This two-year master's degree, taught entirely in English, equips you with the essential knowledge of material science, chemistry, and biology to become an expert in the design and synthesis of new bio- and nanomaterials.  The program involves traditional lectures and laboratory classes, teaching you to prepare bio- and nanomaterials and explore their chemical-physical characteristics, properties, methods of preparation, and applications. During your studies, you can complete an internship and learn on the job at research laboratories and companies in Italy and abroad. Graduates of the Science and Technology of Bio and Nanomaterials may be employed in all technical sectors, including managerial positions, of companies that manufacture, process, and develop materials of various natures, whether structured or functional.

This master's program is designed to meet the demand for regional biosafety expertise. It provides training in potential risks associated with the use of modern biotechnology products in trade, biological, and biotechnology research as well as promotes a greater understanding of modern biotechnology. The course focuses on the design constructs of genetically modified organisms. Biodiversity concepts and environmental challenges in relation to GMOs, especially in relation to the Caribbean are studied. Furthermore, knowledge on how to assess the risk posed by the use of genetically modified organisms is accessed.
