Program Overview

Mexico is a vibrant destination where ancient history meets modern energy, offering a truly unique setting for cultural immersion. Whether you’re on a gap year, a career break, or a summer adventure, our programs invite you to become part of a community that blends Spanish, Mesoamerican, and contemporary influences. Volunteer in Mexico with Projects Abroad and take part in work that serves the needs of the local community.

You’ll be based in the grand, historic city of Guadalajara or the coastal beauty of La Peñita de Jaltemba. Dive into the action by protecting endangered sea turtles on sun-drenched beaches, supporting early childhood development in community centers, or kickstarting your medical career by shadowing professionals in busy local hospitals. When you aren't making an impact, you can explore shimmering coastlines, wander past the magnificent Expiatorio Cathedral, or trek through cactus-strewn deserts.

With our dedicated local staff providing 24/7 support, you have the freedom to experience the best of Mexico’s traditions, arts, and landscapes with total confidence.

Educating

I’ve loved my time in La Paz, have learnt a lot about local marine life from Pablo and have learnt to dive thanks to Carey Dive Centre! I feel like this trip has put me in the right stepping stones for my future. I have loved living with the host Edgar he is so welcoming and it feels like we’ve had a proper Mexican experience. La Paz is great for shopping and restaurants so plenty to do in our free time.
