I enjoyed the community-based school!
May 20, 2024by: Ayaka Omori - JapanProgram: Make a Lasting Impact: Teach at a Village School in ZambiaThis school is very community oriented. It's funded by volunteer donations. If you have lots of money, this volunteer is a good choice because the school may ask for donations. Showers and toilets are located outside. It is a pity that there is no hot shower. However, the room are very nice. you have to make your breakfast and dinner as there are no restaurants around. There is a supermarket in town, but it takes about 30 minutes by car. You will enjoy playing with children who live nearby every day, so please visit this school!
Amazing place for a great experience!
May 19, 2024by: Lobke Meijer - NetherlandsProgram: Make a Lasting Impact: Teach at a Village School in ZambiaI've stayed a week at the Simoonga Thandizani Trust School and had a very great time here! Edwin and his team are very warm, kind, wonderful people, who really want to help the children of the village! The atmosphere is very relaxed and warm. The children are also very wonderful, so I would really recommend this place!
Wonderful experience in Simoonga, Zambia!
May 19, 2024by: Mitchell vd Gaag - NetherlandsProgram: Make a Lasting Impact: Teach at a Village School in ZambiaWe really loved our stay at Simoonga Thandizani Trust School! We stayed here for 1 week and didn't know what to expect, but when we arrived Edwin and his team where really kind and helpful with everything! It's a fantastic school where the children of Simoonga and smaller villages around Simoonga can come and get the education they need! I would really recommend to stay at this school and help the children here!

I wanted to see and learn more about the world. It’s very easy to get stuck in your own bubble at home, travelling makes you have to get out of your comfort zone.

What inspired you to travel abroad?
I wanted to see the world and experience different cultures. I knew at some point my travels would lead me to a volunteer opportunity as I felt it was a great way to see real life in a new country and community.
