If your university offers Career Services, that’s a good place to start your search for an internship in Italy. Your next option is to check online resources, such as internship placement platforms or the organization you wish to intern at.
Paid internships in Italy are hard to come by. Organizations that do pay interns generally provide a monthly minimum stipend of 300 euros, according to current laws. Some host companies offer housing or meals as compensation.
Interns are not required to pay taxes in Italy. But you still need to get the Codice Fiscale, which is requested from the Italian government. It allows you access to certain services, such as health care and a mobile phone number.
International students and recent graduates can intern in Italy. Most placements are conducted in English, so participants don’t necessarily need fluency in Italian. But learning it helps overcome language barriers.
