International TEFL Academy

Although I have spent the past ten years teaching a variety of subjects in English to middle and high school ESL learners, I found myself learning something new every day throughout my course with The TEFL Academy. I came into the program with considerable classroom experience, but it helped me refine my teaching methods, strengthen my understanding of language pedagogy, and fill in gaps that always made me feel like an imposter. To use a slightly corny analogy, I was like a sponge that looked full but still had plenty of room to absorb new knowledge and skills. The course challenged me to think more intentionally about how I teach, not just what I teach. I have already accepted a teaching position in Central Asia and will be leaving in two weeks. Thanks to this course, I feel well prepared to step into my new classroom. While there will be cultural lessons to learn once I arrive, I know I have the foundation and strategies needed to succeed. I would gladly recommend The TEFL Academy to both new teachers and experienced educators looking to strengthen their practice.

I have done the part-time program and an additional course. I have enjoyed both and feel that the resources provided are very helpful. The instructors are great and give great feedback on assignments. I've also attended webinars when I want to learn more and here from others on their teaching experience. I like the Instagram takeover as well because it's great to see people share their experience in real time.

My experience with the International TEFL Academy (ITA) was both rewarding and professionally enriching. If you’re looking to dive into the digital classroom, the International 2-Week "Teaching English Online" Course is a fantastic choice. The asynchronous layout is perfect for a busy schedule, yet it feels surprisingly connected. I loved the flow of reading and replying to classmates’ discussions; it turned the text into a real conversation. The balance of independence and support is spot on. Having the opportunity to meet directly with the professor twice was a huge highlight, providing that personal guidance that’s often missing in online certs. Two specific assignments really stood out: creating my introduction video and the lesson enhancement task. These weren't just "busy work"—they were practical milestones that transformed my nerves into genuine professional pride. I’m walking away feeling completely confident and ready to land my first global student. I honestly can’t wait to keep this momentum going in my next tutoring course.

My experience with ITA could not have been better. The instructors are top-notch and experts in their field. There are many organizations offering TEFL certification, many of them are much lower in price than ITA. But, as with all things in life, you get what you pay for! I was very impressed with the credentials of the instructors and even more so with the personal attention I was given as a student. The class was well worth the price.

This was a good experience. I did not know what to expect. both instructors I had were very helpful in helping me understand the requirements. I did not feel llike there were any questions that I could not ask and made to feel inadequate.

I really enjoyed the Online Teaching Course, easy to navigate, the teacher was great. I would recommend TEFL If anyone is interested in doing this course, please consider using TEFL. These speciality courses are really great to have and they do help in terms of deciding which course is best suited.

I really enjoyed my experience with International TEFL Academy. All the instructors are kind, they will work with you and encourage you to persevere and complete the course. I felt supported and I knew that it was up to me to really sit with the information and stretch my understanding of teaching and creating. This course is obviously easier for anyone who has been a paid/professional tutor or educator but I do recommend this course for someone like me who has a sufficient education, has taken the understanding of how to learn and study serious [theory of mind, put yourself in the student's shoes], and has language learning experience. If you have never taught before? This course will be challenging but it will absolutely get you ready for being a well-rounded and skill EFL teacher. You will know what to do and have a community around you when you need support. Come in with the mindset that you won't know or remember everything but you will have it all to fall back on. Get the certification and recognize that showing up is 90% of the battle the rest is interest and experience. If you want to teach? You will. You will have all the skills and knowledge necessary to be worthy of your job.

All of my preconceived notions about this course were completely off base. Not only did I have two excellent teachers to guide me through the course, I had an amazing community of peers to join me through this journey. I feel as though this course gave me the resources, knowledge and confidence to succeed as a teacher, and to have a pathway to chase my dreams. The support system you find through ITA is incredible and gives you the reassurance you need to know you are not alone in this. I am very thankful I was apart of this course and would highly recommend to absolutely anyone looking for a way to change their mind, career and future.

I enjoyed my time with Nicole and Betsy to no end. Having this space to learn with like-minded people across the US and Canada was amazing. I feel confident that I can teach and assist in language learning classrooms even as a newbie! Having the practical experience of teaching a real student and see the learning occur made me satisfied and helped me know this was the right program for me!

There is a limit of what a couse like this can provide in only a few weeks. Considering how short it is, it does a great job in teaching all the very basic skills needed. Also, the job resources were very helpful and I did end up getting a contract in Japan, so my experience with ITA was very much a success.

My experience working with my ITA TEFL professor has been nothing short of exceptional. He provided thoughtful and constructive feedback that consistently challenged me to reflect on my work and grow as both a learner and a future teacher. His comments didn’t just help me improve my assignments—they shaped how I think about teaching and encouraged me to go beyond what I thought I was capable of. Wayne was always timely with feedback and grading, and his patience and dedication truly stood out. He also took the time to read our posts in peer participation discussions, ensuring that we stayed on track with the topic—it showed how much he genuinely cares about his students’ learning and progress. Above all, his passion for teaching was evident in every interaction, and I deeply appreciate the time and care he put into guiding my development throughout the course.

If you're serious about TEFL, I highly recommend this course. This instructor was great at being responsive and open for communication. The feedback I received from her drastically improved my abilities each week not only in this course, but in my everyday job as a music teacher as well. In regards to my lesson planning, she pin pointed my strengths and gave me suggestions to improve my weaknesses so I wouldn't go into improving my work blind. 

The quality of the course was not the issue. I applaud ITA for providing rigor so that those completing the course are prepared to teach. Connecting to a job was/is the issue. There is an assumption that only young adults are willing to travel abroad and teach. This assumption over simplifies the pool of candidates actually interested in working abroad or/and online.

It is harder for me to get a job in the USA due to my cerebral palsy and education being expensive. Therefore, being a halfway decent native speaker of English, I decided to travel the world and teach English. Now, I’m living in the old Roman capital of Spain—Mérida. Every morning I leave my apartment, I have an old Roman aqueduct greeting me at the door—you can’t beat that?

I really enjoyed this course and found it was very informative. You really learn the basic practical skills actually needed to become a professional. There are definitely some ups and downs and you will always be nervous and make mistake when you start teaching abroad "for real," but this course really provides the foundation you need to succeed.

ITA was the right choice for me because I wanted to gain skills that would open doors and help me make a difference for others. I thought I would really enjoy teaching, I had just graduated from college with a degree in English Literature and had a high GPA, so I thought I could be successful. I had previous experience in high school as a teacher’s assistant at a synagogue. Another main factor is that I wanted to help multicultural students. My family is an immigrant family as all of my grandparents came from Europe to the USA. They had a lot of struggles. Teaching English was a way for me to give back to others who may be facing similar struggles and challenges.

I liked how many positive reviews there were! I liked that the team was very communicative, my advisor was excellent. I liked that there was set curriculum, homework, and a practicum. Made the training seem very legit. I also loved the Day in the Life videos on Instagram that show what life can be like once you complete the certification course. The course instructor was extremely engaged and gave very helpful feedback. This is why it is worth it to pay more for ITA than some other courses out there.

This course has given me the opportunity to travel to Rome (my happy place) to connect with the Kappa school and start my career teaching English as a foreign language. I have absolutely no teaching experience, but I can now confidently go and grow in what I have learnt from this course. I am a registered nurse and I have family here in Australia - I have the support of my family to go and do something totally different. Yes I am nervous of trying something new, but this course teaches us how to navigate though and the support from the instructors and the admin has been exceptional. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to do something new!

In addition to the TEFL course - which I loved - ITA has connections with my current school, so they were able to recommend it as a school I could go to without a BA degree. I've had a fantastic experience and I have ITA to thank for that.

The quality of the course and ITA's services is well worth the higher price point. To get the most out of your class and your investment, budget your time, and get started on the practicum close to the end of the class, but before it is completely over, to allow yourself more time.

Overall, I had a great experience taking this course. I learned a wide range of new strategies that I am confident will be extremely helpful in my future teaching. Beyond the practical techniques, the course also gave me valuable insights into understanding students’ needs, adapting lessons to different learning styles, and incorporating cultural awareness into the classroom. I feel better prepared to create engaging, effective lessons and to build stronger connections with my students. 

This is a great course, and if you're on the fence, I would definitely say, just do it! The only wish I have is that there would be a way to have a little bit more of a system that helps students find an option for practicum easily. 

I have really appreciated the support and guidance of the ITA team and my instructor throughout this course. The feedback I received on assignments was thoughtful and clear, and it helped me better understand not only what to improve, but also what I was doing well. I especially valued the way the comments tied directly back to the course content and expectations, because it made the feedback both actionable and connected to what we were learning. I also found my instructor approachable and encouraging. Communication was professional but warm, and I felt comfortable reaching out with questions. The timeliness of responses and the detail in grading feedback were both very helpful in keeping me on track. One suggestion I would offer is to provide even more examples or models of strong assignments early in the course. I found myself understanding the expectations best once I saw concrete examples alongside the rubrics. Having a wider variety of sample lesson plans or written tasks would make it easier for students to visualize how to apply the frameworks we are learning. Overall, I am very grateful for the support and guidance I received. My instructor made the course a positive learning experience and played a big role in my growth as a future teacher.

I was looking for a TEFL program that would take care of me. All I did was call and send emails and all I received was amazing communication. They always got back to me within a day or two, my questions were fully answered with resources to help, not to mention all of my worries were heard and supported. Their communication is top-notch! This also applies to the course itself where I I found the feedback from my instructor to be very helpful.

I liked that it was accredited, that there was a network of help for graduates to use, and that that help had no expiration date. I like to know that I can rely on ITA if and when I decide to teach overseas.

The course was solid but I think some areas could be improved in terms of helping students get set up with a practicum, and I was a bit lost in terms of getting started on my job search. I did learn a lot from the course. The instructor was great, very engaging and I could tell she really cared about the students and the course. She always provided helpful feedback on all assignments.

I was very satisified with my ITA TEFL course. I appreicated how detailed constructive feedback was as well as the participation in the discussion forums. I'm not sure if I have any suggestions for improvement as I was satisified with the course and my instructor.

Professor Noble was incredibly kind and understanding. I was able to reach out to her on many occasions to ask for extensions due to technical and personal issues - which she was very helpful in assisting me through. I would tell future TEFL students that it is really paramount to read the materials ahead of time, because on occasion it can be helpful to read the materials a couple times to truly grasp the concepts - leaving the reading to the last minute can make completing the assignments a bit more difficult. Now that the course is complete, I would like more information about receiving the certification and getting real world hours for teaching English as a Foreign Language. 

As a total beginner, ITA was an ideal choise. I wanted to be as qualified as quickly as possible within my means to teach English as a second language. I had never taught English or been around kids therefore any preparation I could get was of utmost importance for me. I wantched an IG story takeover from alumni that incpired me to purchase the course and gave transparent information about salary, expectations, day in the life from somebody who was actually doing it in real time. In additio, the website and the brochure were also very informative and helpful.

I chose ITA because first I wanted an accredited academy. With so many online courses out there it was hard to find a company that I was confident was real. I wanted a company the my employers coukd trust and research. A company I would feel safe giving my information and trusting with my future. Then, I liked how much information ITA was able to provide about the job market comparison in each country. The courses offered a few options that worked for my schedule and lastly the lifelong job assistance was icing on the cake

I had a very positive experience with ITA overall, and I felt well-prepared going into my TEFL certification. That said, one area that could be improved is the pre-enrollment content: for example, sharing clear statistics on job markets, average salaries, and demand by region would help future students make more informed choices about where they might want to teach. In addition, offering short demo videos or mini-lessons that preview how ITA prepares teachers to manage classrooms and design lessons could give prospective students a stronger sense of the program’s practical value before enrolling. These additions would build on the strengths I experienced and make the process even more transparent and engaging.

In general I thought the content was good, and I felt well prepared, or at least as well prepared as you can be after doing a short, non-degree program. Since my course, I have been teaching in Spain with the NALCAP program, and have also done private tutoring and teaching online. I have also taught in some local private academies.

