Help low-income Indigenous communities transition from deforestation and agrochemical use toward sustainable, regenerative farming. THE CHALLENGE Ecuador is the 8th most biodiverse country in the world. Although Bolívar Province hosts a wide variety of flora and fauna, it’s among the poorest. Malnutrition, illiteracy, and poverty remain high. Reliance on agrochemicals has degraded soils and polluted water. Native forests have been replaced by fields and eucalyptus trees, biodiversity has plummeted, and landslides are frequent. Since the war in Ukraine, agrochemical prices have soared while produce prices stay stagnant. THE SOLUTION Change is essential, but government support is scarce. Our mission is to foster socioeconomic growth while restoring fragile ecosystems. Bring your passion and expertise to help local farmers build a more sustainable, meaningful, and prosperous future through this internship. OUR METHODOLOGY Our internships use Design Thinking to co-create solutions with local partners. You will learn to observe, ideate, and prototype in real contexts. On weekends, before and after your stay, you can explore Ecuador, from the Amazon to the Galápagos.
