Volunteer Programs in Kafue, Zambia

Become a conservation volunteer in Zambia and help collect essential conservation data and protect orphaned elephants gradually released back into the wild as part of our partner’s release program. During your three-week volunteer adventure, you will spend each week in a different location in this fascinating country – from the vibrant capital of Lusaka to the spectacular Kafue National Park. As a volunteer, you will gain insight into the program’s elephant behavioral observation studies, learn about anti-poaching and wildlife rehabilitation, use a range of methodologies to help collect biodiversity data in local national parks, and help with staff capacity building. Moreover, you will have the chance to get involved with different community outreach projects. At the end of your stay, you will have gained an incomparable insight into all three of our partner’s core thematic areas – community outreach, wildlife rescue, and resource protection – to return home with a backpack full of new research skills and unforgettable wildlife memories.