Marika was truly a wonderful teacher. She's always so encouraging. There was one lesson that I really struggled with and didn't even know how to begin. During her office hourse, she walked me through the entire lesson, not giving me the answers, but helping me understand each step.

The ITA team provided the guidance I needed to begin my English teaching career. The class challenges you to think and learn. When struggling to grasp certain concepts pertaining to graded assignments, the instructor did a good job of explaining structural and content issues with my submitted assignments and gave detailed feedback.

I have finished my third course with ITA TEFL and has not been disappointing. This whole experience was new to me, taking courses online and not having access directly to an instructor during class. I love the way the reading assignments are broken down by chapter, a little bit at a time, and before you know it you have finished reading the chapter. The instructors are knowledge and want their students to succeed. I would recommend ITA TEFL to my family and friends

I felt like this program had everything I needed to be prepared to teach English in a foreign country. The instructor was great.  Very nice and welcoming and informative. If you're looking to get into the TEFL field, I highly recommend International TEFL Academy, even if you are a total beginner.

Considering I had no background as a teacher, this International TEFL Academy Online TEFL Course helped gain the confidence I needed to start my TEFL career. I recommend getting the textbook as it has been a very helpful resource since I began teaching abroad. Also, the course instructor was knowledgeable and offered thorough feedback on assignments.

The most significant factors that influenced my decision to enroll with International TEFL Academy were: • Reviews and experiences from former students: Hearing the outcomes and genuine experiences of others gave me confidence that the training was effective, credible, and well-supported. • Internationally recognized certification: It mattered to me that the credential would be accepted and respected worldwide, as I wanted the flexibility to work in different countries or online without limitations. • Value for the price: I wanted a program that delivered strong training, real teaching tools, and guidance for career placemen without being overpriced. I felt the investment aligned with the quality delivered. • Instructor qualifications and expertise: Knowing that the trainers had solid academic backgrounds and real classroom experience was essential. It helps ensure that the course isn’t only theoretical but grounded in practical teaching strategies. Also, the job placement assistance was also a major factor for me. It showed me that the training didn’t stop at the certificate.

I enjoyed the class and learned a lot - more than I expected! The teacher was highly engaged and gave good feedback and created a welcoming environment. But because of the asynchronous nature of the class, it is up to not just the teacher but the student also in fostering a sense of a real classroom environment. This is something that I didn't really do. I treated it like an asynchronous class and so I felt pretty removed from the teacher. That is not her fault. But I have no complaints about the class. 

When I made my inquiry, my advisor Andrew contacted me right away to schedule a call. Other organizations took much longer, even weeks, to respond. I was impressed by his professionalism, and by the rigor and comprehensiveness of the program. My course instructor was very good giving feedback on every assignment I submitted, helping me understand the concepts I did not understand.

This class was perfect including the length of course, convenience of online setup, and inclusion of practicum. It's definitely more expensive than other courses, but it provides more comprehensive training and services than others and for me, it was totally worth it!

The ITA Online TEFL Course was fabulous! The material was very helpful and the instructor was on top of everything and super organized. She provided timely and thorough feedback. I also found the rest of the staff and advisors to also be very professional and knowledgable. This was not always the case at some other programs that I reached out to.

Originally, there was a Chicago location and I live in Illinois! Otherwise, ITA had the best reviews and the best price. People seemed to think the course was challenging, but also fair and effectivel. I also needed asynchronous and remote classes because I worked a full time office job. Even though the class is online, it is very engaging and comprehensive. Overall, a great option for kicking off your TEFL career.

The most significant factors which brought me to TEFL were that I was able to earn the credential on-line with other students who were living all over the world. I wanted the tools and skills to teach English language learners on-line from wherever I am, and the skills to take with me while traveling. Originally, a trip to southern Italy gave me idea that I can teach English to the local merchants,(and family,)so they may speak to tourist customers, and sell more goods. I also have seen while traveling internationally, young adults, who with English speaking skills could be empowered to have more choices and opportunity in their lives. My passion drove me to Teaching English as a Foreign Language, and the Academy offers the most thorough classes at a reasonable price.

My instructor was incredible, and the course was very rigorous. Of course, there is always more to learn, but as teacher new to teaching English comparatively, I feel very well-prepared to teach English abroad in genera and I'm excited to move forward with my TEFL careerl.

Expensive, but it was good course and I got a lot out of it. The instructors and course content were excellent. My one request would be to make the book free for students who paid hefty amount to purchase this course. 

Good course. My advice is to be really be intentional in setting aside the time needed to carefully complete each required component of the course. Also, it is helpful to stay ahead of the reading by a couple of days to give yourself time to complete the homework assignment.

I already knew I wanted to teach in South Korea, so in addition to completing my certification, I found the Alumni corner resources very helpful in finding teaching jobs. Also, the staff was very responsive whenever I had questions or needed assistance when it came to applying.

The whole process was smooth. I'm really happy that my Admissions Advisor was kind and helpful. She was a pleasure to interact with and always insightful about any questions I had in the begining the course. Super awesome person! Also, I had a great instructor. Very knowledgeable and provided great feedback.

My experience withITA and my teacher, Ms. Quinn was great. I learned a lot from the feedback that was given, and I value the personal advice she provided, throughout the course. I learned new methods that enhances the learning experience for students. Great course, I would recommend others to join! 

I think the course itself is fine, but I personally need more grammar training and the course is not long enough to be able to cover that in enough detail to become proficient. I would definitely like to shout out my instructor, Sandy, who was very organized and helpful. I felt that she provided constructive criticism that helped me better my lesson planning and she was very nice. 

The course-work was top-botch and II definitely used the resume/cover letter review and found it super helpful. I also used the contract review and ended up turning down a few job offers in Korea before accepting my current one. VERY helpful resource!

This course was very enlightening and did a great job at holding my interest. I loved the amount of lesson planning we had to do as I now feel very prepared to be able to do so in real life. Kelli was great and I would recommend her for anyone wanting to take this course.

Overall, the course and instruction were good, but given the asynchronous nature of the course, I did not have many interactions with my insructor , but I did not feel that was an issue with the instructor, and I had all my needs met.

When I was in college, I saved up all of my money to travel during the summers. The first summer I did this, I met a girl who had just finished TEFLing in Spain. She told me all about it, and from then on I KNEW I wanted to get my TEFL certification. I love travelling, experiencing new cultures, and I love working with people - so all in all it sounded like the perfect decision. 8 years later, I still remember the girl I met, her stores of tefling, and held on to my dream. And now I have my International TEFL Academy certification & am teaching abroad in Vietnam

My ITA instructor, Andy Halvorsen, has been extremely helpful throughout the course! He offered the perfect balance of constructive and positive feedback, helping me understand where I needed to improve while keeping me encouraged and motivated. I especially appreciated his sensitivity to different student personalities during the live lecture I attended. As someone who tends to be quieter than my peers, I felt supported. He encouraged participation but never pressured me to speak more than I was comfortable with. At the same time, he was equally accommodating to more communicative classmates. His thoughtful balance allowed us to learn at our own pace while keeping the lectures focused and productive. He also facilitated the discussion forums in a way that was interactive and collaborative, fostering a strong sense of community. Overall, he created a very positive and supportive learning experience for me, and I’m grateful to have been part of his class!

I wanted to move out of the U.S. and was interested in pursuing a career where I don’t need to know the language of the country fluently in order to find a job. I didn’t know what country I wanted to move to yet. I liked ITA because I was able to complete the modules on my own time. When I was enrolled, I was working full time at a law firm so this flexibility was extremely important to me. I also liked that part of the course included the practicum at the end, so by the time I was finished, I could say to potential employers that I had experience. The most helpful part was the phone call itself. My admissions advisor was very friendly, and I had a lot of questions and she was either able to answer them all or direct me to where I could find the answers.

Overall, the course content was thorough, well-structured, and practical. It covered a wide range of essential topics for EFL teaching, from grammar instruction to integrating technology in the classroom. I appreciated how each chapter built on the previous one and encouraged hands-on application through lesson planning and analysis.The inclusion of real-life teaching strategies and the focus on the PPP method were especially helpful in preparing me to teach in a variety of classroom settings. I also found the sections on cultural sensitivity and learner differences to be very valuable and relevant.One small suggestion would be to update or replace a few of the videos and links that were no longer accessible. Additionally, incorporating more interactive elements or example materials—like student sample work, optional quizzes, or mini peer activities—might help reinforce the concepts more deeply.In general, I feel confident moving forward thanks to the content and structure of this course. It gave me both the knowledge and the tools to step into an EFL teaching role with more clarity and confidence.

Overall the course was fine, but I feel some of the assignments were tasky and just busy work that didn't really help me to become a good TEFL teacher. The Peer collaboration tasks were largely nothing that helped me.  I felt some of the live videos of a teacher teaching were most helpful and wished there were more of those in the course. 

Honestly!!! I loved this course and the instructor provided the video links for the meetings for those of us who could not attend. So, I really did appreciate that. I feel that the feedbacks from our grades helped me a lot when working on my next lesson plans. Thank you for the support!!

The teacher (Emily) was very helpful in explaining tasks to us, as well as specific things to look out for. This helped me greatly in responding to written assignments due weekly, and also with understanding some content and topics that weren't clear at first.

The course was excellent and definitely more rigorous than I expected. I was attracted to the course's in-depth curriculum,and also the credibility of the certification. With work it was perfect that it was on-line and A-synchronous. With the job placement found it to be worth the cost.

I had already been a teaching assistant in Spain for one year, and I wanted a course that would help me polish my teaching skills while I was already abroad. So I didn't want to waste my time with a cheapo course where I wouldn't learn anything. That's why it was totally worth it to pay a premium for ITA. I wanted something fully accredited, fully online, and practical. I think the process was fairly easy. I was a bit overwhelmed at first by the fact that it was mandatory to have a phone call, but in the end my Advisor was helpful and not overly sales-y.

My International TEFL Academy TEFL course was good but there is much to learn beyond the curriculum of that course. I found the specialty courses were helpful, though some were better than others. I think the practicum is especially useful as you will learn as much from just starting to teach as you will from the academic parts of the class.

I really appreciate the understanding for my situation and the advice, support, and overall kindness I have received from all ITA staff. WHen I was looking for a program there was not a lot of job support information on your website, but I see that that has changed. I think basic career counseling advice and support is essential because that's the end goal in having the certiciation.

Taking the TEFL course with International TEFL Academy is one of the best decisions I've made in my education. The course was challenging but gave me the foundation I needed to make the transition to teaching abroad in several Asial countries. One tip: the book is incredibly thorough and practical. It was a very helpful resource. I'm glad I purchased a copy of the textbook.

Overall, we had a great instructor! I really enjoyed reading their comments on my assignments and found the detailed feedback very helpful. Practicum guidance could be earlier in the course. I recommend getting on top of it early in your course.

Very stressful that I could not get fast answers as instructor does not work weekends and took up to 48 hours to respond. That meant I had to try to work a week ahead so I could ask any questions no later than Wednesday in time to get an answer before due dates. Not ideal. Her feedback was helpful and detailed but accessibility needs improvement. Also the peer remark questions were mostly a waste of time and a poor substitute for interaction. Group live classes could have helped foster getting to know our classmates. I feel like I had very mimimal contact or knowledge of any of them. Finally,the written assignments were much too complex and challenging and took vastly longer than sold to me. This course is a 30-35 hour a week commitment, not 10-20 hours.

Legitimacy and strong accreditation were greatly important because these are the factors that give a TEFL certification its efficacy in the first place; if a program is sketchy or if it lacks respect and accreditation in its field, then the certificate holds little value and may not be very usable around the world. Professionalism and high quality were important to me because these reflect the value of the program's certification, its weight in the EFL field, and the benefits I would receive from it (such as alumni support). Upon starting this program, I have not disappointed in the slightest!

