INESLE Madrid & Santander - Spanish Immersion Summer Program

The first couple of days were kinda hard to adjust but after that it was pretty cool the whole time, my Spanish is better but it was boring sometimes. I was kinda homesick sometimes but in general it was fun.

The residence is really nice, sometimes the food is a bit not great if you’re not used to it, the language part is good you get a lot better by hearing a lot Spanish the actual classes are really high level they’re mostly the basics to make sure you can have coherent conversation. Overall it was really fun visiting all of the places and hanging out with the others in the program

This study abroad program was really fun. Though the academics were lacking, I still had lots of fun on the excursions and other activities. The level of the classes during the week was too low, and a few of my friends and I didn’t get the opportunity to do something advanced. However, in general, my Spanish has improved in leaps and bounds and I would still recommend this experience to other people!

INESLE was a wonderful program. We were able to explore many different cultural and significant places in Spain. The residence provided nice room service, and adequate facilities. The mini monitors were funny, reliable, and comforting.

I really enjoyed my time in Madrid and I thought it was a great opportunity to improve my Spanish as well as get to know the culture of Spain. My host family was super nice and welcoming and I think I’ll remember this experience forever.

My experience in Madrid has been an amazing one. I was exposed to so much more culture than I had expected and I loved it all. My family has been more than welcoming and extremely generous. With their help, my Spanish has improved by leaps and bounds. I would recommend this program to anyone who wants to learn Spanish or about Spain.

I liked so much this camp and y had a really god time with my frends and a lot of more people y meet here. Some of the museos were not my favourite but some other things like Sevilla and Toledo y loved them.

Me lo he pasado súper bien en este programa. Tanto en las actividades como en el tiempo libre ha sido un momento de intercambio cultural y de pasar rato con nuevos amigos. Los monitores y mini monitores se han preocupado en todo momento por nosotros y han conseguido que esta experiencia sea inolvidable.

Este campamento ha sido una experiencia increíble que no voy a olvidar. Desde el primer día, supe que me lo iba a pasar muy bien, y así ha sido. Las actividades han sido muy divertidas y variadas: desde juegos al aire libre y excursiones por la naturaleza hasta talleres creativos y noches alrededor de la hoguera. Cada día ha sido diferente y emocionante. Lo que más me ha gustado ha sido conocer a tantas personas nuevas. Al principio estaba un poco nervioso, pero todos fueron muy amables y poco a poco fui haciendo amigos. Hemos compartido muchas risas, anécdotas y momentos especiales. Me he dado cuenta de que, aunque venimos de lugares distintos, tenemos muchas cosas en común. Además, he aprendido a convivir en grupo, a ser más independiente y a trabajar en equipo. También he descubierto cosas nuevas sobre mí mismo y me llevo muchos recuerdos bonitos. Sin duda, este campamento me ha ayudado a crecer como persona. Estoy muy agradecido por todo lo vivido y por las personas que he conocido. Ojalá podamos volver a vernos pronto y repetir una experiencia tan bonita como esta.

I met some of the kindest most welcoming people in Spain. My host family was patient while I practiced my Spanish with them, teachers were dedicated to improving my understanding in new and immersive ways. I made friends with native spanish speakers and found a comfortable environment to speak Spanish with no judgement.

I can honestly say that I loved every second of my time with INESLE Madrid. Staying with a host family taught me so much about Spain and the culture. I truly believe that INESLE paired me with the best possible family. From the staff to the kids and families within the program, everyone was super kind and welcoming. INESLE brought me new friendships, experiences, and knowledge. Best of all, my Spanish speaking and understanding improved so much during my 2 weeks in Madrid. So grateful for my time with INESLE! I would easily do it again.

Unique and Excelent experience. A Chicago boy´s was in our house during 15 days. The Cultural and Funny experience with inesle was very good. This is a very good opportunity to share experience between 2 countries. The directors and team of INESLE are very committed and involvement and this is a good K to get the best result! They have the opportunity to know the most important village near Madrid like Segovia or Toledo and the most important buliding/musseums of Madrid (Plaza Mayor, Museo del Prado, Museo Reina Sofia, Royal Palace, others).

I truly enjoyed every aspect of this experience and would not change it for the world. I loved my host family as they welcomed me with open arms, and activities were joyous. The cultural immersion is unlike any other I’ve ever experienced and I truly have learned a lot from this program spiritually and academically.

