What is the living situation like in the Dominican Republic?

Volunteers will experience living in homestays, where they'll engage with a local host family and take part in daily tasks and customs.

Amigos fully supports students & families as they prepare for their project.

  • Before: Risk assessments, host family vetting, health screenings, and comprehensive webinars and training.
  • During: 24/7 staff/medical teams, vetted facilities, travel support, and personalized CALM plans ensure a safe, impactful, immersive experience.
