They also hope to gain skills to develop a business to increase family income or to support their children’s studies. As a volunteer, you will encourage girls to participate in sports. You will also discuss matters like life paths, emotional and social issues, and fundamental topics like sexual and reproductive health, staying safe and rights of girls and women. We have a curriculum in place, and it is evolving in line with the needs of local women and girls. The project is already doing well with developing sewing skills, the establishment of an after-school touch rugby club, and improvement of English levels. We hope that once sessions for women and girls are more established, we can include boys and men. There are many areas within the community where volunteer support is required, including adult literacy and manual work like painting & refurbishing.
