Panama City, the capital, has an excellent transportation system, and can easily get you aquí para allá (here to there!). Mexico. Color and vibrancy dance everywhere here. Though just south of the U.S. border, English is a bit rare down here. You’ll have lots of favorable circumstances to practice your Spanish, and even more locals willing to help! Mexico is extremely affordable to live in and accessible to travel around. Doing a Spanish program gap year in Mexico will allow you to get 365 days packed full of vivid culture.

Spain. Everyone wanting to learn Spanish should consider Spain! Though be warned, that Spain Spanish is a little different from Spanish spoken in the western hemisphere. Subtleties aside, doing a gap year Spanish program here will a reward in itself. Prepare for a year full of fiestas and flamenco dancing as you learn Spanish abroad.