My instructor was perfectly nice and offered useful feedback on assignments, but he didn't do much to foster a sense of community. He almost never chimed in on the mandated "peer discussion" threads or even on the original icebreaker thread in the Student to Student forum that he posted at the start of the course. We were mandated to post in the instructor forum and to reply to at least one other post every other week, but that kind of forced interaction didn't do anything to create a sense of community and nothing ever felt like a real discussion; we'd all post one or two responses but no real DISCUSSIONS ever arose from this. He didn't host many live lectures throughout the course, either. I think the course would have benefitted enormously from higher instructor engagement--for example, encouraging us to share our different lesson plan ideas with each other in the student forum, or chiming in with comments or questions on the Instructor Forum threads in order to stimulate a stronger level of genuine engagement. I also think the original ice breaker question should have been mandatory and more could have been done with the Get-to-know-you questions--rather than making them optional surveys that we never engaged with, why not ask us to elaborate on our answers a little more in the student forum so we could really get to know each other? Maybe this is too much extra work to expect of students in an online course, but I know I would have appreciated getting to know the other people in the course, networking, and sharing our hopes and fears about entering the world of TEFL. 

When I looking to get a TEFL for teaching English in Japan, I needed something flexible as I was working full-time. I also wanted a program with positive reviews, as well as job search guidance. While I ended up not taking advantage of the supplementary classes, knowing I had the options was a nice perk.

I did some research and discovered that ITA had a great reputation and the course was exactly what I wanted within the right time frame.It was a bit overwhelming at the beginning of the course, with so much information, getting into the rhythm of the course, learning the expectations for assignments, etc. But I learned a lot, the teacher was excellent, and all of the resources, videos, etc really helped me get teaching job offers and a job in Mexico that was my goal in the first place.

I truly enjoyed this course and the instructor was great! I am excited for what is to come once completing my certification. The key is to do your due diligence to make sure you have clear understanding of how the course will work and what the expectations are. it's more challenge and time-consuming that you might expect. So get in touch wtih your advisor and your teacher with any questions.

When I enrolled with International TEFL Academy the most significant factors that influenced my decision was the accessibility that it gave me. I was allowed to finish the assignments on my time within the due date. I was also allowed to do it wherever I was. I didn’t have to be in a specific location. Also, the fact that the company is nationally & internationally recognized was a very influential factor for me. I felt that I was getting quality information for what I paid for the program and more opportunities than with other TEFL companies.

Online learning is difficult. Having live zoom calls with the class would have helped tremendously (for me anyway.) As a business woman, for basically my whole adult life, I learned the importance of in-person meetings with clients. Even though most could be handled online via the web even before covid and zoom took off, it made a huge difference to meet the clients in person to discuss their needs. In todays world of too much screen time I believe our culture is falling short "in the real world".I understand everything cost money, but perhaps students who are in close range to each other could do a "meet up" to just talk about the TEFL course. I for one was struggling with the English grammar and jargon needed to understand the lessons! Its been a long time since I thought about articles, or adverbs or for heavens sake modals of advice.... I almost gave up. I am an artist and designer and was beginning to think this course to teach English as a second language was meant for people with degrees in English. I am still wondering if this is a good fit for me. BUT, I realize that my creative brain could do wonders with helping teach English as a second language. That, and all of the online resources and AI out there, I think I could rock this opportunity to teach English.And yeah, spend the money on re-platforming this moodle platform, or hire a UX/UI designer and TEST it on real people!Thank you!

I chose to enroll in the ITA course for two reasons. First, I felt it was strongly recognized and accredited. This gave me added security that most foreign schools and institutions would accept my certificate. It also made me feel confident that I would be getting my moneys worth. Second, there were a variety of courses within the academy that might fulfill my needs as I further developed my own path within the TEFL workspace, whether it be online, in the business sector, or something new. If I decided to change my path I knew where to look back to for more advice.

I was very satisfied overall with my instructor and the rest of the ITA staff. Feedback was always provided promptly, and he offered individualized feedback that was very helpful to my learning. I also found videos and live lectures to be helpful. Get the textbook too as a resource that will come in handy down the line.

After completing the course, I ended up appying to a program in Spain that supported me well in the process of getting starting as an English assistant here in Madrid. I was already a teacher before I took the course so some material was redundant.

My initial enrollment was for the hybrid program to Madrid, but due to unclear communication about the visa process and its cost, I switched to the online cert program. My goal was, and still is, to relocate to Europe and do so via ESL employment and language study, that is a study visa. ITA seemed reputable and connected with established organizations abroad.

My course was very insightful and smooth. I only needed to reach out to the professor a few times, but each time I did she responded in a timely manner and answered my questions thoroughly. Her feedback on my assignments was always very positive, while also including tips on how to improve or things to think about. As someone who usually dreads looking at instructor feedback, I did not feel this way when looking at Emily's feedback each week.

I don't have any constructive feedback. This course was quite smooth for me. It provided me with the skills and qualification I needed to get several teaching jobs online and abroad. To be successful, you need to take the initiative and use all of the resources at your disposal both from International TEFL Academy and elsewhere like reddit, job boards, etc.

I wanted to experience more of the world, and I have a passion for education. Taking this course allowed me to explore my passion, while having the security of my consulting job. It also enabled me to learn valuable skills for when I decided to make the career swap. It's important to me because I grew up in a city that is historically underfunded and under-resourced. Education can be the ticket to success, and TEFL also enabled me to travel with a job and give me more job security.

I wanted to travel to South America for an extended period of time and I wanted a marketable job that I could do there while traveling. Many of the countries in South America are eager to hire English teachers so I figured the TEFL certificate would be the easiest course of action and International TEFL Academy was the right choice! I liked when the ITA alums would “take over” the Instagram account and document their lives abroad. It was enlightening and made living abroad feel more attainable and less daunting.

If you're looking for a pushover course just to get a certificate, this course is not for you. You should expect to dedicate at least 12 hours a week and the course is college level. The instructors are highly engage and supportive. Mine was very kind and willing to talk through questions I had.

To be perfectly honest, there were two main factors: the cost and the accessibility. International TEFL Academy offered courses that were more affordable at the time compared to other companies and organizations. That was the biggest factor. But also: there were options on the length of the course you wanted to take (e.g. how many weeks you wanted to spend on it, whether you wanted to complete it part-time or full-time) and also that it was all done online. During the course, I had many questions for my instructor, and often missed what she had written for me as part of my review.  She was patient and excellent in response and help.

I choise ITA because I was looking for a program to that provides: 1. TEFL certification that is honored abroad as well as in the U.S. 2. Accreditation 3. Program structure that provides access to instructors for office hours and lectures. The courses offered, ITA instructors and staff were enormously helpful and GREAT facilitators.

My experience with ITA has been extremely positive and enriching. The courses were thoughtfully structured, combining theoretical knowledge with practical strategies that are immediately applicable in the classroom. I appreciated the clarity and organization of the lessons, as well as the extensive resources provided, which have been invaluable as a reference during and after the course. It was the highest rated and most trustworthy option it seemed. After speaking with an Academic Advisor, I was sold. I paid for my course right then and there. I joined a Job Placement Program through ITA and TravelBud, so I didn't look into any of the free resources offered to alumni. I am now teaching in Costa Rica!

My course instructor made the assignments easy to understand and complete. The few assignments I had where my submissions were not to the required level they gave clear feedback and ways to improve my work. I also found the practicum to be extremely valuable. Nothing replaces live experience when it comes to teaching and interacting with actual English language students.

I appreciate my instructor's empathy and professionalism. I enjoyed all the chapters, though I would have appreciated a few sections on lesson preparation in different contexts. I would advise them to start right away thinking about how to apply the course knowledge in practice, in order to reduce the sense of detachment often associated with online learning.

I found ITA enticing because of it's reputation and course load. I have heard of alot of different TEFL certificates that weren't as recognized as ITA which is why I decided to go this route. I also like how user friendly and modern the program is. Most importantly, it helped me achieve my goal of teaching in Spain.

Getting certified with ITA enabled me to teach abroad in Thailand and South Korea (so far). The online class was a great fit with my working schedule and the Alumni Corner was very helpful. I used the country profiles to really get an idea of how much it cost to move there, what was needed for visas and such! It was very helpful!

Especially for older students, it would be helpful to learn more about countries that can support both health issues and retirement goals. I know that the country chart shows where a teacher can save money, but how realistic is it to retire comfortably from TEFL income?

The course content was very in-depth and made basic concepts easy to understand for beginning teachers like myself. Andy was a great teacher to work with and always responded in a timely manner to my emails when I had questions. My one suggestions is that clearer timelines and a better breakdown from the start would've helped a lot, especially for people signing up for the first time. I just felt a bit lost sometimes without that structure.

The most significant factor that had me enroll with the International TEFL Academy was the lifetime job support provided after receiving my certificate. This was important to me because I was making a career change and it was nice to have support and reassurance.

I selected ITA because I liked the way the website was easy to navigate. The reviews I read were very positive and I also really liked having an advisor to speak with in the early stages. Kenneth answered many questions and having been an international Enhlish teacher he assured me that my dream was absolutely achievable even at the age of 56. And I'm living that dream right now.

No complaints. I was well prepared by this course for my teaching job in Thailand and later in Colombia. Kelli was a good instructor. I have nothing to compare her performance with other instructors. She got the job done in this fast pace course.

Johnny was the epitome of an educator. He was patient, in control and has a wealth of experience. There was an assignment or two I had to resubmit he clearly conveyed my mistakes and pointed me in the right direction to the objective.

Even though the instructor really knew her stuff, I didn't feel like I learned as much in this course as I could. I found some videos and other course content to be somewhat outdated. Also, I found the practicum arrangements a bit confusing at first.

Everything about this course was perfect - especially the instructor. For an 11-week online course, you really learn a lot and it focuses on practical skiil to prepare you for actual teaching. I also enjoyed the peer interaction and the practicum, which provide more interaction and hands-on practice teaching experience than you might expect from an online course. The course is well designed and I learned a lot of new concepts. My instructor’s feedback was always helpful. My advice to future TEFL students is to stay organized and pace yourself, especially if you're balancing the course with other responsibilities. The factors that sold me on enrolling with ITA was the cost and the fact I could do online classes. The other factors included how alums praised them and how they offer extra programs like teaching adults or young students. The instruction was excellent in terms providing practical skills for the classroom. I liked the fact that there are videos of current and past teachers showing potential teachers what to expect and more. I think one thing that could have helped more was if I had better guidance for how much I will potentially spend for getting certified and placed .

Overall I felt like my instructor did a very good job, she was attentive, gave plenty of feedback, and lesson plans and activities were concisely laid out. I think some more direction and clarity for the practicum would be helpful for many students. I know that some of my classmates had some frustrations, but it all seemed to work out eventually.

If you're looking for the real deal in terms of being professionally prepared to be a professional teacher, this course really did the job and is worth the value. Professor Gaffney is very knowledgeable and clearly dedicated to helping students become confident and effective EFL teachers. The course content feels practical and relevant, and the assignments do a great job of connecting theory to real classroom situations. I really appreciated the respectful tone and the focus on culturally responsive teaching throughout the course. With just a couple of small adjustments, like providing clearer examples and a few more hands-on or demo opportunities, the course could be even stronger, especially for part-time students balancing work and school.

My sister also did the ITA program and recommended it to me. She also helped me have a job lined up in South Korea so I didn't need ITA job resources. However, I do like knowing that I can access it at any point in the future if I decide to teach abroad again. Otherwise everything was top notch.

I had trouble initially contacting my instructor, which needed me to get through to student advisor to finally get into contact.Perhaps a suggestion that would be helpful is to have a dedicated communications tab in the course for more direct contact? Also, I found some of the content to be bland and some of the videos seemed outdated.

The ITA Online TEFL Course was a joy. My teacher Mr. Beshara is an absolute saint of a teacher. If I pulled this off, it's because he has more patience than my own mother when it comes to my shenanigans. If I have anything imperfect to say about this course, it is 100% aimed at the technology's limitations, and not the instructor. Cheers.

My instructor was quite good, the nature of an online course made it a little harder to have as much interaction with peers and my instructor as I would have liked, however when I spoke with Andy during his live lectures he gave me lots of useful advice. He is very experienced, friendly, down to earth with high but realistic expectations for his students.

