Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need teaching experience

No. You don't need to be a qualified teacher to join our teaching volunteer program. We welcome people who are enthusiastic about working with children and willing to learn. Your role will depend on your experience and the needs of the school.

What will I be doing as a teaching volunteer

Your activities can include supporting local teachers, helping children practise English, assisting with classroom activities, organising educational games, creative activities or sports. You will work alongside local staff rather than replacing them.

What age groups will I work with?

This depends on the school and current availability. Placements may include kindergarten or primary-school children. We will discuss your preferences and experience before matching you with a suitable project.

Can I choose what I teach?

We will take your interests, skills and experience into consideration. However, the exact activities depend on the needs of the school and the guidance of local teachers. The goal is to provide support where it is genuinely useful.

What makes Volunteer Travel Experience different?

VTE is a small-scale volunteer organization focused on personal support and meaningful experiences. You will become part of a small international volunteer community while working alongside local teachers and connecting with the community. We want you to not only volunteer, but also learn from the people and environment around you.
