My favorite aspect of this program is to allow me to work and play a sport internationally, and explore new things in New Zealand. I really like the work-life balance. It is worthwhile to learn and break through obstacles by doing realistic work. I received a few key areas that benefit and teach me in research skills: governance, administration, and performance. Having research skills including governance, administration, and performance, I can obtain and enhance my marketability to any employer, not just it, but allow me to view different dimensions from a low administrative level to an authoritative level. Additionally, I joined the club and played rugby. It makes so much sense what I learn from my internship.

My Marketing & Communications internship in Tokyo (Japan) was one of my most rewarding experiences for my professional and academic journey. What I enjoyed the most was the opportunity to fully immerse myself in a new culture that I became deeply fond of while working alongside professionals who supported me in my career aspirations by giving me the independence and challenge to develop and lead work initiatives. This experience also allowed me to observe Japanese culture and develop an appreciation and understanding for their work ethic and respect that I will continue to implement in my future projects and in my personal life. Most importantly, this internship helped me confirm my love for traveling and my future career in international marketing.

I'm a current intern placed in Cusco, Peru through IVHQ, doing marketing and communications with a local organization. The process from application to arrival was clear and well organized, and the support has been genuinely responsive. When I've reached out, I've had the best experience with REAL people replying fast and actually being helpful. The placement itself has been the highlight: meaningful work, a great host organization, and an experience that's pushed my Spanish from conversational to fluent. If you're a student considering an internship abroad in Latin America, this is a legitimate and well run way to do it.

I truly wish I had spent the full 12 weeks in Ireland rather than only four. However, within that short time, I tried to fully immerse myself into the experience as much as possible. One of the things I appreciated most was that my internship was genuinely hands-on rather than simply shadowing someone the entire time. I was trusted with real responsibilities, projects, and problem-solving opportunities that allowed me to grow professionally and personally in ways I honestly did not expect. Before arriving, I had fears and uncertainties about whether I would be capable enough, experienced enough, or even if my age would affect how I fit into the program. Those fears quickly faded once I became immersed in the experience itself. This internship challenged me to adapt to unfamiliar environments, problem-solve independently, communicate within a new culture, and gain confidence in my own abilities. I was able to work on projects involving social media, marketing strategy, Google Ads troubleshooting, tourism promotion, and organizational systems while also learning more about Irish culture, history, and daily life. Personally, the experience had an even greater impact on me than I expected. Living abroad helped me become more independent, adaptable, confident, and willing to step outside of my comfort zone. It also deeply inspired me creatively as a writer and future author by exposing me to new places, stories, perspectives, and experiences. I am incredibly grateful that I took the leap and participated in the program despite my initial fears and uncertainties. It became one of the most impactful experiences of my life so far. If I were to offer one area of constructive feedback, it would be encouraging more visible student testimonials, experiences, and promotional content surrounding the program itself. Before applying, it was sometimes difficult to find detailed firsthand experiences or examples from previous participants, which initially made the program feel harder to fully research and trust from the outside looking in. Because of that, I think encouraging more students to share their internship experiences publicly through testimonials, videos, social media content, or alumni stories could greatly help future participants feel more confident and reassured during the decision-making process. Now having completed the program myself, I absolutely would recommend it to others and plan to share my own experience as well. I am genuinely grateful that I took the leap despite my initial hesitation, because it became one of the most impactful and transformative experiences of my life so far.

My Business Development internship in Japan was an incredibly rewarding experience. I really enjoy the work I’m doing in my internship, as it aligns well with my academic background and the direction I’d like to pursue in the future. I have learned how to read and interpret solar system drawings, deploy wireless communication systems, and integrate them effectively with solar PV systems. One of my favourite aspects of the internship programme at the internship was the opportunity to gain real-world experience in a professional technology services environment. The internship allowed me to observe and participate in the coordination of projects related to AV, IT, and automation systems, which gave me valuable insight into how technology integration companies manage their daily operations. Another aspect I particularly appreciated was learning about the workflow of service coordination. I was able to see how tasks and service requests were created, assigned, and monitored, and how technicians were dispatched to client sites when issues occurred. Observing these processes helped me understand the importance of communication, scheduling, and accurate information management in ensuring that projects and service calls run smoothly. I also enjoyed working with the team and experiencing the collaborative culture within the organisation. Another favourite aspect of the programme was the opportunity to develop professional skills such as communication, organisation, and problem-solving. Through observing meetings, managing records, and assisting with coordination tasks, I gained a better understanding of how business operations function in a real workplace environment. Finally, the internship provided valuable learning about the importance of efficiency in service operations. I was able to identify areas where workflows could be improved, particularly in relation to task management and information flow between systems. This experience helped me connect theoretical knowledge from my studies with practical workplace applications. Overall, the internship programme was a valuable learning experience because it allowed me to develop practical workplace skills, gain industry exposure, and better understand how technology service organisations operate in New Zealand.

