Program Highlights

Life in Mongolia is never dull. If you're after a different kind of adventure it's definitely the place to consider.

You will be living in one of the world's most remote countries. Once outside of the capital, you'll find that 'roads' marked on maps are not really roads and 'settlements' can be small and temporary.

If you have a taste for adventure, you will want to explore the remote Altai Mountains and the Gobi Desert.

Best to warn vegetarians about the diet support but besides that, the project was nice

The hospital was very well organised however on the wards there was nothing much to see or do, I would recommend opening up the surgical options a little more. Ambulance service was definitely the group's favourite activity and one I commend. Frankly, the trip guided by the instructors was lovely, the instructors were kind, patient and helpful, especially Noumi. The food was a difficult aspect to manage due to the low budget and options available. The hotel had a lot of sockets that did not work, or lamps, that had their wires taped up( fire hazard) . I had to boil hot water for tea standing on a chair with the kettle above my head, connected to a plug close to the ceiling. I'm sure it must've been quite funny however balancing hot water above your head isn't the best thing to do. In all, the people involved were lovely and i can do nothing but praise them for their patience, hard work and dedication but the material aspects of the journey were shakey. We grew a lot from working at the homeless community service and were sobered there, the afternoon at the children's community center was very enjoyable and we all were able to rest a little ( the food there, probably with korean origins was amazing) and once again, so were the people. In all it was a positive experience however we believe that the food and accommodation selection should be reviewed as well as the hospital curriculum. Thank you.

As an intern you will do a great deal of observational work alongside some of the most skilled and inspirational doctors in the country. The facilities are generally very basic and patients will often have traveled vast distances to attend appointments. You will be working in busy central hospitals or specialized clinics dealing with pediatrics, maternity or perhaps trauma patients. The doctors are eager for you to achieve as much as possible during your internship by working in a number of different departments. We also offer Physical Therapy projects if you are specifically interested in gaining international experience in this department.
