If you get the chance to study abroad with CEA Capa, you should. Participating in Cal Poly's First Year GO Program, and venturing on my own to Sevilla, Spain, was the best choice I could've made. Before I left, I was nervous, unsure, and had never before left the country on my own. With CEA Capa, everything felt do-able. We were welcomed into the city, housed at a very pleasant residence hall, and got to take classes in a beautiful historic building in the city-center. Studying abroad with CEA Capa gave me the opportunity to see the world, immerse myself in Spanish culture, and build a variety of skills that I will carry with me throughout my life.

I attended the language school for one week in May, and looking back, it was much more than just a language course – it was a really great experience. Even before arriving in China, I felt very well prepared and supported by the school. They provided me with lots of useful information and helpful tips for my trip and stay, and there was always someone available via WeChat whenever I had questions. Everything was very well organized from the beginning. I chose to stay with a local host family, which turned out to be one of the highlights of my stay. My host family was incredibly welcoming, warm and helpful, and they really made me feel at home from the first day. My classes consisted of a small group session with around 5–6 students, followed by 2–3 hours of private lessons. I really enjoyed both formats and learned a lot, even though I was only there for a week. I especially liked the combination of learning together in a group and then having more intensive one-on-one lessons. The experience outside the classroom was great as well. The group activities were well organized, everyone was very friendly, and newcomers were immediately welcomed and included. It was very easy to meet people and feel part of the group. My only regret is that I stayed for just one week! 😄 I honestly would have loved to stay longer. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and a great combination of learning Chinese, experiencing everyday life in China, and meeting new people. I would definitely do it again – next time, I would just stay much longer!

Studying abroad in Singapore is the best decision I made during my college years. I got to explore my interests and travel to places I've always wanted to go to. I explored Bali, Johor Bahru, Shanghai, Seoul, Jeju, Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Phuket, Danang, and Hanoi. Got to try a lot of yummy food and experience various cultures. The Hawker Centers and other food courts have so much variety and new cuisines to try. Singapore is extremely clean, and people there are kind and respectful in public spaces. They are willing to show up around and invite you to their culture. Being apart of a study abroad program was nice because I got to connect with others in the program. I got to attend the program events and learned more about Singapore. For instance, we went to Gardens by the Bay, Cloud Forest, Oceanarium, Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, and had group lunches/dinners. I really really enjoyed my time there and would love to go back.

I just wrapped up three weeks studying Mandarin at LTL Beijing, and wanted to share my experience, especially since between the homestay and my teacher, it ended up being way better than I expected going in. I did the homestay option, which I'd recommend without hesitation. My host family was genuinely amazing — the food was great every single day, and beyond that, we'd end up having long conversations in the evenings that I really looked forward to. What made it work was that they were good about adjusting how they spoke so I could actually follow along, rather than just talking at normal speed and leaving me lost. That probably did more for my listening and confidence than anything else during the trip. Classes with my teacher, Summer, were the other big highlight. She was just really nice, and the classes were joyful and funny, and full of chances to actually speak rather than just sit and listen. Time genuinely flew by in class, and by the end I'd made amazing progress, way more than I expected in just three weeks. On top of that, everyone at the school was just really nice, which made the whole experience feel welcoming rather than intimidating. If you're weighing whether to study Mandarin in Beijing, I'd genuinely recommend LTL.

I was really nervous about how my first week was gonna turn out, but it's been really fun - I gained a lot of experience and knowledge. Really grateful I got to meet everyone; everyone is super friendly and I love the work environment too.

I recently completed the TEFL online course via the TTA Academy e-learning platform, and it was a wonderful experience. The course structure was well-organized, comprehensive, and easy to navigate at my own pace. The online platform (e-learning) made studying very convenient without compromising on the quality of the content. The modules were clear, practical, and highly informative, giving me the confidence to teach English effectively. When you decide to study Mandarin, you know you are in for hard time. Nihaocafe has taken the worst bite out it by organising thematic lessons with enough vocabulary to get you through a conversation. The APP supporting you features 2 invaluable aids: the vocabulary list with flashcards en the grammar cards. While the teachers each have their distinct teaching methods, their aim is transmitting their knowledge at your pace. Questions are answered patiently making sure you capture properly and when you get completely tangled up, they call for a time out so you can catch your breath again. Feedback is provided on a regular basis and painpoints are picked up in class for reexplanation. Studying with Nihaocafe is a pleasure. (But it does remain a difficult language 😁)

My time in Kenya was amazing. The most beautiful moments were the time with the children. One meaningful moment was the time when I came back from town and the children ran to you with a bright smile. Their joy and energy surprised me every day and made me feel welcome all the time. This experience pushed me out of my comfort zone and will stay with me forever. I'm thankful for the amazing people and the support of everyone. I already miss the children and the kindness from everyone. It was an opportunity to connect with great people and learn about a different culture. Kenya will always have a special place in my heart.

I actually did the 168 hour course and not the 120 advertised here. Will keep it quick. Material is modern with no old videos, text is clear and easy to read along. There's a narrator for the text but I didn't listen. Certs are clean and look nice. I felt like I got good value from it.

