With up to ten other international volunteers you will teach English to children, teachers and other community leaders, encourage and support women’s empowerment and work alongside HIV/AIDS organizations to help raise awareness of HIV/AIDS. Volunteers will sing, dance, play and help the children to develop their creative skills through the mediums of drawing, coloring and painting. You will help with the schools’ general maintenance to provide a pleasant learning environment for its students. You will work among our many different projects. Current projects include but are not limited to working with the nursery and primary schools, after-school clubs and Kiwakukki which is a HIV/AIDS group which originally was established to support women in the community who suffered from HIV/AIDS.

We are looking for passionate graduates, who are keen to learn about global challenges, work with youth and define their own purpose. After an initial period of training, you will be placed in one of our overseas hubs as a Group Mentor and Project Implementor, you will be supporting our in-country team through coordinating group projects and supporting our project participants on their journey to becoming global citizens. During Tanzanian holidays, in June and December, we offer two daily sessions: in the morning, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and evening, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Join Hope Horizon Foundation in a hands-on volunteer program that uses the power of football to uplift and inspire young people—especially street children and school-aged youth, both girls and boys. As a volunteer, you’ll help coach, mentor, and guide participants on and off the field, promoting teamwork, leadership, and personal growth. Through structured sports activities, you’ll support children’s reintegration into school, encourage gender equality, and teach essential life skills. You’ll also contribute to human rights education and environmental awareness, reinforcing values like discipline, respect, and community service. Volunteers play a key role in school partnerships, where football training goes hand-in-hand with conservation efforts such as tree planting. The vulnerable children in Tanzania always need extra support. Given that schools and daycare centers are underfunded with limited resources, this Childcare Project always appreciates any support, love, and care provided as well as any advancements to enhance the capacity of the institutions. Volunteers work with placement directors and other local staff, for which we require full cooperation. The Childcare Project involves teaching, playing with, and caring for the children and assisting teachers and staff in providing basic education, teaching hygiene, and healthy living. Volunteers assist with other activities like cooking and cleaning. They also help with implementing class schedules, creating class decorations, and enhancing the capacity of the centers by supporting the advancement of administrative departments. Participation in any of these activities depends on how comfortable you are with tending to the task provided. If you feel uncomfortable with a task, it is okay to be substituted by a staff member. Volunteers give a direct contribution of $50 to the center.

CERFO’s Environmental Conservation Program, based in Akheri Village, Arusha–Tanzania, focuses on restoring local ecosystems and promoting sustainable community practices. The program works with local residents, schools, and youth groups to protect natural resources and strengthen resilience against environmental challenges. Key activities include tree planting, waste management education, sustainable agriculture training, and protection of water sources.
