NGO Internship in Tokyo
March 09, 2026by: Grace Ferrari Callaghan - United KingdomThe internship I completed in Tokyo was fantastic! Thanks to the Intern Group and all their support and provisions, I was able to undertake an engaging and fulfilling internship within one of the most beautiful and vibrant cities in the world. The Intern Group were extremely skilled at analysing my resume, as based on my strengths, they suitably paired me with the NGO Seibo Japan, where I was able to grow and develop my skills and interests in marketing and fundraising. I would highly recommend taking part in an Internship with The Intern Group, and I can't wait until I return to Japan!
DO IT
January 12, 2026by: Joshua Yamane - United StatesThis was one of the most transformative experiences I've ever had. I have always wanted to study abroad at university, but due to my circumstances, I was never able to. After graduation, I wanted to gain work experience, and I discovered The Intern Group. This was the perfect opportunity for professional development and an overseas experience. The work that I was doing led me to some pretty cool places, and I got to meet a lot of interesting and unique personalities. If you're considering something like this, I would tell you to do it. Keep in mind that it's what you make of it, and that can make your experience 10/10 or 0/10. The resources are provided for you to grow and learn, so go make the most of your time!
2025 Tokyo Internship Through TIG
October 15, 2025by: Andrew Fitzgerald - United StatesIn Summer 2025 I completed an 8 week internship in Tokyo through The Intern Group. They were very helpful with the placement and I feel like they really listened to my thoughts on finding the right place for me. I ended up interning for an amazing company in central Tokyo and met some great people. I also really appreciate the scheduled meetups and excursions around Tokyo outside of my internship that were planned and operated by the TIG experience coordination team in Tokyo. It really helped me to meet other people in the same situation as me and I made some great friends and memories. Overall my experience with The Intern Group was amazing and exceeded my expectations.
Thank you for sharing your experience, Andrew! We’re thrilled your Tokyo internship exceeded expectations and that you enjoyed the placement, events, and new friendships. So glad you had an amazing time and we can't wait to see what you do next!
A life-changing experience in Tokyo!
December 02, 2024by: Roberto Ken Martina - ItalyThe Intern Group is an excellent stepping stone for young people who want to gain work experience in a new country. Thanks to the super kind and helpful TIG team, my experience in Tokyo was positive, motivating, fun, and above all, it gave me a clearer idea of the next steps toward my future. It’s not just a work experience but, above all, a life experience. The only downside of this experience is that once it’s over, you won’t want to go back home :)
Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience in Tokyo, Roberto! We're thrilled you enjoyed your experience so much and feel clear about your future. It's also wonderful to hear our staff were kind and helpful. Good luck with all you do next, Roberto!
A supported journey into the Japanese work force.
July 24, 2024by: Ken Adachi-Bartholomay - United StatesMy internship was a 6 month program in a non-TIG accommodation. The advisors were down to earth people, always available, and very helpful. My internship was an IT based one. I really enjoyed the company I worked at. All of my coworkers were very accommodating and I had a healthy work-life balance. Outside of the internship, there were many events that TIG hosted, including welcome parties for new Interns once or twice a month, going to landmarks in and around Tokyo, and outings to the nearby Kanagawa prefecture. I got along well with my fellow interns within the program and we also organized doing our own explorations of Tokyo. My only complaint is that the program fees are a little expensive, but if money is no a problem, I would whole-heartedly recommend this program to anyone looking to gain work experience in Tokyo or broaden their international perspective.
Thank you for leaving a review of your experience in Tokyo, Ken! It's great to hear that you had a fantastic time at your internship and enjoyed the trips too! We are sorry to hear you felt our programs were over-priced - we regularly review our program fees to ensure that they in line with the industry and we are able to continue providing the comprehensive program inclusions and high levels of customer experience that we are known for. It's lovely to hear that you would recommend the program and we wish you the best of luck for your future career - we can't wait to see where it takes you!
Best Summer in Tokyo
July 23, 2024by: Ella Bjerre - DenmarkI loved spending 8 weeks in Tokyo and could not have asked for a better internship. I interned for a consulting company and learned so much in the span of two months. I also loved all of the day trips and excursions planned through the intern group like visiting Kamakura and Mt. Fuji! For anyone considering this program just know that you will be able to experience so many cool things while having the support you need to be successful both personally and professionally!
Thank you for reviewing your time in Tokyo with us, Ella! We're so glad you had an amazing time with your company and at all the excursions, too. We're wishing you all the best for your future!

