MAXIMO NIVEL Reviews
An amazing experience

I come from a teaching background and so I thought I had a good grasp on what the course would be like, but I was mistaken! Audra was my trainer and she did a really good job taking my core teaching skills and converting them into English (as a language skills). Even though I had been teaching, I learned so much more about teaching English from her and the course itself is absolutely amazing! I had one issue, but that was with the host family. I didn't have a good experience with the host family I was staying with so I wouldn't recommend opting for that, but the rest is 10/10. Plus being walking distance to a beautiful beach isn't half bad either.

I took Spanish classes here at Maximo Nivel in Costa Rica for 7 weeks. When I first got here I knew hardly anything. But now I moved from basic to intermediate level. My teacher, Hilda, was absolutely amazing and recommend it for everyone!
Rewarding and a desire to stay longer

From mixing concrete and cement, to putting up the walls of the second floor, to the amazing team of people I had the honor to work with this experience should not be passed up. I was the more senior of the group and could probably be father to most I was welcomed in to this project for a solution to a much needed facility in a very poor part of town where those that needed the services most did not get them. The work on the OB/GYN clinic was rewarding as you could measure your progress every day. Marco is awesome and I learned several construction tips from him. Did you know that there is a difference between concrete and cement? It all in the measurements. The final day I was there we did not work on the clinic but walked up what felt like a millions steps to paint and after care facility.
I truly enjoyed this, hope to to do more, and have nothing but thanks to Maximo for checking in on us and making sure that we had the best experience possible. What an amazing group!! Miss you all!! Still following the project because a week wasn’t enough!
Take me back to TEFL

What a brilliant experience it was to study TEFL with Maximo Nivel in Cusco, Peru. Imagine your life like this: waking up to the blistering sun creeping through your window (when it's not raining in the wet season), going out for your morning exploring, having free coffee, learning and laughing and enjoying the company of complete strangers who quickly became some of your closest friends, more free coffee, getting lunch at the market for 2$, talking with locals and witnessing firsthand the rich culture that still lives so visibly in daily life, then going back to school, studying more, teaching students, having your comprehension of the English language grow, discovering things in yourself you didn't know, doing things you couldn't do, wandering off into the mountains or getting lost in idle city alleys on the weekend, living with a family and eating delicious homemade Peruvian food, making new friends, dancing at the bar, getting free shots, all the laughs, smiles, hugs and stretch circles you could share with these friends, all these things waiting to be explored, just out there waiting for you in Cusco. Don't wait! Now is the time to make your life shine!
