Active Volunteers Abroad (AVA) is a leading volunteer NGO trusted by more than 4,000 volunteers. AVA offers volunteer abroad programs starting from just US$25 per day, including accommodation. With AVA, you can volunteer overseas for periods ranging from 1 to 24 weeks. Programs are available year-round across Asia and Africa!
AVA works in cooperation with its partners in 19 destination countries in Asia and Africa, including Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Bangladesh, India, Philippines, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Timor-Leste, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, and Tanzania.

Our volunteer programs are mainly based in Asia and Africa including Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Bangladesh, India, Philippines, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Timor Leste, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, and Tanzania, with opportunities to support local communities in education, community development, environmental activities, and other social initiatives.
How long can I apply?
Volunteers can join for short-term placements from 2 weeks or long-term placements depending on their availability and the program needs.
Do I need previous volunteer experiences?
No. Many volunteers join AVA for their first volunteer experience. We provide orientation and support during your placement.
