VFV endeavors to improve the quality of life of the community by providing responsive, efficient, and high-quality community service through our programs and projects that promote self-efficiency, well-being, and prosperity of individuals, families, and communities throughout the Visayas Region. VFV has initiated programs to address issues in social welfare, education, public health, and community development in rural areas surrounding Tacloban City. The design of our programs allows prospective participants of varied skills and professions to get involved with various projects. We require that all volunteers are flexible, self-motivated, open-minded, sensitive to other cultures, and desire to challenge themselves in an unfamiliar environment!

Experience the power of visual storytelling during this unique humanitarian photography program in a town just outside Cape Town—Stellenbosch, South Africa. As a photographer on this program, you'll learn how to document the work of local nonprofit organizations effectively, and you'll put that knowledge into practice during photographic assignments. You'll be tutored by a professional humanitarian photographer with extensive experience and a deep passion for nonprofit photography. Through personal guidance, you'll be sure to grow both in skill and confidence as a photographer. This workshop is a wonderful way to make an impact through your lens and experience South Africa in a unique way. During your stay in Stellenbosch, your accommodation, transport, and meals will be taken care of. You'll be based in a comfortable lodge in the city center, allowing you to easily explore some of the many highlights Stellenbosch and Cape Town have to offer. To qualify for this NGO photography program, you'll need to have basic camera skills and some photographic experience. The workshop runs several times a year, and you can join us for 2 to 4 weeks.

We need your help! Join Let’s Go Volunteer in the beautiful community of Ibagué, Colombia. We are a small organization, with almost everyone on our staff a volunteer. We count on these passionate individuals to continue supporting the less fortunate, as we can't afford to hire and pay many staff members. Despite few resources, we are already making a positive difference and we strive to continue doing so. Our Children's Program was created to provide educational, nutritional, and emotional support and leadership skills to young children from marginalized neighborhoods in Ibagué, Colombia. Most—if not all—come from homes with only one woman as a provider and do not have the time or resources to care for them adequately. Thus, we address this pressing issue by helping care for more than 80 local children at our two centers, impacting their lives significantly. Our Children's Program aims to find support from kind-hearted people worldwide who want to join this noble cause. Volunteers primarily listen to, care for, play with, and give love to underprivileged kids.

Girls are a powerful force for change in Africa, so investing in adolescent girls is essential to reducing poverty, improving health, and encouraging future economic growth. The Girl Impact initiative of African Impact aims to provide opportunities for adolescent girls in Zambia through education, health, safety, early pregnancy, making a living, and self-confidence. Still, the organization needs enthusiastic volunteers to make this a reality. Volunteers have the opportunity to work in maternal health with a focus on puberty. Volunteers will work within schools and be part of a program that sees direct, measurable results.

The children in this program require a lot of care, attention and most importantly, companionship. Volunteers spend their time caring for the children, helping with their education, playing games and arranging fun activities during leisure time. Attention and companionship is what the children on this program crave the most. For volunteers who truly want to make a difference in the lives of disadvantaged children, this program serves to protect and care for those who need it most. This project aims to take these children off the streets and provide them with quality care and education, saving them from a life of abuse and neglect. Volunteers supply much-needed labor to support at-risk kids with care, attention, education, and most importantly, love.

World Endeavors offers exciting programs that allow participants to experience Costa Rica while contributing meaningfully to the community. Volunteers can choose from various projects, including teaching, orphanage assistance, environmental conservation, wildlife conservation, and community development. World Endeavors volunteers live in Atenas, a small, relatively prosperous farming town in the central highlands of Costa Rica where coffee, sugarcane, and fruit are grown. Life here revolves around family and community, and the nightlife consists mostly of family gatherings, barbecues, and shared meals. Residents can often be found browsing the colorful farmer’s market for fresh produce, enjoying a cup of local coffee at a café, or strolling in the park in the city center. Atenas is renowned for its climate, which keeps the city warm in the daytime and cool at night. Public pools and hiking trails make Atenas an appealing destination for those who wish to spend time outdoors, and the town’s location, less than an hour from the capital of San José and the international airport, makes it easily accessible for arriving volunteers.

Help preserve the famous Big 5 safari reserve, seeing a side of Phinda that many tourists don’t get to experience. Become part of the main research team, helping to manage thriving populations of rhinos, elephants, lions, cheetahs, pangolins, and more. Observing these animals in their natural habitat, you will study their behavior and population dynamics and map their movements to build a database of territories. With the critical rhino population and growing cheetah population, you must source this information and share it with the qualified researchers, so the perfect balance of species can be maintained. Working alongside experts in the field, you will be involved with Phinda’s wildlife relocation program moving species such as lions and antelopes, the contraceptive program that works to balance the population of elephants and predators, and assisting in humane rhino horn trimming—an effective anti-poaching strategy. This constant research and monitoring is a balancing game, and you will be directly involved in all aspects, playing a meaningful role in the wildlife conservation efforts and learning about the ecology, biology, and behavior of Phinda’s wildlife.

Volunteers taking part in short-term volunteer projects in Germany will be responsible for teaching one-to-one conversational English courses to students at the Center, as well as instructing small groups (anywhere from 2 – 5 students). Students come from a plethora of backgrounds, with ages ranging anywhere from 12 – 70 years old. However, most students will be migrants or the children of migrants, hailing from various Arab countries. Volunteers will not only serve as teachers, but also as cultural diplomats who represent their home country to the community in Halle (Saale). They play an important role in helping with communal activities meant to increase cross-cultural exchanges. In addition to teaching, volunteers will enroll in German language courses (3 hours a week). The advent of additional language courses is meant to further immerse them in local Arabic/German culture, allowing them to better communicate with their students, as well as locals in Halle. The Volunteer to Teach English and Learn German language program spans anywhere from 1 – 12 weeks, with volunteers staying with local host families during their time in Halle (Saale).
