I had a great experience with AIP! They were very helpful, professional, and supportive throughout the whole process of finding my company placement in Asia and after as well. The communication was smooth, and they made the process much easier and less stressful. Thanks to AIP, I was able to find an amazing opportunity that matched what I was looking for. It definitely depends on the company you get but they found a great one for me with many other interns which made my stay a lot more fun. I would definitely recommend AIP to anyone looking for an international internship or professional experience abroad!

I underwent a two month Internship as a software development intern at a Startup in Osaka, Japan. I really liked the company as I was able to do my part of the project independently, while also coordinating the overall progress with the other interns. My boss was very open to the ideas and opinions of all interns. He had a vague vision of what he wanted at the end, but the process of getting there was entirely left to us interns and I was also able to add some of my own ideas to the project. I also had a lot of time to explore Japan on the weekends, I traveld around in the Kansai region and even went to Tokio. I enjoyed getting to know Japans culture and food, while also gaining work experience.

My internship experience was extremely positive and gave me the opportunity to apply my Data Science and Machine Learning skills to real-world problems and projects. I had the chance to work alongside a talented and supportive team, from whom I learned a lot both technically and professionally. Throughout the internship, I was able to deepen my knowledge, improve my practical skills, and contribute to meaningful projects with a real impact. It was a valuable learning experience that helped me grow significantly and gave me a better understanding of how Machine Learning is applied in a professional environment. Overall, I am very grateful for the experience and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an internship where they can learn, contribute, and grow professionally.

My experience in Thailand has been so fun! I got to see a lot of the major temples and sites that are a must visit. I made many friends with the other interns here. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. They helped me with any questions I had or anything in general. Overall my experience was amazing, 10/10 would recommend to anyone on the fence about it! I would even come back if I could!

My stay in Japan for three months over the summer was super fun. I was able to learn a lot from my internship while also being able to explore Japan for all that it has to offer. My apartment was in convenient places located near Shibuya and Shinjuku.

The Marketing & Communications internship in Sydney gave me the real life experience which I can tie closely to my studies, and this has helped me understand different topics more easily. The internship also gave me the practical experience I needed to help boost my CV (resume) for my later career, and better prepare me for my future. I enjoyed meeting many people from different cultures a lot. My host family accommodation was amazing; I couldn’t have asked for better.

I did my internship in Japan during the summer. It was a bit difficult to find a company related to my area, but AIP made it possible and helped me find a good place. I had a really good experience and learned a lot from working in a different environment and living in another country. I would definitely recommend a program like this if you have the chance. I can’t say enough good things about this study abroad internship program in Japan. From day one, the support team went above and beyond — helping with everything from housing logistics to navigating cultural norms at the workplace, to just checking in to see how I was adjusting. Whenever I hit a snag (and there were a few, since everything was so new!), someone was always just a message away with real, helpful guidance. Working abroad completely shifted how I see the world and myself. Culturally, I learned to appreciate the nuance in Japanese communication styles — the emphasis on harmony, indirectness, and reading context that isn’t always spelled out. It pushed me to be more observant and adaptable in ways I didn’t expect. Professionally, it was just as transformative. I picked up a whole new appreciation for structure, teamwork, and attention to detail in a Japanese work environment, and it’s changed how I approach collaboration and problem-solving even now that I’m back home. I had a great experience with AIP! They were very helpful throughout the entire process of my internship in Tokyo and guided me every step of the way. During my time abroad, they also frequently checked up on me to make sure everything was going smoothly!

Had a great experience overall. I got to work on a lot of different projects that helped me learn and build new skills. Outside of work, I explored Tokyo, experienced the culture, and met some great people. If I had one suggestion, it’d be to have more events where interns can get to know each other. My internship in Taiwan was honestly one of the most meaningful and enjoyable experiences I have had. At the start, I was a little nervous because I was working in a new environment and had to adjust to a different culture and way of communicating. However, my colleagues at my company were very welcoming, patient, and willing to guide me. Through working with them, I learned a lot about teamwork, communication, responsibility, and how to adapt when things do not always go according to plan. Besides gaining useful work experience, I also had the chance to make many new friends. Spending time with both locals and other interns made the whole journey much more memorable. The most memorable for me was the trip to Fulong Bay where I cycled with the other AIP interns. We shared meals, explored different places, helped one another, and created many good memories together. These friendships were definitely one of the best parts of the internship. I also really appreciated being able to experience Taiwan beyond the usual city attractions. Travelling to Taitung allowed me to see a quieter and more local side of Taiwan, including its natural scenery, small towns, food, and everyday lifestyle. It helped me understand the culture in a deeper way instead of only seeing Taiwan as a tourist. Overall, this internship helped me grow both professionally and personally. I became more independent, confident, and comfortable with adapting to unfamiliar situations. I am very grateful for the people I met, the lessons I learned, and the experiences I gained during my time in Taiwan

My 10-week internship in Taiwan through the Asia Internship Program was an unforgettable and meaningful experience. From the application and company placement process to the pre-departure arrangements and my time in Taiwan, the AIP team, especially Nisha and Roro, was responsive, supportive, and helpful whenever I had questions. The internship gave me the opportunity to experience a real international working environment, apply the knowledge I gained in university, and develop both technical and professional skills. Working in a Chinese-speaking workplace was challenging at times, but it also encouraged me to improve my communication skills, adapt to a different environment, and become more independent. Outside of work, living in Taiwan allowed me to experience a new culture, explore the country, and meet people from different backgrounds. I am grateful for the opportunity and would highly recommend AIP to students who are looking to gain overseas work experience, broaden their perspectives, and challenge themselves both personally and professionally.
