It was one of the best decisions I've made and I will remember this experience for many years
December 17, 2023by: LedenProgram: Tanzania - Kilimanjaro Teaching and Community InvolvementOf course, the most memorable was visiting the schools in the near by villages. I loved the bus ride to the schools because I was able to get a glimpse of the daily lives of the people of Zanzibar. I enjoyed staying in the home with the other volunteers. I got to meet people from Portugal, Spain, Belgium, France, Finland, and the Netherlands. I am not going to lie, when I first arrived I was nervous and was asking myself what had I gotten myself into especially because I had gone alone. But it was one of the best decisions I’ve made and I will remember this experience for many years. I enjoyed meeting the coordinators who were locals as well as the ladies who went to cook and clean each day. The children at the school were lovely and so welcoming. I got the chance to stay for 2 weeks and wish I could have stayed longer. If I did it again, I’d for sure go for at least 3-4 weeks and I would recommend others to that as well.
My volunteering experience to Moshi!
August 19, 2014by: Jen Howse - OXFORDSHIREProgram: Tanzania - Kilimanjaro Teaching and Community InvolvementI had an amazing experience teaching the Masai and nursery children in Moshi! Everything was very well organised for both GoEco and African Impact, and all the pre-departure info was very helpful. I met so many lovely volunteers from around the world, and the community were so welcoming and grateful for us being there - it was nice seeing the difference we had made! I am already thinking about going again next summer! Thank you GoEco and African Impact for allowing me to have such a good time out in Tanzania - I will never forget the people I met out there nor the memories I made!