It was very accessible at the time, I was studying and it allowed me to complete my college degree simultaneously. The most significant factors in enrolling in ITA was the idea of moving to France and teaching there and immersing myself in the culture. This was important to me so I can be closer to my partner and this would help me learn French on a deeper level. I believe the way everything is structured is perfect and very little change is needed. I would love more support for those looking to move abroad to France.

I wanted to be able to travel and teach effectively around Asia. The course was excellent, though I I would have liked to cover more grammar than what we did. The back end of the book wasn’t covered in class. I now teach English in the JET Programme in Hiroshima, Japan.

The ITA course was just about right in terms of cost and convenience. These factors were important to me because I had a low income at the time and needed credentials in a relatively short period. After the course I was able to successfully gain employment teaching English in Taiwan. Once I started teaching I do I wish there was more in the course about classroom management! This ITA online class was a great course - better than I expected. When I enrolled, the most important factors in my decision were the ability to travel and expand my knowledge and skillset professionally and personally. Travelling is something I'm incredibly passionate about, because it allows me to meet more people and interact with people of multiple cultures. I have noticed that I grow as a person when I am afforded this opportunity. It allows me to exit my comfort zone and push myself to challenge my own perception. Additionally, I would like to continue my growth as an educator. I am very passionate about education and love to problem solve and play a part in students' learning. The course was excellent all-around and perfect for a first-time teacher. Though it's always challenging to enter a new field, you will actually feel prepared to teach for real after taking the class. Lauren was a wonderful instructor. She provided helpful feedback on the assignments in a timely manner and offered many tips and resources. 

She was alright.  My intructor gave great feedback and did so in a timely manner but I feel she failed to create a sense of community in our classroom.  It felt like there were not many efforts from her to get to know us as individuals and mostly focused on the course work which isnt a bad thing, she just didnt stand out to me. 

My experience with the course was very positive. The class instructor was knowledgeable, supportive, and consistent throughout the course. Her feedback was always clear, relevant, and encouraging, which really helped me improve my understanding and performance.She returned assignments in a timely manner and provided detailed comments that showed she had thoroughly reviewed my work. I especially appreciated how she pointed out both strengths and areas to build on in a constructive way. It helped me feel more confident while also staying aware of what I could continue to work on. A highly successful ESL teaching training program was my most significant factor for enrolling with International TEFL Academy, along with a supportive staff that could answer my concerns regarding housing, visa and work permit matters.

The course was excellent, and the staff was extremely helpful. It was a bit of a surprise to me the length of my contract. Also a lot of the links on the websites and in some of the guides didn’t lead anywhere when I enrolled. Had I known I’d be in my contract in Japan for a year minimum I may have picked a different country. But I’m happy with my choice still.

For getting my job in Spain, the 1 on 1 sessions and the job search guidance manual helped me the most. To enhance the sessions i would probably do video calls instead of voice calls so it can feel more "real" for lack of a better word. I think the manual was really good maybe a way to improve it is to add a paragraph from an alumni who moved there to teach english, or links to blog posts.

I chose ITA based on a good recommendation from alumni. I was impressed by the job search advisors and placement services, teachers and advisors with knowledge of the industry. I wanted to make sure I wasn't being scammed and that I would have support in my new career.

When doing online research ITA seemed to be one of the most well recovered and respected TEFL certification institutions. It was important that my partner and I have as many opportunities available to us as possible. We also needed a flexible and online option. What made the decision easy was the US military discount and the referral bonus for us both to take advantage of.

I enjoyed how interactive the courses were, how the feedback we got was clear and detailed, and how everything was structured to guide us smoothly throughout the courses. I learned practical skills and even though I was nervous about it, the practice teaching made a huge difference. I am now tutoring English online.

I find it helpful to engage directly with other alumni to understand the perspective of someone who is living in the situation I'm pursuing. When I arrived in Spain, I found a job posting on an ITA Alumni board that turned into a freelance position for me for 3 months.

ITA was the right choise for me in terms of providing a strong introduction and basic skill set for TEFL. I was a neophyte at that time with regard to learning how to teach English as a second/foreign language and chose ITA simply because I found its website credible. It covers adapting to how different students learn, which seems key. I like doing things right, so ending the course feeling ready instead of lost, that mattered. The support there drew me in as well. Learning online can get lonely sometimes. But they have instructors you can reach, feedback that is structured, and even help after you finish. It makes things feel less cold, more like people are involved. Flexibility was another reason. I have other things going on, responsibilities. The program fits around that without dropping quality. It keeps you on track but not stressed out all the time. In the end, it matched what I value, quality and growth over time.

I chose International TEFL Academy because it felt welcoming and straightforward from the very start. The program was accessible, the staff was consistently kind and helpful in their follow-ups, and the information online was clear enough that I never felt lost or unsure. It all gave me the sense that ITA wasn’t just trying to enroll people, they genuinely wanted us to succeed. What really sealed the experience for me, though, happened afterward. Observing ESL classrooms made me fall completely in love with the setting. There was something special about watching students piece together a new language, and seeing the patience, creativity, and heart that teachers brought into the room. Talking with my peers also opened my eyes to how many different reasons draw people to this field… Some inspired by an unforgettable teacher from childhood, others driven by a desire to help someone else feel a little more at home in the world through language. Now I work as a reading intervention tutor with young children, and I use so many of the techniques I first learned through ITA. It’s been meaningful to see the skills I gained actually make a difference in real classrooms. Looking back, enrolling with ITA was more than a practical step, it was the beginning of finding a path that truly fits me.

The program focused on online teaching as well as in-person teaching. It also focused on teaching internationally. Rather than giving a basic ESL class, such as some programs, it provided all the materials needed to teach ESL or EFL, to teach in my home country or abroad, online or in-person. This means I have opportunity in multiple areas of the field and that was important to me. Also, I liked the enrollment process. My advisor was very helpful and hands-on, which made the process much smoother.

The course gave me confidence, useful strategies, and skills that I continue in my daily teaching situations. I liked that there is a big alumni community which offers the chance to make connections and learn about opportunities about different places. I also liked that it is part time and online, because I was able to complete the course while working with no issues.

This was such a great class and Lauren was a lovely instructor! For the job search process, I think there is good information that Student Affairs has, but it's a lot of info. I know they ask for you to look at all the resources first before calling, but sometimes I need someone to talk me through the resources. I think next steps I need more information about is how to find and apply to schools to teach at.

For the most part, the course was excellent.However, I feel the Peer Participations and Peer Collaborations were, more often than not, too easy.Several times I saw people's responses be either careless in their following of the prompt, or they used the prompt to spring to the topic of race and politics. Again, I am not the teacher, and I don't know how these things are graded, but seeing weak adherence to the prompt was annoying to see as someone who tried to follow the prompts as closely as possible each week.When one student uses three or more different prompts to continuously write about race and politics, it makes one wonder how much that person will bring their emotional, personal beliefs into their teachings, and in places that simply do not care about such matters. Not the biggest deal, but that was one thing that irked me during the class.

My original plan was to teach the new immigrants coming to the USA and wanted a program that was accredited, had good recommendations as well as affordable. I was also very interested in the with the practicum and assistance with job placement. Looking back, I think the job assistance could have been somewhat more robust.

One of the most significant factors for myself was the location of my in-person TEFL course in Florence. Not only did I want to make sure that the school itself (Florence) was in a location both accessible and easy to find on a daily basis, but located in a city that I could find myself able to live in comfortably for the duration of the course. An added bonus factor was the friendliness and active communication from those at the course location (Stephanie, course director) and the ITA staff in general. This really helped ensure that I made the right decision, and that I was going to be taken care of while living abroad and earning my certification.

Pleasant, helpful, inclusive, recommended. I wanted to get into education but my degree program didn’t come with a practicum. In order to gain experience, I got invested in taking a TEFL course. My background as an Italian speaker also drew me to the opportunities a course like ITA had to offer

I guess my only feed back would be that the professor was nice giving feedback and explaining but when I emailed her once about a confusion I had regarding the written assignments being due on sunday, she was a little dry through email and sounded annoyed. when she gave me feedback on the platform she seemed nicer. I guess I would prefer friendlier responses especially when it was my first time communicating directly. Aside from that, no complaints. everything was smooth and simple. I would like if the book already came included with the course as well as lifetime access to the book/ discussions. 90 day access is very limiting and refreshers online would be nice and very helpful to have.

I think I learned so much in this course and truly think it has set me up well to begin my journey as an EFL teacher. Emily was a great instructor who led the course well. I felt confident in my ability to do the work assigned, knowing I’d receive effective feedback if needed. I would take this course again for sure.  They key is to stay up on your assignments and stay organized.

The student visa options to help get back to Spain was important for why I enrolled with ITA. I had been saving for years to return. I wasn't sure how I was going to return. Then I saw options for the student visa with the TEFL courses offered by ITA and then I signed up. My one suggestion is that a payment plan for the visa program to break payments up would make it easier for a lot of people who want to join these programs.

International TEFL Academy offers a good price for good quality trainingand prestige. I knew the company was reputable, and the price was good for the education I got out of it. While there are a few things I would change or upgrade, overall I'm happy with my selection.

My daughter had already taken the course, moved to Korea, and started teaching! I was looking for a ‘retirement’ career choice… and I love teaching! I found the course to be well run and very informative. Also, the instructor feedback was well delivered and very helpful. The course has taught me a lot and I appreciate Mr. walker. 

I have had some very serious family issues while studying the course - my daughter has a chronic health condition and was hospitalised for several weeks, which meant that I needed to contact my instructor to discuss this. I found her to be extremely supportive and she put in reasonable adjustments to support me to be able to complete the course, whilst relieving me of some of the pressure I felt.  She was kind and understanding, but also very solution-focused.  I am very grateful for all of her support and I would highly recommend the course to anyone! I have found the course to be very informative and interesting.  Also, I particularly liked watching the videos, as they helped to underpin the reading.

My advisor, Kenneth, was very helpful. He answered all the questions I had based on his own personal experience. I didn't feel he was trying to get me to sign up to get a quota or something. I really felt that he had my best interests in mind. I also liked that he made a follow up appointment with me to allow me to think about our conversation. This low pressure support was one of the keys in helping me make the decision to enroll.

Excellent Course! My primary recommendation to improve it: any way to make attending live lectures easier for students would be greatly appreciated!  I attempted to participate in many more webinars than originally planned but frequently encountered connectivity issues.  I also noticed how many webinars were recorded, however am unsure where those recordings can be accessed.  For future cohorts it would be great to designate a well-marked webinar library in the dashboard so that any missed lectures can be watched on one's own time as needed.

Before I enrolled in this course, I had been an online teacher for a very long time but with no prior certification, so I decided to take the course and to become the professional that I have always wanted to be. I enrolled 1 year ago, and the reasons I chose ITA were because of the following: 1. It was the best school at the time and had been the best running four times in a row; therefore, that boosted my confidence. 2. The alumni team always responded to me and made sure that I got all the necessary information without any pressure or persuasion. They explained everything I needed to know, and for me, it was easy to carry through. 3. The payment of the fees was installmental, and I could pay in three installments, which I could easily meet with my finances, provided the fact that I did not have the complete tuition fees. 4. The fact that I could study at my convenience was also an integral part in making me choose ITA. 5. Everybody wants to become a professional tutor/teacher someday. ITA gives me lifetime job search guidance, and that made me choose ITA, which I still have. Someday, I want to travel abroad and work as a professional tutor.

It’s just very expensive but otherwise I’m content with what I got both with training and job guidance. I was hired to teach in an Eikawa [private language school ] in Japan. My employer was very happy with the video I submitted and the resume. I crafted these things based on the suggestions and feedback of ITA professionals and got several offers.

Honestly, I have no complaints about the course or the instructor. I appreciated the weekly emails he sent with tips about how to complete the upcoming assignments. While I haven't watched them yet, I also appreciated that he sent recordings of the extra lectures he conducted. I have saved the emails, so I can watch them when I have time. As someone who is currently going to college full-time and is in my senior year, I'd say ITA instrutor ranks up there with my favorites.

