A Lifetime of Adventure in One Semester
September 18, 2026by: Ana Butkus - United StatesStudying abroad in Seville, Spain at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide was the absolute best decision of my life. If I had to sum up my experience, I truly feel like I lived five different lives in just one semester. From day one, the program opened doors to experiences I never thought possible. I was able to fully embrace the vibrant Spanish culture, watch breathtaking flamenco shows right in Seville, taste amazing food, and meet some of the most incredible people. My classes at Pablo de Olavide were challenging, but incredibly rewarding. One of the absolute best perks of the schedule was having no classes on Fridays. That three-day weekend gave my friends and me the freedom to book a flight on a whim, explore six different countries, and immerse ourselves in entirely different cultures. Traveling the world with your friends is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Because of that flexibility, my memories feel endless: - Riding camels through the Sahara Desert - Exploring street markets in London - Eating authentic pasta in Rome - Creating a bond with a group of girls that I know I will have with me for the rest of my life I tasted unforgettable food, grew so much, and created memories that will last forever. If you want a program that challenges you academically while giving you the ultimate freedom to explore the world, this is it. It is an unforgettable experience that stays with you long after you fly home!

An Amazing Experience

Stepping Outside My Comfort Zone Through Study Abroad
September 17, 2026by: Roberto Lozoya - United StatesStudying abroad was one of the most meaningful experiences I have had as a college student. It gave me the opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone, experience a new culture, and meet people from different backgrounds. Being in a new environment challenged me to become more independent, adaptable, and confident in myself. What made the experience especially memorable was being able to learn outside of the classroom. Exploring new places, trying different foods, and experiencing the local culture helped me see the world from a different perspective. I also learned that you don’t have to be completely comfortable or know everything before taking a new opportunity. Sometimes, the best experiences come from putting yourself out there and being willing to try something new. Studying abroad helped me grow both personally and academically, and it gave me memories that I will carry with me long after college. I would encourage other students to take advantage of the opportunity if they can because it is an experience that can truly change the way you see yourself and the world around you.
I was immersed in Spanish Culture, and what I learned was invaluable to my character development!
September 11, 2026by: Charlie Gordon - United StatesI spent 5 weeks in Spain. It was a BLAST! Sevilla and the WorldStrides Sevilla Team exceeded my expectations and helped me to learn so much in such a short amount of time. I traveled almost every weekend, with and without the program. During my time in Sevilla I stayed with a host family who were incredible people, which WorldStrides was able to provide for me. My teachers, the support staff, and everyone who helped me along the way added to the experience immensely.
Spring in Córdoba
September 11, 2026by: Gus Morrill - United StatesProgram: Middlebury School in Spain
I very much enjoyed my time in Córdoba, the program was smaller than other programs in Spain and it felt like we got fairly close pretty quickly. The town was a maneagable size while still having several place to visit. Kim Griffin is one of the kindest and most supportive people to run an abroad program, she was there at every step of the way making sure that we felt supported academically, emotionally, and in general. She drove me to the hospital when I had a minor health concern, she showed us many parts of Córdoba that she had a deep knowledge of, and she hosted us at her house for an end of semester pool party.
Once in a lifetime expierience!
September 09, 2026by: Sofia Zalinger - United StatesI had the privilege to have studied abroad in Sevilla with world strides and had the best semester of my life! The culture in Sevilla was amazing, and World Strides really embedded us in it. The kindness at the office really made me feel at home. Couldn't recommend it enough!
It was wonderful
August 16, 2026by: Abigail Faulkner - United StatesReally enjoyed my time here, wish I could have stayed longer. The only caveat is that the crowd tends to be either rather young (think 16-19) or older (40+) so if you are in the middle of that (I was 22) befriending people may be a bit more awkward, especially with the constantly changing crowd. However, that was not a big problem as I was able to make many great friends outside the program (and some within as well!). Staff were all incredibly informed, helpful, and outgoing and really made the time a blast. The events they offered were plentiful and diverse as well, which was very handy and good for meeting various people. Additionally, the spanish lessons were taught fully in spanish (although staff knows english and helped answer questions in english when people truly didn’t know how to communicate in spanish) which was very good and helped rapidly increase my spanish comprehension and skills.
¡Hola, Abigail! Thank you so much for such a thoughtful review! :) We're so glad you had a wonderful time and even wished you could stay longer — that's the best compliment! We really appreciate you sharing the note about the age gap in the group; it's great feedback for us, and we're glad you still found your people, both in and outside the program. It's also fantastic to hear our staff made things fun while being so helpful, and that the fully immersive Spanish lessons helped your skills grow so quickly — that immersion really pays off! Thanks for choosing Expanish and we hope to see you again soon! ¡Un fuerte abrazo!
Memories that will last a lifetime!
August 01, 2026by: Tanner Lebo - United StatesProgram: USAC Spain: San Sebastián - Spanish Language & Psychology
San Sebastián is a great place to study abroad if you live diverse cultures and languages, great food, great wine and cider, and many more factors. Right in the heart of the Basque Country, it has much to offer. You can go out for a nice night with your friends and have Pintxos and drinks, or visit the nearby towns that hold much cultural significance. No matter what you decide to do, you won’t be disappointed!
Summer abroad.
August 01, 2026by: Madelinn Cassell - United StatesProgram: USAC Spain: Alicante - European & Mediterranean Studies
It was the best time of my life. I was able to learn so much not only from the amazing teachers but also from the welcoming community of Alicante. The field trips were also very fun, and ended with the most beautiful views of the ocean and the city. I am forever grateful for this opportunity and genuinely encourage everyone to study abroad at one point in their college career.