Ah yeah my dear Osaka! You brought me so much fun in the sun with these lovely people at Meiji. My time was short but nevertheless my nights going out were long. Japanese learning still feels like a hangover that never completely recovers but due to Meiji's magic teachers it felt at least enjoyable for the past two weeks :) Hope my time with you guys won't be the last and yes, next time Osaka again. Ookinii!

This summer I joined Green Building Solutions (GBS) in Vienna, and it turned out to be one of the best learning experiences I've had. The topics that stayed with me most were energy modeling, life cycle assessment, and parametric design with Grasshopper and Ladybug. I work with LCA every day in certification projects, so going deeper into the method with people who teach and practice it was exactly what I was hoping for. The site visits were a real highlight. We walked through actual projects and had honest conversations with the people behind them, which no textbook or software tutorial can give you. The organizers made everything easy. The accommodation was great, everything ran on time, and the evening sports were a nice way to get to know the group. Thank you to the GBS team and everyone I met there. I'm bringing a lot of this back to my work in Cairo.

Hi, my name is Luke, I am from New York, USA. I currently attend New York Institute of Technology. I chose to intern abroad in Athens because I wanted to spend some time away from home, see what it’s like to intern abroad, and because I don’t have the roommate experience back at college. I assumed it would be nice to live with people who are around my age who have the same interests as me and also to get to travel, which I haven’t done much in my life. So, my overall experience throughout my internship was very positive. I got to spend two weeks in surgery, which was very cool. I got to see tons of orthopedic surgeries, which is where my interests lie, and I am currently finishing my rotations which has been very cool. I got to see tons of things. I saw the blood lab yesterday, I saw dialysis today. Athens is very cool. Tons of food I got to try. So much history to be learned. Many places I got to see, like the Acropolis. I’ve seen Santorini—that was a cool island. I got to see the Olympic Stadium, that was very cool. I still have yet to visit the Acropolis Museum, which I plan to visit tomorrow. My favorite food to try here was the gyros. It was very good. The souvlaki was also very good. The coordination with Cerca Abroad was also very well put together. Everyone was on top of everything. Whenever I have had any concerns, they addressed them; they were right on top of them and made sure to take care of them. Nothing bad to say about it.

My name is Katerina and I am a student from Ontario, Canada. I chose the medical internship simply because I wanted to learn more about all the different parts and workings of the hospital as well as different positions in healthcare. I’ve really loved my time at the hospital, especially shadowing a surgery. I got to see a lot of very interesting procedures and I got to learn a lot. The doctors were excellent teachers. So, it’s very interesting and informative. Coordination-wise it was very clear, communicated amazingly. They were awesome at accommodating me and my needs, which was also very nice. Athens overall was awesome. It’s such a cool city. The people are so sweet and so nice. They love to see people from abroad. It was a great time.

My experience in the Galápagos was definitely one of the best of my life for several reasons. I lived with a family, which allowed me to share in their daily life and learn about their eating habits. By working on farms, I was able to understand the challenges the archipelago faces with its agriculture (especially the lack of fresh water) and see how they are addressing them! I also spent a lot of time exploring Santa Cruz and other islands with their magnificent landscapes and unique wildlife. it was incredible for me to move around the island and randomly encounter a giant tortoise or groups of marine iguanas. I am grateful to everyone I met there for being so welcoming; it’s an experience I highly recommend!

When I first started I was a bit afraid since this is my first online course ever. It was surprisingly clear and well put. Doing lessons on my time and anywhere I want is a great benefit which made the lessons quite easier because I was able change my pace depending on the time and energy I had. When I had big projects I didn't touch the course for weeks, and when I was free again I used my free time to study as much as I want. If this was a traditional teaching system it wouldn't be this enjoyable.

My course was a good mixof revision for grammar and language that I have known already from my school and also many useful informations about how I can teach the language to others. It is a clean website and has many extra bonus learning resources.

Working at the dog shelter was such a rewarding experience. Being able to help with construction and renovation projects while also spending time around the dogs made the experience even more special. I really enjoyed being hands-on, learning new things, and seeing the difference our work made for the shelter and the animals.

When was I planning for my next 40 years wanted to embark on a multicultural adventure that would bring me new sights, smells and experiences. After 2 weeks of consulting with other outfit programs decided to enroll in the Maximo volunteer, Spanish immersion, and mini adventure program. I had limited time to maximize my journey, and was a bit overwhelmed. After communicating with Travis and his onboarding team i was confident that i chose the right outfit for my personal journey. Their team made it very easy to customize my experience and answered all my questions with details and confirmations. I was very excited to embark on this adventure. This was my first solo international adventure and the Maximo team had the experience i wanted to work with. After landing in Cusco, i was taken care of by their travel team and taken straight to my guest house. after that i was invited to meet with Gabby (the big cheese) and got to see the international office while meeting the remainder of their team of 50. i was welcomed with open arms and introduced to Reese, the field manager who met with my for an hour to discuss the plan of action for the next two weeks. after that meeting i was excited to start my journey. I could go on and on about the client services and attention to detail that this team provided to me, and i am forever grateful to have been apart of a program that cares for its clients, community and the overall contribution to the world. My 2028 goal is to become TEFL certified and will be using MAXIMO NIVEL for that next adventure. ¨To realize ones destiny is a persons only obligation!¨
