Volunteer in a real clinical environment in Arusha, Tanzania, working directly with patients as part of a multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, and assistants. This is a hands-on medical placement where every day brings new challenges — you'll receive a group of patients who need your care and attention, choosing the area of medicine that best suits your skills and interests. Medi Trip leverages its deep healthcare expertise to match each volunteer with the most suitable placement for their background.
This program welcomes both student interns (minimum second year of a health-related degree) and qualified healthcare professionals (minimum 6 months of relevant work experience), including radiographers, dentists, pharmacists, phlebotomists, and more. Volunteers are needed to help address a critical shortage of clinical specialists across Africa by sharing knowledge, teaching new skills, and introducing advances in medical science at the ground level.
Placements run from 2 weeks up to 12 months with flexible start dates year-round. The program fee covers accommodation, placement coordination, airport pick-up and drop-off, and a free one-hour Swahili language class.
