The course is perfect!

September 09, 2026Nidhi Nangia - India

I have thoroughly enjoyed my TEFL course with TTA and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a well structured and comprehensive programme. What I particularly appreciate is the balance the course strikes. It covers everything you genuinely need to know without overwhelming you with irrelevant information. The level of difficulty is just right too. It is challenging enough that you have to stay engaged and actually put in the work, but not so demanding that you feel you need to quit your job to keep up with it! Another thing that really stands out is how well the course is presented. The content is clear, organised and easy to follow, which makes learning a lot more enjoyable and manageable. And I must especially commend TTA for having such a great job support system in place. Knowing that there is genuine support beyond simply completing the course adds tremendous value and makes the whole experience feel much more worthwhile. Thank you, TTA, for putting together such a thoughtful, practical and well presented course!

Getting Comfortable with the Unknown

September 09, 2026Karen Nava Calderon - United States

I chose Cape Town for my internship abroad because I wanted the opportunity to experience a part of Africa and immerse myself somewhere completely new. What I loved most was how much the city has to offer. There is music everywhere, incredible food, endless outdoor activities, and so much creativity. Whether exploring the city, heading into the mountains, or spending time at the beach, everything felt within reach. Even after ten weeks, I still felt like there was so much more I wanted to discover. Living so far from home also taught me a lot about myself. Over time, I became much more comfortable with the unknown and learned to adapt to a different way of life, from local slang and culture to the everyday rhythms of Cape Town. I will especially miss the music, the creativity of the city, and all the people I met along the way. The VAC team was incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. One of the things I am most grateful for is the community the program created. Many of the friendships and connections that shaped my time in Cape Town came through VAC, and the people I met and experiences we shared are something I will always remember.

I had the privilege to have studied abroad in Sevilla with world strides and had the best semester of my life! The culture in Sevilla was amazing, and World Strides really embedded us in it. The kindness at the office really made me feel at home. Couldn't recommend it enough!

The Best Intern Abroad Experience

September 09, 2026Melia Piloske - United States

My experience with Sage Corps was one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had in college. I interned in Madrid, Spain, as a Business Development and Sales Intern, where I worked on customer outreach, sales, market research, social media, and client relationships. One of the biggest things I gained was learning how to adapt to a new culture. At first, I struggled with the different communication styles in Spain, but over time I became more comfortable and learned how important it is to be open-minded and adaptable. I also loved the experiences outside of my internship, especially the Toledo trip, group dinners, and Bernabeu Tour. Getting to explore Spain while meeting other students made the experience even more memorable. I would highly recommend Sage Corps because it gives you the chance to gain real professional experience while immersing yourself in another culture. It pushed me outside of my comfort zone and helped me grow both personally and professionally.

Eye opening

I had a wonderful experience with the Marine Conservation Volunteer Project in Kilifi, Kenya. The entire program was very well organized, and everything was clearly planned from the beginning. The team was welcoming, professional, and supportive throughout the experience. I particularly enjoyed being involved in marine conservation activities and learning more about the local environment and the importance of protecting our oceans. The project offered a great balance between meaningful conservation work and experiencing the beautiful Kenyan coast and local community. I would highly recommend this program to anyone looking for a well-organized, impactful, and rewarding volunteering experience

It has definitely made me more resilient and stress-free: 100% worth it!

September 09, 2026Grace Daly - United Kingdom

I really loved and appreciated the positive attitude from the teachers and the children at my school, always making us feel included and cared for. The people and friends we made along the programme will be some friends for life; we even went on holiday together in the weeks break for the King's birthday! This experience has definitely made me more adaptable and flexible. With Thai schools and teachers, anything can change instantly and I struggled to acclimatise to that aspect at first but then I really got into that attitude during my time there. It has definitely made me more resilient (and stress-free!)

