The Beauty in Traveling and going Forth with Opportunities
July 31, 2026by: Zariyah Soto - United StatesAs my first study abroad traveling opportunity it was such a beautiful experience. Having been able to do it with TOCA was wholesome. They are so accommodating + welcoming with any concerns! Grateful!

A Wonderful Experience
July 30, 2026by: Grace De-Souza - United StatesMy first time abroad was through TOCA, and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. My nerves were easily settled by the kind and understanding team that traveled with us. This trip was filled with fun activities along with amazing learning opportunities. From the organized activities to the individually planned hangouts, this trip is something I will never forget. I am extremely grateful I had the chance to experience this, and I hope future students have just as much fun!
Life-changing Experience
July 30, 2026by: Eduardo Perez ariza - United StatesAt the start of the program I was skeptical of going abroad. I heard stories from other students who did TOCA on how it was a life-changing experience. At first I thought it was an over exaggeration. But as time went on during my time in France I realized I began to change wholeheartedly as a person. I started to see the world in a much more colorful way and realized that I had reached a state of nirvana where I felt at peace with myself. Wether it was painting, going out with friends, or even being alone. I felt comfortable in my own skin for the first time in my life. I highly recommend to take the leap of faith and take this opportunity.

Risk
July 30, 2026by: Fatima Salgado - United StatesAt first I was very hesitant on going abroad and meeting new people because I was an introvert I was very to myself until. I took this opportunity because deep down I knew I wouldn’t get the same opportunity again and I don’t regret it I am so thankful of this amazing opportunity. It had brought me to be more social and make new friends that will last. It had made me be more open minded and that it’s okay to take risks or take any opportunity that comes your way because you may never get the same opportunity again.

An amazing time!
July 30, 2026by: Caden Clemmings - United StatesMy experience with TOCA was extremely memorable, and will stay with me for the rest of my life. The staff are so welcoming and kind, and do everything in their power to support every kid that attends the program. Their partnership with the Marchutz School in France provided students with an incredible opportunity to learn and study art, teaching skills that will continue to carry on.
The Immersive weeks of France
July 30, 2026by: Saliou Diop - United StatesThe culture in Aix is unlike any other. Very very immersive and presents a lot to learn. I would love to go back and continue the experience. I loved the people there as they were some of the kindest and most open hearted.
absolutely amazing!!
July 30, 2026by: Anabella Hernandez Lopez - United StatesThis trip has been so eye opening and has been such a core memory. The homestay family that I stayed with was amazing! Additionally, the school was amazing and so kind and helpful! What I was taught here, I can’t learn anywhere else at this age. It’s so astonishing I got to go there for two weeks! It’s been such an amazing time and I definitely recommend. Additionally, they kept my mom informed! Definitely parent and kid friendly alike. Loved the opportunity!

AFS(particularly in France) lacks support for students
July 11, 2026by: Mina Deschamps - United StatesProgram: AFS Intercultural Programs: High School Abroad in France
My time in France was absolutely beautiful, I loved it and I would do it again 100 times, just with a different organization. While I was in France, there was no support for harsh times and host family abuse/toxicity, Many other AFSers who came to france this year have said the same—changing families is insanely difficult because AFS takes the side of the family, leaving a lack of support for the student. On the other hand, I learned so much about myself on this program. I fell in love, I became fluent in French, I have a university program chosen already, this program has really made me fall in love with the world around me, and I will forever be grateful. I just wish AFS was there for me more (Sorry if the wording of this is confusing, i’m still getting used to speaking english) I will forever cherish this time I spent abroad!!!
Learning French and Exploring New Places
January 20, 2026by: Claudia E.Program: CIEE HS Summer Abroad: French Language & Culture in Toulouse

