Program Highlights

Many volunteers in the Philippines work in homes for children who have been orphaned or abandoned. Volunteers are needed to help as an extra pair of hands assisting the local staff.

The homes are located in Cebu City and some are affiliated with Catholic organizations. Some of the orphanages have schools on site, and appreciate help with teaching basic English lessons.

Projects Abroad also works with care centers in Cebu City that provide care and education to children from poor backgrounds or with disabilities or illnesses.

Whether you're helping children do their assignments, play sports, or teaching them a new game, the time and attention you give the children is invaluable. Any skills or talents you have are welcomed.

First day I confuseda little because everything was different from Japanese school.I couldn’t imagine what I should did. However students and teachers of manio were so kind to me.In Japan we are too shy to talk with those who are from abroad,so my precious time in manio was very fresh for me. Anyway thanks to many people I could enjoy my stay in Philippines. I will never forget it.

In the Philippines, many thousands of urban children grow up in poverty and are often deprived of basic healthcare and education.
