I loved getting to know the program directors and people in my program through our nighttime classes. The hospital and Spanish classes taught me a lot, but being immersed in Argentine activities like mate class was such a great way to make friends, practice the language, and learn more about the culture. I love the closeness and openness that Argentine people have with each other. I feel much more empowered to ask questions even when I think it might be annoying or an inconvenience. In the hospital I got a lot of reassurance that my questions were good and the doctors took a lot of time to answer them and make me feel heard.

I loved discovering a new culture and language. I was able to meet new people and forge unforgettable links with some extraordinary people. I was able to develop my independence, my communication skills as well as my English and Spanish. My program manager and the local team were very helpful and highly responsive to any questions or doubts I might have had.

The checklist online was really useful for making sure I had completed all of the tasks before I left. I enjoyed the most giving tours to tourists around the mariposario. I think I gained confidence and communication skills that will be extremely useful further on in my career. I also improved my Spanish a lot of I look forward to working on it when I am home and using it for a future job.