Best summer I have ever had the classes were so fun especially the sailing class ! The best part was all of the new friends I made and being able to travel ever weekend with them and explore Europe! I would do it again if I could !
Lifechanging experience!
July 31, 2026by: Sakinah Ahmed - United StatesBefore embarking on my trip, I was super nervous because it was my first time traveling outside the country on my own. As soon as I landed, I immediately felt at home and ready to explore Seville. I was amazed at how beautiful the plaza de España was and overjoyed that it was a part of my daily commute. From the moment I met all my peers, I knew we would become great friends! I also had an amazing time getting to know the Seville staff as they welcomed us all. The excursions were perfectly planned, but they gave us time to explore cities on our own. I also felt that the academics were easy to manage, but challenging nonetheless. Overall, I was so sad to leave the city behind and the beautiful architecture. I enjoyed sketching the beautiful sights in my free time and trying new cafes!

Life Changing Experience
July 27, 2026by: Rylee Soifer - United StatesProgram: Semester at Sea: Global Study Abroad on a Floating Campus
I graduated from high school a semester early, and the only way I wanted to spend my semester was by being abroad. I've known about Semester at Sea for around 6 years and I wanted to take advantage of this opportunity. I searched up the requirements to be accepted and luckily fit all the requirements most importantly being 18, so immediately I applied. I then got an email back the next morning saying I got accepted into the program and that email brought me to tears in the middle of one of my classes. I couldn't wait to board the MV World Odyssey and embark on this journey of a lifetime. On the ship, I gained so much knowledge about different cultures and I was able to be fully immersed in them, not just sticking to the touristy things offered. Semester at Sea does an amazing job keeping the students' safety in country as a priority with having mandatory “Pre-Port meetings” the night before arriving in a country, and offering field programs which are ship run excursions with ship faculty leading them. The community on the ship was nothing I have ever experienced before. We were so close knit and it felt like I was truly in a connected, caring, and welcoming environment. I met the people I never imagined I'd connect with, and they ended up becoming the best connections I've ever made with people. Semester at Sea also helped me get out of my comfort zone which led me to have experiences I would have never imagined I'd have, best example being running a half marathon in Vigo, Spain even though I'm not a runner and have never been a runner. Semester at Sea has given me the world and the opportunity to appreciate it to its fullest. I left the ship with my passport full, but my heart is even fuller with people, memories, and connections I will forever cherish. Semester at Sea was truly the best experience I have ever had and would recommend it to anyone as it was life changing.

July 24, 2026by: Michael Shehan - United StatesYou know honestly I had a good time. It was a great time. I feel like SSA did a good job with my internship. I had fun and all of the excursions that I went on were a good time. I don’t really know what to say, but I would say overall I had a great time on this trip.

I had a time of my life!
July 24, 2026by: Sophia Mitchell - United StatesI had a great time in Seville. I loved my class and loved learning about the history in Seville and Andalusia. I also enjoyed all my excursions, both in with the center and with the friends I made there.
It was good
July 24, 2026by: Sid Srihari - United StatesI stayed in Sevilla for three weeks as part of the summer high school program, taking an art history class in the center. The class was great, although kind of long it was very interesting and the classes were run very well, with field trips every week to things that we were learning about in class. The environment in the center was also very nice, with everyone wanting to help and all the counselors and professors were great. Activities with the intercambios were also great, the activities every week were cool and fun and well organized like kayaking, mini golf, and amusement park. Only thing that wasn't te best was that there were only two other students in my program and was a little hard to meet friends, but it did happen eventually.
I was so much fun!
July 24, 2026by: Anneliese Mariscal - United StatesI had a really great time being in Sevilla. I was able to meet a lot of great people and make a bunch of new memories. I loved going on the different excursions and beings able to practice my Spanish in and out of the classroom.
Best Time in Sevilla!!
July 24, 2026by: Olivia Glisson - United StatesI had the best experience studying abroad in Sevilla! I learned lots about Spanish culture and language. My class was amazing and I loved my host family! SSA did an amazing job and made me feel very prepared for study abroad!!
Best Decision I've Ever Made!
July 20, 2026by: Sarah Carlson - United StatesProgram: USAC Spain: Alicante - European & Mediterranean Studies
The five weeks that I spent in Alicante were some of the best weeks of my life. The friends I made, the experiences I had, and the things I saw are truly unimaginable. You cannot explain how life changing something like this is until you are there. I was really on the fence about going abroad and I am so incredibly grateful that I made the choice to go. This program is ran wonderfully. I loved my classes, I always felt so supported by our advisors, and we had the most wonderful landlord. If you are even considering going abroad, do it!! I will always have a special place in my heart for Alicante and my time abroad.
Best time ever.
July 16, 2026by: nathan barton - United StatesProgram: USAC Spain: San Sebastián - Spanish Language & Psychology
This was the best summer and possibly expierience I have had in my life. I studied in San sebastian for 2 sessions over the summer and loved it. Met the best people who I can consider my friends for life now while learning so much. I got fully immursed in the culture here while attending so many cool events I never thought I would be able to like participating in the running of the bulls and being in spain to see the spain soccer team make it to the finals in the world cup. I learned how to surf and more importantly speak more fluent in another language. I highly recommend this program!!!
Best experience I could have wished for.
July 16, 2026by: Madelinn Cassell - United StatesProgram: USAC Spain: Alicante - European & Mediterranean Studies
Every person was SO helpful and supportive. Luis and Veronica were amazing and so were the professors. They did a fantastic job with the tours and trips, they were always so fun. There was also just enough time that me and my friends I made were able to explore on our own and experience the holidays and festivals Alicante had to offer.
