The education system in Morocco faces significant challenges. Challenges include low daily attendance, teacher absenteeism and low literacy rates. Drop out rate is very high, and only 53% of students enrolled in primary schooling continue onto secondary schools. Access to education and under-resourced schools is at the core of the challenges. There are simply not enough teachers for the number of children. Volunteers strengthen the capacity of teachers and contribute to supporting and caring for vulnerable children in Morocco. It improves the children’s prospects for the future giving them a more solid education. It also gives impoverished children compassion and a sense of hope. Both the volunteers and the locals benefit from this inter-cultural exchange. This is a great project for anyone trying to discover a new culture while learning a new language and helping the local community’s children. You will be exposed to the educational system in Morocco, as well as contribute by assisting local teachers and being a role model for children.

Grenada is a small volcanic island in the Caribbean, known for its beautiful beaches, lush Grand Etang rainforest, and high production of nutmeg—earning it the nickname Island of Spice. It remains one of the most unspoiled islands in the region. Elvira's Garden has two locations in the south of the island, across two of Grenada’s six parishes: St. David’s, where the community centre is based, and St. George’s, home to our bar, restaurant, and office. Our project gives volunteers the chance to experience daily local life in Grenada while making a meaningful contribution to youth development. Volunteers help educate and build social skills among young people at our Youth Centre, learn about local agriculture, and support various community fundraising efforts. Volunteer abroad in Ghana with Our Generation Voluntary Organisation. Our non-profit, non-governmental African organization offers meaningful, exciting, and affordable developmental volunteer programs. These include working with orphans, teaching children in primary and junior high schools, coaching football to children, wildlife work, medical and nursing placements, dental elective, environmental conservation, micro-finance, journalism, and many more. We currently have volunteer, internship, and culture/language immersion programs in many locations around Ghana. Our programs are among the most affordable in the industry, and we work hard to maintain low fees. Adult participants can apply independently. Participants from 15 to 17 years old are welcome to apply, but we need to receive consent from their parents via email or telephone before we can offer them placement on one of our programs. These programs help reduce educational inequality by offering academic and psychosocial support, and by creating safe, nurturing spaces for vulnerable children and youth. Hope Warriors Children’s Charity provides an inspirational learning environment in Soshanguve, where children receive free homework help and academic enrichment. Activities include reading aloud, mental math, and Spelling Bee competitions to build confidence and skills. We encourage children to stay focused on their studies, living out Nelson Mandela’s belief that "Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world." To support learning, we also provide meals and proper clothing, helping children who face hunger and poor nutrition to concentrate better and engage more actively in school life.
