I really enjoyed my internship as I have gained new skills in Warehouse Operations and Management which makes me more employable in the NZ job market. This internship has helped me to open new career oportunities in the logistics industry.

My favorite aspect of this program is to allow me to work and play a sport internationally, and explore new things in New Zealand. I really like the work-life balance. It is worthwhile to learn and break through obstacles by doing realistic work. I received a few key areas that benefit and teach me in research skills: governance, administration, and performance. Having research skills including governance, administration, and performance, I can obtain and enhance my marketability to any employer, not just it, but allow me to view different dimensions from a low administrative level to an authoritative level. Additionally, I joined the club and played rugby. It makes so much sense what I learn from my internship.

During my internship at my internship, several aspects of the programme stood out as particularly rewarding and impactful. Supportive Team Environment: The welcoming and collaborative atmosphere there made it easy to ask questions and seek guidance. Team members were approachable and invested in my learning, which helped me feel like I was a valued part of the organisation from the start. Sense of Accomplishment: Being trusted with responsibilities and seeing the tangible impact of my contributions was highly motivating. It gave me confidence in my abilities and inspired me to pursue further opportunities in the field. Overall, my internship was a highly engaging and educational experience that not only enhanced my technical skills but also helped me grow personally and professionally. Confidence and Initiative: Being entrusted with responsibilities and encouraged to contribute ideas boosted my confidence. I became more proactive in seeking solutions and taking ownership of my work. Overall, this internship has equipped me with a solid foundation of practical skills and professional habits that will be invaluable as I move forward in my career. I am very satisfied with the service provided during my internship. The team was supportive, the environment was welcoming, and the programme was well-structured.

My favourite aspects of the programme are exposure to real projects and the opportunity to apply my knowledge in a professional setting. The supportive mentorship and constructive feedback provided made the whole learning experience engaging, which I'm really thankful for. Overall, these all helped me improve and gain the confidence I needed. I benefited from this internship by gaining valuable on-the-job experience, understanding the workflow, how different disciplines coordinate on projects, and improving my skills and knowledge. Key skills I learned and improved include technical drafting, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, time management, and the ability to receive and apply constructive feedback.

I really enjoy the work I’m doing in my internship, as it aligns well with my academic background and the direction I’d like to pursue in the future. I have learned how to read and interpret solar system drawings, deploy wireless communication systems, and integrate them effectively with solar PV systems. I have also strengthened my problem-solving skills through hands-on experience.

One of my favourite aspects of the internship programme at the internship was the opportunity to gain real-world experience in a professional technology services environment. The internship allowed me to observe and participate in the coordination of projects related to AV, IT, and automation systems, which gave me valuable insight into how technology integration companies manage their daily operations. Another aspect I particularly appreciated was learning about the workflow of service coordination. I was able to see how tasks and service requests were created, assigned, and monitored, and how technicians were dispatched to client sites when issues occurred. Observing these processes helped me understand the importance of communication, scheduling, and accurate information management in ensuring that projects and service calls run smoothly. I also enjoyed working with the team and experiencing the collaborative culture within the organisation. The staffs were supportive and willing to share their knowledge, which helped me learn about different roles within the company, including project managers, technicians, and administrative staff. This exposure helped me understand how different departments work together to deliver technology solutions and services to clients. Another favourite aspect of the programme was the opportunity to develop professional skills such as communication, organisation, and problem-solving. Through observing meetings, managing records, and assisting with coordination tasks, I gained a better understanding of how business operations function in a real workplace environment. Finally, the internship provided valuable learning about the importance of efficiency in service operations. I was able to identify areas where workflows could be improved, particularly in relation to task management and information flow between systems. This experience helped me connect theoretical knowledge from my studies with practical workplace applications. Overall, the internship programme was a valuable learning experience because it allowed me to develop practical workplace skills, gain industry exposure, and better understand how technology service organisations operate in New Zealand.

I used Internex in 2024 as I wanted to live abroad while also gaining practical work experience. Internex provided the perfect opportunity to move to New Zealand while undertaking an internship. From my first meetings with Chris, he was extremely helpful and made the daunting decision to move abroad feel much easier and manageable. I started my internship in August 2024 with a social work organisation working with women and children. I felt fully supported by the team and began shadowing their work right away. After a couple of months, I was very excited to be given the opportunity of a job with the organisation. This meant extending my time in New Zealand, which I was very grateful for. My job involved conducting home visits with families across Auckland who needed emotional and practical support. I felt privileged to be working alongside great social workers, and I gained experience from observing their practice. This experience I was able to gain, helped me find employment in the area I was interested in when I came home in May 2025. I was also assigned a wonderful homestay by Internex. My homestay made me feel so welcome and contributed to making my time in New Zealand so great. I am grateful to Internex for providing this homestay as having a safe place to stay was very important to me. Overall, I had an amazing time living and working in New Zealand and I am so thankful for the team at Internex for making it possible! I would recommend using their services to find interesting internships that can lead to exciting opportunities, all while feeling fully supported to experience the wonderful country of New Zealand.