I had loved this program. It have been a very fun program and I have enjoyed a lot. Some activities are better than other for me but I have liked all a lot. It have been a very good month. The experience to have an American person in our house have been very fun and interesting.

This expirience are so good,the people are so fiendly and the monitors are so fiendly instead of Alma,thanks to Carlos for count me to this Pogram,after,The James way are so good,the food of the restaurant are so good,thanks to my Parent to put me in this pogram,thaks a lot to my friends to stay whith my in the playground,and always i dicover this new experience,and i am going to tell about this program.

I loved this experience so much and I am going away with nothing but good memories! I got to meet so many people and learn about another country through our classes and excursions, as well as with my host family on our own. We also had time on our own to go experience other parts of surrounding cities, and excursions to other parts of the country such as the Camino de Santiago. Overall I really enjoyed living with my host family, as I now have a relationship with two younger sisters. I would definitely recommend this program to anyone wanting to improve their Spanish language and make international connections!

It was a nice experience that you can share your memories after with your family and your fliends. It’s an unique experience. I learn a lot of english here. And you also know how american people live their life there. I recomend this experience to everyone

I had so much fun during the program, and I made many new friends from Spain and even the United States. It was dicho an amazing and unique experience that I would recommend to anyone without doubt…..

It’s an amazing experience where you get to know people from all places of united states. Also you can do fun activities and classes where you learn a lot. The people were very nice. I felt so confortable with my american sibling. The teachers also were very nice.

I think it was a great expierence and a will recommended to some friends, I enjoy every moment in the clases and in the activities and I make so many good friends, all the teachers are really good and I learn a lot.

I think this is an unique experience that I will repeat of I have the opportunity. I had the opportunity to meet new people and develop a frienship that I will preserve for the rest of my life and I will remember for the near future

The program that Inesle provides to American students is authentic, immersive, and well-planned. The curriculum is scaffolded to meet the needs of individual students with varying levels of comfort with the Spanish language. All of our students left Spain with greater confidence in their language skills and life-long friends!

INESLE Madrid was an extremely enriching, fun, and life-changing experience for me. It was incredible to immerse in the beautiful Spanish lifestyle under the welcoming guidance of my loving host family. My host family truly made me feel at home and included all throughout my stay, whether that entailed taking me on awesome excursions all throughout the country when we didn’t have class, inviting me to spend time with my host sister’s friends and extended family, or simply taking me out to try new foods and experiences. I especially enjoyed the Camino de Santiago, where I not only hiked amidst beautiful nature, but also connected with people hailing from all over the world. I feel very blessed to have had this amazing opportunity to connect with the culture, meet new people, and deepen my understanding and appreciation for different lifestyles, all while enjoying a new side of the world that I had never visited before.

I did not stop talking about INESLE for months after I came back and even now, over a year later, it is still one of the best experiences I have lived. I loved my host family and getting to meet new people not only from Spain but from around the world who all came to one place to learn with me. The Spanish classes were helpful in learning the language in its home country rather than a classroom in the US and the excursions helped to solidify my understanding of both the language and the culture. I would definitely recommend this program to anyone who wants to learn Spanish or just try something new in immersing themself in a new, welcoming, and unique place like Madrid.

I really enjoyed this camp for several reasons. I was able branch out and explore Spanish culture while improving my Spanish speaking skills. I made new friends and connected with a one too. I loved hanging out and going around the city together. Whether it was traveling or staying home, I was cool with it as long as I was with my friends. I also really enjoyed my host family and the monitors. I would 100 percent do it again. Thank you

I enjoyed my time in Spain and in the program. It was really awesome to go to a whole other continent to see new people and new things. I loved spending the nights on the Camino having fun with friends. I also loved when we were free to have fun around Madrid in my free time. I have a lot of good memories of this trip.

I loved INESLE very much!! I met incredible people here from both Spain and the United States. My host family was kind and welcoming, and I believe I learned a lot in this program. My host sister and I really bonded and I loved getting to know her many siblings. The teachers are incredibly supportive and funny. Learning about the culture and customs first hand was amazing and has made this one of the best summers I’ve ever had!