My TEFL training at International TEFL Academy was top rate from the content to the instructor to the practicum, which gave me the chance to work in a live teaching environment. Also, I took the intensive grammar course prior to the certification course as my English grammar was basic at best. It was extremely helpful.

Be prepared to set many hours aside in order to take it all in rather than rushing through the material. Also, take advantage of your professor. My instructor was very knowledgeable and thorough. In areas where I misunderstood the assignment she was very clear in helping me understand. Her weekly live meetings/ videos were helpful also.

Alyssa has been an amazing TEFL educator for ITA! Very kind throughout and actually reads and gives positive feedback on assignments. She responded to all my questions pretty quickly and was helpful during this learning process. 

I appreciated the depth of the course and the instructor was very helpful. I chose ITA after seeing the reviews about it and that they were positive. Also, knowing that I could always contact the career center no matter how long its been after I have took a course, had a huge impact on deciding to enroll with ITA.

I loved this course. I'm grateful I took it. I understand the point of discussion boards is for community because we are all online. Nevertheless, I saw the discussion as another assignment, something I had to do by a deadline. I wasn't participating with others because I wanted to, but because I had to. This is by no means the instructor's or ITA's fault. I think as online learning progresses, if instructors want authentic student interaction, there needs to be a better method.

I knew ITA was right for me as I had a friend that had completed his TEFL certification with ITA and had a lot of positive things to say about it. I also valued the admissions person who reached out and talked to me.The course met my expectation and it felt great to receive instructions during the course that are to the point and help shore up any faults in what we are learning.

ITA is very well known, and with the teaching English abroad career option being pretty much over saturated at this point, I wanted to stand out. I wanted to really feel prepared when I step into the classroom, and I knew going with a very reputable company for my certification would be important. I also loved that ITA offers continuous support even when finished, as well as all the groups for different countries. Plus all of the other continuing education classes. ITA surpassed my expectations and I’m very grateful and happy that I picked ITA. Everyone I have spoken with has been amazing, empathetic, and knowledgeable.

ITA is established and its courses offer the higher end of hours. This has allowed me to confidently apply for many esl opportunities even as a new teacher. My instructor was great! very helpful and always responded very quickly with anything I needed! would happily take another course of his again!

So far, everything about my experience with ITA and my online TEFL course has been exactly what I hoped for and was promised. My advisor was extremely helpful and my online TEFL course was excellent. I honestly didn't have any critiques of the course. I didn't actually need it for my position with the JET Programme, but I felt better knowing I had put in the work and done some sort of formal education preparing myself for a teaching position.

I signed up with International TEFL Academy wanted to update my ESL skills and certification. I also wanted to experience Costa Rica because I planned to move there. The instructor was very sweet and supportive throughout the entire course. Also, the advisors were accessible and helpful.

I chose ITA because of its credibility both as an organization and also academically it could provide me with credible training. I checked with colleagues and had my supervisor look at the curriculum. I also read online reviews of past students. The main thing that influenced me was that there was a real instructor and a practicum. Also the staff was very supportive and timely in their responses.

First of all, I really appreciated the customer support when I had a few doubts before enrolling in the course. They were always very friendly and notably helpful. It definitely set the apart for other course providers and installed a positive mood before the beginning of the course. Secondly, the assignments were very on point, i.e. they reflected the lesson content well and were significant for the teacher training context. Additionally, the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired therethrough is very much transferable to different contexts and the course has a wide applicability. Finally, the weekly feedback from the teacher was always constructive and fair. It was definitely a motivational factor.

I had a great experience, learned a lot and feel prepared to begin teaching and practicing. On suggestion: What about starting an Alumni Support Group-- where people could meet to talk? ITA could host it online via Zoom call, have topics and breakout rooms and people could talk about topics like enhancing interview skills, writing a good CV, ITA could talk about the extra classes offered and why they are important, etc.

I was really attracted to ITA's Job Advising and Assistance - Having support and resources on how to enter the ESL job market as a new teacher was important to me Practicum required - I read that having this with the TEFL course gives teachers some experience or learning in how to teach English to students being applied

I first noticed ITA because of how professional it seemed compared to other schools. Then I searched on the internet for opinions of past students to see what they thought of their experience with ITA. It was important for me to get my TEFL certification with a serious and qualified institution so I could get the most out of the curriculum. Finally, I would say the fact that ITA required a practicum was also a major incentive for me because I believe that gaining experience and applying the knowledge we just acquired is crucial to a better teaching practice.

I am older than most people who are looking for work. I retired to Portugal and want to teach part time. It's hard to find work. I was hoping that ITA would have been able to provide guidance on this front.

When I enrolled, the most important factors in my decision were the ability to travel and expand my knowledge and skillset professionally and personally. Travelling is something I'm incredibly passionate about, because it allows me to meet more people and interact with people of multiple cultures. I have noticed that I grow as a person when I am afforded this opportunity. It allows me to exit my comfort zone and push myself to challenge my own perception. Additionally, I would like to continue my growth as an educator. I am very passionate about education and love to problem solve and play a part in students' learning. I have been impressed and satisfied with all aspects of my ITA experience so far. The course was highly engaging, challenging and rigorous compared to what I expected. The instructor was very responsive and encourage, and provided helpful criticism and feedback. The staff has also been very professional

I already have a teaching degree so some info is just common sense to me. For others on my course that had no experience it was great. I didn't need job support as I already teach in Sri Lanka. I think ITA should offer support for finding jobs here as there is a lot of demand.

I had no problem completing this course at all. My instructor was really helpful and made sure my assignments were perfect and up to standards while telling me exactly where I needed corrections. It was so helpful to have this communication, not to mention refreshing.

The most helpful part of my interaction with ITA was with my Admissions Advisor and the clear and personalized guidance they provided throughout the enrollment process. They took the time to explain each step in detail, answered my questions promptly, and offered realistic insights into job markets and teaching opportunities abroad. My recommended Latin America for my situation, an older person who wanted to teach adults. I took the class in Peru and now I have a job there whenever I return. It worked out perfectly for a semi-retired nomad who loves teaching and traveling.

I really liked my instructor. She is so impressively productive and professional and clear. I loved her emails every week that gave us tips about how to be successful at the writing task and I loved her use of visual memes! I watched all of her lectures and she was excellent in her delivery of information.  I think it was very helpful to have the templates given to us. Something as simple as generating a template for students helps students get going on the task and not spend extra time setting up/formatting a page. I like how the course content went from easy to harder and hardest and then back down to easier. This is the right flow for an online course where it takes self-motivation and self-direction to complete. The lesson plan writing was very involved at times, but as it should be when you are learning a new lesson plan structure that is different from what we know as native English-speakers. 

I was reassured by the personal touch at ITA and it was very helpful to be able to actually talk to people rather than communicating just through emails or something like a chatbot. I instructor also provided personalized feedback and was always helpful with my questions. I was introduced to International TEFL Academy by an independent person who was promoting the program and recruited me for it. It appealed my interest as something I could use to establish my career, since I was just finishing university. The cherry on top was that the person who recruited me provided me with the textbook for free.

Course text was great. I just wish I could do this course in person. I was pretty surprised at how in depth the instructor's responses were about my writing. Emily brought a very helpful approach to all of our weekly peer participation assignments. I would have loved to do this class in person with her. She was very patience when I made a mistake on the submission which I also appreciated. Overall I can't think of any criticism to offer. I am very happy with the course. 

My instructor Andy, is a caring and supportive teacher. He was always helpful and responsive to any questions I had, consistently providing constructive feedback. He even granted me extensions on assignments when needed, which I truly appreciated. Overall, Andy has been an understanding, encouraging, and motivating instructor.

I really enjoyed this course and learned a lot from it. I think the modules were laid out in ways that made sense, the assignments were valuable, the overall course was just as rigorous as it needed to be. I liked all of the collaboration and participation activities, which allowed us to keep many lesson ideas and activities. 

I was just telling my friend about how I made the decision to do my TEFL certification through ITA because of how caring, invested, responsive, and knowledgeable the staff is! I had a call with Joe before I made the final decision to enroll and he answered all of my questions and I had a following career placement phone call with another advisor helping me and answering questions for me when I was applying to teaching positions in Spain. I currently work as a flight attendant after working at a high school in Madrid for a year, and I feel excited and supported with the knowledge that I have ITA’s staff available and happy to assist me when I decide to dive back into the extremely fulfilling career and lifestyle of teaching English as a foreign language. Very informative course, that I will use as a foundation going forward into the future and my TEFL career. My instructor was very supportive and always gave back constructive feedback. I appreciate her honesty and that she also participated in our weekly peer forums with some encouragement for us all. I really appreciated her weekly emails of what the exceptions were going to be in the next chapter. 

I was looking for a TEFL course with a good reputation that was fully online during COVID. I had already been living in Spain as an English teacher for a year, but I wanted to improve my skills to teach private lessons and give classes in academies. ITA stood out to me because of the positive testimonials. The course was everything I was looking for. I have no complaints.

Jasmine was a great instructor. Her feedback was always thorough, detailed and clear. She is a very supportive and encouraging presence. Even though I didn't enjoy the course, Jasmine made it bearable.

The course was very solid and the instructor was attentive, knowledgeable, and provided actionable constructive feedback on my assignments. I just felt like I didn't quite get the guidance I needed to get started with my job search, especially at first.

Despite a higher price tag than other TEFL providers, I wanted to pay for quality. I believed that if I moved halfway across the world, it would be worth paying for a provider with a good reputation. Once I started the course, I enjoyed how active my instructor was in giving advice and responding to emails. Most of the time, before each written assignment, we were provided in-depth advice on top of assignment instructors. That was really helpful and most of the time answered any lingering questions I had about assignments!

The ability to do it in my own time with no pressure or set date. This was key to me as I had a full time job that I was working. The instructor was excellent and the course was a legit unlike some options out there.

Jasmine was an engaging instructor who really kept the momentum up during the course. Her Feedback was always constructive and she always made sure your succeeded while also encouraging the strength of our individual voices and background.

I wish the course had started with a live introduction session so we could better understand how to navigate the platform and submit assignments. Some initial guidance would have been very helpful. I was a bit disappointed that this wasn’t offered, as it made the beginning of the course slightly confusing.

I had a positive experience with the people I spoke with at ITA and may have also gotten a slight discount during a promo for the course, but I can't remember. I do think ITA could do more when it comes to sharing stories from slightly older people who have transitioned to teaching abroad.

Several TEFL teachers I know recommended this course and that made me curious. I was looking for a flexible online option while working part-time and taking care of my kids over the summer. I also thought the price point was very reasonable and was intrigued by the continued support in job searches after completing the program.

I was really impressed with the assistance with all aspects of TEFL job searching and accessibility to instructors and staff. Everyone at International TEFL Academy went above and beyond my expectations!

The class and my instructor has been great! She provided feedback on each and every assignment. I am learning about topics that I haven't even really considered before I started the class. I have enjoyed the duration of this class fully.

Most of my interactions with my teacher were via email due to timing and outside commitments - but he was exceptionally responsive and helpful! The detailed feedback on the written responses and lesson plans also helped to further my learning.

My partner and I used the International TEFL Academy Alumni corner to help narrow our job search but once we decided on Taiwan, we used more local institutions to facilitate specific job search actions. The alumni networks were also helpful.

ITA was very helpful in all facets of my TEFL journey that has taken my to Taiwan. This includes my TEFL certification course and then I had a little help with my resume and cover letter. It was nice to know I had a safety net there and someone to help when I needed it.

The most influential factors, on my decision to enroll in ITA, were the online course option, its good reputation, and post-course completion resources. I had just graduated from college and wanted to move to Korea to teach. I was looking specifically at the EPIK program, which requires a TEFL certification. Because, I was working as a substitute teacher at the time, I needed an online course that I could do on my own time. When I researched TEFL certification programs, ITA consistently was mentioned at the top of many lists. On top of that, my friend, who had joined the EPIK program a year prior, recommended it. I was also drawn in by the help I could still receive from ITA after completing the course.

Everything was great with my International TEFL Academy TEFL course. It's more pricey than some other options, but it's definitely worth it because the course quality is top quality and the resources and guidance have been everything I need to get hired to teach English in the coming year.