My favourite aspects of the programme was its working environment and very supportive and friendly staff and owner. They provided me with everything I wanted to learn and know. I was granted limited access to their system for more understanding of their business segments. Overall, the internship provided an excellent balance of learning, professional development, and teamwork. skills you have learnt. This internship has been an invaluable learning experience that has enhanced both my professional and personal development. I have gained a deeper understanding of financial operations, data analysis, and business decision-making within a real corporate environment. I have also developed key skills including analytical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication. Additionally, working in a dynamic media company has improved my adaptability, time management, and ability to work under deadlines. Overall, the internship has significantly strengthened my confidence and prepared me for future roles in finance and business management. Overall, the internship experience has been well-organized and supportive.

Through this program I was able to gain valuable professional experience in working within the non-profit sector. Internex was able to pair me with an internship experience that was truly worthwhile and fulfilling. They also provided excellent support in navigating New Zealand and especially Auckland, where my internship was placed. Throughout the experience Internex was super supportive and available for any questions or concerns that may arise during that time and even before I arrived to make sure that the transition would be successful. Because of their support I was able to experience and explore the amazing country of New Zealand while also creating professional growth.

Living in New Zealand has been a deeply rewarding experience; one that offered not just professional development, but a true sense of connection. Internex placed me at a government-affiliated training institution where I contributed to projects in digital learning and assessment design. Outside of work, I chose a homestay with a kind and welcoming couple who made me feel like part of the family. Their generosity and warmth created a home away from home and gave me a deeper appreciation for Kiwi hospitality. Renting a car made weekend adventures easy, and the balance between professional engagement and personal exploration was just right. This experience reminded me how energising it is to live in a new environment, and how much growth comes from feeling both challenged and cared for.

The Work Integrated Learning (WIL) course at Auckland University of Technology (AUT) has been one of the most valuable components of my academic journey to date, primarily due to the university’s intensive support and structured guidance throughout the placement process. This framework not only enabled me to establish meaningful connections with members of the New Zealand workforce and to experience a welcoming and supportive workplace culture, but it also consistently provided important stimuli for self-reflection. As a result, I have gained not only professional and intercultural competencies, but also valuable insights into my academic and career aspirations. These include a growing interest in undertaking further placements as well as the decision to pursue specific courses within my degree programme.

This internship has significantly sharpened both my operational logistics understanding and my quality management awareness. It stands out for integrating high‑tech manufacturing practices with a transparent ISO‑driven quality culture—all in a friendly, supportive team environment. I feel far more employable as a professional capable of bridging production and QA disciplines.

Working in an international environment enhanced my cultural awareness and adaptability, which I believe are crucial for my future career.

Everyone was willing to extend their help, making my learning experience smoother and more enriching. I also deeply appreciate the opportunity given to me by Rod, which allowed me to gain valuable hands-on experience in warehousing and logistics. This internship has been a truly rewarding experience for me. Coming in with zero knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics, I have gained valuable hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of how warehousing functions. I have learned key skills such as inward and outward goods processing, inventory management, and using warehouse management systems. Additionally, I have developed problem-solving skills, improved my attention to detail, and enhanced my ability to collaborate with different teams. This experience has given me greater confidence in applying my knowledge to real-world logistics challenges. My experience with the agency has been very positive, especially with Theresa, who handled my case with great professionalism and support. She was always responsive, helpful, and ensured a smooth process for me. At this stage, I don’t have any major suggestions for improvement, as everything was well-managed. However, continuing to provide the same level of personalised support and clear communication to future interns would be beneficial. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to be part of this internship program. It has been an invaluable learning experience that allowed me to gain hands-on knowledge in warehouse operations and logistics. The support from the team, especially across Inwards Goods, Outwards Goods, and the office, made a significant impact on my learning journey. I also appreciate the guidance and support from Rod and the agency, particularly Theresa, for making the process smooth and well-coordinated. I really enjoyed working independently and bringing all of my skills to the table. I felt that my placement was an excellent fit for my strengths and interests, and it provided me with excellent learning opportunities along the way.

As a graduate student of social work and pastoral ministry with interests in community development, I researched a number of internship placements in a number of international settings. I soon found ISA/TEAN's wide array of opportunities. After some initial applications, their admission staff connected me with their Service-Learning program which allowed me to specialize in nonprofit work. What particularly struck me about ISA's programs in general was the amount of logistical support they lent me leading up to, during, and after my internship program. ISA/TEAN has a friendly, caring staff across the globe ready to support students. Through organized conversations, Zoom meetings, and micro-credential courses, ISA/TEAN gave me ample opportunities to reflect on my experience abroad—allowing me to approach my experience intentionally and informatively.

I appreciated the staff's dedication to finding me the best possible internship. They took the time to understand what exactly I wanted. Everything was handled in reasonable time frames. This internship has increased my communication skills (online & in-person), lab skills (safety & experimental procedure), & ability to comprehend relevant complex theories.