I had the time of my life in Tokyo Japan!
May 09, 2024by: F H - SingaporeChoosing the Location Applied in Jan 2024 to The Intern Group's 6-week Tokyo program that began in April 2024. Initially took a week to decide which location I would go to but after that, the decision making process was done quite fast including deciding to withdraw my interest for the first job offer hoping that, the next offer would better suit what I would like to learn. I would say, go for a bigger company if you are undecided and would like to enjoy perks that could include free snacks, more clubbing, more drinking sessions etc. Choose a small company (less than 5) if you are certain on what skill set to learn and can see yourself implementing your ideas at, independently. While in Tokyo Erika has been my main go-to coordinator and she has done a superb job at organising weekly meetups, checking in on us via text or having one-on-one dates and being the best guide around Tokyo! Many occasions, she'd be the link between us interns and the locals and I truly find her a lifesaver. Wouldn't have been able to order my favourite orange juice without her! I hope future interns will get to meet someone like Erika when they are miles away from home. Wrapping Up and Future Plans I wish I could stay in Tokyo for longer. It is my last week here and I am wrapping up my project and applying to full time roles in Japan and back home. I will remember the connections that I've made and the skills I've gained which will continue to shape my career.
Hey there, thank you so much for sharing your experience in Tokyo! We are thrilled to hear that Erica has been such a positive influence in your journey. Looking forward to seeing where your career takes you!

I did something I always wanted to do
April 11, 2024by: Jack Innis - CanadaI finally got to try working in a new country. On top of that, I got to experience Japan in great detail and try unique things I wouldn't otherwise do as a regular tourist. I also got to meet a lot of people trough my sharehouse and through the organized meet ups and excursions.
Thanks Jack for sharing your thoughts! We are glad that your time doing an international internship in Japan has been such a unique experience!
6 Weeks Internship Program in Tokyo
March 01, 2024by: Endah Sri Wahyuni - IndonesiaThe TIG Tokyo Team was amazing. In this particular I’d like to note about ERICA. I think she went above and beyond. She was very organised, approachable and always responded our queries in timely manner. The programme was well organised and full of activities to enrich our experiences. The communication pack about everything we need to know in Tokyo was very helpful. I felt that I was well equipped to go on my journey in the internship in Tokyo, Japan. Alisha was helpful too and did her best to assist. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Japan and gained a lot of insights around the business, culture and strategy. Thanks Erica and Alisha for all your help. All the best for your future.
Thank you Endah for sharing your experience! We are glad that you have had an enriching experience and we look forward to seeing where your career takes you.

February 20, 2024by: Christal Monk - New ZealandABSOLUTELY the best lifetime experience that I will ALWAYS remember and cherish. Erika has made this journey so memorable and ensured we were well looked after from as soon as we landed to keeping us warm and experiencing the BEST that Tokyo has to offer in such a short timeframe. Cherished memories for the rest of my life, Erika...THANK YOU!!!

Far exceeded all expectations!
February 13, 2024by: Jan Donia - New ZealandFar exceeded all expectations!! By far the best part of this internship/experience was all the amazing people and activities. I never considered the level of detail or organisation that the excursions would have. Then of course I met a lot of wonderful people from all around the world, some of these people I’m sure I will keep in touch with! This truly changed my overall experience for the better. The internship was well organised and my host company was very accommodating, plus I learned a lot along the way!
Thank you Jan for sharing your experience! We are glad that you have had an enriching experience and we look forward to seeing where your career takes you.

