Intensive Chinese Group Class in 5 Cities | That's Mandarin

I really enjoy my time studying at That’s Mandarin. The campus is bright, modern and well‑maintained, with comfortable classrooms and a nice common area to relax between classes. It creates a really pleasant atmosphere for learning. I’ve made clear progress in my Mandarin over these weeks. Teachers are patient and focus on practical speaking skills, so I feel much more confident using Chinese in daily life. The whole team is friendly and supportive. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to learn Mandarin in a great environment!

High quality teaching is on offer, but it’s not consistent. One of our teachers doesn’t have good enough English to teach at a complete beginner level, as she doesn’t understand questions or explain things properly. Additionally, there’s limited flexibility with moving your lessons and/or switching to one-on-one on occasion, which is surprising given the cost of the course. Additionally, the school offers little opportunity for cultural immersion or group activity, and what it does offer is expensive.

This school was a real treasure to find! 🙌 And I’m happy to say I’ve had a lovely first experience with “That’s Mandarin!” 🥰 Right from the start they sent me marked location photos, making the school easy to find. My first lesson was great; the teachers are exceptionally patient, friendly, and encouraged me to speak—which made organizing my thoughts in Chinese feel much more natural. Their learning material matches daily life Chinese, with common phrasing and realistic usage—which for me personally, was a big relief, because learning textbook Chinese and sounding like a robot was one of my biggest fears. 😢🙏 The classrooms are modern, clean and perform well with their platform (nihaocafe.com). They setup my account for me and even uploaded materials beforehand, so I could have an easy start into my first lesson. Over five days, I took 10 classes with two different teachers. Rotating teachers was a surprisingly good detail that made it a lot easier for my ear to adapt to various speaking speeds and accents. Their online classes are just as smooth, connecting through their platform was easy, the connection was strong, and the whiteboard right below the video callmade it easy to follow along. The lessons center on everyday scenarios like ordering food or paying for a taxi, that balance listening and reading comprehension really well. Afterwards, you can easily review, and even preview for your next class, but also track your word count—which really encouraged me to learn more, because that score increases a good amount after each lesson.😊 The school and its teachers encourage a warm, home- like atmosphere, and I met some really nice people from all over the world during the breaks and after class, who learned Chinese just like me. “That’s mandarin” also hosts fun little events like playing games and having lunch together which makes the place really feel like home.💖 Highly recommended!😘

I really enjoyed my time at that's mandarin! My teachers Yan laoshi and Wan laoshi were the best, kindest teachers. The people you meet at the school were all very lovely and we participated in many cultural activities at the school, like Mahjong night, singing and qing hua ci. Thank you for all the best staff and people for making my summer unforgettable.

I had a great time at the Shanghai location, the teachers were extremely helpful, giving us lots of opportunities to practice our speaking. All the staff were very helpful, and responded quickly to my requests. Would definitely recommend!

I've really enjoyed learning Chinese over these four weeks. I've learned many new words and I'm remembering more and more vocabulary. This school is really great. My teachers teach very well, and my classmates are very friendly. Shanghai is a very interesting city. After class, I often go out with my classmates to explore and try Shanghai's local food. We also went to Suzhou and Hangzhou, and we had a great time. Thank you to all the teachers for your help over these four weeks! I hope I can come back in the future to continue learning Chinese. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with That's Mandarin! The school environment is very welcoming; regardless of language level and skill, every student is encouraged to interact with others to practice their Mandarin and make friends. The teachers are exceptionally mindful of class pace and difficulty, and make sure that every student has understood the unit before moving on. As classes are not too big, every lesson feels personalized, and language improvement is rapid. The class coordinators are very attentive as they check up on students periodically in order to confirm that they are enjoying their stay. Furthermore, they make sure students are not only compatible with their teachers and classmates, but that the topics their classes cover are interesting and of use. All in all, That’s Mandarin is a great Chinese language school for second-language learners who prioritize interaction, engagement, and improvement!

I am very glad that I spent in this school 2 month. If you want to learn chinese language, I would like to reccomend u to choose 2-month course, because my first month I tried to adjust to prounciation and new words. This school is the best decision if you only start to learn Chinese. Also in this school I met so a lor of cool guys from other countries. I am sure that we will continue our relationship.

Learning Mandarin is everything except easy but with That‘ Mandarin school you will get supportive and super friendly teachers，a bunch of international and like minded classmates and the perfect environment to learn this beautiful language. The classes are small enough to give you enough opportunities to speak and practice with your teacher and your classmates. That‘s Mandarin also offers extra activities during the breaks that keep you entertained. I am so happy that I have joined this school and got this experience. Everday practice with easy to follow content, important topics and good examples really improved my language skills and made it so much fun to learn.

I have been learning Chinese at this university for 2 months, and I would say that my oral ability is improved substantially. This school focuses mainly on practicing listening and speaking. If you only want to use Chinese in daily life, I would recommend this school. I think studying 5 times a week is exactly the appropriate amount of frequency. The staffs in this school are really friendly and you are not only going to learn Chinese, but also are going to explore the culture. every week there is an activity related to the culture. I would 100 percent recommend this school.

My four-week intensive Chinese course at That's Mandarin in Chengdu was a thoroughly rewarding experience. I was taught by DaoDao and TangTang, both of whom are not only kind and patient but also highly skilled teachers, and since we were close in age, lessons felt fun and genuinely enjoyable. The school caters to all levels, from beginners to advanced learners, and I really appreciated how structured yet flexible the programme felt throughout. Beyond the classroom, the warm and open student community made it easy to connect with people from around the world, and I'm definitely leaving with several good friends. The entire process—from sign-up to arrival—was handled smoothly by Wu and RuiRui, who were always responsive and helpful. I also love that I can revisit all my lessons anytime via their Nihao Cafe platform, and I'm already planning to continue with their online classes once I'm back in the Netherlands. Mi experiencia en that’s mandarin ha sido incredible. Solo estuve un mes, y siento que he mejorado muchísimo mi capacidad de conversar en chino. Las clases se enfocan más en hablar y escuchar, priorizando lo más precioso que regala una lengua: formar conexiones con gente de culturas distintas y poder navegar tu vida en un lugar completamente distinto de lo tuyo. Las clases son pequeñas, haciendo que los profesores dediquen amplio tiempo con cada estudiante. Algo inolvidable de mi experiencia ha sido mi ayuda afuera de los cursos - cualquier problema o duda que tuve en China fue resuelto por los profesores cariñosos y dedicados. Recomiendo muchísimo that’s Mandarin. 😊

I went to Thats mandarin for about a month and had a great time. All the teachers were really sweet and just generally great help regarding any topic. We did some fun activities outside of school too and I met some great people. xin laoshi was my favorite. She was super sweet and a great teacher in general. Would highly recommend coming here and studying with the different teachers. They were all really friendly and helpful and my chinese definitely improved!!
