Participants on this project work with a range of animals; anything from chimpanzees to baby cheetahs. The orphanage is a haven for animals with little hope for survival in the wild; these are creatures that have been orphaned, abandoned, injured, born in captivity, or brought up unsuccessfully as pets. The orphanage has been featured in countless documentaries & is now world renowned for its pioneering work as well as famed as one of Africa's largest & most successful wildlife rehabilitation/release centers. Kaya invites art students, carpenters, sculptors, landscape architects, and individuals passionate about art to join this Art Therapy Volunteering in San Ignacio, a town situated approximately two hours away from Belize City. Start any date of the year and stay from 2-12 weeks. The project is aimed at abused and troubled teens from 16 years old abandoned by the legal system. They are hosted in an eco-sustainable center with a farm-like setup. Here, they are provided with food and shelter security to help them heal and recover from a painful past. The farm empowers them to develop into financially independent young people. The Enchanted Forest project involves creating a magical place under the supervision of a lead artist from Mexico. Your group will combine landscaping and art to bring life to the forest area through artwork made from natural resources. You will also create a meditation area. Hence, an open mind, imagination, and creativity are vital to make this project successful.

The Real Uganda's volunteers assist our partners with a variety of empowering community-based activities. Volunteers split their time between these locally requested interventions: Public health and clinical work: Volunteers work in rural clinics providing testing, treatment, counseling services, and prevention education. Nutrition, vegetable gardening, and community sanitation programs are also ongoing. We aim to support rural public health in Uganda. Teaching and childcare: Volunteers work in rural classrooms, choosing what ages and topics to teach. Art and sport are the most popular. Traditional teaching in Uganda is rote learning and memorization. We aim to encourage teamwork, fun, creativity, literacy, and general knowledge in primary schools. Travel to Cambodia and help build houses and sanitation systems for the impoverished neighborhoods of Siem Reap. This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn khmer building techniques, while contributing to an incredible cause. You’ll join an organization addressing the extreme poverty in the Siem Reap province where many live without access to clean drinking water or proper sanitation systems. The main focus of their work is in supplying and constructing proper housing and WASH systems to those without. The organization also runs a community center where education and vocational training programs are held. As an intern, you’ll gain insight into project management while getting involved with construction too. Eco Caminhos is a sustainable eco farm that follows the principles of permaculture and works to produce our own food, energy, and building materials. Our international community in Brazil is located in the peaceful and stunning mountains of Nova Friburgo, Rio Janeiro. Here, we learn to co-live, co-work, evolve, and resolve our problems together. This program is meant for those who have a limited amount of time and still want to experience a sustainable and community life, and learn about bioconstruction (natural building), agroforestry (syntrophic farming), and renewable energy through hands on training. Throughout the week volunteers have free time to go sightseeing, relax, and deepen their connection with nature. Volunteers can choose to focus on permaculture or bioconstruction or have a wider experience participating in all the projects we run. It's generally a hands-on experience for three days each week and plenty of organized activities to choose from (such as Portuguese classes, outdoor activities, trekking, and mountain biking) on other days. This program doesn’t require any experience; only the motivation to learn, enjoy, and get your hands dirty.
