Program Overview

Ready for the ultimate outdoor adventure? Join Projects Abroad at the stunning Soysambu Conservancy in Kenya for a two-week adventure designed specifically for teens.

You’ll live in a dorm right on the savannah with other teens from around the world, waking up to views of the African plains.

Your main job is protecting the endangered Rothschild’s Giraffe - you’ll track their movements, set up night-vision camera traps to study animal behavior, and help maintain vital water holes so wildlife can survive the dry season. You’ll also get your hands dirty removing invasive plants that destroy the local habitat and helping with community projects, like building eco-stoves or teaching local kids about the environment.

When you're not working, you'll enjoy safaris to see lions and rhinos, hikes at the Menengai Crater, and even movie nights under the stars.

It’s the perfect way to gain experience, help local communities, and have the summer of a lifetime!

I had the best time ever

This summer I went to Kenya with projects abroad. I spent two weeks volunteering with giraffes and doing conservation work. My time was absolutely amazing and I met so many new friends. I had such a good time I am already planning my next volunteer trip to Peru with them next year.
