Environmental Studies Internships in Thailand

I interned in Bangkok at a law firm, I had a great relationship with my colleagues and they were very friendly and welcoming. The intern group was also great, they provided airport pickup and arranged weekly excursions for the inters, which were always exciting. I loved the city and the internship allowed me to see a side of Bangkok tourist usually don't get the opportunity to see. I loved the experience and would definitely do it again.

I had a 6 week, software engineering internship in Bangkok. The experience was great and well directed by the intern group, the accommodation was fantastic and the weekly excursions were very fun, the excursions allowed me to dive into the culture and explore Bangkok. My host organisation was an international real estate company, I worked in the business technology department and had a great experience, my colleagues and boss were very welcoming and communication wasn't an issue. Overall the experience was great and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get experience. It has greatly improved my success when applying for jobs after graduation too.

Working in Bangkok through The Intern Group was truly an amazing experience. I interned at an international law firm and worked on many projects, but the personal growth I experienced was what truly stayed with me. Being able to live and work in Thailand pushed me far outside of my comfort zone, with any international trip you have to adapt to a new country, new people, a new culture, and a completely different environment. The biggest impact came when I returned home. Having to go back to my normal routines made me realize just how much I had changed. I came back more confident, independent, open-minded and much more aware of what I wanted from life. I started questioning the things I had accepted simply because they were familiar and became more comfortable letting go of people, environments, and routines that were no longer making me happy. It genuinely felt like I had closed one chapter of my life and walked into a completely new one. I would recommend The Intern Group to anyone who is willing to challenge themselves and experience something completely outside of their normal life. you may go into it expecting an internship, but you just might come back realizing that you are capable of so much more than you thought. For me, Thailand didn't just give me work experience, it gave me a new perspective on my life and the courage to start building towards the future I actually want.

My experience in Thailand has been so fun! I got to see a lot of the major temples and sites that are a must visit. I made many friends with the other interns here. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. They helped me with any questions I had or anything in general. Overall my experience was amazing, 10/10 would recommend to anyone on the fence about it! I would even come back if I could!

Personally, though, my experience with the TIG has been so much positive. Their team was always responsive and supportive throughout the whole process. They helped me a lot to prepare for mock interviews pre-interview with the host company, organised CV workshops and seminars and even ran cultural sessions that brought me closer to a better idea of what living and interning abroad would actually be like before i arrived. They also helped me with accommodation, my visa process and answered pretty much every question i had along the way. What I actually do appreciate the most is how supportive the Bangkok Intern Group has been. Whenever I need help whether it was with exchanging money, accommodation, or if any issues came up with work, they are always there to help and respond quickly. I would definitely say this experience has been worth all.

I absolutely loved my summer in Bangkok with Beyond Academy. It was really interesting to learn about Thai culture from just walking to the BTS station and talking to locals. It is very humid in Bangkok and be prepared to sweat a lot but it is worth it! The food in Thailand is delicious, my personal favorite was the Thai Basil Rice (you can clarify your spice levels). I also highly suggest to travel to other places in Thailand/South East Asia while you are there. I went to Phuket, Ko Samet (beaches) and Chang Mai (more mountains/rural).

Living and working on the other side of the world in a completely different culture is not the easiest thing in the world. Beyond Academy made this transition as smooth as possible, and made sure that I was safe and accounted for frequently throughout my two months there.

Got to do an internship in Bangkok, Thailand. Biggest city I've ever lived in and first time working in person for a company and I was never stressed. Beyond really helps you every step of the way with finding an internship, housing, and then hosting events throughout the internship so you can meet other interns! My favorite part of this experience was getting so many opportunities to talk to and learn from local people so I always had someone I could ask for recommendations of things to do. We had a paid for trip to another city for a week and my boss took everyone out to dinner and to different activities after work and it was a lot of fun and a great look into the Thai work and social culture.

My internship experience in Bangkok was fantastic and gave me valuable insight into a real working environment in my field. Staying in Bangkok allowed me to experience a vibrant new culture, and our program manager, Quynh, made the entire trip even better. She was incredibly helpful, friendly, and consistently supportive throughout the whole experience. My time at ISDSI was one of the most unique experiences I have ever had. Throughout my time in Thailand, I was given ample support and knowledge to be independent and respectful in a foreign country. As a college student and young adult, the encouragement we were given to be independent and experience all that the culture had to offer allowed me to not only grow as a student, but as a person as well. I was pushed outside of my comfort zone, which allowed me to make new friends, go new places, and try new things. I was able to experientially learn new skills and be immersed in a culture foreign to my own and now very special to me. It was truly one of the best experiences I have ever had.