When I enrolled with ITA, one of the factors that influenced my decision was the ease with which I could sign up, receive support for what I wanted to complete, and do the entire program online, at my own time! As a full time student, this was essential for me because I was trying to balance 2 programs at once! I have not yet starting interviews for teaching jobs, but I will be in touch as soon as I am ready.

I really enjoyed the class. It was definitely more challenging and vigorous than I initially anticipated, which was great because I learned a ton more than I expected. I definitely recommend that you stay on top of your tasks and make a schedule because otherwise you can fall behind. Overall I would recommend this course and I feel prepared to teach English abroad!

I was looking for good qualifications and job hunting support after completing the course. My admissions advisor was great and willing to speak to me over email and on the phone which was very helpful

My experience with ITA was excellent all-around. Well credited and recognized by many international schools. Very good resources available for the course and for job searching afterwards. I like that we would have lifetime access to ITA’s resources.

ITA's good reputation and live instruction drew me to it. It was a lot more expensive than many other programs, but it also was better. I liked that there were deadlines and a schedule. Self-paced programs would not have met my needs as much. The most helpful part was the quick responsiveness of the advisor and ITA in general. Any and all questions were answered within a day and often more quickly than that. I like the instagram takeovers where I can see what an actual persons routine is like while living abroad and teaching.

I would recommend this 11-week asynchronous course because of the structure and effectiveness it brings to the table. I felt that I will be walking away from this course with a solid foundation to teach English abroad which is something not many can say when it comes from accelerated online courses.

I was drawn by the credibility and global acceptance of the certification. As I was moving to Germany post retirement at the time, I was hopeful that thos would offer the opportunity to contribute to english learning and earn extra cash at the same time.

The two main factors that appealed to me when choosing ITA were the ability for the course to be completed online, and the frequency of the programs. At the time I was completing my course I was not in a position to physically attend any lessons, having the option to complete my certificate online was important. The frequency of the programs also helped, as I had unforeseen health issues crop up during my first time enrolling which made it difficult to complete the course. Because the courses are offered every month I was able to enroll again when my health was better and fulfill the course to completion.

ITA seemed to offer the best balance between quality, price and time spent to complete the course. Furthermore, the certificate by ITA is acceptable to many schools in Asia to become an English teacher (if you have a Bachelor already).

The course was outstanding in every way. I recommend to future students that you be sure to decidate enough time each week because it is more demanding that you might think. Also, I liked that there is a big alumni community, because it allowed me to make connections and learn about opportunities abroad. I wanted to have access to that information from real people who were confirmed to take the same course I had. I also liked that it is a part time online course, because I was able to work at the same time with no problems.

I ENJOYYYYYYYYYYYED EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. The teachers for theory and practicum were phenomenal, helpful, funny, insightful, tough, gentle, nurturing and more. I enjoyed my peers so diverse in background, ethnicity, why they joined, and where they were going. We banded together to get through. The textbook and assignment weren't perfect and some challengiing but it was what you needed to be crafted in something great. This past few weeks have been one of the best months of my life, i have learned many new things to help my teaching career and how i will teach the students I have whether its online or in person, also learned about different cultures and how it may affect you and how you teach your students based on their culture and theirs.

Going into the grammar course, I was skeptical and initially hesitant about taking it online because I know it’s a broad category. It felt overwhelming but after the first week I felt more confident about it as it is an excellent course for improving English skills. The structure, content, and instruction has definitely been helpful. The peer participation aspect also broadened my knowledge and understanding of other views and aspects of learning. This is a good course for anyone who has been confused or overwhelmed with learning grammatical skills.

The Business English specialty course was very short. I think making this course longer would be more beneficial for students. I liked how we were able to do one lesson plan though which was practical.

My TEFL experience over the past four weeks was challenging, exciting, and incredibly rewarding. I grew as an educator, gaining practical teaching strategies and understanding the importance of culturally responsive teaching. Working with students from diverse backgrounds allowed me to apply inclusive techniques tailored to different learning styles, while also developing patience, empathy, and confidence. The supportive instructors and classmates created a welcoming environment that made even difficult moments meaningful. This journey not only strengthened my skills as a teacher but also deepened my appreciation for the power of language to connect people across cultures.

My four-week intensive course at the International TEFL Academy was advantageous! The course was fast-paced, but it prepared you for the classroom. The fast-paced schedule meant we were constantly learning, and our engaging teachers made complex grammar and methodology accessible and fun. They modeled effective teaching techniques that we could use immediately, and they created a dynamic learning environment. I valued the real-world teaching practice most of all, and the relevant textbook used was a good resource. We appreciated the extensive practice in writing lesson plans and creating teaching slides, which built my confidence immensely. A challenging but fantastic experience! I am feeling prepared and excited to start my teaching adventure abroad!

I think some of the lessons are very complicated and that there should be more tim extensions to complete them, especially since I work full-time and have other obligations that make make it difficult for me to complete all readings and lessons in a timely manner. I also have too much noisy distractions at home. I think there should be more Zoom video calls and interactive media that should educate prospective students more about what is expected of them in the assignment for each week, especially the more challenging chapter lessons. As students, we should be given a sample chapter lesson and it should be explained and elaborated on what is expected of us as students studying TEFL. The course is very costly and pricey. Also some of the lessons are very complex and are very demanding. The course work should be made to be much mor easier to understand and less complicated, especially for those who do not have any prior teaching experience. I think that one of the assignments were graded unfairly and I received a very poor grade despite my hard work. I feel burned out from both my job and the TEFL chapter assignments and very frustrated to have received a failing grade, which wastes my hard work and forces me to cram more assignments into my week and day just to have to redo an assignment I already worked my hardest on. I feel that the course is gradually discouraging me from wanting to teach English abroad and that I feel that I am just wasting my time and money due to the unfair grading system. I am gradually growing to resent and dislike the lengthy chapter assignments and coursework.

It's an excellent course so far. It would be helpful to have situational practices to improve my feeling of readiness to carry what I'm learning here to teaching in my own classroom. Having an introductory information session or class. The website requires everything to be emailed, and a lot of searching to find specific information to answer one's questions. The course instructor is positive, efficient, and effective.

I wouldn't improve it, I had all the info I needed really. Needs a bit of a re-fresh and more modern look and feel. Happy with my instructor I feel like she is giving me the support I need to succeed in this course I just wish it was better laid out and more easy to navigate. It's not intuitive to me.

It doesn't really feel like a class at all, just self study. I would ensure admissions sales people get their facts correct and prioritize accuracy in their statements. Since it's related to the previous question, I chose the program because of what the advisor said on the phone, but I didn't select the option because some key info was wrong. The new main reason with that in mind is really just the size of the program's network. Can't stress the earlier point on accuracy enough. I also did find it a little strange that, when texting a question after paying admission, instead of getting a response, I quickly received a generic email professionally telling me to ask someone else, but the communication methodology itself was unprofessional since I had reached out through an entirely different channel that was ignored entirely. I wouldn't get another text except to spam me with some offer, which I never would have signed up for since I can't trust buying anything else that comes from this company at this point anyway, because I'll have no idea if it will resemble what was presented. It's pretty accurate, I would make it a little more clear that this is really just a self-study. I think the website could be organized better to make information easier to find, but I realize I may be nitpicking here as a former developer. She seems nice. I rated everything 5 because most of the questions don't pertain to anything the instructor actually does, but the way the course is set up, I'm not even sure why they're being evaluated like that and I don't want to rate her 1s for something that's not part of her job anyway. I had to rate the feedback section a little lower since the only time it's mattered so far, it was unclear and confusing, and clarification was delayed indefinitely, though she did make sure to respond to the initial email quickly to tell me that. 17 & 18 are 1s because nobody really responds. I think we all know it's just busy work, just hit the minimum and bounce. I don't blame anyone, especially since there's no notice or notification of correspondence. It would really be nice if you respected our time and got rid of it. It would be great if the class took notes from itself on student-centered learning, in particular. The biggest improvement it could have right now is a notification system when people reply to comments if the peer participation is actually intended to foster dialogue and not just artificially inflate the course for busy work. Deadline notifications could be nice as well. Having the option to tie notifications into email, since I doubt many people check in daily once their work is complete, would be helpful too.

I wanted more explanation on the classes from my advisor but I decided to register anyways for the course. The resources provided before registering provided me with valuable information. I decided to register after speaking with the advisor and after reading the links which was information good for me to know. The add on courses made it a bit confusing for me if I had to add them but I figure out that the 11 week course was what I could start with only. I just want my instructor to match my hours to her office hours, however I do know I can contact her outside of office hours. I think the course sequence of topics is helpful to understand. I have not use noodle but I will try it. I access the version on the website.

Access to webinars about additional topics. It was perfect. It wasn’t very transparent the way they sold based on job search assistance and then when you reach out you get a long email of about 20 things you need to do on your own before they will meet with you. I haven’t used the website much for research. She is great! Course content is bulky and especially written assignments require multiple places to get the information to do the assignment. I’m kind of surprised that for an educational institution it’s not better. Three descriptions of the exercise, videos to claify (since it isn't clear to begin with). It could be greatly improved. None!

I feel like communication with all info presented has been good along with my instructor communication is great. I didn't contact an admissions advisor, I just signed up for the course from the info online. My instructor has been very helpful and interactive/communicative with any info I've needed or questions I've had. The course content has been good, the way the course is set up is not as user friendly or takes awhile to get used to where everything is. Its been good so far!

I think a virtual meetup would help facilitate community within the course. A phone call I would love to have a phone call to help establish a relationship Give a time line of when to start looking into job I think a virtual meetup is needed amongst classmates.

I think the course platform could be a little easier to navigate. None There should be a more organized place to access all the resources for the course none None I am not a fan of moodle, its confusing and I work in ux/ui design and have had so many issues with the organization of it

My expectations for the course have been met. Brochures were very helpful and informative. s. Better way to emphasise due dates and expectations. Great professor. s. Submitting an assignment is a little confusing; there are about 3 filters to confirm the submission, and the first time, I accidentally didn't completely submit due to these filters.

Through emails and calls are very effective. I suggest communication can also be done through WhatsApp for faster response. Nothing much to describe because the website is self explanatory and clearly made the main point stand out. Timely response and very clear to my understanding. but i must commend that the course is really worth it and very effective.

The course is very different to what I thought it was going to be . At to this point is more of learning history ,analyzing and evaluating than actually learning how to teach the subject. I am a teacher already, so I have some of this knowledge already. I would list the instructor email on the syllabus. He talk to me about the process, but not really about what I would be learning in the course. It is confusing.

I appreciated the prompt responses from Becca and that was really the deal breaker in choosing TEFL over another institution. As a novice teacher, I am not seeing any support from TEFL itself - it all about referring you to a third party website. There is no mentoring opportunities, no practice of teaching opportunities for non-teachers. I look forward to receiving the weekly constructive feedback from my instructor.

A virtual open house would have been helpful I do not have any questions or comments at the moment. I had trouble finding the dates of the live lectures. Maybe that could be posted more clearly, possibly when you sign in. I greatly appreciate my instructors feedback, they have been helpful in shaping the type of instructor I would want to be after completing this course. Everything went smoothly during my admissions process! The only information I didn't know was whether the courses would be live or recorded in advance, so maybe having that on the website would be helpful! I really like the comments I have been receiving so far! I know that there are a lot of resources, but I just don't know where to start when looking at them on the website. Like with grammar! I am very familiar with moodle so nothing has been difficult regarding the platform!

The course should be via Skype or something to feel more personal. Also the expectation of job search help feels over hyped at this point as I have not received as much help as I thought I would and am worry if this course will be worth it. I had no issues with registration and have been receiving consistent and clear support throughout the course. Providing an estimated time frame of how long each week's course work will be. Each week varies in hours needed based on reading and writing work. It would support with planning and balancing the course work. Course instructor has been great with feedback and encouragement. The written response sections usually have many components that I have to triple check to ensure I haven't missed anything before submission. No issues navigating.