The Media & Film Production internship was an excellent experience from start to finish. Through the tasks I have performed and the effort I have put forth, I feel more empowered to succeed in my chosen career field. My homestay family was awesome. My coworkers were engaging and interested in learning more about me, and in teaching me more about Australian culture as well as their own. I came for an internship and made new friends along the way.

I used Internex in 2024 as I wanted to live abroad while also gaining practical work experience. Internex provided the perfect opportunity to move to New Zealand while undertaking an internship. From my first meetings with Chris, he was extremely helpful and made the daunting decision to move abroad feel much easier and manageable. I started my internship in August 2024 with a social work organisation working with women and children. I felt fully supported by the team and began shadowing their work right away. After a couple of months, I was very excited to be given the opportunity of a job with the organisation. This meant extending my time in New Zealand, which I was very grateful for. My job involved conducting home visits with families across Auckland who needed emotional and practical support. I felt privileged to be working alongside great social workers, and I gained experience from observing their practice. This experience I was able to gain, helped me find employment in the area I was interested in when I came home in May 2025. I was also assigned a wonderful homestay by Internex. My homestay made me feel so welcome and contributed to making my time in New Zealand so great. I am grateful to Internex for providing this homestay as having a safe place to stay was very important to me. Overall, I had an amazing time living and working in New Zealand and I am so thankful for the team at Internex for making it possible! My favourite aspects of the programme was its working environment and very supportive and friendly staff and owner. They provided me with everything I wanted to learn and know. I was granted limited access to their system for more understanding of their business segments. Overall, the internship provided an excellent balance of learning, professional development, and teamwork. skills you have learnt. This internship has been an invaluable learning experience that has enhanced both my professional and personal development. I have gained a deeper understanding of financial operations, data analysis, and business decision-making within a real corporate environment. I have also developed key skills including analytical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication. Additionally, working in a dynamic media company has improved my adaptability, time management, and ability to work under deadlines. Through this program I was able to gain valuable professional experience in working within the non-profit sector. Internex was able to pair me with an internship experience that was truly worthwhile and fulfilling. They also provided excellent support in navigating New Zealand and especially Auckland, where my internship was placed. Throughout the experience Internex was super supportive and available for any questions or concerns that may arise during that time and even before I arrived to make sure that the transition would be successful. Living in New Zealand has been a deeply rewarding experience; one that offered not just professional development, but a true sense of connection. Internex placed me at a government-affiliated training institution where I contributed to projects in digital learning and assessment design. Outside of work, I chose a homestay with a kind and welcoming couple who made me feel like part of the family. Their generosity and warmth created a home away from home and gave me a deeper appreciation for Kiwi hospitality. Renting a car made weekend adventures easy, and the balance between professional engagement and personal exploration was just right. This experience reminded me how energising it is to live in a new environment, and how much growth comes from feeling both challenged and cared for.

From the beginning of my internship, I was given all the details and information I needed to ensure I was fit for this internship and confident throughout. I was given help as and when needed by Veronica from the smallest details to connecting me with other students. Travelling to the Middle East was an entirely new and transformative experience for me. Having never travelled alone, this represented a significant step in my personal development. The most valuable aspect of my internship was the opportunity to engage with people across Amman. Another unforgettable moment was visiting Petra, one of the wonders of the world. The breathtaking views and historical magnificence and I had never seen anything like this before. One of the most significant skills I developed was communication. Prior to this internship, I felt hesitant about interacting with new people and sharing accommodation with strangers. However, as the weeks progressed, these concerns transformed into strengths, and I built numerous friendships that have lasted beyond my return. At my placement I gained substantial practical knowledge and skills crucial to my career path. The work environment was dynamic and motivating, filled with highly skilled professionals from whom I learned a great deal. I encountered several challenges, particularly at the beginning, including feelings of homesickness and anxiety about living with unfamiliar people. However, through open communication and building relationships, I gradually became more comfortable and confident. Overall, this internship has been an essential component of my academic and professional journey. It has equipped me with invaluable knowledge, practical skills, and personal growth that I am confident will benefit me as I continue to build my career and navigate future challenges.
