thinking that learning about photo identification and writing proposals was beneficially and gave me insight into what I want to do when I'm older.

As a fourth-year medical student in the US, the CFHI Virtual Global & Public Health Internship – India was exactly the kind of experience I had been looking for to expand my understanding of health systems beyond the clinical settings I am accustomed to. The live sessions with India-based public health professionals brought real depth to topics I thought I understood from textbooks, things like infectious disease burden, sanitation gaps, and community-level intervention, and hearing about them directly from people doing the work on the ground reframed how I think about health systems entirely. What made the program stand out even further was the inclusion of personal and professional development, and Hindi language lessons, something I did not expect and found genuinely enriching, since being able to connect even a little with the language added a layer of cultural immersion that you rarely get from a virtual program. The program structure moved at a good pace, the CFHI team was responsive whenever I had questions, and the small group discussions with other participants pushed my thinking in directions I did not expect. What stayed with me most was the shift in how I understand cultural humility, not as a competency to check off, but as something that has to be actively practiced every time you step into a health context that is not your own. I plan to pursue global health as part of my career, and this program clarified what that actually means in practice. I would recommend it to any medical student who wants to move beyond the US health system.

An excellent experience for my development as a digital designer, where I was able to learn new things and introduces my skills in the best possible way. I learned a lot about augmented reality and I hope it allows me to find a suitable job.

My experience with the Fundraising & Partnerships Internship at Future for Africa was both eye-opening and empowering. It gave me a practical, behind-the-scenes understanding of what it really takes to sustain impact-driven projects. From the start, I was actively involved in designing and supporting fundraising strategies not just observing, but contributing ideas that were genuinely considered. I had the opportunity to work on grant writing, develop campaign concepts, and assist in planning outreach efforts to both local and international partners. This hands-on exposure made the learning experience very real and valuable. One of the most rewarding aspects was engaging with partners and supporters. Whether it was helping draft communications, contributing to newsletters, or supporting relationship-building efforts, I could see how strong partnerships directly translate into meaningful community impact. The collaborative environment stood out as well. Working closely with the Fundraising and Partnerships Manager and other teams helped me understand how different parts of the organization connect toward a shared mission. I also appreciated the creative freedom especially in developing content for social media and campaigns which allowed me to bring my own ideas to life. This internship is ideal for anyone interested in nonprofit fundraising, communications, or partnership development. It’s not just a learning experience; it’s an opportunity to actively contribute to something meaningful while building practical, transferable skills.

This was an incredibly rewarding experience overall. I was able to build meaningful connections in both my professional and personal life, which made my time abroad even more valuable and memorable. It also gave me the opportunity to apply what I had been studying in a completely new and unfamiliar environment, helping me grow both academically and professionally. I gained confidence in my abilities and developed new skills that I know will benefit me in the future. This kind of hands-on experience has become more difficult to find in my city, where opportunities in my industry have recently become more limited, making this experience even more impactful.

During my internship, I contributed to a sustainability project focused on improving environmental performance and supporting responsible business practices. I assisted with research, data collection, and analysis related to sustainability initiatives, including carbon management and resource efficiency. This experience allowed me to better understand how organizations integrate sustainability strategies into their operations. The internship strengthened my analytical, research, and problem-solving skills while giving me practical exposure to sustainability reporting and environmental impact assessment. What I enjoyed most about this internship is the opportunity to contribute to work that has a clear and meaningful social impact. This made the work feel purposeful rather than purely task-driven. I especially valued the collaborative discussions with my supervisor. Knowing that the materials we create could directly support and empower women in difficult situations made the experience particularly rewarding. This internship strengthened my empathy and cultural awareness. I became more aware of how social, cultural, and economic factors influence personal decision-making, especially regarding sensitive topics like marriage and financial independence. This helped me grow in emotional intelligence and adaptability. Professionally, I gained experience in program design and curriculum brainstorming, improved my ability to communicate clearly in a remote environment, and developed stronger critical thinking skills when tailoring ideas to specific communities. I am also learning the importance of patience and long-term thinking in nonprofit and educational work, where impact is not always immediate but requires strategic planning and collaboration.

I had been researching internship programs for students when, fortunately, I came across Intern Abroad HQ. Through this internship, my supervisor and I worked together very effectively. I was able to focus on refining my skills in identifying marine organisms based on their physical characteristics, as well as learning about various habitats. Furthermore, I gained practical experience in calculating the biodiversity of a community through hands-on application. Although we encountered some minor issues regarding scheduling conflicts during the process, everything proceeded smoothly thanks to effective communication. Consequently, this internship not only helped me enhance desired skills, such as species identification and data analysis, but also taught me how to communicate effectively when working with a partner. One thing that Intern Abroad HQ does exceptionally well, in my experience, is allowing interns to engage in a thorough process of self-reflection following their internship. The reflection questions are rigorous and meaningful, prompting interns to think critically and reflect deeply on both themselves and the organization with which they collaborated.

As a current member of the ABI alumni community, I had such a blast as an ABI participant in 2025. In the span of 1 year, I respectively did two internships: a Magazine Editorial Internship and a Creative Writer Internship. Both taught me so much and allowed me to gain more confidence as an aspiring writer. Additionally, I gained a variety of important lessons and skills through the ABI Academy. These experiences combined have allowed me to grow, evolve, and become a better intern! Thank you, ABI!

I enjoyed learning about dolphin conservation and this internship contributed toward my personal and professional development because l got experience to office work side of conservation and I gained experience in data analysis and photo ID.

Finding an internship as an international student is very tough. Especially when you don’t really have experience related to your field, but Connect-123 made it possible for me to learn and gain experience. It was overall very enjoyable and I am glad to underwent such. Now I have gained some understanding about working in a company to some extent and not to mention, there is also many soft skills which I feel like had improved ever since. My time at this internship has been an incredibly valuable experience. I was initially very nervous to commit, even during the interview. However, I had nothing to worry about since, looking back, I was able to choose the internship field based on my interests and career. They help you along the whole process and answering your questions is just an email away. My experience at my internship organization was your usual spreadsheet task and helping with whatever the team needed. Due to the remote nature, there is only so much you can do to help; they do have in-person ones also! Each organization is different, and depending on the organization, it can affect your experience. My university also offered credits (usually an online class) and covered any costs of the internship as part of the program. I recommend it to any student because not only do you get credit, but you also have the freedom to do other summer activities; the best of both worlds. I'm grateful I had the opportunity to advance my career path, help out a genuine and impactful organization, and learn what real-world work looks like.