An unforgettable summer in Barcelona

September 09, 2026Lilliana Miranda - United States

My Sage Corps experience in Barcelona was one of the most meaningful experiences of my college career. The program gave me the opportunity to live and work abroad while gaining hands-on experience at a startup, where I worked on sales, business development, outreach, research, content creation, and marketing projects. I appreciated that I was given real responsibilities and the opportunity to explore different areas of the company, which helped me better understand my professional strengths and interests. Sage Corps also did a great job creating opportunities for us to experience Barcelona beyond our internships. Our City Managers, Pamela and Mikel, were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout the program. They gave us great recommendations, made the scheduled events fun, and most importantly made me feel safe while living abroad. They organized a variety of activities and excursions for our cohort throughout the program, including visits to Mirador Torre Glòries, Park Güell, and a day trip to Sitges, just to name a few. These experiences gave us the chance to explore more of Barcelona, learn about the culture, and make memories together outside of work. Living abroad challenged me to become more independent, adaptable, and confident. I returned home with new professional skills, meaningful friendships, unforgettable memories, and a clearer sense of what I want from my future career. I would absolutely recommend Sage Corps to students who want international work experience while also immersing themselves in a new culture.

Two weeks in Kansai

September 09, 2026Elon Bridgen - United Kingdom

From beginning to end my time in Kansai was bloody amazing. Osaka is bustling with great food choices and activities day & night. My TEFL Learning Journey

September 09, 2026shahir beukes - South Africa

My experience with the TEFL course has been rewarding and enriching. As someone who is passionate about teaching, I found the course to be a valuable opportunity to develop my knowledge and improve my teaching skills. One of the most important things I learned was how to plan lessons that are engaging, interactive, and suitable for learners with different needs and abilities. The course helped me understand that teaching English is not only about explaining grammar and vocabulary, but also about creating a supportive environment where learners feel comfortable, confident, and motivated to participate. I enjoyed discovering new ways to make English lessons more engaging and enjoyable for learners. The course also helped me reflect on my own teaching practices. I gained a deeper understanding of the importance of clear communication, and adapting lessons to suit individual learners. This has strengthened my confidence in supporting learners who may struggle with English. Overall, the TEFL course has expanded my understanding of language education and renewed my motivation to continue growing as an educator. I would recommend it to anyone interested in teaching English or improving their teaching abilities. It is a worthwhile learning experience .I enjoyed discovering new ways to make English lessons more engaging and enjoyable for learners.

Proud to have successfully completed my TEFL course.

Couldn't have wished for a better time!

September 09, 2026Luke Sietas - Australia

My time in Brazil was honestly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Living and working alongside the other volunteers made it so much more than just a trip. We spent so much time together, from working in the rainforest during the day to hanging out and getting to know each other in the evenings. I met some genuinely great people who I’ll remember for a long time. A big part of what made the experience so special was Imran. He is a genuinely great guy who made everyone feel welcome and looked after us throughout our time there. His passion for the work and the people around him really stood out, and he helped make the whole experience feel like a community rather than just a volunteer program. I loved being out in the Amazon, learning about the environment and getting involved in biodiversity research, species identification and restoration work. I came away with a much greater appreciation for the rainforest, but also some great memories and friendships that I’ll take with me. I would honestly recommend the experience to anyone who wants to do something completely different and genuinely memorable.