In the program I struggle to hide, make friends and find a group to talk to.. It was hard during activities alone. And naturally, I'm a pretty introverted person. So being in a summer camp and everyone is talky it feels a little difficult

I liked the inesle program. The classes start more beneficial in the earlier weeks of the program. I wish the good medical class focused more on the assessment and reviewing each question I like learning about Spanish culture. Wish I had more one on one, as I only had two the mandatory focus on speaking is something that I expected to help me advance my Spanish, however I was still able to make friends with Americans and met some Spanish people.

It was a very memorable experience. I learned a lot more Spanish than I would have learned in a classroom. I also learned a lot outside out the classroom. For example, the trip to Segovia, where I learned a lot of history. I made a lot of friends that I will never forget and an important bond with my host family.

INESLE Madrid has taught me, among other things: how to navigate the Madrid metro, how to scream along to Spanish songs on the bus, what the ancient suit of armor of a six-year-old prince looks like, how to use colloquial Spanish verbs and phrases, what to order in Burger King at the typical Spanish dinner hour of 10:30 PM, and every type of learning, not understanding, growing, struggling, and finding a community.

This was a really Fun and Unique experience, and I Can’t believe it is almost over. My host family was so caring and Kind. The inesle experience was very fun and Interesting. There were New adventures everyday, Experiencing Madrid was very unique, Suprisingly similar to home so that Longing for home was never a problem, I will remeber this for Eternity. I highly recommend this expierence for other people and, while not life changing for me, it could be life changing for others.

INESLE Madrid was a very enriching and fun experience for me. I was fully immersed in the Spanish lifestyle here, which was beautiful. My host family was absolutely incredible and truly made me feel included at all points throughout the trip. They always ensured I felt comfortable and at home, whether that entailed taking me on awesome excursions, inviting me to spend time with my host sister and her Spanish friends, or simply taking me to shop for my favorite foods. Overall, this was an incredible experience that helped me do so much more than just improve my Spanish, and I am extremely grateful to have had this opportunity.

My experience with INESLE Madrid was a special one. I created friendships with people I never thought I would meet and relationships/ connections I wont ever forget. We all built a special community with each other, it was like we became a family. This experience was one for the books, a summer I will never forget with people I’ll always remember.

I was nervous about flying to Spain and living with a host family before INESLE. But through this program, I've grown and conquered my fears of traveling abroad by myself. Living with a host family not only gave me confidence in my Spanish, but has shown me the importance of connecting with people from other cultures and having empathy for lifestyles different from yours.

I really enjoyed INESLE overall. I liked the activities we did and enjoyed the structure of the program. I wish the program was less strict about the Americans hanging out by themselves and exploring the city sometimes without their host family. I loved my host family and they were very nice to me and gave me anything I needed. I specifically loved the Camino de Santiago and making new friends. One of my favorite activities was singing songs with my friends on the Camino de Santiago.

This summer was a great experience to learn about Spanish culture and connect with mostly American students. I feel like I learned a lot about Spain’s history along with how the culture is now, specifically among teenagers.

I loved this program and really want to return to INESLE or Madrid in the near future. My host family was perfect and they were super helpful in teaching me Spanish. The classes could be a bit long but they were very informative about the history and culture of Spain. The trips were so much fun, for the most part, as sometimes it was difficult to walk around a museum for three hours. But above all, I made many friends out of not only the other Americans, but the Spaniards as well. They were all so friendly, kind, and energetic that it was infectious to the rest of us.

I enjoyed making American friends from different schools and states. Most of the program was overall fun. However, the age difference between Spaniards and Americans was a parent both a number and maturity level. I understand why that is, but it caused me to be friend Americans, my age to better connect socially. I also came here expecting to learn more of the grammar, especially after the fully grammar base placement test. However, the classes were more vocab-based. The cultural and historical aspect of the program was helpful to gain context for the importance of what we were seeing in museums and around in Madrid in general.

I had a great time with INESLE! I lived with a family in Manzanares El Real. They were super nice and I had some great opportunities to learn Spanish from native speakers. During the day I traveled with my host brother Alex to Madrid for the main part of the program: Courses on Spanish culture, history, among other things. We also went on day trips and weekend trips around the country. My favorite one is our visit to El Camino de Santiago. Overall it was a fantastic experience. Would definitely recommend it!
