Nursing Volunteer Programs

Volunteering for nursing abroad might be one of the most rewarding opportunities you can undertake. You get to build skills, help diverse populations, work with colleagues who are equally dedicated to serving others, and build your professional portfolio. At the same time, you’ll be able to pursue incredible adventure, take advantage of some great benefits (including insurance and room and board!), and explore the opportunities for future paid work. If nursing is your chosen path, then nursing volunteer programs abroad are an exceptional place to start, refresh, or add to your career!

Yes! Volunteering abroad as a nurse, whether you’re a student or you already have a license, is a great opportunity to boost your career. It allows you to gain medical insights while making an impact on local communities.

Registered nurses can volunteer in Ukraine, with the government and several NGOs constantly looking for ways to help the army and civilians. Relevant experience and the ability to work in stressful environments are required for such roles.

The duties of a volunteer nurse vary based on previous experience, program location, and organization. Nursing students typically assist local doctors, while licensed nurses carry out more hands-on tasks (if permitted in the host country).

Nursing volunteers are needed globally. Thailand is an ideal destination for health education, while South Africa is popular for HIV/AIDS placements. Costa Rica and Peru are for volunteers interested in a Spanish-speaking healthcare setting.

Volunteering in women’s empowerment in Nepal through IVHQ has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. The women I had the chance to work with were incredibly kind, eager to learn, and full of heart. Their warmth and determination made my time there unforgettable. It’s an experience I’ll carry with me forever, and I’ll always be grateful for the opportunity to connect with such inspiring women. The IVHQ staff and the local team were both wonderful. They supported me fully at all times, not only with everything related to the project activities, but also with recommendations that helped make my stay in the city much more enjoyable and meaningful. I’m deeply grateful for their care, guidance, and constant support.