Living and working in Tokyo
February 12, 2024by: Mitchell Evans - New ZealandRight from the go I was blown away by the vastness of Tokyo. Every light grabs your attention and you can’t help but be amazed by it all. The intern group programme offered me an opportunity to quickly meet new people and experience Tokyo with others. This made the whole experience much less stressful and more enjoyable. It is so easy to immerse yourself in the culture, and you’ll never run out of activities to do. Working in Tokyo was great I didn’t have any issues and I really enjoyed my job. I got the opportunity to go snowboarding in Hakuba which was really fun.
Thank you Mitchell for sharing your experience! We are glad that you have had an enriching experience and we look forward to seeing where your career takes you.

My experience Tokyo 2024
February 11, 2024by: Jose Andres Estrada - MexicoThe experience I had during my six-month internship was terrific, satisfying, fun, and in my opinion it is undoubtedly highly recommended. Moreover, I believe this is essential before professional life, thus I am grateful to have had this opportunity. This internship is well designed and there were always activities that allowed me to meet new interns and visit new places. Therefore, It is great for a network expansion, friendships and traveling.
Thank you Jose for sharing your experience! We are glad that you have had an enriching experience and we look forward to seeing where your career takes you.

Tokyo Sukii
December 11, 2023by: Martina Dalli Cardillo - ItalyI had one of the best experiences of living abroad, I loved Tokyo even though I am not used to live in big cities. When I first came here k was a bit scared of the cultural impact because I don’t speak Japanese and a lot of people here are not used to speak English, but fortunately we had one of the best coordinator Erika. She is one of a kind, and she makes us feel confident and comfortable by giving us any type of advice and watching our back. I strongly recommend to do this type of adventure because I think you ‘ll be back home with a totally different attitude and mindset.
Thank you Martina for sharing your experience! We are glad that you have had an enriching experience and we look forward to seeing where your career takes you.

I've met lots of lovely people and have really enjoyed this unique opportunity to experience a different culture while also gaining work experience. Coming to Tokyo has been one of best decisions I've made!
Thank you Francesca for sharing your experience! We are glad that you have had an enriching experience and we look forward to seeing where your career takes you.
Beautiful place with beautiful people
December 01, 2023by: Natalia Zago - ItalyI had the opportunity to do the internship in Tokyo and it was the best choice that I made. My work placement was good and the people that i work with are really special and super flexible. I was really lucky. Erika, the coordinator of the program, is always available, super kind and professional. She helps you with everything you need at every time. Happy to had the chance to meet her! This internship was one of the most beautiful experience I had to far.
Thank you Natalia for sharing your experience! We are glad that you have had an enriching experience and we look forward to seeing where your career takes you.
Opportunity of a lifetime
October 28, 2023by: David Corley - United StatesThe Tokyo team took great care of me and my fellow interns. This was an amazing experience and it has surely sparked a passion within me to be a leader and find my way back to Japan and possibly see many other parts of the world.
Thank you for sharing your experience! We are glad that you have had an enriching experience and we look forward to seeing where your career takes you, David
Unforgettable experience in Tokyo
June 29, 2023by: Fabio Radaelli - ItalyThis is my experience in Tokyo Program. Really recommend if you, like I was, are looking for a international experience. Fast and easy to apply, within 3 months everything was scheduled for my program. The TIG team in Tokyo is great, especially the experience coordinator Erika. Professional and easy going person, always ready to help if issues happen. I have been lucky beyond measure having a person like her to my side during the experience. I hope you will be lucky enough to have her as your coordinator too... I had some misunderstandings during my the placement with the internarional team at the beginning of the process (that's the only reason I could not assign a 10/10) but no big deal. I strongly recommend to have an internship longer than 3 months so you can have a working visa. Of course there are things that can be managed better, but for what concerns the overall experience in Tokyo is a 100/100. Thanks again, Erika
Thank you for sharing your candid experience! We are glad that you have had an enriching experience overall and we look forward to seeing where your career takes you, Fabio
