Volunteer and Teach in Laos | IVHQ

Volunteers on the Teaching project will be placed within a local village school, teaching local Laotian children from disadvantaged family backgrounds. The students range in age from 6 to 12 years old and teaching will follow the school curriculum. Volunteers can also be placed in a school for deaf and blind students where they teach children with sight and hearing disabilities, across various age categories. On all Teaching placements, volunteers will focus on teaching English and will also assist the local teachers during lessons covering other subjects, including art, math, sport, handicraft and geography. The Teaching project is ideal for volunteers who enjoy working with primary school-aged children and who would like to help improve the English language skills of the students, as well as developing the interests and ambitions of the children in different areas. Those volunteers who enjoy a challenge to overcome teaching barriers, will be a great fit for the deaf and blind school. To see the children learn, develop and enjoy themselves is an incredibly rewarding experience.