Oui
December 30, 2025by: Mia Palomino - United StatesI had so much fun on this trip abroad and felt that I fulfilled one of my lifelong dreams which was to go and explore France. This was something I never would’ve expected I’d do in high school but its truly an unforgettable experience.
Experience of a lifetime
December 29, 2025by: Saifullah Munir - United StatesMy study abroad experience in France was truly meaningful and unforgettable. After three years of studying French, I was finally able to use the language in real life, which felt very rewarding. Being in an unfamiliar environment allowed me to experience the world independently for the first time and grow more confident. I met new people from different backgrounds and built lasting connections. Painting in astonishing French landscapes was inspiring, and exploring Aix-en-Provence and Marseille helped me appreciate the culture and history. Sailing in the Mediterranean Sea was a highlight that made the experience even more special. I never even dreamed of this opportunity and would forever be thankful to TOCA.
Once in a lifetime opportunity!
December 23, 2025by: Cassidy Luketic - United StatesI had a great time in France. I felt very safe, and The Experiment took so many precautions that I barely worried. The people were amazing, and all the setup for the trip was so helpful. I truly recommend this program to people who want to travel!
Experience of a Lifetime with AFS
December 10, 2025by: Daniela Sojo - United StatesProgram: AFS Intercultural Programs: High School Abroad in France
Studying Abroad was an absolute dream of mine and choosing AFS to accomplish this was the best choice I made. I always felt safe, seen and heard throughout my whole experience even months before and after finishing my experience. Once I let my Family and friends know I was studying abroad with AFS they all had known someone close or distant that had gone abroad with AFS. Now that my experience is over I see how I made the best choice in organization and would do it all over again with AFS. If you are still deciding what organization to go with, let this be your sign to go abroad with AFS no matter the program or duration it will be a family you will always be able to turn back too.

Immersion and Dispersion: TOCA’s Plan for Us.
December 02, 2025by: Talia Beckett - United StatesI entered TOCA as an unexperienced traveler — vaguely aware of french culture through media, such as artist like Cezzane — yet I immediately jumped at the opportunity unknowing of the multiplicity of personal values, cultural experiences, and artistic skills awaiting me. Best. Decision. Ever! From designing cakes in the provincial style in Aix-en-Province’s confectionary breeze to swimming in the bone-chilling Mediterranean ocean… I’ve truly never felt more alive! Of course, this is also because i was surrounded by similarly excited young people of color who weren’t afraid to try new things! And even after the program, we were still provided with ample support towards our goals of being International Learners and Explorers — paired with mentors who have plentiful experience, trips, and wise words of advice under their belt to share. All of this is to say… Merci, TOCA!

A story Shakespeare couldn't write
December 02, 2025by: Stevens Legrand - United StatesMy experience abroad actually starts the week of the day we were set to leave. There was a 3 day orientation in which we learned a lot about team building, but also more inwards focused activities thanks to TOCA's partnership with the Liverpool Foundation. While abroad, we were greeted with a whole host of new sights, smells, and ideas never once to be had in America. Many of us were introduced to a life abroad that we once had no interest in. But the heart of the journey lied in all the staff involved through the journey. The staff really left a resounding impact on the way I look at life and how I look ahead to the future of not only studying abroad, but also TOCA itself.

Best experience ever
August 21, 2025by: Kasper Murat - United StatesThe experiment was the best experience of my life. First off Amy and Danielle were absolutely amazing leaders and extremely easy to talk to and the friends I made in the group were extremely nice as well! Along with this the homestay experience was the most uncomfortable yet rewarding experience yet, I had the time of my life living amongst my host family and was able to see how it is to live in a family that is completely different than mine. I would do this all again if I could!
Truly a once in a lifetime experience!
August 13, 2025by: Cassidy Luketic - United StatesThis experience challenged me to grow, change, and learn more about the world outside of my hometown. It was a wonderful experience, and I will always remeber my time abroad. I couldn’t have done it without the support from the Experiment.
An amazing way to spend my summer
July 31, 2025by: Ben PlattProgram: CIEE HS Summer Abroad: French Language & Culture in Paris
This program was definitely one of the best summer activities I’ve ever done in my life. It’s fun yet intellectually challenging and allows students to comfortably explore new cultures in a safe environment. Overall this was an amazing way to spend my summer and I will be letting all my friends and language teachers know about it.
I could not be more grateful.
July 31, 2025by: Siena ButlerProgram: CIEE HS Summer Abroad: French Language & Culture in Paris
CIEE changed the way I think and feel about the world, and for that I could not be more grateful. I think about current events, the environment, wellness, and education from a different perspective now. My development over the past month has made me wonder how different I would be if I had stayed in the same town for my summer. If someone is looking to expand their perspective of the world, have fun, and improve their language skills, I could not recommend CIEE more!