Excellent 4-Week Intensive Chinese Course at LTL Chengdu

September 09, 2026Joan Gasull - Spain

I completed a four-week intensive one-to-one Chinese course at LTL Chengdu, with 100 hours of classes in total, and I am extremely happy with both the progress I made and the overall experience. I am 33 years old and started the programme with approximately an A2 level of Chinese. I would particularly like to highlight my teacher Guo Xin Yue. She was outstanding: very professional, friendly and highly adaptable to my needs and learning style. I genuinely enjoyed studying with her and was extremely satisfied with the quality of her lessons. One of my specific requests was that I did not want to focus on learning how to write Chinese characters by hand, and this was respected perfectly. The lessons were adapted accordingly, which allowed me to focus on the areas that were most useful for my goals. I also had Juan Tang for fewer hours, but I was very happy with her classes as well. Ying, the Director of Studies, was excellent throughout my stay. She was always kind, attentive and very efficient in handling my requests and the logistics of the programme. I had booked several additional options, and everything was arranged and adapted very smoothly. At one point, I felt that one of my teachers was not the right fit for me, and the change was handled quickly and without any complications. The Safari sessions are worth understanding correctly: they are not primarily designed as opportunities to practise Chinese with random locals, but rather as a way to explore Chengdu with someone from the school. I had an excellent experience with Wei, who was perfect for this format. We explored the city together and had very enjoyable and interesting conversations. The school provided three different textbooks, and the course was flexible enough to focus more deeply on the one I found most useful. This flexibility was something I particularly appreciated. There was also a good variety of social activities, very well organised by Giulia and Ilaria. They both do an excellent job of creating a welcoming atmosphere and bringing students together. The school itself is relatively small, but well organised and comfortable, and students also have access to a personal locker. One point worth mentioning is that having a good level of English is important if you want communication with the teachers to be as smooth and precise as possible, especially when discussing grammar, learning preferences or specific questions. Overall, I am very satisfied with my experience at LTL Chengdu. I made significant progress in my Chinese, felt that the programme was genuinely adapted to my needs, and had a very enjoyable four weeks both academically and personally. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an intensive and personalised Chinese-learning experience.

The BEST decision ever!

This program changed my life for the better! I was so sad to leave but will be eternally grateful to this program for the experiences and connections I made. Whether you are looking to build your resume, meet new people, or just explore a new country, Intern Colombia is the program to go with. The internship placement process is incredibly easy, every person I interacted with as part of the program was incredibly kind, and there are so many activities planned out for the cohorts. I got to see and experience so much of Colombia and it is all thanks to this program. I made friendships that will last a lifetime and every single moment was filled with joy. Take the leap and join!

Language at BLCU

September 08, 2026Tomas Silva - Brazil

I studied Mandarin at BLCU in Beijing for 4 months, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. My homestay family was so kind — they spoke only Chinese, so I had to practice every single day. My teacher was patient and always encouraged me to speak more. By the end of the program, I could comfortably order food, take the subway, and even have simple conversations with locals. The GAC team organized a weekend trip to the Great Wall and a traditional Chinese painting class. I left Beijing with real language skills and friends from all over the world. Highly recommend!

Once in a Lifetime Study Abroad

September 08, 2026Rafid Quayum - United States

Truly a once-in-a- lifetime opportunity to study abroad in both Southern Patagonia and Antarctica. When else will you be able to travel to Antarctica through the lens of being an exchange student? You truly are integrated into the Spanish-speaking community in Ushuaia with both your host families and your program cohort, and your Spanish-speaking ability increases tenfold. The program director, Maria, is very supportive and wants all of her students to succeed, and will support you through any hardships you may face. The only downside was pre-program departure- the steps are very unclear regarding the need for a Visa, and getting on my flight, I had to purchase another flight outside of the program, leaving Argentina in 90 days (just to prove that I wouldn't overstay the tourist period, not that I would actually be taking this flight to leave the country), which the program said should not be necessary but then I still had to do. I then had trouble getting the ticket refunded, but SIT ended up covering the cost of this extra flight for the headache of it all. Also, homestay families are not created equal- some are definitely more accommodating than others, but Maria and the program staff are all there to help you through any obstacles, and if there is a problem, they are more than willing to step in to resolve it. Overall, even despite the few hiccups, this program is an experience that I will never forget and am so lucky to have had. The nature and hiking around Ushuaia are unmatched, the community is very welcoming, and the educational resources/research in the area are exceptional.

