Al Madina Bizerte, a boutique hotel in northern Tunisia, is offering a hands-on, relaxed hospitality internship. The hotel features 18 individually designed rooms in the heart of Bizerte and is highly rated (9.0 on Booking, 4.9 on Google). The internship provides practical experience in reception, breakfast service, organization, and guest care. Tasks include check-ins, guest communication, inventory lists, small purchases, and breakfast preparation. Housekeeping is only occasional, giving insight into daily hotel operations. Motivated interns may also be involved in areas such as marketing, strategy, planning, and partnership development. Working hours are up to 8 hours per day, with two days off per week. Accommodation and meals are provided and airport pickup is included. The internship is open to students and non-students. For participants from Europe, the USA, Canada, many Asian and African countries, no visa is required for stays up to three months; a simple health insurance policy is sufficient. All official documents, certificates, and internship confirmations are provided to support future applications or academic requirements.
A Guide to Interning Abroad in Tunisia
Why Intern Abroad Tunisia?
It shouldn’t come as any surprise that the majority of international internships in Tunisia will be located in Tunis, and that said internships will have a politically- or socially-minded bend to them. After the tumult of 2011, the country became the first democratic sovereign state in the Arab world, which means any intern in Tunisia has a unique opportunity to study the social sciences while they happen in real time. There are also internships in Tunisia in public administration and government as the country looks to build on its short-lived democratic tradition.
A stint in Tunisia would not be complete without a trip to Carthage and other historical sites around the country! You’d also do well to visit some of its golden beaches and bask in the warm sun of its Mediterranean climate. And while you’re on that beach, pull out a classic text from Tunisia’s deep literary tradition that centers around a theme that an intern in Tunisia might be familiar with: wandering.
