Program Overview

Ready to make a tangible impact? Join our microfinance program in Tanzania, focusing on Village Community Banks (VICOBA) and Economic Empowerment Groups. These initiatives provide vital microloans and financial education to individuals, predominantly women, who lack access to traditional banking. By fostering entrepreneurial support, building confidence, and offering basic security, VICOBAs empower members to launch businesses in agriculture, services, and crafts, ultimately improving livelihoods and increasing access to education. You can contribute on-site in the Kilimanjaro region or remotely from home! You'll assist staff at organizations managing VICOBA groups, supporting them with training, business evaluations, strategy development, marketing, preparing loan assessments and monitoring credits, administration, project planning, customer care and services, and more. If you choose to intern or volunteer directly in Tanzania, we'll arrange your accommodation in a shared house or guesthouse. You can also opt for a homestay in Moshi for an even deeper immersion into Tanzanian life. Anyone over 18 years old can do this program.
