I have loved my time abroad in Shanghai learning Mandarin. The school is a fun and welcoming environment where you are taught to effectively apply your language skills to everyday life. I feel very lucky to have had this opportunity and to have met some amazing people here.

My first impression of the Foundation was that it was full of joy and love. For the most part, I got on well with the other volunteers. I interacted lots with the children at the foundation. Particularly, there was one day when we managed to speak to some children individually after reading their files -- this was a very interesting experience, and I wish I could have done more of this to give the children a listening ear. I hope I impacted the children positively. I also sat in on counselling sessions at the Psychiatric Hospital and went to the local hospitals, as well as the traditional hospital. Perhaps more could have been done to inform me of what exactly I would be doing at the hospitals and at Becky's, so that I could prepare more. It is really so different from everything I have experienced before, and I hope to be able to be involved in improving these systems somehow in the future.

I completed clinic work, mural painting at the children's home, and leading a therapy session in the psychiatric hospital. Had 1:1 sessions as well with a few kids, and i would have loved more of that as well as group therapy time. I loved working with the children and bonding with the amazing team. It was a bit of a culture shock, especially experiencing cultural views around mental health. I got to do art therapy murals and counseling as well as psychoeducation - It helped me get my art therapy registration!

I studied Mandarin at Peking University for 4 months through GAC. I arrived knowing nothing – not even how to say hello properly. My homestay family was incredibly patient and made me feel like part of their family. My teacher was fantastic, making class both challenging and fun. By month three, I could order food, take taxis, and have real conversations with locals. The GAC team organized weekend trips to the Great Wall and Summer Palace. I came back to Sweden speaking more Chinese than friends who studied for years. Highly recommend.

at first I thought that online courses will be just reading long texts and watching instructional videos, but after having the TEFL courses on The TEFL Academy, my opinion about online learning changed a lot, it's a complete and satisfying experience.

Madagscar was incredible I had the best time, staff were so supportive both before and after departure! Highly recommend going with IVHQ for anyone who wants to travel abroad. They are fully supportive throughout the whole experience !

I started the TEFL course, with the possibility of achieving a personal goal. It has assisted me immensely and the content was great. I found the assignments challenging especially as I had not done one in many years. Especially the checks for AI and plagiarism was a good exercise in lowering the plagiarism scores. I have and would recommend the course to others. I look forward to furthering my future in the TEFL world.

My experience with the International TEFL Academy (ITA) was both rewarding and professionally enriching. As someone with a professional background in administrative operations, logistics, and international work environments, ITA helped me recognize how my real-world experience can be integrated into English instruction to support learners in meaningful and practical ways. Overall, I would absolutely recommend ITA to anyone interested in teaching English abroad, online, or in professional learning environments. The program provided a strong foundation, practical tools, and a supportive learning experience that helped build both confidence and instructional skills.