Over two months, I gained valuable skills, working on tasks like Facebook ad management and helping with the company’s website. This hands-on experience taught me how to adapt to challenges and grow professionally. I appreciated the trust and responsibilities given to me. Despite some hurdles, I consider this internship a significant learning experience that has prepared me well for future opportunities. I’m grateful for the support and mentorship I received throughout my time there.

My experience traveling to Bangkok for my first solo excursion abroad was incredibly fulfilling and comfortable. I was fortunate to be placed in a job where my skills were relevant and well-utilized. The accommodations provided were excellent, and I appreciated the funded excursions organized by TIG. While my overall experience was positive, there are areas where the organization could improve. It seems the company is somewhat understaffed, which may impact its ability to fully support the number of interns it manages. During the placement process, I narrowly secured an internship that aligned with my career interests within the available time frame. The initial job opportunities presented to me did not align well with my professional goals, and the placement process felt a bit rushed. That said, I understand the challenges the organization faces, particularly with coordinating across multiple time zones and working within tight schedules. Despite these difficulties, once I arrived on-site, the program did an excellent job ensuring I felt comfortable and supported in adapting to a new country. In conclusion, while there are some challenges in the placement process, the on-site experience is highly rewarding, and I appreciate the efforts made by TIG to facilitate a positive and enriching internship experience.

It was such a blessing to call Bangkok home for 8 weeks! This program was incredible and I've been able to make so many valuable connections throughout this journey. Unfortunately I seemed to get the short end of the stick when it came to the actual internship, as it wasn't exactly what I was hoping for, but everything outside of work was amazing. I feel like I got to do and see so much in Thailand, yet barely scratched the surface of what the beautiful country has to offer. TIG was very helpful; Jinnie put together events and weekly meet-ups for us to see different parts of the culture. This was a great experience overall, I'm glad I did it.

My experience this summer has honestly been a dream come true with all of the new friends I’ve made, challenging work experience I’ve been put through and amazing new culture I’ve learnt about. The intern group staff were also a pleasure to connect with at all times, especially my experience co-ordinator Jinnie who made me feel welcome from start to end whilst setting up lots of really fun meet ups with other interns. I had an amazing experience interning in Bangkok this summer! The 6 weeks I was here have been some of the best weeks of my life so far. Outside of my internship, the TIG staff were really helpful, friendly and organised great events where I felt immersed in Thai culture. The only thing I would comment on is the fact that my internship was not related to my chosen career field. However saying this, my internship helped me in developing transferable skills that I will be able to apply to my future career, so my time was well spent and extremely fulfilling. I feel a sense of academic and personal growth due to TIG and would recommend to anyone who wants to advance their career by working internationally.

Choosing to intern in Bangkok this summer was a shot in the dark, but it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. For starters, BKK is an amazing city. It is unbelievably vibrant and cheap, with good public transport and safety. The food is super high quality, every neighborhood feels incredibly distinct, and you will literally never be bored. As for the work experience, I absolutely loved my job. So many internships dissolve to interns simply getting lunch and coffee, but I was able to immerse myself in my company's operations. I learned so much about the industry, the SEA ecosystem, and my own personal career goals. In general, if you aren't sure what you want to do next summer, this is the perfect opportunity for you. There's no better way to learn about yourself and grow as a person than by diving headfirst into a new culture. Bangkok is the perfect city for interns simply because it is so lively, cheap, and International, so you're always experiencing new things. Finally, working at companies that want you to get involved in every area is a blessing. With that said, definitely give TIG Bangkok a try!

My experience interning in Bangkok was great - both the internship and cultural experiences were phenomenal and I had an amazing time. In terms of the internship, I got to work at a super interesting host company that was and will be useful as I evaluate next steps in terms of my career goals. The program itself was well-organised and very fun. The activities offered opportunities for cultural immersion and were useful as I figured out how I wanted to spend my time in the city throughout the two months.