Prague: An Experience Full of Life-Long Memories

September 08, 2026Grace Mossad - United States

Living in Prague for 2 months during the summer of 2026 was an unforgettable and life changing experience. I was given the opportunity to live in a major European city, housed in an apartment building alongside locals just minutes outside of the city center. I took two courses through CEA Education Abroad, one technical and one humanities course, both counting towards my chemical engineering major at the University of Michigan. Not only was I able to see the most impeccable works of art, architecture, and music I have ever encountered, I was able to do so with new friends that I made, and I am confident that those friendships will last a lifetime. I was also able to explore 9 additional countries thanks to CEA CAPA's travel-friendly schedule, and those travels made a huge positive impact on my view of the world. I gained a global perspective that I could only have learned through first-hand experience, and I made memories that will be with me forever.

Poor communication and completely disorganized

September 08, 2026R L - United States

Great experience but not because of AFS. Communication was terrible throughout the entire process. Completely disorganized- I arrived a week AFTER school had started. Significant program fee for zero support from the company. I would strongly recommend the experience, but don't use AFS.

Extraordinary

September 08, 2026Natalia Perez - Mexico

My experience volunteering in Tanzania with IVHQ has been absolutely incredible and has exceeded my expectations in many ways. From the very beginning, everything was very well organized, which made the whole experience much easier and more enjoyable. The staff were always available to help, answer our questions, and make sure that we felt comfortable and supported throughout our stay. Their organization and dedication made a big difference and allowed us to focus on the most important part of the experience: helping and connecting with the local community. One of the things I enjoyed the most was meeting so many amazing people. Everyone we met was incredibly welcoming, kind, and friendly, and they made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Being able to interact with local people and learn about their culture, traditions, and daily lives was one of the most valuable parts of the trip. It was a great opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone, experience a completely different environment, and see things from a new perspective. During our volunteering experience, we were able to do a lot of meaningful work. It was very rewarding to see that our time, effort, and energy could contribute in a positive way. Even though some tasks were challenging, they were always worthwhile because we could see the importance of what we were doing. Working together with other volunteers also made the experience even better. We supported each other, shared responsibilities, and created great memories along the way. Another aspect that made this experience so special was the feeling of being part of something bigger than ourselves. Volunteering gave me the opportunity not only to help others but also to learn from them. I realized that even small actions can make a difference, and that sometimes the most important thing we can offer is our time, enthusiasm, and willingness to help. The experience also taught me to appreciate things that I sometimes take for granted in everyday life. Overall, my time volunteering in Tanzania with IVHQ has been one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had. I am very grateful for the opportunity to meet incredible people, experience a new culture, and take part in work that felt meaningful and impactful. I have learned a lot, grown as a person, and created memories that I will never forget. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone who is looking for an opportunity to make a difference while also challenging themselves, discovering a new place, and creating genuine connections with people from different backgrounds. I am leaving Tanzania with a very full heart, a greater appreciation for the world around me, and many unforgettable memories that I will carry with me for a long time.

TEFL.org is very thorough in reviewing one's answers.

September 08, 2026Maureen Abadom - Nigeria

The tutor kept sending feedbacks and me to rewriting my answers . He also asked me different questions from the ones that are on the system . They did all these to ensure that I wasn't using AI for my answers and I understood the questions very well.initally, I wasn't happy with the back and forth;but later, I realised that the back and forth process made me to understand the course very well more than I was studying

Had a very warm welcome !

Thank you guys for everything. I completed the A1 course for a week, which gave me enough time to understand the basics. Everyone here is very helpful and there are many people from around the world, who will be very helpful. They will not only teach you the language but also help you to understand the culture better as well as the meaning behind the words. All in all a great course.

Best travel experience yet

September 08, 2026Maria Mangino - United States

I lived in the community Nueve de Junio, Sacha Waysa, for one month. It was such an amazing experience, I got to really connect with the people in my community, learn a lot from their experiences, travel around Napo and meet others, and make a lasting connection with everyone I met. I hope to go back at least one more time in the next year (maybe during the fruit season) because of how close I got with my host family. I learned a lot about the land and Ecuador in general which was great, and Im glad Im still in contact with my hosts because I miss them already.