So far, so good. I had a moment of panic during the first week. My instructor talked me through. I have no desire to teach abroad. But I believe that ultimately, one must learn the material as best they can, do the research about foreign destinations, then prepare themselves for the adventure. She knows what she's doing. I trust her. I know nothing about teaching. The course is helping me to build confidence and making me solve problems I've never had to consider. I can't say I've paid any attention to it. So far I've navigating the course ok.

The expectations have been to a tee from what was set forth from the beginning. I would change the way in which they contact you as it seems a bit repetitive and spam-like. s at this time. Looking forward to the job search. Possibly better interface and make it easier to find the information needed. The peer participation feels more forced and like an extra assignment. I feel as though there could be better way to engage the students in conversation with one another even if its through text-based medians. s here Moodle is a bit difficult to install and get going.

The initial phone call with an actual person was very nice and helpful. I will be reaching out for job search guidance eventually, up to this point things have been good. I am not entirely sure on how to answer this question as I have not started to teach english abroad yet at this point in time. The instructor has been very fast to provide feedback so that has been nice. Live lectures are hard for me to coordinate too, but the videos and emails with video links are nice and helpful. Some links have been difficult to use. I had issues with getting the textbook initially that led me to sending emails to get assistance.

An explanation of job roles or an easier forum to retrieve this information, especially once the course is complete, would be highly beneficial. Having clear access to job descriptions, expectations and career pathways She was quick to respond and inquire on the payment schedule I needed versus what we prescheduled. Attentive Clearer insight to what it looks like from course completion to actually choosing an assignment Haven't needed to reach out yet. Instructions have been clear and addressed upfront. Leaving the lecture section isn't as seamless as the other sections. It has you go back the main screen and then make your selections again vs being able to choose a different section within the chapter.

My expectations have been met. I think it could be improved by having more connections to direct staff, other than just one assigned advisor. Possibly more alumni information as well. My course registration process was smooth and efficient. More specific info on what coursework actually looks like such as a sample would be helpful to include. I have a great instructor and great group of peers. Jasmine is so supportive and helpful. I unfortunately work during all the live lectures. It would be more convenient for those who workday jobs taking the course to have the option of a live class later in the day. Moodle has a rough learning curve. I was very confused in the first week. However, now that I have used it more it is a lot easier to manage.

Nothing, I liked having the webinars for information and questions, the call with the advisor and all the links and emails that were sent regularly helped me get registered for the course that was right for me. My advisor kept in touch via emails and kept me aprised of discounts offered until such a time I was ready to register. Allow earlier access to the syllabus and links to books so that someone like me can read ahead and feel prepared. Wayne gives great feedback on assignments. I appreciate that. I am liking the course so far and the content being taught. It harder and more time consuming than I expected. Its mostly user friendly. Sometimes links are buried inside other links and until you are familiar with this it can be hard to recall how to get back to a place after a few clicks.

My expectations have been met; I didn't know how intense certain chapters could be, but this is the equivalent of a college course, so it shouldn't be that surprising. The pre-registration is fine because you get a lot of information, though it can be overwhelming at times, but I can't think of anything to improve at this moment. It was a bit confusing to access/log in to my course/Moodle after registering for class and paying. It then became much easier to log in with a click, but on day one, after registration, it was a bit confusing. The website should aim to keep information more compact, as it can be a bit overwhelming at times. Lots of info, which is excellent, but sometimes you get lost when looking for a specific thing on the website. She's great! s at the moment. I wish that when you click a link/hyperlink, it would open in a new tab instead of the current tab.

My course needs are mostly being met, but I would appreciate feedback for all of my submitted assignments, and more assistance from the job placement. I also want to know more about if I can cite the TEFL textbook in my work. Lastly I want to know if I can use some of the sample activities in my practicum teaching. I would offer more discounts and a clearer understanding to sign up in advance so there is time to do the grammar course. I would like to know up until what time I can complete the grammar course, and if I will have the same advisor for the rest of my job search. Go more in depth about the readings and what the tasks will actually look like. I think Lynn is great, I would like to get a better sense of her personal teaching though As a full time student I don't have time to go to the live lectures, and I am having to cram in some of the assignments to get them turned in on time. The pass fail grade makes it a bit difficult to complete my tasks if I failed a past one because my already full schedule chokes up. I think it is functional:)

I was very satisfied with the help I received from my TEFL advisor/ admissions. When I was unable to pay an installment in at the correct date, I was provided assistance in a timely manner. I found the admissions to be very helpful, and flexible. I think, it would be nice to have more information on Practicum expectations. Since it's not done inside the TEFL academy itself, it can be confusing to get started. Many of the suggested places are also outdated. I found many of the suggested locations in my area to be no longer running. The course instructor provides helpful feedback and is very interactive in the forums. I also appreciate receiving emails when I have received feedback on any assignments. I think that the course content is very accessible and flexible. It's even easy for someone with a full-time job to access and complete the coursework in time. It's not excessive, but still teaches you. I find moodle to be easy to navigate and very helpful. any questions I have are easily answered in the course documents provided at the start of the course.

I am only halfway as you know, but I expected them to not assume I had full knowledge of the English language, now this might because I'm young and didn't learn much in high-school, but I believe they should not only go over how to teach but just give a good review on what you should know before teaching a whole new language to someone because while I believe I could teach English I don't know all the grammatical terms a teacher would use. I would check and note down all the questions people have and make sure it's answered before they have to ask or call but it is their money so they should know what they are getting into to. I can't think of any right now As I said in the other one, I believe they should give a week if not more to teach the grammatical terms and what a teacher should know before having to teach because unfortunately I don't feel ready to teach anyone. maybe a bit more in depth feedback on written assignments, but overall pretty good I didn't notice the live lectures, but I will start to pay attention more to that. It's been easy enough to work through but my computer has had some issues with uploading files.

This class is moving a lot faster than I anticipated. I had no idea what to expect about the lessons really, but it has been moving a good pace, is well organized and not too difficult to successfully complete the lessons, as long as you read first. I would probably give an example of the type of assignments and time frames to be sure you're comfortable with delivering, I don't think that would help much, though. It really comes down to time management. I think the amount of time dedicated to the course needs to be stressed more. I also think that the grading and completion requirements should be highlighted. My advisor was so helpful in so many ways!! Thank you so very much!! I believe maybe a pre-mini grammar course should be made at least optional to help you recall a few things about what you know about Grammar. Also, at least one or two of the recommended textbooks should be included in the price of admission. It might help to have one optional 30 minute group lesson, in addition to the office hour, where we all can get together and learn and provided collaborative input. It is difficult for me to attend live lectures on Wednesday. Are they recorded and made available later? I'll also ask my instructor. Some things are available in multiple places, which is convenient, but sometimes confusing. I was at one point able to download a whole lesson in 1 document. I haven't figured out how I was able to do that. There could be a link in the lesson outlined, after references, that says "Download Entire Chapter's Lesson". It's helpful to refer back to the who lesson instead leaping from one section to the other.

My biggest concern moving forward with the TEFL class was if the job opportunities available would satisfy my needs. Honestly, Abrianna and the team gave me a lot of confidence and were able to answer all my questions with a lot of patience. I am very satisfied with the content and resources that are provided in comparison to what was promised. The class is truly a significant learning experience. The amount of prepared videos and resources are impressive. This is likely due to the history ITA has in the TEFL instruction industry, which is one thing that gave me a lot of reassurance when choosing this course. I am excited to be a part of the ITA family now, and look forward to participating as an alumni. I wish I had seen a course outline before signing up, but I don't know if I asked. It would have given me solid confidence in my choice. I am challenged by it, and that means I am learning something. I think offering links to some TEFL communities online (like Reddit, Bluesky, or Linkedin) would have given me even more confidence in the future of TEFL teaching for me. Since starting the class I have connected with other TEFL teachers and industry professionals which make me feel like there is a community for me. Lynn is fantastic!!! I'm partially disabled with chronic health conditions. I have to pace myself, my time spent on the course material may be more than a non-disabled person. I have not needed any accommodations, but I wonder if ITA has had experience with disabled students. I would love to know more, or work with ITA to help understand some challenges disabled people face in classes like this. Honestly, I haven't logged into Moodle. I downloaded the app, but haven't found I am missing anything by not using it. (?) Maybe that isn't true, but it is what I perceive.

I wasn't able to log in and really understand the set up/structure of the class until the day the class started. I think opening it up a week or two early to certain aspects (not the reading, etc, but the schedule and high level syllabus would have helped me feel less lost and scrambling the first couple weeks. Part of that is my unfamiliarity with moodle in general and the UI not being intuitive. Liz was fantastic. She was available, quick to respond, and kept me informed of any upcoming seminars and discounted deals to sign up without constantly hounding me about joining. It was the right level of engagement. Its hard to answer on how to better prepare for teaching abroad yet because I haven't done it and don't know how prepared I'll be, but just in the first few weeks of the class, I definitely feel more confident to build my own lesson or even design a course if needed. I am a visual learner, so I think preparation for the course could be done with a simple infographic with timelines, charts, graphs, etc. that show how the class works, how long it takes, how it is broken into weekly deadlines, etc. would really help to see the full picture. Wayne has been great. I have only been able to attend one live zoom class, but he has shared a lot of pre-recorded lessons and there is ample instruction in the reading and lecture library. I mentioned it in a previous comment and I understand it would be a BIG haul, but I do wonder if there is a better platform that is more organized and intuitive than moodle. Moodle seems easy to use for people that have gotten used to it, but for someone new to it, it is very messy navigation and organization.Also, much much smaller nit, but updating and upgrading the production quality of some of the videos in the reading, etc. wouldn't hurt. This is the third time I brought it up (I didn't know there would be a section completely about Moodle :) ), but I do not like it at all. I have learned to find what I need, but it feels like that had a very basic navigation system and then have duct taped additional sections and menus throughout that are repetitive and disjointed. Also, when I submit my assignment, I upload it and it reloads the page and brings me back to the top. Then I need to scroll down and submit the draft. Then it reloads to the top of the page. Then I need to scroll back to the bottom and verify that I did the work and then submit it for it to finally get submitted. Really clunky and I accidentally submitted finished work later than I planned because I didn't know I needed to keep scrolling down to the bottom of the page multiple times to make sure it was submitted.

I think a weekly live asynchronous lecture to teach each chapter would be an improvement. I feel like the peer collab is sort of silly too. People seem to be just writing to write. This sort of format can’t replace actual in class instruction and group discussion. Some students have no experience teaching, some do. It’s a bit of an imbalanced exercise. I think a live lecture/recorded lecture would really help to cement the material in the students mind, because the book is not written very well. It lacks precision. There’s a lot of wasted pages on the history of teaching this subject, ways that were debunked. That’s a nice to know thing, but too much time is given to it I think. Maybe this course is intended for not certified English teachers who have some experience. Maybe they would thrive in this course. If you are totally new to the field, I think more instruction and videos of sample classes would be very helpful. A lot teaching is sort of being an apprentice, learning from more experienced teachers. Maybe you could restructure it so you teach the material and intermix sample classes on video (I mean full length, not snippet). I think that would be really helpful. Maybe tell people that there isn’t an actual asynchronous weekly class. I’m not sure I would have signed up if I had known that there wasn’t. But, then, maybe all these classes are like this. I have no further comments. It would be great if you had an extensive library of videos teaching each chapter. Our teacher said she was going to have 3 videos up. The one I saw was more of a list of don’t do this, don’t do that, wasn’t too positive. I’d love to see videos of teachers teaching actual students of various ages. Maybe more of that will happen with the practicum? Feel a bit like the instructor is a ghost that comes in and out. The feedback she provides is very short. There are so many students that it’s hard to get true conversations going. One student left a few weeks in because he couldn’t grasp the material. Maybe if he was supported more and helped he might have stayed. I read the book, I read it the material again on the website. I think I do this because there is a lot of extraneous nice to know stuff in the book and I need to weed out that material to get to the important stuff I will be tested on an need to know. The book could be scaled down by a lot, with actual grammar reviews woven in. I bought the grammar book too, which I’ve started to read. It’s helpful. But I do a lot of internet searches when I have questions, which is faster. I’ve found youtube to be a great source for me and other education website. I’m learning and getting the basics down. I just wish I was being taught. This is more like independent learning. I can do that, but it would be nice to be in an actual class (that was recorded in case the students couldn't be there at that time and watch it later.) I don’t get what the point of Moodle is. Maybe I’m just slow or something, but I find looking at the website is preferable. Moodle seems extraneous. If might be helpful if I lived in a city and was traveling on public transport, needing something to do and didn't want to pull out my laptop.

