Authentic experience abroad
December 31, 2024by: Cherokee ZarateProgram: Arcos Learning Abroad in Granada, SpainMy biggest personal challenge in Granada was getting comfortable being independent. The greatest benefits of the program were the Spanish immersion to learn the language much faster. I would absolutely recommend this program to future students for an authentic and cultural experience abroad.

What made it for me were the program directors. They genuinely cared about us and were always checking in to make sure we were doing okay. Not to mention, the classes were fun and I learned a lot and the cultural activities were so fun! I would have stayed longer if I could.

Every city has its tourist attractions and its hidden gems and is full of experiences and discoveries. Try new things, explore, talk to locals! That’s how you learn, gain life experience, and have a truly rich abroad experience. Some of the best memories were made by stumbling into them - whether it be randomly finding a dance show on the street or an art gallery or talking to locals - there are things to find and people to talk to. Go find them!