My course instructor and advisor are both wonderful! Maybe providing tips for life abroad and navigating different cities and countries. My course instructor has been really amazing! I have been unable to make any lectures due to my extremely busy schedule with work and classes. Very easy to navigate!

I don't think there's anything that needs to be done to improve the pre-registration process. It is fine the way it is. There is nothing that needs to be done. It is fine the way it is. Wonderful course instructor. Everything has been explained clearly and helpfully. I have no complaints as everything has been running smoothly.

The TEFL admissions advisor has always answered my questions and concerns on time. I think the design could be more user friendly. I'd like to have access to my course link earlier/quicker. I wish the homework for peer participation was graded earlier so I have more time to complete any additional content I need to correct. I think the methods and approaches week could be two weeks instead of one. I don't have any additional comments.

I would say that my Advisor made it a smooth registration process. She answered all my questions regarding courses/bundles. I would say that it would be better if there were a forum for current students to speak with Alumni. I think this would be great for those who don't use Facebook or other social media. I appreciate my course instructor for providing us with resources that are helpful to us! I think the course content is very organized. It is easy to navigate the textbook, assignments, and discussions.

I wouldn't. It was easy and lots of payment options were available. My advisor was magnificent. She always answered my questions in a timely manner even when I thought they were silly questions. I can't think of anything. She has been so helpful, above and beyond, making the whole process feel less daunting. At first it seems like too much, but as you get into it, the homework tasks pull everything together so well that it feels like you are really learning so much! I almost never get into Moodle so I am not super familiar with it.

My advisor did help me answer some awesome questions about placement and what would be best for my application process to meet my personal needs! Super nice. I didn't really have any questions as far as course expectations were concerned. I don't really have any advice here - I think it's up to individuals interested in more in-depth information to seek it out in conjunction with their advisor. The website is pretty straightforward for basic resources/information. Lynn is very nice and super helpful! Appreciate the additional videos. . . .

I think the pre-registration process is top tier. I have felt fully supported and have been provided all the information needed for the course. My advisor, Ambrosia was an extremely helpful resource. My advisor Ambrosia was very instrumental in me deciding to pursue this course. She was extremely knowledgeable and accessible and provided clear detailed options that I could pursue based on our conversation about my goals. I think it's a very good website and the information is readily available. Great instructor! Very specific and encouraging feedback. Really enjoying the course! No issues so far!

My advisor Becca was extremely helpful and motivated me to finally take the step of applying for this program. I have been able to keep myself informed and on top of things thus far. The website can maybe create a more detailed roadmap of where to start and add links to direct to the right pages for help navigating their steps towards finding a job. If possible, if I can receive more constructive criticism of my work so I know how I can better do future assignments. If possible to watch more videos of teachers in the field modeling lessons or portions of the lessons from the chapters. It would help to watch a glimpse of how it could be for us.

My TEFL Admissions Advisor was incredibly helpful, communicative, and kind during my inquiry and enrollment processes for the TEFL course. Rebecca reached out through text and emails and responded to any questions I had in a timely manner. The ITA Website could maybe include a sample/mock webpage of what the standard Moodle landing page looks like. Lynn is extremely communicative and provides detailed, helpful feedback which is essential as an online teacher. Though we have not met in person, I can feel her enthusiasm and expertise through her forum announcement posts and emails. The organization for each week's topic is fantastic. The order thus far has been logical and easy to follow. I used Moodle in university, so I am familiar with how it works. ITA utilizes Moodle better than my university professors did!

A few more practical, session-based lectures or live classes would make the lesson more comprehensible and easier to grasp. The pre-registration process is smooth and requires few alternatives. Providing brochures, emails, or a WhatsApp group with explanations about jobs, classes, and other details could make the process even easier and more accessible. The Admissions Advisor was friendly and really guided me through the process. Registering for the course was straightforward and stress-free. The ITA website is really helpful! Adding a few more tips, resources, or examples about teaching abroad could make it even easier for students to feel prepared and confident. Everything was great, s. All good, I have no additional feedback. The Moodle app was rarely needed since the website already provides almost everything required.

I am not sure. I joined because of the posted instagram take overs ion youtube that detailed post graduate life as a tefl teacher. I would probably focus on that by making sure more are produced and watched by the masses. I would make more clear pathways or programs for someone who would like to work for the ITA company. That is my longterm goal and I would like more guidance towards it. providing online students with practicum students to teach. that would be pretty awesome so that we don't have to try and search for it ourselves. She is pretty good at what she does and creates a calm learning environment. Sometimes I would like feedback to be a little bit more substantial, but overall she is solid. It does what it needs to do. Easy, precise, discoverable. It does require you to be a bit explorative, but I think that is fine.

Currently in this course everyone has been really helpful even when I feel like I can't do it. I hope to be able to pass this course, despite my doubts. The encouragement from my teacher and advisor has really helped me keep pushing through this course no matter how hard I think it might be. So far it seems straight forward. There just is a lot of reading. Sometimes it is hard to sit down and want to go through it all. I love that my instructor is open to help me as much as needed. She really wants us to succeed. The words from the book sometimes seem like extra wordy and can take a minute to truly get to the base understanding of what is being said. But, once you read it a few times it starts to make more sense. So far I have figured out pretty easily how to submit, and move around my course options. I haven't had an issue so far... knock on wood...

I personally attended close to a dozen webinars hosted by the ITA staff prior to actually signing up for the TEFL course. Those webinars helped build my motivation to take the course and eventually it was enough. I would recommend continuing the webinars as long as you can! No major comments, I found the course registration process quite simple. I think the ITA website is informative. It took me some time to become familiar with the user interface, but now I'm at the point where I feel like I can find anything related to the course. I appreciate Alyssa's willingness to host office hours over the weekend. I work full-time, so that flexibility (to me) shows her dedication to helping the class. So far so good! Similar to the ITA website, it took a little bit to familiarize myself with Moodle. However, 5 weeks have now passed and I feel comfortable navigating it.

I can't think of any suggestions for improvement. Ambrosia and your automated resources were amazing! Admissions Advisor, Ambrosia Maddox, is EXCELLENT. She has been welcoming, supportive, efficient...I couldn't ask for more! I would suggest a stronger immediate admonition that students not attempt to take specialty courses until after the 11-week main course has been completed. Why? Because the time and effort required to get the most out of the EXCELLENT quality instruction in the 11-week course. At this stage, Chapter 5, I feel it would be too much of an impediment to maximum effective intake of the "feast" of information and learning experiences offered in the 11-week course. All that abundance of quality needs time to process! I think Ms. Rhonda Petree is an amazing instructor. She is generous with her time, so talented and inspiring. Great material, relevant to goals, and intellectually challenging. I enjoy using it, and have had no problems with it so far.

Very much enjoying the course. Kenneth was very helpful in the admissions process. Rhonda has been great to work with and is a very attentive instructor. I look forward to learning more about job placement options from student affairs. I'm looking at Vietnam only so that will be my focus. I think the website is already very robust in all aspects. Perhaps a bit more detail surrounding job placement. I know it's difficult to get too specific as students desire to teach in many different places. Perhaps there could be a bit more support information for those of us that are older....50+. Kenneth had some good insights on this but perhaps a little more information or assistance connecting with non-traditional teachers when it comes to age. Ageism is real! Rhonda is great. Not sure how she finds the time to respond to so many students, but she does. Very attentive. I like that she brings her own experiences, both teaching and living abroad, into the classroom conversations. I have had difficulty in getting to the live lectures. I have tried to follow up with the lecture library. Another project at the moment is occupying much of my time. Things are very well organized. A LOT of built-in reminders. Thank you for that! No suggestions at this point.

I think there should be more explanation about the direct job placement options in the beginning, because I didn't sign up for that but would definitely like to do that. I think it would have been helpful to have a more in-depth consultation about job placement options because I still have a lot of questions about that. But all things considered, the process was quick, and I am glad I enrolled in the course. I got some very detailed emails, but I think they were basically form emails with a lot of links to the website. We only had one in-depth conversation in the very beginning. That being said, he has always responded back to me fairly quickly by text and email. I think the course is very high quality and also manageable, even with a super hectic schedule outside of this class, which is very important to me since I am always stressed out and busy! I noticed that some of the resources on the website require a form to be filled out in order to access them, so I think I have done that maybe 4 or 5 times even after enrolling in and starting the class. Very upbeat, and seems to be always open to helping us with any issues related to our assignments. I am so busy I don't have time to do any live events with this class, but it's great that its asynchronous so I can still squeeze the learning in every week! I'm used to Moodle because I've taken other classes that use it. So it's nice to see that familiar format.

I liked that I was able to easily get in contact with my admissions advisor through email or text. I also liked being able to schedule a call with my advisor to talk through the process of teaching English abroad, ask about their experience, and ask any questions I had. This made it seem like a reputable program and one that I knew I could trust for taking this course and helping me on this journey. I don't think there are any other ways ITA can better prepare students for the course or experience. There is so much information that I have read through on the website that has informed me of the process of teaching abroad, what the course looks like, and videos and articles by students that have gone through the process and are out in the world teaching currently. The country comparison chart is quite useful for starting to think about where to teach abroad. My course instructor provides very thorough feedback on assignments that is helpful and encouraging! She is also very involved in the discussions with written and video replies. She posts announcements weekly going over the assignments for the upcoming week with a video included. She also posts videos from her weekly office hours going over the content for the week. I feel that she does a great job making sure students have access to the content, understand the assignments, and providing feedback! So far, I have felt that the assignments are very relevant to the course content and to teaching English abroad. There have been college classes when I felt that the assignments were busy work, but I have not felt that about this class. The course seems to take into consideration that students have other things going on in their lives and has assignments and discussions that are especially useful and have students apply their learning to real life situations relating to teaching English abroad. I do not have any suggestions. The platform is organized and easy to use. The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is the long navigation panel on the left side of the screen and all the drop downs. But I tend to just go to the course home page and collapse all the weeks except for the one I am working on and also look at the calendar of events on this page.

half the time, shes on vacation Buying the TEFL book was pointless since the course is based on it and why do we need to pay extra for it? Why isn't it included in the TEFL course. I would like to see more workload like activities to reinforce each lesson

I think the information provided was general and I would've liked more detail regarding the practicum and job finding assistance before I started. Besides these topics, I think it went well. None at this time. I appreciate the course and look forward to becoming a certified TEFL teacher. Thank you! No suggestions at this time I am thankful to have the course instructor that I received because she is communicative, thorough in her teaching, and supportive of her students success. I feel that during live lectures she is engaging and consistently pauses for questions regarding the material. The course content is specific and explains objectives directly. The submissions every week can be more abbreviated. Make a submission every other week. The registration process was seamless no problems. I have been away from a formal education class for many years, I wish I could have prepared myself better for the technology parts of the class. I wonder now if I should have completed the in class option as I originally planned. The 10- 12 weekly commitment is realistic. I may have missed it, but maybe a side by side comparison of the online and in person classes with a survey or quiz that will help a perron decide on which option is best. I have not taken advantage of my instructors office hours, however maybe a weekly recorded visit from an instructor with answers to questions students may have , students should submit questions to the instructor 1- 2 days prior. I hope I am getting what is needed to be one day an excellent, caring and effective English Teacher. This platform has not been effective for me.

Sometimes I think I get a littel overwhelmed navigating the TEFL website. I am curious to see if it can be streamlined a bit more. Moodle does not display the feedback sometimes for my writing assignments.

The website could go over how to avoid scams and exploitative jobs/agencies when job searching. I like my ITA Online instructor's feedback. I like how consistent the formatting is; it helps avoid confusion.
